High-end finishes — from the fixtures to the seating to the tables — make Local Tavern a wonderful option at Philadelphia International Airport. The bar is well-stocked, prominently displayed and brightly lit, and the menu is designed by Philly chef Jose Garces.

Timber Ridge at Reno–Tahoe International Airport features a great design comprised of natural woods and stones to give it a nice lodge feel, capturing the essence of the Reno-Tahoe area.

Representing the iconic Raleigh restaurant, the airport installment of 42nd St. Oyster Bar features dark woods and metals to go along with a traditional-looking bar. The patio-like seating reminds you that you are in an airport but contains enough fine finishes to feel like a high-end restaurant.

Those with a layover should try the signature drink Moonshine Mule made with Midnight Moon original moonshine, ginger beer and lime juice.

Saison looks like someone plopped a French bistro right in the middle of Newark Airport's Terminal C. Diners order on iPads, and there are plenty of places to plug in and recharge gadgets pre-flight.
