I'm pretty sure Nana Malone is trying to drive me crazy. That seems to be the only explanation for the entire book that is Royal Playboy but especially that ending.
Xander was this perfectly well written tortured leading man. He's definitely right up there with his brother Lex for how amazing they are but I almost think I might love Xander and all his damage more.
Imani was perfect for him. I can't even explain that fully except to say everyone should read the book and it will all make sense. Every interaction I read between them solidified how right they were for each other.
Once again I was caught up in all the emotion and the well crafted back stories for the characters. I was caught up in the drama in the past and the present. I was just hooked on all the words. I didn't want it to end and now I'm desperate for the next book. I need to know what happens to Xander and Imani.

it's kinda hard to review a book when you're so confused about the events that transpire because you feel like you missed out on some necessary pre-requisites. but, nevertheless, i shall try to review this book.
the prologue starts off with
xander is a manwhore (duh), and sleeps with his "almost-brother's" wife in order to get some information from her to take down his "almost brother", alistair. what did alistair do? don't we get some backstory about what exactly xander does? nope.
imani is an actress, and attends acting university in london. she gets cast as an escort in a play, and because she's a ✨method actor✨, she meets up with an escort called melanie (i forgot her name but it starts with 'm'). she tells imani about her job, and about xander (not by name), and sends imani instead of her when xander calls for her. xander asks imani to pose as his fake girlfriend, so that the board (of what ??) will accept him. they fall in love, but then break up because imani cant accept that having a sugar daddy is a good thing.
tl;dr , xander suffers from some condition where he can't nut if he's with a partner, until imani and her magical pussy. the end. i can't decide if i hate this book, or i'm just outright confused, so 1,5 stars

First things first, wtf?! I was so thrown off by how much I liked this and let's be honest, I wasn't expecting much and thought this was going to an over the top cheesefest sooo… bravo Nana Malone! Kudos to you! This was a lot better than I had expected. The hot chemistry, oozing sexual tension and well done opposites attract component won me over and I’m mind blown to find out this was so well written for a book with less than two hundred pages. It sure flew by and before I knew it the cliffhanger ruined me. LIKE. HOW. DARE. YOU. END. WITH. A. CLIFFHANGER?! How dare you?! Nevertheless, I am looking forward to the highly anticipated next installment of this duology.

For starters, the prologue, in present day, is an intense what just happened kind of thing. The rest of the book flashes back to four years earlier and explains how they met. Imani is an emotionally scarred young woman carrying a lot of responsibility. Due to circumstances beyond her control, Imani is suddenly in desperate need of money, but she knows a way to get it. Enter Xander, the solution to her money problem. As it turns out, there is something that Xander needs from Imani as well. They help each other, and through this we learn that Xander has a lot of trauma from the past. They are good together and are slowly drawn deeper into the heart of the other until there's no turning back. The story has its light and sassy moments, but there are also dark moments with possible trigger situations. Imani and Xander make for a compelling and troubled yet, hopeful and resilient, couple. I genuinely cared about the outcome for these two because it was so easy to imagine their world, as the author rendered it beautifully. The ending is a cliffhanger indeed, and it harkens back to the prologue, bringing you full circle, well, almost. Don't worry, though, there will be another book, Playboy's Heart, available February 25th. Fingers crossed for answers!

This is quite a story. Xander and Imani are interesting characters. They both had a lot of traumatic things to overcome. They are terrific together. Their banter and interactions are sizzling and filled with chemistry.
The only so-called bad thing is that the book ends with a cliffhanger. You are going to want to find out what happens next... :)

Nana is hitting us hard with these Chase boys, Royal Playboy picks up right where London Soul left off. I love that there was no pretense the book starts right where we left Xander and his wife. His story also goes from present to past and I love that we get to hear how Xander and Imani met. There is just something that Nana creates in these stories, the Chase boys romance is intense, its overwhelming and very much filled with extreme sexual tension. Nana teases us throughout the story of Xander and Imani and you want so badly for things to work out for them.
I am happy that Xander finds his own love interest, I was a little worried about him in London Soul. I can't wait for the 2nd installment of this duet because of course Nana ended Royal Playboy with a Huge cliffhanger. I know she wont disappoint so I will patiently be waiting for Xander and Imani's conclusion. Fingers crossed that it ends with a HEA!!!

Really?! That ending? Gah, what the hell, woman? I. NEED. MORE!
Nana Malone takes my breath away, and writes an epic start to a new series that I know is going to be amazing. I hadn't read any of her work, and I am asking myself what has taken me so damn long to start? I wasn't sure what to expect but the moment I started, I fall in love with her writing. Her way with words has me completely fixated on the story and one minute I'm starting the book and the next I look up and it's 4 am... and I wanted to track the author down and curse her out... or beg her for book two!
Xander and Imani were so different from one another and if I am honest, at first I didn't see these two working out, but as the story unfolded, the more I could see the author had paired this two up perfectly and that they were in fact meant to be together. I believe you learn about Xander and Imani in another series, but it isn't a must to have read it, I haven't but I am sure as hell going to now.
These two are complex and the way they meet in unique, to say the least. I have to say that the author knows how to write a plot that is one of a kind and as much as I want to dive in deep with this. I'll I am going to say is that this book will take you on a bumpy, interesting and all-consuming ride and just when you think you will get some answers, the author leaves you hanging... But I have a feeling the wait for book two will be worth it and in the meantime, I'm going to devour her other books!

No one can write romance that is sexy, emotional and thrilling at the same time like Nana Malone. These stories belong to a whole new trope. And something I am addicted to. Royal Playboy gave me the unmistakable high from Nana Malone's signature writing. A broken, devilishly handsome, complicated and gorgeous royal. A girl who is changing his world. And the intricately scripted story of conspiracy, revenge and power plays. I am hooked from the first chapter.
If you have read her last duet, you have met celebrity photographer and royal descent Xander Chase. I was dying to read about his story as he absolutely fascinated me. He carries this cold, indifferent, rude and untouchable persona. But he is hiding a world of pain and ugly scars beneath his mask. He is determined to take down the person responsible for hurting him and damaging his soul irrevocably. Imani is not someone he counted in. The lovely girl aka talented actress from America came to London for studying. She has her own troubles and those pushed her to do desperate things. Like posing as Xander's fake girlfriend while he tries to get closer to his goal. But neither of them realized they would have this undeniable magnetic attraction. Xander does not want her involved in his mess but their lives are entwined dangerously now.
Imani is so different. Her past relationship left her bruised and abused but she got herself together. I am awed by her big heart. She could have just ignored the subtle hints that Xander is not ok. But she went all in even when she knew she will be heartbroken at the end. Xander is an enigma. He has so many facets and I would never get tired of discovering them. This was a very torturing slow burn. With each push and pull, I felt the magic of their chemistry even stronger. Like every Nana Malone story, I lost myself easily into the pages and it ended too soon. And of course that shocking ending! Xander and Imani's trust was built brick bu brick which was fitting due to their past experiences. It was filled with some extraordinary dreamy and romantic moments. And it also had some jaw dropping heated moments. With the perfect dose of suspense, it was just brilliant.
Royal Playboy was another royal masterpiece from Nana Malone that you cannot miss. Complex and swoonworthy characters will win your heart. The emotions are bleeding all over the pages. I want more of Xander and Imani!

Imani (love that name!) and Xander have chemistry. Not that either wants to acknowledge it, but it's so there. It's not real, though, or at least, not forever, so Imani knows better than to give the playboy prince her heart, right?
They both have pasts, have demons, and the way they come together is just, wow. Pretty perfect. The actual amount of time is short, but their relationship evolves quickly and organically, and by the end and with the crazy cliffhanger, I was dying to know what's going to happen next.
I love Xander and Imani, both together and individually. She's strong and giving with a big, big heart. Xander is perfect for her, even though he pushes her away at first. He's a tough one to get to know, but I fell pretty hard for him, even though I still don't feel like I know him as well as I want to. I know more layers will be revealed in Playboy's Heart, though. And I will find out what's more important to him: vengeance or his love.

Lex and Abby broke and rebuilt my heart for sure, but Xander and Imani almost shattered my soul.
A chance encounter and both their lives were changed forever. One in need and the other with a proposition, will they be able to help each other out?
This author creates characters superbly; fully padded out and oh so real. It’s so easy to connect to any of them. Desires, hopes, dreams all are out in the open for the reader to see and feel.
Imani is a star shining brightly at the start of a new journey. Hoping nothing will hold her back from her dream. She’s already survived so much.
Xander has always been the one Chase brother I struggled to figure out. Did this book make him more understandable? Yes and no. I saw behind the façade, I saw what he didn’t want people to see. But deep down there are things he hides that even he doesn’t realise.
Together they are a formidable power couple. They support, they cherish and more importantly, they heal one another. Romance is slow and meaningful. The best kind of anticipatory read there is.
Thank you Ms. Malone, cannot wait to read the next instalment. Especially after the cliff-hanger ending of this one. What are you doing woman? We can’t keep reading your magnificent books if you kill us all off!!

This is not the first time that I am reading and reviewing books of Nana Malone and I already know What an Amazing author she is and this book is no exceptional. I read this book in one go. Just got Hooked up. This is the first book of the Royal playboy duet.
The story is of Royal Prince Alexander or Xander who is in need of bride so that he can improve his image from a Playboy. He wanted to convince someone that he is better than that by committed to someone so that he can take his revenge.
Imani, a theater actress, whose role is an escort but she is in need of money as well. She wanted to learn deeply for her role so she met one escort and then she came to know how things work in this field. Then only she came to know that how much they earn from this.
Well, then destiny happened and Imani met Xander in the most appropriate manner they should've met.
This book was fabulous. I really loved the chemistry. The slow burn was something which will make you felt hot. Totally swooning. The character development and the side character was good too.
Though I felt that there was nothing new in the concept of the book but it still worth the reading. The book ended at the CLIFFHANGER so yes, second book is coming out soon too.

This is only the second book that I have read by this author and this was a vast improvement from the first book. The first chapter of this book definitely caught my attention and Piqued my interest. However, the actual telling of the story left me a little frustrated as it was a flashback of how they met. I am not a fan of books being broken up like this. This frustration grew as I realized that the book was going to be a cliffhanger. Knowing this now, I am sure I can already tell how the next book is going to conclude.
Even though this book was not my favorite, there were many things that I did like such as the author's ability to create scenes that made me feel everything. I, also, enjoyed some of the characteristics of the main characters. I would have enjoyed them more and their connection together had the story not felt so rushed. I wanted more depth. I am sure I am in the minority with this as everyone else is speaking so highly of this book.
I still appreciate this author and her passion for creating stories that can live on through her audience. Even though this book didn't hit me in all the feels it still was good.

Nana Nana Nana! How many times did I call you? *in my West African elder voice*
First off, I am pleased with the beginning of the book, but now I'm back to why Nana why?! As one of my fellow reviewers said, your books need to come with a disclaimer saying "will likely scream at the author in absolute frustration!"
I now wish I had read London Calling, but also happy I didn't as it's now totally new to me, unlike London Royal, because I had already read London Bound, so had an idea of most of it.
I can't wait for Playboy's Heart, and please give Xander a happy ending for the present day him.

First off, I am pleased with the beginning of the book, but now I'm back to why Nana why?! As one of my fellow reviewers said, your books need to come with a disclaimer saying "will likely scream at the author in absolute frustration!"
I now wish I had read London Calling, but also happy I didn't as it's now totally new to me, unlike London Royal, because I had already read London Bound, so had an idea of most of it.
I can't wait for Playboy's Heart, and please give Xander a happy ending for the present day him.

Royal Playboy by Nana Malone is the First book in the Playboy Royal Series. This starts the story of Xander Chase and Imani Brooks so their will be a cliffhanger setting you up for the next book/installment into their story. This book does have some trigger from the trauma that these two goes through. Their story goes through different times in their lives so that we can get the whole back story. Xander was set on revenge but with Imani he starts to feel something more. They both seem to find something in each other that they need but of course this just starts their journey.

Ohhhh….Nana!!!! Why do you do this to me???
First, I need to say this is a CLIFFHANGER! But…it is a huge do-not-pass-this-one-up cliffhanger! It was a wonderful, quick, delicious read! From the start to finish I wouldn’t put it down. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time!
This story of Xander (Lex Malone’s brother) and Imani starts out intense, and doesn’t stop! Royal Playboy gives the backstory of their relationship…at least part of it…because it is a CLIFFHANGER! (Yeah, I need to get over it, I get it!) Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed this first book of the Playboy Royal series and cannot wait for the next book in the series!

I really enjoyed this book and authors writing style. This is the first book of Nana Malone that I’ve read, and it won’t be the last. This is a duet so it ended on a cliffhanger. I can not wait to get my hands on book two!! Holy heck, that ended!?
Xander is something else! Like wow, just all kinds of sexy and angst. And the little bits and pieces you get from his past, just leave me wanting to know more and more! One thing you do pick up on thou, is that it was no walk in the park. I loved how he tried so hard to do right by Imani. Even after just meeting her, he was smitten and it shows in every interaction they have moving forward.
Imani is no stranger to a hard past. And what little you get from her past... just breaks my heart. Imani is strong, caring, funny as all get out, and just trying to live her best life. She also has the weight of the world on her shoulders, and it was so refreshing to see Xander be a positive in her corner. Xander’s never been the comforting and gentle type, but Imani brings out the good in him, and he wants to take care of her, make life easier.
Another great read for 2020 and it’s only just begun. Can’t wait for book two, and i highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a sexy and charming Brit.

I decided to read this because I read it originally as London Calling and I heard Nana Malone say she completely revamped the story. But other than a small piece at the beginning it read exactly as I remember it. Except the story has now been split into two books. I see with the royal craze they're trying to emphasize the word royal in the title and use words like princess but Xander isn't a prince he just has a royal cousin.
The story is still good. The sizzling chemistry between Imani and Xander hooks you right away. Even though I already knew how everything would play out I still couldn't put the book down.

Da*n this woman! I swear, this author needs to put a disclaimer in the beginning of all her books, 'may cause bouts of rage and frantic finger movements at the end of this book as you claw through your Kindle searching for more words, thinking NO, DON'T LEAVE ME LIKE THIS!!!!' Seriously though, if you've read her other books (and if you haven't, WHY NOT? Go get some and message me to discuss!) you know we can trust Ms. Malone with our hearts. She will only make them bleed for a tiny while for her characters before she patches them all up good as new with a shiny bow and a letter of apology lol. She's pushing it with Xander and Imani though, I've gotta say, these two better get all the happy ever afters as they have both been through enough to last lifetimes, they are surely due for some sunshine and good fortune. There are plenty of guys not to like as well in here, seems our intrepid duo have been surrounded by some pretty unsavory characters. Alastair, I want to tear his eyes out for poor Xander, and Ryan with Imani, something tells me that will get worse before it gets better. You can see the signs of entitlement and privilege from day one. Can't wait for the rest of this sordid tale, something tells me things are going to be bad, so all I can do is hope the author makes the ending 10 times sweeter for them to make up for it!

Nana Malone is a mean, mean author. Teehee!!! If you are a fan you understand where this is coming from. Be fore warned Royal Playboy ends in a cliffhanger. The next book is due out Feb. 25, 2020 it's a long time yet with the holidays it should fly by. This book starts where London Soul ended. Royal Playboy is London Calling updated. This book goes a little more in depth of Xander and Imani's relationship. It's been a long time since I read London Calling so I forgot a lot of things, So I'm really enjoying it a second time around. Xander and Imani are brought together under unusual circumstances but I felt their attraction to each other. I really like Imani her need for independence, but I also appreciate her loyalty to her family. I get that Xander had things in his past but I felt he used it as excuses to stay closed off. Some how Nana Malone kept me on the edge of my seat turning the pages. You know something is going to happen yet you don't know where its coming from. I found this book fun, entertaining and a pager turner. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader's copy.

With that being said I'm going to hang my head in shame and say that I have never read a Nana Malone book before this one, I will be looking into some of her other books when I have time though.
While reading I did not want to put this book down, it pulled me in from the first word of the Prologue and kept a hold of me until the major cliffhanger at the end.
Xander Chase is out for revenge and will stop at nothing to get it. However, he was not expecting her. Xander is your typical playboy in most aspects of his life.
Imani is an actress/student that was cast as the lead role. She is very into figuring out all aspects of her roles and will do any type of research needed. However, she was not expecting to run into him.
What happens when Xander and Imani come to an agreement that is suppose to help one more than the other?
The suspense of this book will keep you reading and wanting more. I can't wait for book 2 to find out hat happened!!

Imani is escaping a drunk father who is suffocating her by his destructive behavior. But Imani has an amazing opportunity and she's grabbing it. Now she just got the lead role in a play and she's playing a call girl. She does her research by meeting one and realizes that she can make a lot of money by just talking with one guy and that will help her immensely. It just so happens that Xander, is the guy.
Xander is a gorgeous and successful man who has his own demons but somehow Imani makes him feel differently. Xander realizes that she's not actually a call girl but he needs help in the form of a fake girlfriend for a weekend away and one thing leads to another.
As they begin to open up to each other, you can't help but route for them and hope that they can overcome their pasts.
Of course, Nana leaves you hanging and you can't wait for the next book to see how it ends. Another great read by Nana Malone!

By now any reader of this author’s work should be prepared for the unexpected and yet we aren’t! The cliffhanger is a real doozy on this one but I know she will resolve it in spectacular fashion! The wait is frustrating!
I have to say that the stories continue to be epic and entertaining. Reading the first and second duet in order is necessary but you can enjoy them without having read any previous stories. I would recommend that you start at the beginning when you are able and you’ll find how interwoven everyone and everything is without it being difficult to follow. Always enjoy her stories!
Xander and Imani are both fighting off the demons in their lives, some still tormenting them. She left her home to travel to London to seek her dream and a few issues followed her. Xander came across as a much older and aloof character in a previous story but he comes alive here. Just shows how your perspective can change! I know you will enjoy this story and many more to come.
