Royal Disaster picks up a few weeks after Royal Affair with Dylan and Lydia finding their feet after their relationship was exposed to the public, the constant pressure of the press, being in the public eye and also, we cannot forget the email black mailer.

This book centres around Lydia’s integration into the aristocracy (or not) and the progression of her relationship with Dylan. Royal Disaster certainly highlights the class divide and especially that us and them mentality. It seems old fashioned prejudices are rife amongst the blue blood and the prospect of a Duke carrying on with an American commoner is certainly ruffling a few feathers, it seems the aristocracy want to carry on the tradition of breeding amongst royalty only.

“That morning I’d woken up feeling impossibly close to him, like the days was ours, like we could settle into our world. But in the past hour, I’d been reminded, once again, of the ways in which his life was a universe away from mine.”

Lydia really grew throughout this book, her confidence in her work especially, oozes from the pages and with every day you see her get stronger and stronger. Lydia is a woman that knows what she wants, she is fiercely independent and what you see is definitely what you get. Despite Dylan’s pressures for her to become reliant on him our American firecracker digs in her heels and fights his English charms at every turn. The only thing that Lydia wants out of her relationship with Dylan, is Dylan, the money and the status are just an unfortunate by product of the man that she has chosen.

“I’m waiting for the part when I get to support him through whatever it is he’s going through, when I get to feel more like part of a team and less like a…like a concubine…”

Parker Swift does give us some background on Dylan in this book that goes someway in explaining the way that Dylan is. Dylan is an impenetrable fortress, he has many secrets, he keeps everything to himself and carries around the weight of the world on his shoulders. Dylan is a man drowning in burdens whether it be to the aristocracy, to the family company, to his own architectural business or to Lydia herself. There is only so much one man can take and Dylan definitely has choices to make or succumb and take his last breath.

The relationship between Lydia and Dylan is definitely hard fought. With the pressures from family, the public, the press, the aristocracy in general and the blackmailer these two have a lot of fires to extinguish. I will say however, I never once disbelieved the love that these two had for one and other. Knighty and his Damsel’s love radiated off every page and you always knew that the battle for this relationship to stand the course were always going to be from outside interferences.

“I thought the best I could hope for in this life would be flickers of feigned intimacy. That I’d have to settle for the hollow pride of fulfilling those obligations alone. Then you came along. And you started filling in the cracks. You made joy the norm – it was rather un-British of you, actually…”

I loved the way that Lydia carried herself in this book, no matter whose company she was in she managed to stay true to herself and her roots while still being polite and dignified. It is hard at times to remember that she is still grieving for her father while planting new roots in a new country. This is a tumultuous time for Lydia and the constant press negativity, the misogynistic opinions from the blue bloods coupled with their feelings of grandiose and their self-opinionated beliefs all leave Lydia questioning whether she has a place in this world after all.

This was a great second book and definitely no filler, I loved the snippets into the Royals as a whole and this entire book had that regal air about it which is hard to achieve. There was nothing too far-fetched, all plot lines were believable and a natural progression within the story. The underlying threat of the blackmailer had you constantly reading with that sense of dread and being kept in the dark, along with Lydia, only intensified that fear. I will admit I shed a few tears in this book such is the character connection that I have for these two and all I can say is I was so glad for the last few chapters else it would have been a completely different story.

“And the world would learn what I already had: Throw a disaster our way, and see just how much stronger we are together.”

I cannot wait for Royal Treatment, I need to know what happens to these two going forward, with both their lives turned upside down you know they still have a battle ahead of them but am hoping that the intense love and support that they have for one and other will be enough to carry them through. With no support surrounding them, they need each other more than ever.

Royal Disaster, the second installment to the Royal Scandal series by Parker Swift is just as hot and steamy and Royal Affair, but there is the added element of suspense to enthrall the reader and keep them turning the pages.

Dylan is still the hero readers came to love in book one. He is very much an alpha in the bedroom, and dominates all areas of his life with confidence and control. It is clear he loves Lydia deeply and passionately, and so readers love him for his dedication to her and them as a couple. His desire to protect her is still his primary goal, and this is challenged quite a bit in this book. His one attempt to protect her will make readers want to scream, but his past adequately explains the motivation behind his choices. It is clear, as well, that he is just trying to protect her at all costs.

Lydia develops into a stronger character this book. Her love for Dylan makes her stronger, makes her better. She also uses this new found power to make strides in her business world, but not by having things handed to her. She still works for it, and she still demands independence from him. Readers will love her for this. For all the support they give each other, her choice close to the end of the novel will make readers want to beat their heads against the wall because they want her to continue to fight as she has always done.

This story has much more suspense than the previous book. It still has the steamy and intense bedroom scenes with Dylan and Lydia, and the readers get to see them develop emotionally as a couple. Readers also get to that add element of danger, trying to figure out who is sending the incriminating and scandalous photos and videos. The culmination of this danger will have readers turning the pages quickly, and the fall out of the revelation is painful. The reconciliation though is wonderful, and Parker Swift leaves readers happy.

The second book in the Royal Scandal series is entertaining, steamy, and suspenseful. It will keep readers entertained, and leave them wanting the conclusion to Dylan and Lydia's story, which is coming soon!

Well huh. I basically feel almost identically about this book as I did the first book in this series. LOVED the characters and the witty back and forth and dialogue, and generally the chemistry was spot on. BUT, I also got a bit bored in places and wanted to skip ahead. There was slightly less sex I think, but I did get a bit bored with that as well, which does not seem like a great thing for an erotic read. Honestly, I reread my review for book one and could have just vomited it here verbatim.

Sooooo...what can I add? Well, the intrigue and mystery with the threatening e-mails wasn't as prevalent as I expected...and I'm kinda meh on how that played out. Like, I didn't dislike it, but it wasn't as interesting as I had anticipated.

What did surprise me? I had no idea how this book would develop with their relationship, but I kind of appreciated having that bit more and seeing them stumble over obstacles and grow and change together. Some of those obstacles felt contrived, but some were very genuine. I still haven't the foggiest how we're going to get a whole other book out of their story. Maybe we'll finally learn something about Lydia's mother? I keep waiting.

I enjoyed some of the tiny side characters we got more of -- Will, Emily, Mrs. Barnes, Frank.... And the friendships with Fiona and Josh were great (and surprising, particularly with Fee).

I guess the crux of the problem for me is that both this book and the previous one would have been more enjoyable for me if they were edited down...in the end they had great stuff, but they dragged. Which is a shame for such great story potential. I'm still curious about the next book, but I'm going to assume I will feel similarly. Good, but could be better.

OK first off Royal Disaster was everything I had hoped for and more! Me when this gem popped-up on my kindle.

Royal Disaster picked up a few days after where Royal Affair ended. Where did Royal Affair end? You'll have to read Royal Affair to find out. ;-) So if you have read Royal Affair I will say that you will find out who's behind the mysterious email and boy oh boy I totally didn't see that coming.

This book was just as amazing as Royal Affair, there is total HOTNESS, Suspense, Drama and of course more HOTNESS!

Dylan and Lydia are in full swing of being a public couple and yes there are a few people who still aren't happy with a Duke dating an America. However Dylan and Lydia could careless. Now that they have gone public Lydia is forced to have deal with having her life personal and private being thrown into the media. Dylan being the protector he is, is trying his best to limit this from happening.

So again if you want a suspenseful hot royal read then you have to read this book. I found myself not wanting to put down this book. Yes there is a lot of sexy time but there is more of a story-line this time around.

Royal Disaster continues Dylan and Lydia's suspenseful, intense trilogy.

Royal Disaster was a quick read like the first. It maintained its heat, Lydia and Dylan's connection oozed from the pages. It all mixed perfectly with mystery and suspense, threats and royal shenanigans.

I really don't feel comfortable saying any more at the risk of something being spoiled. There is so much to this series and still so much to find out. I can't wait to see how it all ends.

Thank goodness it didn't end in a cliffy! Especially the kind one would normally expect, which I dreadfully expected to happen when things seemed to be heading in that direction... *sigh of relief*

I also love that Lydia is not a pushover and Dylan is not that big of a douche. Excited for the next book!

I am so in love with this series it isn’t even funny. I went into the trilogy actually dreading reading about a rich, aristocratic playboy who had a strict “no commitments” rule, and I was so wrong. I was dazzled by the pomp of royalty, mesmerized by the world of high fashion and fell more in love with Dylan and Lydia together than I thought possible.

After acknowledging their feelings for one another in the first book, Dylan and Lydia now need to figure out how to go forward in a relationship. They need to overcome Dylan’s fears of Lydia falling prey to the paparazzi and Lydia’s fears of losing herself in Dylan. But most of all, they need to figure out who is terrorizing them. Who is invading their private world and intimate moments.

This book had it all for me. It was dirty and it was sweet. It had twists and turns I didn’t see coming. It had characters of so much more depth than I thought possible, and I loved how these people became real to me. The situations were so beautifully described that I felt as if I were there, witnessing everything that was happening, taking in every detail. I became so involved in the lives of these two that I found myself laughing at their banter and crying my eyes out at their heartbreaks.

I fell head over heels in love with the characters, the story, the author, and I can’t wait for the third installment. I look forward to it with a sense of bittersweet apprehension. Part of me is dying to read it. The other part is dreading having to say goodbye to Dylan and Lydia once it’s done because I have come to adore these two and the challenges they face with grace and determination.

Well...I didn't think Dylan could get himself in any worse trouble with Lydia than he did in the first book. Guess I was wrong!

Dylan and Lydia are working on navigating their relationship. Now that they're in the open there are things about Dylan's life that are front and center for Lydia. The press, his aristocratic obligations, and the cyberstalker who likes to play with her feelings for Dylan. It's not easy for Lydia and Dylan doesn't help when he's less than forthcoming about things that affect them both.

It's very apparent how much these two characters need each other, but their inexperience at relationships shines through in this book. When they take a step or two forward, something happens that sends one or the other of them spiraling backward. And it's not until they've completely been gutted that either of them takes a true look at their relationship and finally become honest with one another. It's at that moment where I found myself grasping to that thin thread of hopefulness that these two understand they're stronger together.

I can't wait to see what happens next. Life for Dylan has dramatically changed and I'm hoping we'll see Dylan become his own man and not his father's.

Royal Disaster picks up a few weeks after the end of Royal Affair with Dylan and Lydia navigating their way through the resulting invasion of privacy with their relationship now public and the added threat of the anonymous blackmailer.

The relationship between Lydia and Dylan requires a lot of faith on Lydia's part especially as Dylan seems to have so many secrets, as one is uncovered another takes it's place. Having the insight into Dylan's past does provide some clarity to his actions and need for confidentiality but you can't really apply the same rules to a relationship as you would to business.

Dylan's past history and string of affairs is quite shocking when examined closely, as well as adding further insecurities to Lydia's fragile hold on their relationship.

Royal Disaster takes a closer look at the barriers separating Dylan and Lydia from the class divide, family duty and pressure, vengeful ex's, Dylan's personal history and secrecy. I loved how strong and independent Lydia was, taking control of her career with passion and drive. Although Lydia tries to apply the same passion and commitment to their relationship it takes two people working together to truly make it work.

I adored the friendships within Royal Disaster, Lydia is a terrific people person forming her own family of sorts after losing her father and planting roots in her new home. Her loyalty to others inspires the same type of loyalty in return, although she does have trouble with letting people take care of her having not had much experience with it in the past.

Dylan's character development is a hard fought battle against the ghosts of his past, the mistakes of others and the pressures of his social position. While there is progress it isn't without a few set-backs especially where his family legacy is concerned and the repercussions of his fathers dodgy deals.

I really hated the way in which Lydia was treated by the aristocracy due to her 'commoner' status. She carried herself with more grace and dignity than the people with title and money, proving some gentry live up to their roles as a bunch of entitled, misogynistic, self-absorbed arses. Re-enforcing the us versus them situation.

There are a lot of sub-plots within Royal Disaster but Dylan and Lydia's relationship is the main focus, although I was a little disappointed that there was no mention of Lydia's estranged mother through the narrative. I am desperate to find out who she is, where she is and what impact it will have on Lydia!!!

On the whole, I loved the way Royal Disaster played out although I am a little surprised by Lydia's request for secrecy at the end ;) I have a feeling that request is going to blow-up in her face in a dramatic fashion. I can't wait to find out what happens with Dylan and Lydia next in Royal Treatment.

This is a great sequel. It isn’t a sophomore slump for sure for Parker Swift. Our characters are more developed, more sassy and insightful. We see more growth and maturity as well.

I love how Dylan is schooled by his sister and Mrs. Barnes. he needs a kick in the arse at the end so he could see that needs to be who he is meant to be not what is expected. He needs to love and be loved, supported and find his own way. Dylan needed to be kicked in the butt to see he shouldn’t become his dad and learning that he will not be able to be superman but with the love and support of the right woman will be what he is supposed to be.

The book begins with the threat and how it affects Dylan and Lydia. They are still together and in love. Dylan though is more concerned due to his past problems with the press. He becomes more protective. On top of that he has his dad on his heels, the press on him, the pressure of who he is, the pressure of taking on more responsibility at Hale shipping and not wanting to fail Lydia and he is a powder keg. Lydia is a little closed off as well. She sees all that is going on and wants to be the one he leans on but doesn’t always open up to him either. He is so supportive of her career and believes in her so much that it helps boost her and give her the confidence she needs to push her ideas and career forward.

there is no doubt of their love for one another. They give us some steamy moments. We also get some tender moments and see different sides to Dylan. We see the gentle caring and carefree side come out when he is in Greece. We see his love of architecture as well. He truly is a great guy just being pulled in so many directions and has so many things going on he doesn’t know what is what anymore. With all the added pressure and trying to keep Lydia safe they fail at one point to see each other. They forget that they need each other to lean on or at least for a while Dylan does. Lydia forgets that he wishes to protect her and be the one she turns to. She fails to see that for him he wants to help her in more than just a supportive fashion. He needs to feel wanted and needed. Like he is protecting her and helping her. At times this is missed by her as well.

Lydia does see the different way that his world is compared to hers and at times she has doubts. Over time they do fester and she is overwhelmed but does face them and own her role. She sees what Dylan is facing as well. Their stalker is putting added pressure on them and in the end gets more power than he deserves. Dylan though has some great women to set him straight and see the light. He sees what he needs, wants and desires. He sees that he is his own person and should take on his new role and make it his own and not what tradition says.

A fun, entertaining, sweet and sexy book where we have love tested and characters grow. We have lessons learned and love come out on top. I look forward to seeing what is next for these two fun, sweet and perfect for each other characters as they navigate their way together in the world of titles, privilege, disasters from his dad and allow love and respect for each other guide them. I so can’t wait for the third book.

I enjoyed the 1st in the series, so I had high hopes for this one...which were not totally met.

Don't get me wrong, the 2nd installment of Dylan and Lydia's story wasn't bad...it was just missing the compelling tension of the 1st story in the trilogy. They are together, they are happy. Yes, the threat that was alluded to in the first book is there, but it is really on the back-burner. This book felt like a glance into a couple who was involved happily.

And, I think this missed a lot of the potential angst and drama that it could have included. Yes, I am saying I wanted the happy couple to have things to deal with. Not that I am against them being happy, but the first was so emotional, I wanted the same from this one.

I think the 3rd has a lot of potential, and the set up for it has a lot going on that I am looking forward to. This one to me felt like a really long set up to bridge the action from the 1st to the 3rd. Not bad, necessarily as Dylan is still a lot of fun...and he is hot, and still a dirty talked who is a lot of fun in bed.

I guess, to me, the book was a bit of a let down from the 1st and a good set up for the 3rd. I do recommend it, as I think the time together that was mostly smooth is going to be important for the next one...but this is really a book that is for the people who read the 1st and wants another glimpse of them before the changes happen in the 3rd that were set up in the second.

I hesitantly recommend this book...and I look forward to the 3rd one.

It's a 3.5 btw...

I enjoyed this read. I love Lydia. I love how despite the new transition in her life (losing her dad & moving in another Country) she still manages to stay true to herself... I love that most about her...

It was quite a read. Waiting for the next book Royal Treatment. I can't wait to see how they go from here. But as Dylan said, they are stronger together...

It wasn't that long ago when I read the first book and to be honest I missed these two! This series is definitely entertaining and it has a fast plot that doesn't allow the reader to stop reading.

This one continues the story with Dylan and Lydia going steady. Meeting a few royals, lots of headlines and paparazzi, dresses and ball gowns. It was a nice fast read and I look forward to the final (?) one.

Also, I've finally realized what this series is the love child of.
The Prince and Me + 50 Shades of Grey = Royal Scandal series
Just you know minus the whole prince thing, but replace instead with a duke.
And sorry, spoiler, its a tiny bit kinky. Just a smidge.

Well, I've been waiting for this ;-) and of course for the final part. I really enjoy trilogies and series best when all parts are out and I can immerse myself in the whole story, start to finish. I loved book one, so on to book two.

I feel I know Lydia and Dylan pretty well now, and what a long way they've come in a short while.
Lydia had come to UK for her career, new country, huge challenge and living her dream. Then she met Dylan, known as Mr No Commitments, a playboy dating dilettante....but when he meets Lydia things change for both of them. For her its a whole crash intro to UK traditions, how structured and insular the royal family, immediate and extended, are. For someone from the USA its a real culture shock, and she's worried about putting a step wrong and letting Dylan down.

He doesn't care though, loves her freshness, her sense of fun, her wanting him, Dylan the man as opposed to Dylan the Duke.
He's has some tragedy in his past through his heritage and the way the press (vultures) hounded someone close to him, and that led to his dating ban, his one nights and fun only stance. When he meets Lydia that soon changes, a few frivolous interludes simply aren't enough and he's soon wholly in love with her and she with him, even though its been only a short while.
Now though there's threats again, and he's trying so hard to protect her in the way he knows best, but its shutting her out and causing friction. Someone is watching them, proving he can't keep her safe, that she's vulnerable even when he thinks she's OK ensconced in his own home...Nightmare situation, and adds to the stress he's already under from his family and the family business, alongside running his own successful business. Poor guy, he needs a 36 hour day.

I love both these characters. Inevitable there are comparisons with other romance trilogies, especially those with an erotic angle, but to me this has enough to keep it fresh, to stand successfully on its own. As a UK reader I love that its set in UK, with all our peculiarities, our unique heritage.

I love the way Dylan calls Lydia Damsel, so much nicer that the ubiquitous Baby, that title really grates on me.
Damsel is just so much more nicer, suits the story, suits Dylan and his sense of tradition, even while he's balking against some of it, dating Lydia for whom Tradition doesn't really mean much. He's a gentleman in the truest sense of the word, and treats Lydia so carefully, always protective but without being stifling or presumptuous. He sees her strength, values her ambition, and they make a perfect couple.
Without going OTT Parker brings in some of the media speculation that abounds in this sort of situation, the pictures taken in an unguarded moment that show something that didn't exist, they look for signs of friction, invite readers to speculate on whats going to happen, what Lydia needs to do/needs to change, compare her to Dylan's past ladies. Sadly all that is very true of the UK media, and one reason I never buy newspapers or magazines. The quest for scandal is fierce, and ruins lives, and Dylan is rightly protective of Lydia.
He needs to let her keep her sense of self though, her sense of self respect. One of the things he and I admire is her independence, the way she hasn't taken advantage of her sudden rise to fame, but only takes what she feels is right, does what she feels is fair and correct. She needs to feel she has control of her life and that has been a bit of friction between them, when Dylan's past experience lead him to take action but not tell her about it.
She's also got a thin line to tread at work, with Josh and Fiona who were so kind to her when she first started but could now feel pushed aside. She needs her friends, values them so needs to watch that angle.

Its a fabulous read once more, hot and sensual scenes, very real feeling issues happening both in their private and public life, and I'm looking forward to how Parker finally winds up the story.
Somehow I feel she's saving the best fireworks for the finale!

Stars: five, a great second book and roll on the final installment.

I love me a good royal love story. And so far, the story of Dylan Hale, Duke of Abington, and his common American girlfriend Lydia Bell is absolutely the swooniest, sexiest, and most romantic story ever.

In Royal Disaster, we see Dylan's fears about going public with his relationship with Lydia realized. He initially kept her a secret because he was afraid that if she was hounded by paparazzi and all the other unpleasant aspects of his life, she wouldn't be able to handle it.

Certainly, in Royal Disaster, we see Lydia facing the less positive aspects of a relationship with a royal. Private moments with Dylan are plastered on the cover of magazines. Friends of hers are now resentful of her newfound celebrity. Hurtful untruths are printed about her online. There is a large learning curve for Lydia to overcome, but for Dylan, she's willing to do whatever it takes.

In addition to dealing with her new popularity, Lydia is also dealing with a Dylan that resembles Jekyll and Hyde. There are times when he is the most amazingly perfect man - soft and tender and sweet. Then there are other times - usually after having gone to see his horrible father - that Dylan is moody and depressed and withdrawn. Dealing with him and the paparazzi and her demanding job and then a threat that no one can pinpoint all wear on Lydia.

But there is always Dylan.

He is steadfast in his love and support for her. He never wavers in his feelings. No matter what else is going on around them, they both know they have each other. That constancy from them was my favorite part of this book. It was like, once Dylan went all in, he was ALL IN. It made this sexy man infinitely more appealing.

Royal Disaster is told entirely from Lydia's POV. Dylan has secrets, and because we don't get the benefit of being inside his head, they remain secrets until the very end. Although I get that, there were some times when I REALLY wanted to know what Dylan was thinking. It's all good, though. Because Royal Disaster was an incredible story and I can't wait to see what's next for Dylan and Lydia in their final book.

I read the first two books in the Royal Scandal series in less than 48 hours. The plotline was intense and I was consumed by the couple. I wanted to learn to the truths buried beneath the secrets and lies. I desperately needed their feelings and connection to be true - I wanted Lydia and Dylan's happily ever after.

The second book, Royal Disaster essentially picked right up where the first one concluded. Lydia and Dylan are struggling through the difficulties of being a part of such a public relationship as well as coping with mysterious threats toward them. Dylan desperately wants to protect Lydia but his efforts make them weaker as a whole instead of the powerhouse couple they could be.

As I read, I found myself feeling overly emotionally toward Lydia and Dylan. Especially Lydia - I loved her. From her excitement and passion toward her friends and her career. I was impressed over and over again at how she dealt with all that life threw at her.

Dylan on the other hand.... well, I didn't really like Dylan in the first book. His decision to keep Lydia a secret made my heart ache for her and frankly, he angered me. I thought she deserved better. However, in the second installment, he redeemed himself and I understood why he is the way he is. I found more empathy for him.

Overall, I thought their chemistry and banter was what made this book enticing. I liked these two together. I wanted them to find answers and to get past their problems. I'm not sure what will happen in the third installment but I'm hooked and will look for the new book.

I would definitely recommend checking this new romantic suspense series out.

Royal Disaster by Parker Swift brings us the next chapter in Dylan Hale and Lydia Bell’s story. This time around they are contending with all new obstacles. I must say I found this second book more compelling than the first and starting to build on its own story.

Lydia and Dylan’s relationship is now public and Lydia is finding herself dealing with Dylan’s past, though she knew who he was and what he demanded. Now she is faced with so many insecurities and to top it off, Dylan has many secrets he is not forthcoming with. Can they build a solid relationship with so many obstacles in the way? Add in a blackmailer, and the stress level to this new relationship may just be too much.

As Lydia delves deeper into Dylan’s world, their differences really begin to stand out. The people in his world are not as accepting and remind her she is not exactly one of them. Add to that, the paparazzi is everywhere. They really have no privacy. Though I like how Lydia was in this book, she was stronger and stood up for herself more, Dylan was still at times a bit of a jerk and secretive.

I enjoyed reading this part of Dylan and Lydia’s story. They grew as a couple and really had to learn what it means to be in a relationship. If they would have been honest and open from the start, they may have saved themselves some heartache, but things are not always easy. I am looking forward to the final installment of their story.

Royal Disaster is the second book in a three-book series and the debut of author Parker Swift. I once again enjoyed the cover of this book and was once again surprised by the British hero, Dylan Hale.

Lydia is an American who is trying to make a life for herself after her father passed away from cancer. She had been a nanny for a very well to do family for the summer before starting her life in London as a fashion designer. She ran into Dylan, an architect (and oh by the way, a DUKE!) and the two have had a relationship, crazy as it may be, ever since.

There still is that amazing chemistry between Lydia and Dylan but something is just off. Lydia is trying her best to get Dylan to open up but he still is keeping her out of portions of his life. Now with a crazy stalker, taking pictures of their intimate encounters and recording all of their very naughty love life, Dylan is more on edge than ever. Throw in problems with his father and Lydia is at a total loss of what to do to help Dylan.

Royal Disaster is once again a very fast paced, instant love kind of story. I enjoyed the continuation of it but felt at some points that Dylan was so totally closed off from Lydia, it was like, why is she even trying anymore? There was a little more drama in this book then the last one and I was very surprised at the reaction of Lydia, I just didn’t expect that out of her character. I was pleasantly surprised at some points of the story but I feel like it ended just the way I figured it would. I am intrigued to see how the author plans to end the story with book #3, Royal Treatment.

After reading Royal Affair by Parker Swift I was very eager to get my hands on Royal Disasters .When I got the chance to read it early I was thrilled and devoured this book at the very first opportunity and I loved it !!.

We pick up with Dylan and Lydia from where we left them at the end of the first book very much in love however they are dealing with a unknown person sending them clips of and photos of them being intimate, the press and Dylan family and so much more. A lot of relationships would crumble under this type of pressure but I felt like in this book they understood each other more and was even more devoted to each other . I loved that we got to see them open up to each other a lot more in this book. I just love these two together If I could describe this romance in this book in three words they would be sexy , enchanting and swoon worthy . I felt like Royal Disaster was an excellent addition to Lydia and Dylan's story , no matter what happened in this book and let me tell you , there is not one dull moment and there was so much that could have ripped them apart, I was rooting for both of them and there relationship.I loved every minute of it of this story .

Royal Disaster was such a fantastic read. Parker Swift creates an, addicting , royal drama filled ,romantic story that reminds how amazing being in love truly is !. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book in this series!. If you all these things in your books I suggest you get a copy as soon as you can .

Stand-alone: Mostly - Picks up where Royal Affair (book 1) leaves off but offers enough back story not be lost but definitely better if you read book 1 first. Also, once again a complete story that leaves you wanting the next one.

Royal Disaster starts off a few weeks after Royal Affair ends. In it we see Lydia and Dylan (or DyLy as the paparazzi call them) learning become a couple in the public eye. We see them navigating work, family and social life together. I love that Royal Disaster does not depict this as easy but shows the ups and downs of a normal relationship with added stressors of Dylan's family and the press spinning stories. It was sweet and funny and emotional. At one point I felt like my heart was being ripped out and was literally crying. This book is an emotional rollercoaster that grabs hold and doesn't let go until you're thoroughly spun out. It was amazing! I also like that, although not the end of their journey, Royal Disaster is a complete story about this part of their lives. It leaves you wanting more and wondering what will happen but it finishes the storyline for this book (I'm okay with this type of cliff-hanger). I absolutely cannot wait to read book 3. Great job Parker Swift!

Book two in the Royal Scandal series returns to Lydia and Dylan. The previous books ends with Lydia being emailed pictures taken of her and Dylan engaging in intimate acts and hints that there is more to Dylan than she knows. This blackmail and the pressure put on Dylan by his family is the running conflict throughout book two. We also see Lydia slowly introduced into royal life, including meeting the Queen. Dylan’s younger sister is on hand to aid Lydia and proves to be an interesting side character who has secrets of her own.
Throughout the trials of this book, what I enjoyed the most was how Lydia and Dylan supported each other. While they did have ups and downs, especially with Dylan’s secrecy and determination to handle the blackmailer on his own, they eventually came together as a couple. However, there was times when their arguments seemed a little too over-exaggerated. Despite this, I did like seeing them work through their problems and support each other. Dylan learned to lean on Lydia and let her help him carry some of the burden forced upon him later in the book. It was also great to watch Lydia come into her own as a professional and see her career develop. Like the previous book, Royal Disaster was extremely hot and steamy. Even when Dylan and Lydia had a hard time communicating, they were always on the same page between the sheets!

This is the second book in the Royal Scandal series. The series follows Lydia and Dylan as they try to build a relationship that is destined to fail. It is a sweet story. It is just about every young girl’s dream to meet and marry prince charming. Although in this series Dylan is not a prince, he is pretty close and part of the royal family. Dylan and Lydia first meet at Dylan’s Canadian estate. Now Lydia is working in London. She is enjoying the entire experience. Her career is taking off coming up with exciting business plans for the designer that she works for. She is building new friendships all the while trying to keep the relationship with Dylan away from the trolling paparazzi. However Dylan and Lydia are not careful enough, and blackmail is just one of the many threats to their relationship. Dylan’s need to control is more in evidence in this book. Lydia, a very strong and passionate woman is more than up for Dylan’s overbearing protective ways. The chemistry between these two characters has gotten so much hotter. Dylan and Lydia are the perfect match and balance each other well. The pacing is pretty fast. There are still many things going on and the added suspense makes this story so much more exciting. The difference in classes becomes even more evident as Dylan’s parents disregard Lydia and push for Dylan to form a more suitable match and start working on a proper heir. As the second book of a series, there is not a definite ending but the third book is out so you are just one click away from continuing this series. The character development is growing. We get more glimpses to Lydia and Dylan. I am disappointed that there is still nothing more about Lydia’s mother. She has become this nagging what about Lydia’s mother to me. I really do enjoy this series, but I am a romantic always longing for a happy ever after.

Beautifully written with
easy humor, a touch of suspense and royally HOT chemistry. All Hail Dylan Hale and his creative kinky side! Again, Parker Swift has such a way with words. She takes something so ordinary and describes it in such beautiful and original ways. It's so easy to get lost the story. I was also very impressed with the detailed thoughts and actions of the characters. The when I read Parker's bio at the end of the book and saw she has background in psychology, it made even more sense to me. The characters aren't the list bit predictable, yet their words and actions have a very natural feel to them. There is some light BDSM in this book. I do read a lot of romance books, but that isn't something that I usually get excited about and I don't find any shock value in it. But I SO appreciate that Dylan Hale's kinky side is creative. He really likes to get creative with his bondage, among other things. It breathes new and interesting life into the kind of sex scene than can come across as overdone.
Overall, I'm really enjoying this series and I can't wait for the final book to see just how this all plays out!

All Hale Dylan and Lydia

This book continues the story of Dylan and Lydia trying to figure out their relationship in the eyes of the media and the outside world. There's the incident with the email and trying to figure out who sent it. Trying to impress the people who think you don't belong.

I felt Dylan missing. He was so busy and I needed more. I needed his and Lydia's cheeky remarks and playfulness. I understand Lydia and admired her tremendously. She never changed who she was. I liked that she had her own life and refused to use Dylan to gain certain luxuries.

There was one thing I felt through out this book and it was trust. Completely. She never doubted him once. When most people would have freaked out and lost it, she was calm and rational and knew what her and Dylan had could withstand anything that came their way. They loved each other fully!

I can't wait for the next book. I want to see how their future plays out!

Oh! Dylan is still dreamy and can bite, spank, and lick anyway he wants to!
