Rate this book
Cassidy and her mystical ring are stuck in the middle of a battle between the Demon World and the Mortal Realm…

A conflict with the demons has left Killian, head of the Demon Hunters, injured and stripped of his powerful Demon Hunter tattoo. Cassidy is tasked with caring for him in the Human Realm until he is well enough to cross back into the Demon Realm. But soon she notices he is acting strangely and begins to suspect something is wrong.

She seeks help from Serena, a retired Demon Hunter, but it’s too late…

Cassidy returns home to find Killian has gone missing. Tyler, a friend with his own set of mystical powers, shows up to tell her that Killian is at his house demanding a meeting with the Demon Queen Rya. She and Serena have to work fast to find a way to heal Killian and get Cassidy’s ring away from him before Rya is involved. Meanwhile, Tyler and his dad have their own plan to make a deal with the Queen.

The Queen has a decision to make, but not before securing her leverage…

Rya wants time to consider the offer presented by Tyler’s dad, and takes Cassidy to the Demon Realm as collateral. The Demon Queen must choose between Tyler, the mate she was promised, and the mystical ring that was forged for her years ago.

Tyler is forced to face the inner demon he has worked so hard to restrain. Will he succeed, or will he be lost to the darkness, leaving Cassidy to be sacrificed by the demons?

As both sides gain alliances, the tension between the realms grows and the time for action draws near…

This book--OMG. I LOVED book 1, but this one? Holy hell, I adored it. Both books must be read in order as they are NOT stand alone novels. That said, is book 3 ready yet? Oh my!!!! I NEED it...pronto!

This book picks up right where the first one left off and is in many ways darker and has more action and drama. Heck, there's even more steam in some scenes. The characters go through SO much that they are, in a way, forced to grow. Poor Cassidy!!!!! Being held captive like she was?? It was heartbreaking to read. Very well written, though! I felt for her. I wanted to hug her and tell her that Killian would save her! Speaking of Killian.... I sure do love him! So protective and all kinds of delicious!!!!!

“Cassidy Kavanaugh, what have you done to me?” I whispered as I looked down at the girl who had found a way into my heart, and each day, managed to impress me with all that she was.

Oh man!!!! I sure was grinning towards the end of this book!! Well, where Killian and Cassidy's romance is concerned because the ACTUAL ending left me anxious and in desperate need for book 3!! To say I am curious to see how Tyler's side of this epic story unfolds is an understatement!! Seeing the new side of him...it's HOT, but I'm nervous! Especially with how the book ended--OMG!!!!

A MUST READ!! Five amazing and addictive stars!!!

I absolutely love these characters and this world D.A. Roach created. This story she has constructed is so original and unexpected and you look forward to what else she has in her mind to devise.

This is the second book in the Demon Hunter series and I am so looking forward to the 3rd. In this story we learn more of the demons and their world. Also a lot more behind what is at stake with these wars and what is Cassidy's and Tyler's roles in it all.

"The scales of good and evil have tipped out of our favor, and we need to set them back before Rya brings Hell on Earth."

This story is written so face paced and keeps you on the edge of your seat. It's darker then the first one and it needs to be because we are in the demon realm. It also fills you with so much excitement as you devour this epic adventure that Roach has taken you on.

I took the story to a darker place. It was necessary to foster growth in my characters and lead them to the next part of their journey. The story was easy to write as there was much conflict & I very much enjoy writing conflict.

Within the Darkest Hollows compliments book one & sets up for the final conclusion that will occur in book 3! Hope everyone enjoys reading it.

Wow, another great book from an awesome author! Love, love, love this story so much!

Oh man, with each book that I read from this series I fall more in love with Cassidy and Killian, their story is so unique and I can't wait to read more of their story. Thank you so much Mrs. Roach for letting me read your wonderful books because I think I have found one of the greatest worlds that has ever been conjured up, and I can't wait to go on this great journey with Killian and Cassidy, to find out if Good will triumph over Evil!

Within the Darkest Hollows is the second book in D.A. Roach’s Demon Hunters series. By the end of book one, Cassidy discovered a new dimension where Demons and Demon Hunters carry out a centuries-old battle between good and evil just beneath the awareness of mortals. Having lost her boyfriend to a car accident and learned his soul had been possessed by the Demon queen Rya, she felt compelled to do something….anything to help the fight and save him with the help of Killian, the powerful leader of the hunters. Surprisingly, Tyler, a half-human, half-demon who had been promised to Rya, becomes a staunch ally in the fight.

During a fight with Rya, Killian is severely injured and stripped of his powerful and protective clan mark, a tattoo infused with angel blood. With his defenses down, Killian’s behavior begins to change, and Cassidy realizes more is afoot than a physical injury. Cassidy seeks the help of a powerful former hunger, Serena, who lives in the human realm but still has powerful spells and potions in her arsenal. All ‘hell’ breaks loose as Killian disappears with the enchanted ring Cassidy’s deceased mother had given her.

Cassidy must get the ring back to protect it from Rya, who is its actual owner. With it, she would have increased power and would be a greater threat to humans. Tyler had also been promised to Rya as a mate, which places him in danger as well. For now, Tyler is in love with Cassidy, and his inner demons are being kept at bay by powerfully enchanted tattoos. He is noble, honorable and unwavering in his efforts to protect Cassidy, but the tattoos, are starting to disappear…

This book packs a punch in plot-building suspense. As a reader, I felt the tension building throughout as layer upon layer of conflict propelled me toward…toward…what? A final conflict is coming. I know it. The characters know it, but what will happen? Will Killian recover? Will Tyler’s dark side take over? Can Cassidy redeem her boyfriend’s soul? Will Rya choose the ring over Tyler? Will she get both? Will Cassidy ever have a home and family of her own? These are the questions keeping me up at night as I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

While not a huge fan of paranormal these days, or YA really, D.A. Roach keeps pushing my boundaries with her books. In this second book of the Demon Hunter series, she's amped up the action as well as the angst by giving us a little bit of a love triangle. This review may spoil the first book.

The book picks up right where we left off, with an injured Killian after the big fight with Rya and Cassidy nursing him back to health. Tyler is still in the clan waiting to get another crack at Rya himself. We haven't heard the last from Rya or her lap dog Jace. She is gearing up for something big, so everybody needs to be at one hundred percent.

As I mentioned above, the action and angst is top notch this time around. D.A. Roach didn't hold back with her characters feelings and the turmoil that surrounds them. Like Cassidy and Killian, I wasn't too sure what to make of Tyler when it was all said and done. He quickly turned into one of those characters you hate to love. He did a lot of changing and not all of it for the better.

In a way, Cassidy and Killian are too good to thier own detriment. They want to do the right thing by thier friend, however it could turn out to be very, very wrong. Rya isn't one to mess with as we have already learned and now that she is that much closer to finally getting her future mate, nothing is going to stop her.

The book is well written from various points of view to keep the story moving along. We see a stronger Cassidy emerge in this second installment, even though it took a bit for her to get there. We also got to know the supporting characters a little bit better this time around and met some new ones along the way. I'm excited to see how things are going to play out in the next book with the shocking ending we got yet again.

Within The Darkest Hollows is the second instalment of the Demon Hunters Series. As a fan of Paranormal reads and having read the first book, Between The Bleeding Willows by D.A. Roach i couldn't wait to delve back into the adventure.

"The scales of good and evil have tipped out of our favour, and we need to set them back before Rya brings Hell on Earth."

We jump straight into where book one left off with Killian at Cassidy's home recovering after having his clan's tattoo ripped off by Rya the Queen of the demons. As the story goes on we find out more about the demons and their realm and delve deeper into each of the characters old and new. Also finding out why Tyler is so important to Rya!!!

"One, two---I am blue, three, four---open this door, five, six---demons are pricks, seven, eight---stupid gate, nine ten---Alone again."

I'm not going to give away spoilers, what i will say is this is a fast paced and darker read than the first, but it needed to be and for me it added a whole lot more to the sorry having the darker side to it.
If your a fan of Paranormal reads i would highly recommend both books but be prepared because book two ends on a HUGE cliffhanger which has left me desperate for Book Three!!!!!

This was first published on my blog " Lecture toute une Aventure"

My opinion:
Good, this second instalment takes place just where first one ended and even better we get several point of view as the action takes place in each realms so we can follow what happen to the hunters compound, in the human realm and in the demons one.
Killian has an hard time to cope with everything but loosing Cassidy is the worse so he is willing to work with Tyler even if he is part demon to save her. In the meantime he is searching for allies to rebuild his clan compound and get ready for the war to come. When an angel comes to help it's great but sadly not enough either.
In this book we get to see another side of Killian too he can be really patient and tender.

Cassidy is confronted to things she never expected and it does impact her deeply but since book 1 we know she is strong so seeing her in such a state in moving. Her courage and determination are really showing as despite everything she still think of others.

Tyler learns more about himself but also meet potential allies in Farron and Siobhan...not a friendship but a gesture of faith in a sense and we will get to see if his mind is as strong as we could believe as he has a lot to face from now on.

Really i enjoyed that the quality of writing stayed the same and to see what happen in the demons realm was really interesting. There were moving moments, lot of actions . We do learn a lot but the author also put the elements needed for the war to come answering questions and adding more as well.

The ending is a bit hard as cliffhanger so i can't wait to jump in book 3

Cassidy is back and the fight continues. The ring that she has treasured all her life is found to be the ring that Rya has sought for years. After their last encounter with the demons, Killian has been left hurt and unable to return to the Clan because he cannot crossover. He has started acting strange and when Cassidy goes to get help he disappears. Tyler turns up saying that Killian showed up at his house saying he wanted to talk to Rya. The alarm bells are going off that something is truly wrong, but getting Killian help will not be easy. The danger is closing in around them and with the numbers of the Clan down, hope is not high but they must try if they wish to succeed at all.
Within the Darkest Hollows by D.A. Roach is book two in her The Demon Hunters Series. For me, this book is a step above the first book. There are more action, drama and more characters given than in the first book. I like that the author seems to have hit her stride and that she totally rocks with it in this book. We get to see some of the fightings ourselves instead of just being told that a fight happened and that now others are recovering. There are some surprise elements thrown in that I feel really help make this book even better. I like that the author tells more of Tyler's story in this book as well. We get his backstory, and Cassidy is really put to the test as well.
There isn't much that I don't like about this book. I will point out that there are some minor editorial issues of either some misplaced punctuation or a couple of misspelled words, but nothing major. I like that this book is more intense than the first and that it brings a lot of action. I will admit that I get a bit annoyed with Cassidy at one point in the story, but I like that the author gets her to pull through with the help of Killian.
I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. The author does an exceptional job with this book. There is tons of action and less setting the stage. I like that some more characters are brought in, new and old. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

I absolutely love this series! I was draw in first thing, as I read the first book, and this second instalment has only made me fall even more in love with the series and author. I had actually not read anything by this author before and can honestly say I will be looking out for everything Roach publishes from now on. The writing is so brilliant.

The pace and combination of detail in both the characters and the world made the book highly addicting. Roach put a lot of time into creating characters that provided us with depth, personality and a true identity. This helped me really get to know them and connect with both them and the story, which is the ultimate way to get me entirely hooked on a read.

I am. Hooked, that is.

The pace blends itself well into a flow that creates a real-life sort of experience. In this, I mean that it feels realistic and as though it is a true example of the way things would likely happen in life. Nothing feels overly rushed and nothing is dragged out to try and fill in detail. It is just natural.

I also loved the concept of the boon. For some reason I am always a lover of books involving demons and demon hunting. There is just something about trying to find an evil masked as nothing more that a normal person.

Overall, this is a brilliant, beyond brilliant actually, series and book. I highly recommend it, especially if you are into fantasy/para reads that involve demons and a brilliant character line-up.

( I was given a copy of this book from D.A Roach personally, so I can express my personal overall feelings towards the book. )

"Within The Darkest Hollows"
The demon Hunter Series.

Cassidy finds herself yet again in the middle of the demon world.
Whilst battling her feelings towards Killian.
Getting captured by demons and trying to save Tyler.
Cassidy has one hell of a story!

You can not help but fall in love with the Demon hunters world.

An Epic second installment to the Demon Hunter Series.
Within the Darkest Hollows is by far a superb read!
D.A Roach presents an action-packed read, that has your heart racing, whilst gripping the edge of your seat.
She writes in such a way that the characters come to life before your eyes. I really enjoy when an author gets it right! And D.A Roach has!
She has spun a magical world that sucks the reader in. She has created full-bodied characters with huge personalities and who are completely loveable. And this is all written perfectly.

I adore Killian's and Cassidy's story, by the end of this book is was ecstatic ( But I won't say why I don't want to spoil it. )

I very much enjoyed Tylers and his role in the book. I am highly intrigued as to whether he can be saved.

I can honestly say Book 3 is highly anticipated!
A huge 5 out of 5 for me!

This book was way too short for my liking. Not that the book was short of chapters or pages, I just flew through it because it was THAT good! D. A. Roach has the ability to create detailed worlds, fantastic and deeply thought out characters and plots that make you hold your breathe in anticipation. I couldn’t ask for a better book to review and who deserves more than the five allotted stars. If I had the ability to review with ten stars, I would. It’s just that good! I cannot wait for Book 3; Beneath A Sinister Moon. I have a feeling it will feel like it’s going to take way too long for my liking to get my hands on a copy!

If you thought Book 1 Between the Bleeding Willows was great you haven't read nothing yet. Within the Darkest Hollows is mostly about Tyler and his connection to Rya and boy did this series take a turn with him. Cassidy gets taken to the Demon Realm and Tyler goes to save her only to be injured and finally have his Demon side let loose. i really love Killian but Tyler has a place in my heart also. i really liked reading about him. I kinda laughed at how Tyler got his wings. The Demon Tyler is appealing for some odd reason but cant wait to see it he can bury it or get rid of it in the next book.

"This is a very well written story. The characters are relatable and believable, and creating believable characters isn't always the easiest thing to do when you're writing in the paranormal / fantasy genre.
You are brought into their world. You will feel for these people. The author brings you love, pain, and fear.
The Chemistry in this book is astounding. It makes you feel things you won't see coming. I highly recommend you read this story so you will know understand what I am talking about, feel the same emotions, and go for a great ride with D.A from Start to finish."

Another amazing book in this series! These definitely need to be read in order to be enjoyed and understood.
I loved that this book was a bit darker and had lots more drama and conflict. I like that the characters were able to grow in this one and show more depth. Cassidy was put through the ringer. And I loved that we learned more about Tyler and what his role is in this world.
I'm super excited to see what comes next and would definitely recommend this one for fans of YA paranormal.

D. A. Roach continues on with holding you captive in her story. When you read the line, " I can feel it inside me, stirring awake, wanting control....." -Tyler", it makes you want to see if his demon has a chance to surface. Then what about Killian and his torn arm? Will he survive and be able to continue as the head of his clan? Cassidy, will she escape the grasps of Rya's hands? All this and more are answered in this part of the story. You are kept guessing, searching for answers. Then there are the surprises and twists and turns that you never see coming, because D. A, Roach is just that good. This book is just as exciting as the first. You will find yourself turning the pages as fast as you can to get to the next part to see what happens.
Cassidy is taking care of Killian while he heals. His arm has had skin graft and lots of magic to help it heal back to as normal as possible. Killian starts with a fever and she gets worried, but doesn't show it to keep Killian calm. During the night, Cassidy has a strange dream about Killian and in the morning she finds Killian acting strange. Maybe he is sleep walking from the meds. So she doesn't think much about it.
Killian disappears and Cassidy finds him at Tyler's house being kinda held up by his father, Killian want sto see Rya and Tegan wants to hand over the ring to Rya. Win-Win situation. Cassidy enters the back to help Killian with his meds and change this dressing. Killian and Tyler have time to get to know each other while they wait for Rya. Cassidy is gathering the hunters and supplies to fight Rya and save Killian.
Tyler confronts his father about who he really is. He didn't really like what he heard, but thought that was it all the long. Tyler does love his father, but doesn't agree with some of his actions. Tyler learns about his tattoos and Rya and how he fits into all this. You may or maynot be surprised on what you read!
As Tegan, Tyler, Cassidy and Killian meet Rya and Jace at the cemetery to exchange the ring and Cassidy (she doesn't know that part), the hunters are hiding in the woods waiting to attack. But it all goes wrong and Tyler finds a new power, Rya takes Cassidy and Killian is held by Jace. The fight and hunt for Cassidy is on.
Now the good stuff starts and you will have to read the story to find out what that is. Can they save Cassidy? Can Cassidy survive Rya's cell? Will Tyler be able to keep his demon hidden deep down inside him? And how will it all turn out? But of course the end is "to be continued" and you sigh an Ugh!
