This is NOT a typical "rags to riches" story!

It's a genuine and inspiring testimony of how anyone, regardless of financial circumstances, can develop trading skills that can generate a powerful source of income.

Over the last couple of years, I have had the privilege to impart my trading strategies to people from all walks of life in Singapore.

Conducted numerous full house seminars and shared the stage with other top trading experts in major conferences such as Invest Fair, Invest Carnival and Trading Summits.

I have been speaking regularly on 938 Live, and have the honor of being one of the most followed persons on InvestingNote (Singapore's 1st social trading platform) where I share some of my trading ideas too.

I have also been privileged to have been bestowed with several yearly awards like Top Trading Representative, Top Cfd specialist and Top Account Growth Achiever by Phillip Securities. 

All these while, teaching people how to find more clarity in the stock market and profit consistently from it in the long term.

Not just make a passive income stream but also change lives.

In fact, it was only a few years ago that I hit rock bottom. I was completely crushed. Yes, the word is "Crushed". You'll soon understand why.

If you should happen to be facing any challenges, whether financial or otherwise​, I hope my story will do its small part to inspire you and motivate you.

Because things can always get better as long as you persevere and arm yourself for the challenges ahead. So here it goes...

As an undergraduate in 2006, I was looking for ways to earn a side income to supplement my living expenses.

I was really fascinated at how the stock market worked. I thought that it should be pretty easy to make some money. Just buy low and sell high. How hard can that be?

So I read up online and attended some online courses. Then paper trade before putting real money on the table.

I made some gains in the beginning and I thought "This was it". I'm on my way to make my first pot of gold as a trader real soon.

No no, I wished. That didn't happen. The global financial crisis hit. I was holding on to a few losing stocks.

Within a year, I lost more than $20k in the stock market. That was a huge chunk of my savings accumulated since I was a child. It was indeed painful.

Then a few months later in 2007, it was a dream come true.....

"Joey, you are hired, get ready to come on board as an intern in 2 weeks time"​ was the words I heard on the phone.

It was Goldman Sachs.

One of the Top Investment banks in the World. I was ecstatic. 

The 8 grueling rounds of interviews paid off. And the role was to be on a live trading floor. Assisting a team Institutional Equity Sales traders. 

I couldn't ask for more.​

I saw millions of dollars traded daily by the institutional funds and traders. It was an adrenaline rush every single day.

I would come back each day with more questions for my mentor traders so I had to prioritize and complete my work fast.

After my stint in Goldman, I found my direction. I became really committed to learning whatever I needed to succeed in the stock market.

As a fresh grad in 2009, I landed my first job as a trainee dealer in one of the local stock brokerages taking home $1599 a month (after Cpf) . It was barely enough to survive. Let alone save.

After about 8 months, I decided to take the plunge and become a Remisier in 2010.

All this while, I have been refining my trading strategy and always seeking to improve my performance and I was starting to see some progress...

Some wins, some losses. But overall, I was still losing money. 

The problem I had was because there were so many things affecting my trading decision. I just did not know exactly when to buy and sell....

To put it bluntly, I was still unsure. Actually, that’s an understatement. It was beyond unsure. The fact is I was "LOST".

I remembered looking at chart patterns. Candlesticks bars. Indicators. So many other things. I was confused.

I thought I knew a lot and it would help. But knowing so much without having a structure actually killed me.

I knew I needed something like a Step-by-Step framework that combined everything together. One that sets out the core precedence each has over the other. One that details the exact sequence on how to trade.

I began to crack my brains to develop it...

I spent the next 6- 8 months back-testing my strategies, writing down all the steps involved and drilling down each step and back-testing again...

All these, just to get the perfect winning combination. Some call it the holy grail.

And when I finally tried to put everything together into a "6-Step" Ultimate Blueprint after about 5 years since I first started.

And guess what?

This time it worked! And that's when I realized it wasn't my fault!

It was because the odds were stacked against me right from the start. No wonder I was struggling....

For years, they have been telling me that I needed a perfect strategy. One with lots of indicators. One that wins at least 80% of the time.

And when I figured out that it wasn't true. I was finally able to break out of the chains and get the results I deserved.

The real problem I had then was the absence of a complete Blueprint. 

A Blueprint with specific strategic steps. A Blueprint I could follow day in day out and make a positive return in the long run.

They were the ones keeping me from succeeding in the stock market.

It was also around that time where I formulated another more powerful strategy. I now call it the Explosive Trading (1ET) Strategy.

Finally, I could see the light. I was like a paralyzed man who was suddenly cured and could run 10km. The feeling was incredible.

I joined Phillip Securities as a Trading Representative at the beginning of 2013 and I knew this Blueprint would help not just me but also my clients to achieve real results in the stock market.

True enough, within a year, and after much hard work, I was awarded the Top CFD Specialist and rising quickly to become one of the top brokers in Phillip Securities.

My personal trades were also becoming consistently more profitable.

I served my clients well and gave them trading ideas which they profited from. Before I knew it, I had a stream of referrals coming in consistently.

That was how I grew my business aside from trading and I owe it to this Blueprint.

It was a blessing and I was grateful to have the opportunity to do what I like while also earning a decent income from trading and my broking business.

But, just when I thought life was good, suddenly, one day, all hell broke loose.

I would say this period is one of the worst periods of my life and there is no way I will ever forget it.

A client of mine had over leveraged and the stock he was holding on tanked massively one fine day in the last quarter of 2013.

He told me he needed time as the losses were more than a million dollars. Yes you heard it right.

I was completely devastated because I know there was a possibility he could just walk away from it and I had to bear the losses.

For those who are not aware, just to share that as a Remisier, we are liable for our client's losses if they were to default.

I had no mood to work and became a walking zombie everyday. My monthly salary was held back by the company due to this losses and my bank account was dwindling.

As the losses were huge, I was paying about $3000 in interest a month for the client. I just couldn't believe it. Paying interest on someone's debt! 

It was like my life depended on whether someone would pay his losses. My first child was to be born in 3 months time. I had no clue what to do.

The client did pay down some of the losses in the next few weeks after the incident. The debt amount came down to about $740k which was still extremely huge for me.

Freaking $740,000.... NOT $74k....

A few months passed, the worst thing that I was praying all along not to happen indeed happened.

The client has decided to take the easy way out and declare bankruptcy. The entire debt amount has fallen onto me.

I remembered crying to my family that very night as that glimmer of hope that I had all along was thrashed​.

I remembered having only $231 in my bank account during the Christmas in 2013. I would say without a doubt, it was the worst Christmas in my life.

I remembered wanting to buy a pram for my baby and the thing is I realized then that I just didn't have enough. How pathetic was I. 

My future was bleak with a $740k debt on me now and my child would be born anytime from now...

After my newborn son was delivered in Jan 2014, I knew I needed to make a decision. I needed a closure. I needed to get my life back up again as I am a father now.

I had 2 choices. I wouldn't call them solutions. Just 2 options to seek a closure.

The first one was to declare bankrupt like my client. But that would mean losing my Remisier license. My job. My passion. Something which I could actually see myself doing for the rest of my life.

This option would be the easier option I guessed. But then, what was I supposed to do after losing this job.

This was my dream job. I had to just let it go?

The second choice was to "FIGHT". To slog. To build my broking business and trade. To pay back the debt slowly.

After wiping out the funds I had retained by the company since I started, the amount of debt would be about half a million dollars.

I wanted to sell my HDB flat to pay off the losses but I realized that it's not possible as it was still within the 5 year MOP period.

I had my "6-Step" Ultimate Stock Trading Blueprint. It had worked before. I was confident it would work again.

But with the interest accruing daily, it would take years to pay down the debt fully.

The other option was for my parents to mortgage their house and lend me this sum of money to pay off the entire debt and I work to repay them..

It seems like a possible solution but I was scared. That was my parent's house at stake. What if I am not able to pay them back. What if they lose their house?

Then one day in March 2014, after much intense deliberation and convincing myself mentally that I could do it, I finally decided to bite the bullet and go ahead with the "FIGHT" option.

My parents wrote me a cheque of $480k with the funds from mortgaging the house. I promised them that I will sell my HDB in 3 years time if I am not able to pay them back the full sum.

I held on to the cheque and walked slowly to my credit department. I thought again if this was indeed the right decision. Should I just backed out? I didn't.

The cheque was submitted to clear all outstanding debt. It was a clean sheet now. No more interest. No more chasing me. No more pressuring me to chase payment from the client.

There was no turning back. The cheque has been cleared. Funds debited. There was only 1 way to go now....

I remembered feeling relieved that very night. There was now a closure to this whole issue. One that has been bothering me for the past 5 months with sleepless nights.

At least, my life no longer hinges on whether or not a client pays his debt. That uncertainty which I had totally no control over was draining me to the core.

I had an extremely clear goal, just 1 goal. And that was to do whatever I could to pay my debt asap.

With strength drawn from my family and new born son, that became my goal every single morning.

I would wake up and think to myself what could I do that could help me achieve this goal faster. I could now carry on my life as per usual but I knew I had to work 10 times harder.

I had late nights almost every single day. Taking concrete steps to improve my trading performance, tweaking my blueprint further and adding massive value to clients.

Long story short, after slightly over 2 years. I have finally managed to clear all my debt . All from my broking business and trading income and I can still keep my house.

I am very fortunate to be armed with my Blueprint that I believe has been developed to the best it can ever be throughout the entire ordeal.

I would say that after all the hardship, refining, tweaking, and back-testing, this "6-Step" Ultimate Stock Trading Blueprint has culminated into a perfect winning system.

So when I could finally breathe and enjoy life a little more, I started teaching a few of my friends and close clients on how I actually traded.

And after seeing their results, I started thinking, hey, this stuff can actually help people grow their wealth. It can actually change lives...

I started teaching small groups of people that led to their success and I shared some of their testimonials online.

And I started getting more and more people asking me, "Joey, please teach me how to trade the stock market". I was swamped.

And that was when I created a program called "Precision Trading Intensive" to impart this very "6-Step" Blueprint - the basis of all my skills, knowledge, strategies and system.
