It was supposed to be a lot of things...but not this.

After surviving the long and excruciating recruitment process, I thought I would end up working for Madonna or the CIA at the very least.
Boy, was I wrong.

Even in my wildest dreams I couldn't have imagined what I was in for. What my heart was in for.

I couldn't have possibly fathomed the lifestyle, the responsibility, how much it would take out of me, the inner battles, and mostly, the emotional whirlwind.
I could never have imagined, prepared myself for, or anticipated…

Him.

It was supposed to be a job. Just a temporary job. Just a few months. Just a short stop before the journey I was about to take to follow my dream.

It was supposed to be a lot of things...but not this.
Little did I know it would be the one event that would shape me, would change me, would bring on such a shift in the balance of my world.
Would bring...

Him.

Would bring…

Them.
Both.
Into my life.

*UNPLUGGED is the first part in a two-part, new adult,
non-love triangle, non-cheating, series; it has a cliffhanger-ish ending.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! Unplugged, book 1 of 2. An against-all-odds & forbidden romance between a superstar & his nanny!

“Our closeness is like the force between two magnets. Something almost impossible to fight, unless you keep a certain distance.”

Books in Unplugged duet should be read in order:
Book 1: Unplugged
Book 2: Untitled

Unplugged (book 1) opens up to Ivi Kert, Kiisu arriving to Los Angeles to start a 6-month nanny job. Imagine her shock when she realizes her new boss is no other than singer, song-writer and recording superstar Tyler Lee Adams, Ty.

Follow her as she settles into the Hollywood, meets her new charge and gets to know her boss.

Tyler and Ivi both feel a spark and an attraction, but time is against them. A slow brewing romance between a small-town girl out to save the world and her heartthrob boss who does need another entanglement.

A flirtation which explodes into passion before it must come to an end… or will it?

Seven words to describe Tyler Lee Adams, Ty: charming, noble, considerate, reserved, complex, possessive and private.

Seven words to describe Ivi Kert, Kiisu: reflective, assertive, charismatic, confident, determined, caring and loyal.

Unplugged, told from Ivi’s POV, is a mixture of forbidden and impossible romance not meant to be played out in front of the world. It ends as the next chapter of their affair begins to be concluded in book 2.

A deliciously slow, warm and languorous romance.

Ivi Kert flew from Estonia to LA she’d be someone’s nanny, she never imagined it would be the ten year old son no one knows about of one of the biggest and hottest rock stars in the world and therefore was not prepared when faced with him, much less cohabitate with him, with both of them, for the next six months.

Ivi is not the kind of woman who shies away from a challenge or an adventure easily, but this job will require her to open her heart to these two people and cause her an emotional upheaval that will change her life forever. What will she do when the time comes to say goodbye?

I’ve been a Sigal Ehrlich fan from the beginning, loving her writing style which pulls me into the story from each chapter’s epigraphs, to richly detailed descriptions, to the subject matter which in this Unplugged’s case is a wonderfully angsty love story.

Ivi’s first encounter with her boss is anything but normal, especially when he tries to get rid of her a few hours later. He’s less than happy with her presence in his home and she’s not shy about putting him in his place, besides she’s there for his son, not him. Even though Ivi is fairly young and inexperienced in love, she knows her own mind, knows what she wants and in general is a tough cookie whose biggest dream is to go to missions wherever help is needed. She’s impossible not to love.

As for our cantankerous hero, I’ll put him in pause for a bit to talk about the other awesome man in the book. Jeremy, Tyler Lee’s son is truly adorable. A sweet boy and somewhat of a know it all who can state long facts about almost anything in the cutest fashion, causing Ivi to repeatedly tell him to read children’s books and carve a special place for him in her heart.

Even though Tyler was certainly aware and attracted to Ivi from the moment they met, it was the bond between her and his son that most assuredly thawed his cranky exterior. As they spend time together Ivi gets to know the stripped down version of the rock star. Tyler unplugged is flesh and blood human with a somewhat sad upbringing, who wants to get to know and love his son and while doing so, falls for the sassy nanny.
“I think you put a spell on me, Kiisu.” His voice becomes raspier when he adds, “And I like it. A lot.”
“I think this magic works both ways, Tyler,”

The relationship between Ivi and Tyler is slow and seductive. I got swept away in every alluring minute of it, from the struggles and tears, to the longing and irresistible surrender. They have the forbidden issues that come with a boss-employee relationship, there’s also the fact that Tyler has never had a serious relationship and Ivi has to learn to navigate the rock star lifestyle, and finally there’s the fact that Ivi’s time in LA has an expiration date as she has big, very laudable plans for when her job is finished, but the bond they form is strong enough for them to work to keep it. I can’t wait to see how they do.
“Tyler, what are we doing?” The way he looks at me is a prelude to his next words. He brushes my cheek with his thumb.
“I don’t know… But I can’t stop… It never felt this amazing.”

Unplugged is book #1 in the Unplugged duet by Sigal Ehrlich. It is a contemporary romance, told from the heroine’s point of view with a semi cliffhanger.

descriptionThis is a gorgeous cover. A great representation of the hero and story. Original typography and great compostion. I love the overall "artsy" look to it.description

descriptionI really enjoyed this one. This is my first time reading anything by this author, but it won't be my last. I find she has an engaging way of writing. The pace was fairly good overall, although it did drag a little for me through the middle.

I'll admit I am not a real huge fan of rock star books. I find they tend to be top heavy on the angst and other women/groupie drama. Thankfully this one was pretty mild in that department. It also had some great secondary characters. Especially Jay (I'd love to see him get a book) as well as some of the other guys from the band.

description

I found Ivi extremely likable. She was a sweet person that didn't refrain from putting people in their places when they deserved it. I liked that she called the hero out on his behavior when it warranted it. Tyler was a bit of a mixed bag for me. He was a bit of a douche at first, but then the real Tyler starts to show and I started warming up to him. His interactions with his son melted my heart. That said I did get frustrated with his hot-cold routine that lasted right up until the end. Honestly, though the real star of this book was Tyler's 10-year-old son Jeremy. I loved that kid and his random facts.

A couple things stopped this from being a total hit for me. One this was a real slow burn type of book. These two dance around each other until pretty late in the book (I want to say 60%-70% in). I also feel that Ivi and Tyler's HEA could have been wrapped up in this book. A few more chapters were all that was needed (IMO). I enjoyed this one enough that I want to read book two but part of me is worried it is going to be a whole book of manufactured drama to keep these two apart. I guess we will see.description

Title: Unplugged
Series: Unplugged #1
Author: Sigal Ehrlich
Release date: March 10, 2017
Cliffhanger: Yes
HEA

“You are beautiful and generous and incredibly talented. And this image you are selling, I can understand the draw, you literally shine like the star that you are. I like it too. But you know what? It’s the unplugged version of you that I’ve been falling for.”

Ivi is a 22 year old woman with ambitions to change the world for the better. After getting a harsh reality check, she lives to improve other's lives and help the misfortunate. She has a trip set for Nepal to aid the locals who were left without a home, but in order to do that she needs funds. After a mysterious and rigorous interview process, she lands a six month job as a nanny. To her shock, it brings her right into the home of rockstar Tyler Lee Adams.

Tyler takes a a while to warm up to. He's very abrasive, conceited, and as you would probably expect, quite a manwhore. Ivi has to hold her own against him right from the start, and I think she did a great job. She was a little starstruck, but she didn't allow him to trample all over her and disrespect her. I think it helped that she fell head over heels for his adorable boy Jeremy from their first meeting. I think I may have swooned a little myself for this kid too. He had an endless supply of facts in his very quick brain and a sweet vulnerable side when he meets his dad Tyler for the first time.

The romance took a backseat for a while behind the focus on Tyler getting to know and bonding with his son. Ivi played a part in giving them the space to have their chance to have their father-son time. I loved how they were both dedicated to making sure that Jeremy was happy. I had to laugh at Ivi's swear jar and how she would shove it at him and his entourage when their language got too colorful. Tyler isn't exactly a natural father figure, but I think his son's influence really softened him up and opened him to more than what his cynical eyes had seen.

The real Tyler caught me off guard and seeded himself little by little in my heart. I don’t think I will ever be able to erase his presence there.

As their attraction progressed, there was a lot of push and pull between them. Tyler attempts to keep his distance because he knows that her time there is limited and she will be moving on permanently very soon. There are some brief moments of weakness that send mixed signals that made me a little impatient towards both of them. You kind of wanted them to just acknowledge the huge elephant in the room, that tension that was humming between them wasn't going anywhere. But admittedly it was entertaining to see his jealousy over her friendship with his friends and his emotions for her get the best of him.

The beginning of their romance may have been drawn out, but the last half I enjoyed very much. As her departure date loomed, the two of them deemed to desperately cling to the little time they had left. They questioned themselves and what they really wanted from each other, and if there was a chance that this could go past here and now. Ivi was more than a little terrified of not ever being asked to come back to him, but at the same time questioned whether she should even be sacrificing her role in the organization that she was a part of. I LOVED the ending, loved! Tyler made a compete turn around and won me over with his adoration and support of her.

Tyler certainly wasn't perfect, in fact he had more than one moment where you want to kick him in his junk. But he evolved and grew, and became someone who knew how to appreciate and love Ivi for the wonderful woman she was. After the ending, I'm curious to see where the author takes this. There was a cliffy here, but it wasn't left off on a bad note, so it's not a difficult one to deal with at all. I enjoyed Sigal's style of writing as I have in the past, and I really look forward to reading the conclusion and their happy ending with volume two.

Amazing story.
First of all, Ivi is from Estonia!
I bet no one ever read a romance with an estonian heroine! I know I haven't. I loved that!
The secret star of the story is of course little Jeremy! He's soo adorable!
He's 10 going on 36! Only that he's so much smarter than the average 36 year old. He's a genius!
But he's also very scared to meet his dad and to get to know him.
But Ivi is very good in bringing Jeremy and Tyler together - to talk, play, et cetera.

Then we have a bunch of 'entourage' guys - which every star needs to have. They hang around the house at night to drink and whatnot. Interesting guys - and Ivi is not scared to tell them what she thinks of them. Too cute!

And all through reading it we wonder... why doesn't Jeremy know his dad? How does a supersmart professor end up with a child by a rockstar? Why? How? What? Huh? Grrrr. ☺

And of course we wonder if Ivi and Tyler will fall in love and live happily ever after.....

I really enjoyed this story. It was so adorable and funny and serious and romantic.
Even though the romance part - or rather the sexiness part - takes a while to develop. It's more like a beautiful slow ballad (like November Rain) - not a Ha Ha Ha Ha Staying Alive rhythm! ☺

PERFECT ROMANCE!!!!
A #MUSTREAD FOR FANS OF ROCKSTARS!
FOR FANS OF MUSIC!
FOR FANS OF NANNY-FALLS-FOR-THE-MAN-OF-THE HOUSE ROMANCES!
FOR FANS OF CELEBRITY ROMANCES!
FOR FANS OF AMAZING ROMANCES - because this is really not just your average nanny-falls-for-daddy thingy! It's so much more!! More mature somehow, even though Ivy is still so young, it's not your typical New Adult thing.
READ IT!!!!!

UNPLUGGED was such an amazingly beautiful & different kind of rockstar lovestory! Please run to your nearest amazon for your own Tyler, because this one is MINE! MIIIIINNNEEEEE!!!! ☺ !!

Were there some things I didn't LOVE love? Hm, not really. Maybe there was a bit too much inner dialogue. Too much thinking. And too many big words. ☺

I NEED BOOK #2 NOW!!!! Because we might have a tiny little semi-cliffy! Not really a cliffy - the story is just not finished - it's just getting started ☺

3.75 "rockstar and the nanny" stars

***ARC provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review***

A really nice feel-good and wholesome rock romance, with low angst, low steam and an all around cast of great characters. Both main characters, Ivi and Tyler and level headed and fun to read about. Unplugged is told solely from Ivi's POV and it is part of a duet and ends in a cliffhanger.
Ivi is a simple, fun, smart girl coming from a small town in Estonia. She does a lot of volunteering work all over the world, helping fight against poverty and human trafficking. In order to save some money for her next mission, she takes a 6-month job as the nanny for Tyler's 10 year old son. Tyler is a famous rock star, just getting to know his kid.
This book has a bit of everything: witty banter, hate to love vibes, passion, funny moments. There are a few communication issues but I liked how down to earth and self confident Ivi is. She decides to live in the moment and that is very refreshing.
I also apprecited the commentary on inequality, poverty, the need to volunteer. All in all, a very entertaining and fun book!

Αχ!

“The experience opened my eyes and changed my mindset for the better, I believe. I’ve learned that we should all embrace what we go through because even though sometimes it bruises our souls, it also teaches us that we can survive whatever life brings. And that we were lucky enough to experience it. Have faith in ourselves and others.”

You know you're reading a good book when you wish you hadn't made all of those plans or wish that you could cancel them so you'd be able to read instead. You know it's an amazing book when you can't stop thinking about the book during said plans and are impatient to continue reading. That's how wonderful Unplugged really is.

The first thing that really impressed me was Jeremy/Jer's character. His level of maturity--both in intellectual capabilities and socio-emotional skills--blew me away. That's when I thought, 'Wow, the amount of research that must've gone into this character's fun facts... That's just amazing.' So, kudos to you, Sigal Ehrlich!

Now, the most important part of the book - the romance. I. LOVED. IT. I don't know how else to say it. At first, Tyler Lee Adams can be described as a famous rock star by day and complete asshole by night (which seems to be a trend in romance stories: treat them poorly and have them fall in love with you once you start showing them some decency. Anyway, that's a different topic). But after a while, the banter and sexual tension between Tyler and Ivi is just sizzling, electric, and addictive. You literally start craving the next thrilling encounter between them, like a drug addict craves his next fix. I don't want to give too much away, so I won't comment on the actual romance in the book, except for the fact that I now wish someone would call me Kiisu in that way.

Last but not least, I want to make a note to self -

ANYWAY, I can only recommend it, especially if you're looking for a sweet but sizzling romance novel.

Review to come ...

Ivi is an Estonian girl, looking for a job to help her to save for her trip to Nepal where she hopes to work with a charity called Youth With Purpose to rebuild homes and a school destroyed by natural disasters. Ivi hits the jackpot and gets hired to look after Jeremy, the wunderkind secret child of one of the most famous rock singers of all time, Tyler Lee Adams.

After a rocky start when Tyler thinks Ivi is just another groupie and tries to kick her out of the house, Ivi settles down and builds a great relationship with Jeremy who is staying with Tyler while his mother is in Africa. Guess what happens?

I love me another unrealistic 'normal girl gets job with billionaire rock star despite no experience/ references. I liked the quirkiness of Ivi being Estonian and I could just about allow the fact that she knitted weird knee length socks which she wears ALL THE TIME. But I found the writing too much to swallow. I'm not sure whether English is a second language to Sighal Ehrlich or whether she is a writer who likes to use fancy words in an attempt to make their writing seem more literary. All I know is I have never seen the word "supple" used so many times and in such a peculiar way. Eleven times! "Supple grins", "lips supplely caressing skin" all just wrong. And don't get me started on "The sensation is numbly electrifying" - what on earth does that mean? And how do you "kiss someone profoundly"?

I felt that Sigal Ehrlich was too busy throwing every NA/YA cliche into the pot whilst being Estonian at every opportunity and having Jeremy be a child genius who spouts random factoids to actually give her characters personality.

And there's a cliff-hanger!

I'm sure that there are loads of readers who will love Ivi's quirks and swoon over the bad-boy rockstar with his genius son, they'll love the purple prose and the supple repetitions, just not me.

He was my employer and I’m just the nanny.

But my heart told otherwise…..

Unplugged is the first book in a duet. What this story appears to be, the typical forbidden, angst and against the odds new adult story. However it is far from just that, it a heartwarming sweet book as well. Ivi Kert, is a girl with simple dreams to change the world . Now aged 22 she is still eager as ever though a little wiser and jaded with her ambitions after experience a taste of real life .

She needs money to help with her next mission , knowing that dreams can only get her somewhere. So after a rigid recruitment process she expecting this 6 month nanny job will be for a someone high up. Not expecting to be a music superstar , Tyler Lee Adams, Ty.

Immediately this job doesn’t become a 6 month job just to get money. The job has open the doors to more then Ivvi expected. This job was only a stop gap, for her dreams. But dreams can change?

As the heart is in for a beating as Ivi navigates this new world. She may be a fish out of water but this girl isn’t going to be a cliché. She prepared herself for her charge and to be challenge by him. She isn’t ready for Ty.

Ty the game changer

It hard to describe the story but that blurb does it justice. The author took an idea that we hear played on in the gossip magazines time after time. She embraced the idea and made a heart warming captivating story. This isn’t straight forward romance that is clear cut. This more just a forbidden story who happens to have a rock star.

There is very real lives involved who have different dreams and plans. Humans whose lives are changed the moment they become unplugged from the world they know and thrown into another. Hearts are on the line and dreams. And this only the beginning

Ivi is a young woman from Estonia who volunteers her time worldwide helping those who need it but now has taken a nanny position in the U.S. trying to earn money so she can go to Nepal for her next mission work six months from now. Six months at a nanny position for a little boy who I think is the most adorable kid around. He’s ten but is well beyond his years in a wealth of knowledge. It probably helps that his mom is a renowned professor with one little secret she has been keeping from Jeremy…his dad is the world famous rock star, Tyler Lee. Now that Melena has to leave the country for work for six months and it is no place for Jeremy, he is going to be meeting his dad for the very first time.

Jeremy is scared and nervous with all of the changes but he and Ivi hit it off immediately. Ivi is very personable, funny and caring and has a love for children which is easy when she has a charge like Jeremy she easily falls for this little boy. Speaking of falling how do you not fall for one of the hottest rock stars in the world whose home you are now living in for the next six months?

One of the numerous bits of information that Jeremy shared one day was that the heart can actually break and I have to say that this author had a way of writing this story that you thought at times your heart was breaking. Ms. Ehrlich wrote about love, passion and taking chances. Will the bond that Ivi forms with Jeremy and Tyler Lee be enough to keep her from going to her mission work in Nepal or will Jeremy go back to his mothers and Tyler Lee will continue to be the elusive playboy rock star that won’t settle with just one woman? This is book one in a series and I cannot wait for the next book to come out. I HAVE to know if Ivi and Tyler have an actual chance at anything more and what is Jeremy going to think of all of this if things actually do come out and you know they will because Tyler Lee is front and center for paparazzi. I have just found myself a new rock romance author that knows how to write giving you a glimpse at the rocker’s life along with knowing how to keep you engaged in a book so much so that you feel emotionally invested in this story.

I received this ARC from NetGalley for a freely given and honest review.

"How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard. "

I loved the hot chemistry between Ivi and Tyler. It kept me turning the pages to see how this would all play out. However, Tyler is going back on tour and Ivi is traveling to Nepal for her missionary work. She's in love with him, but he's a rock star and is simply in lust! It looks like Ivi is setting herself up for the biggest heartache ever, especially when Tyler is not offering her anything concrete. Now waiting for book # 2 to sort it all out.

A very different rockstar story. She's the nanny from Estonia. She's hired to tend to a ten year old who just meets his rockstar daddy for first time.
The story is set in Los Angeles and the nanny is set to depart for Nepal in six months as humanitarian missionary.
The boy's mother is in Africa as a professor doing a study. She's actually not a huge part of story but all the components of this story seem unlikely in typical rocker genre.

I didn't find it particularly interesting other than boy meets girl. I wondered why author had to drag into two sections. Likable characters abound.

Ms Ehrlich’s descriptive writing cannot be disputed. She’s set the story in an ambience which couldn’t have fitted the title better since to my way of thinking, Unplugged has two meaning. The musical side and the emotional one. Her two leading characters who come from completely different backgrounds do unplug their feelings; slow-burning feelings which opened up my curiosity. The build-up per se is steadily paced; however, I would have liked a little more angst.

Despite finding Tyler Lee Adams a tad standoffish, my opinion of him changed once I got to know him better. The spoilt Rockstar vibe I had was unfounded since he showed me he was on the ball and always concerned for the goings on in his household. Actually, I thought his problem was no-one really understood the true him. He’s backstory isn’t such a tragic one although it saddened me to discover how his career started and how he’d been treated by his peers. Understandably, he’d protected his son. How he did it was perhaps erroneous, but he’s deadset on making up for lost time.

“Is there anything you don’t like about it?”
“When people think they know me. . . or own me.” “Or put me in a pigeon-hole. . .”

Motivated by past events, Ivi’s determination to carry out plans for the future are noble, exciting and a chance of a lifetime. Ah, but the card of life dealt out to her is unexpected. Now then, it certainly seemed to me she’d landed a cushy number working as an au pair for the son of Tyler, a single father. And I had no doubt she’d make it work seeing as she’s so easy to get on with and so willing. There’s a down-to-earth honest-to-goodness about her that drew me to her instantly. In other words, she could do no wrong for me or the motley crew who hung around with her boss. Lovable guys too.

“Thanks for taking such good care of him. I don’t know what I would’ve done without you.”
“It’s my absolute pleasure.” “I’m more than a little in love with your boy.”

Who won the show had to be Jeremy! He’s old beyond his years and a walking encyclopaedia! What an adorable child and what great comebacks he has. The whole situation is overbearing for such a young child and this is where Ivi steps in. She’ll do her utmost to make sure he finds his place in new surroundings.

“I asked you what you wanted, not what you needed.”
“I’m still trying to figure that one out. Recently, my wishes have been changing.”

What I liked more about this story was Tyler and Ivi’s prime concern for Jeremy. Regardless of their attraction which is indisputable from the moment they set eyes on each other, they always put him first. The ending left me with a bitter-sweet taste in my mouth. It had to happen, I didn’t want it to but a contract is a contract with all the its clauses. Hopefully, I won’t need to wait too long to find out if these two are going to have the ending they deserve in the second book in this duet.

“It’s the unplugged version of you that I’ve been falling for.”

A beautifully written book

I had no intention of reading this book until the second one came out but found myself hooked just by the synopsis.
Ivi takes a temporary position as a nanny to the 10 year old son of music superstar Tyler Lee Adams. This is where any similarities in rock star/nanny books end. Ivi is perfection, loving, funny, sarcastically charming, her goal in life is to save the world one village at a time through the Youth with Purpose Organization, she takes this position as nanny for six months to help fund her trip to Nepal, never counting on falling in love, first with her charge Jeremy, the most adorable brainiac 10 yr old going on 30 you will ever meet, who due to lifestyle decisions by both parents will be meeting his dad for the first time with Ivi. Tyler Lee Adams, will melt your heart and panties and the chemistry between he and Ivi is felt in every scene they are together. But Tyler is a seasoned rock star and Ivi had dreams, so Tyler let's her go, but does declare he wants her to return when her mission is over. Ivi should be ecstatic, but Tyler's manager Eli gave Ivi some unsolicited advice about becoming involved with Tyler and with at least two women she knows of that he's been linked to or wants to be, will she let that keep her from taking a chance? I want this couple to work and can only guess as to how Ms Ehrlich will make it happen, but what I do know is the story will be beautifully written with engaging characters. Can't wait

Sigal Ehrlich is my new favorite Author.

You know you're reading a wonderful book when you aren't even halfway through it and check Goodreads to see if there is a sequel. You also cancel any upcoming plans and lock your door. That is how good this book is.

Ivi Kert has traveled to Los Angeles from Estonia to be a Nanny for six months. She needs to raise money for a trip she is taking with her organization to build houses for those who have lost houses because of a tornado in a South American country. She meets Jeremy first, who is really the star of Unplugged. I picture him as the wise little boy in The Ring Movie. He is incredibly smart and aware and wins over ivi right away. But once she meets Tyler Lee Adams, world famous rockstar and father to Jeremy, is when her world is turned upside down. That very first scene with Tyler Lee is alternatively hilarious and a little frightening.

This is a beautiful romance. There is a slow burn that is realistic and definitely keeps the reader on their toes. I love that sometimes you want to hate Tyler and other times you can't believe great he is. Ivi is unique as she is Estonian and has grown up to take care of herself and not let anyone take advantage of her, including her Boss. Sigal Ehrlich knows how to develop her characters into proper people that the reader wants to get to know better.

This book ends in a cliffhanger, but don't worry! There is a sequel that you will begin reading immediately.

Ivi loves to volunteer and knows where she wants to volunteer next, but she needs money for her trip. She is the new nanny of the ten year old Jeremy, but she doesn’t know who his parents are. She was very shocked when she meets Jeremy’s dad, the famous rock star Tyler Lee Adams. She’s a fan of him and isn’t sure how to act at first. She quickly realizes that Tyler is also an ordinary man. Ivi and Tyler spend some time together and grow closer.

I adore Ivi and Tyler! Ivi is strong, kind, genuine, caring and passionate. She loves her family and hated to leave them to become Jeremy’s nanny. She does a great job with Jeremy and she will miss him when she leaves. The more she gets to know Tyler, the more she likes him. Tyler is a very talented and famous singer. He loves music and his son. He wants to see him happy and gives Jeremy room to get used to living with him. Ivi is different from any woman Tyler has ever met. He likes her and gets jealous easily.

I love Ivi and Tyler together. It’s a slow burn romance, because they both have their insecurities. It made sense to me that it didn’t happen fast. Unplugged is solely told from Ivi’s point of view, but there were still many moments that made it clear to me that Tyler was developing feelings for Ivi. Ivi’s thoughts were described perfectly and she was attracted to Tyler from the start.

I also adored Jeremy. He’s smart, kind and mature. He loves facts and loves telling them to everybody. I loved his bond with Ivi. Jeremy was a little scared to stay with Tyler, but Ivi comforts him. They become friends after the first day. Ivi makes Jeremy open up and makes him do more child stuff. Jeremy is so happy with Ivi as his nanny.

I really love this book. I love all the characters, the way each chapter starts, the music and the superb writing. Unplugged ends with a cliffhanger, but it’s not a big one. I can’t wait for the next part and read how Ivi and Tyler’s story continues.

Tyler was going to be meeting his ten year-old son for the first time. This was not because he was a deadbeat dad being forced to face his responsibility. No, he had been protecting his son from the crazy world that was his life. Now, however, his son would be living with him for the next six months. Of course, this meant he would need a little help.
Ivi took the position of nanny to a young boy. She took the job without much information and with little expectation. She simply wanted the money to assist in her upcoming missions trip to Nepal. She was going to do her job for the next 6 months, then she would be on her way. She did not know she was going to be taking care of the son of a rock go. She definitely did not expect to fall in love with the boy - or his father.

Unplugged is a sweet tale of two people who fall in love with each other, knowing there was a time limit on their time together. It is not the insta-love, but the kind that each character has to take the time to adjust to the feelings. I love how Sigal Ehrlic made Jeremy lovable and quirky. It reminded me so much of my daughter who is the same age. I also loved the tease of the next book. I can't wait to get my hands on it and see where things go for Tyler and Ivi!

4 Adorable Stars!

Part 1 of 2

My Unplugged Review . . .

This was my first Sigal Ehrlich and won't be my last.  I adored this book.

Ivi Kert has a heart of gold and is on a life adventure to help the unfortunate.  However, she still needs money to aid her in the ability to give back to the people who need it.  This lands her in the nanny job of a lifetime.

Tyler Lee Adams is a huge rock star and the last person she thought she would be working for.  For the most part Ivi was a strong character with some elements of insecurities where it came to Tyler.  However, she quickly realizes that we are all the same and need not worry about the little things.

"Strip socioeconomic status, religion, gender, age, and ethnic background off, and you're left with a human.  We are all, after all, the same.  Flesh and blood.  Flesh and blood and oh-so-much drama, kid.  We're all equal; we all wake up each morning and deal with whatever life has in store for us.  Some of us have it easier, some don't.  But yeah, we're all the same, so that's where you should be coming from."

Tyler and Ivi try to fight the attraction to one another but when they realize that this relationship can have a deadline they give in, as that will work for both parties.   What they didn't expect was to feel more than they were able to give.

"Don't you ever say that.  I'm the one who should be grateful for you to be with me.  Maybe I'm good at singing, but you, you're the sweetest, kindest, most genuine person I've ever met. You have so much to offer.  I can only strive to be half the person you are."

Watching these two fall for one another was super sweet and I loved every moment of it.  However, Tyler's son and the relationship between him and Ivi may be my favorite part of the story.

As we are trucking along in this story we feel the end is near which starts to break my heart since Ivi has commitments to others but I was rooting for her and Tyler to find their way the whole time.

"Last night, I told you that you should find what you want to do, grow.  What I failed to say is that I want to be by your side when you do that."

Even though there was a bit of closure we were left with a bit of a cliffhanger and now I'm dying to find out more from these two.  To see if they can survive in each other's worlds and to what compromises are going to need to happen to keep both of them happy.

This is my fist Sigal Ehrlich and I'm so hooked on this story and I can't wait for more from Tyler and Ivi.

"I want you to come back to me."

Can't wait for #2.

How do I even begin? Usually I'm anxious and scared to read a book by one of my favorite authors. I'm scared because I have this irrational fear that this book can't be as good as the last, that it can't possibly replace it as my favorite. I don't have that fear when Sigal Ehrlich releases a new book. I know I'm going to love whatever it is.

Unplugged was no different. Ivi is away from home. She's in for a bit of a shock when she leaves Estonia to live in L.A. She knew she was going to be a nanny to a kid, but other than that, the specifics were kept mum. Tyler Lee frickin' Adams is her new boss. Only one of the hottest rockstars of today. Their first interaction was less than cordial. He told her to call a cab, as in he thought she was a one night stand. When she sets him straight he tries to get someone to get rid of her. Finally realizing that he's stuck with her, he's anything but happy about it.

The relationship that I fell in love with first wasn't Ivi and Tyler Lee's. It was between Ivi and his son, Jeremy. He's a wiz kid. He can learn and recite facts about the most random of subjects. Ivi let's him ramble and go on and loves every fact. I saw this as when Tyler Lee started noticing her. Seeing how good she is with his kid and realizing how she's just a good person in general, it was hard for him to not take notice. Once Ivi started to get to know the man behind the rockstar, she realized that he's just as normal as she is. The way he really tries with his son, and takes the time to really get to know him softens her heart towards him.

This book was everything. While the ending is a bit cliffhanger-ish, it's not one that will leave you mad. It's a good stopping point that gives us time to think about the story, how things progressed, even how they ended. I have hope in my heart that things will go as I want. We all love a good happily ever after. I definitely want that for Ivi and Tyler Lee. Sigal Ehrlich doesn't disappoint with this beautifully written story. The way it all progresses leaves you wanting to be reading every minute you can. This isn't to say I didn't feel some angst. There were times I felt like something big was coming. I even felt as though my heart couldn't take anymore. Nevertheless, I survived. My heart is still intact. I'm now anxiously waiting for part 2.

Unplugged was a story about an Estonian Nanny (Ivi), her fact loving ten year old ward (Jeremy), and his Rock Star father (Tyler Lee). The surprising thing about this father son duo was that up until the day the Ivi arrived to work, they had never met. And the day before that meeting happens, is the day this story picks up.

Thumbs UP

This tale was as much about Jeremy and Tyler getting to know each other, as it was about Ivi getting to know the boys. She was incredibly sweet with Jeremy, who was a lovable little guy that seemed so much older than ten!

The story was only vaguely angsty, and I’m happy to say Tyler wasn’t the cliché I expected – ya know; man-whore, druggy, party animal etc – he was a pretty great guy. He’d been an absent father, but as we discovered, that wasn’t out of neglect and I accepted his reasoning. His attraction toward Ivi was slow building but strong, and I personally loved the build-up of lust between them. Also, did I mention he was handsome, with a man bun and a well maintained beard?

Ivi was pretty fantastic. She was the closest to being a ‘normal’ heroine that I’ve read about in a while. She was fun, friendly, level-headed and caring. She knew when to step away, she didn’t pry, she wasn’t jealous… When I think about it, she was kind of Saintly? Well, except for her rebellious teenage years and all the sex she was having with a certain Rock Star. I also loved her quirk for wearing knitted socks, and her hobby of knitting them.

I guess I just loved that this story surprised me. I expected it to take a certain path, and while it kind of did, it wasn’t completely predictable. And as I said, I enjoyed the slow building relationship between Ivi and Tyler.

Thumbs DOWN

Ivi’s penchant for going braless was a little strange. Well… only when she did it in front of guests, or other household members (who were clearly uncomfortable about it). Must’ve been a European thing?

Sex scenes weren’t descriptive enough. If there’s one thing I expect from a Rock Star romance, it’s hot action in the boudoir! And sadly I was let down by Ty.

Honestly, though I liked the story, I don’t think there was enough going on to warrant a second book. I think Ivi and Tyler could have had their HEA in this story, and I don’t understand why it’s been dragged out to a book two.

Final Thoughts

There was just something about this story that I enjoyed. I can’t say it was the most EPIC love story I’ve read, but it entertained me well enough.

Okay.Okay.Okay. This was a heck of a book if you ask me - except that cliff at the end. Now I am stuck wondering how long I have to wait till Vol 2 comes out !!!! Sigal Ehrlich, you are killing me. For reals !!!

This book, just like any other book written by this amazing lady, has a very bad-ass girl in it which tries to figure out her life. That is, until he comes along....and not just any kind of he. A very sexy and successful he, that has every other girl at his feet. A bad ass rocker. A heart and soul crusher. From day 1, there seems to be a small "attraction" between them, one of which none of them are completely aware of. She came just for a short term thing and now got stuck in something she never even planned.

I LOOOOOOOVED IT ! I NEED MORE OF IVI AND TYLER !!!!! AND SOOON !!!

I wish I could say more, but I risk on spoiling the whole darn book and I don't want to. :)
