5 STARS!

I was seriously looking forward to this book so much... especially after we first met Vivian and Radmir in the last book. My expectations were high that I was prepared to be disappointed but this sexy Russian and his feisty American blew me away!

Radmir and Vivian fell in love over 5 years ago and were inseparable. Radmir did not care or want anyone but Vivian and Vivian had never loved anyone as much as Radmir. However, there is someone who does not want them together, and frames Radmir for a crime he does not commit which leads to prison. Radmir believes Vivian betrayed him and Vivian is not sure why Radmir hates her. It seemed their love for each-other would not be enough to keep them together.

"I fell in love with Radmir, but it seemed like our love only punished us and scarred us for life."

Once Radmir is released he vows to make every single person responsible for putting him in jail pay. Once he finds out the truth about Vivian, he is set to make thing rights and a new love blossoms. Radmir is possessive and an amazing protective alpha. I loved him so much!!

"No one hurt what was mine and got away with it. Everyone would pay for every tear my woman spilled."

The characters were great, we got glimpses of our favorite Bratva members including Dom, Vitya, and Michael. Overall an amazing read with an epic epilogue!

“Was there a love story in this world that had no tragic elements to it?”

All I need to know are Bratva and Cosa Nostra and I'm sold. Definitely my kind of read.

I've read a lot of Russian mafia and I've never really thought about a Sovietnik's position, the left hand of the Pakhan. It's usually the pakhan, the enforcer or the ghost that I read about and that's what is different for me.

The start of the story were a little too fast paced for me, but the intensity and the chemistry of the characters are there. Felt and connected. The flow of the story though is recount of past and the present.

I had a hard time getting into at first as hit one of my pet peeve, especially that I have to go back and forth just to make sure I'm following the dates. But after that, well it has become a joyride. I like the character development, and although the brotherhood is a little bit of overwhelming for me since this is my first book of the series, it was still fun.

I think what hooked me is that it just have the right amount of angst, killings and humor that makes this book worth reading for!

This story was not what I was expecting. The H was possessive and obsessive of the h. However, there were some things that I did not like such as the scenes with the kid and the multiple other relationships that were being set up for future books. I also thought that the villain in this story was too much like the one in the last book.

📖 what is it about?
Radmir was sentenced to prison for a crime he did not commit. After 5 years, he's finally free and he's going to get vengeance on all those who betrayed him and put him in prison, especially the girl he used to love, Vivian.

[It's hard to tell more about this book without spoiling to much]

💭 my thoughts
I'm a big V.F. Mason fan and I've read and loved almost all of her books. I love her anti-heroes and strong female heroines. And this one did not disappoint.

I loved Radmir's love for Vivian and especially with his feelings of betrayal towards her, he still did not stray!

[UGH I CAN'T SAY MORE BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO SPOIL ANYTHING.]

I'm a huge fan of Mason's and I look forward toreading her words. Radimar was introduced to us in PR while serving time in prison for a crime he did not commit. He come across hard, ruthless & dominant. I could not wait to get my hands on his story. I was looking forward to seeing how he would handle his woman and remind her of her place. That's exactly what Radimar had planned to do himself upon his release, until he seen his Vivian and learned of his son's existence. Radimar's dominant side was almost non existent when it came to Vivian. I was a bit bummed and was not expecting such a soft side to him. Mason does not disappoint though. This is still a fabulous story about Radimar and Vivian just not as dark as I was expecting. Betrayal, loyalty, lies, deceit & heartbreak are all part of this couples story.

These are my Happily Ever After Novel Thoughts...

I thought this book would be a great read for me. I love mafia, but I just couldn't get into this Bratva. This story felt a little to wordy, almost like an overload of details. I also didn't like the jump in timeframe that happened almost every chapter and POV changes mid chapter, sometimes more than once.

I know there are others out there who love this book, but it wasn't for me. I was able to predict a great deal of it, including who the bad guy was.

Give it a shot and maybe you'll find a Happily Ever After.

This is book three in the Pakhan series. I only read one of the previous books and wish I had read both books before jumping into this one as all the names were confusing and my mind was dizzy thinking about who is who.

Vivian runs away from her family. She needs time to breathe, to find herself. She gets so much more when she meets Radmir (Sovietnik). Radmir is part of the Russian mafia. He gets what he wants and that's Vivian. Unfortunately lies and secrets tear them apart and keep them apart for too long. Can their love overcome it all and bring them back together?

If your looking for a well written mafia romance then I highly recommend you give this book a chance. Although it can be read as a standalone I think reading all three books will give you so much more of a great story.

There wasn't as much angst in this book, but I still loved it.
Radmir and Vivian went through hell and back for each other. Their love is unbreakable. Untouchable really. With everything they went through, they came out stronger than before.

If you have read Paskan then you already know part of the story, but it doesn't tell you how it begins or how it ends. This story does.

The passion between Vivian and Radmir is intense, full of fire and misunderstanding. I loved the way they met and how a small rebellion let to this all.

3.5 Stars for the Sovietnik! I was waiting a little bit more here... Also, Vivian was not my fav girl. Sorry.

Truth is I’m a still obsessed with the twins so I couldn’t appreciate Radmir how he deserved it. Overall, I enjoyed it.

I will come back later to talk more about it. But now, moving onto the next book.

Sovietnik's Fury is the third book in the Pakhan's Series. It Can be read as a Standalone but, i would recommend you read the Series from book one to fully enjoy the experience of these fabulous books. It wouldn't cause any problems in your reading experience starting with this one. But i feel it would leave you very intrigued in the first two books. And if you're like me i prefer to start at the beginning if possible.

With that being said i Couldn't wait to get my hand on this book. I was so intrigued by Radmir and Vivian's story from the hints we got in Pakhan's Salvation. And as always V.F. Mason did not disappoint!

Vivian and Radmir meet when Vivian is trying to escape from under her fathers rule. Fed up of always being the good dutiful daughter with the final straw being the arranged marriage! She jumps on the first available flight, which is to Moscow.

It was most definitely lust at first sight the moment Radmir saw Vivian boarding the same flight has him.
"Krasivoglazaya"
"Beautiful-eyed"
Their connection was instant and although Radmir was hard and controlling with everything around him. With Vivian we got a much softer side showing so much love and devotion to the only woman who could hold his heart forever.

The relationship moved quickly within a couple of months until the day came when Vivian's father arrived demanding that she return to the States with him. Not wanting to cause problems for the Bratva she reluctantly returns with Radmir vowing to come get her!!

But there is more at play here and someone is watching and wants to keep them apart. Directing their moves like a chess game with their ultimate prize being Vivian. And nothing is going to stop them from getting what they want.

This leads us to an interesting tale of twist's and turn's, with misunderstandings. Radmir being sent to prison for a crime he didn't commit with the understanding that Vivian betrayed him. On his release he vows to get revenge on All that had a hand in setting him up. But all is not as Radmir thinks and he has to play a clever game to save his heart!!

"No one hurt what was mine and got away with it. Everyone would pay for every tear my woman spilled."

I highly recommend Sovietnik's Fury and the Series. I am very eager for more of this world that V.F. Mason has created and can see so many stories developing that has me shouting gimme gimme GIVE ME!

My Thoughts:
This is the first time I have read anything by this author and I am in the minority in my feelings for this book. We all read the same book differently and maybe if I had read the Pakhan duet, maybe I would feel differently, but I don’t think so. This could be read as a standalone, as it dealt with the love story between Vivian and Radmir, the Sovietnik.

I really wanted to love this book, but it just felt off for me. I didn’t like the past and present transitions as it made the book not flow well for me. The characters were not as strong as I would have liked them to be. Vivian seemed a little wishy washy. Radmir was a true alpha, but he had a tender side that only Vivian and their son saw, that I loved. The story has suspense, a love story with off the charts chemistry, insight into the workings of the Bratva and family drama.

By all means, read all the reviews and remember that this is just my opinion. If you like mafia romance, give this book a try.

This book has been on my want list for a long time and reading it has been a dream!! A total dark, delicious yet naught wet dream.
Radmir and Vivian fell in love over 5 years ago. Radmir hasn’t wanted anyone but Vivian and Vivian had never loved anyone as much as Radmir. Now this is where the villain keeps them apart and as it happens, the villain doesn’t want them together and frames Radmir for a crime he does not commit which leads to prison. Radmir believes his lady love framed him for this crime and has vowed payback against Vivian while Vivian is not sure why Radmir now hates her. But then we see all is not as Radmir was led to believe but will Radmir be willing to see beyond the lies and listen to t he truth?
I loved the glimpises into the past which show Radmir & Vivian’s love story – the before and the present. I love seeing Radmir’s uncertainly shine thru while Vivian didn’t know what to do…except hold on for the wild ride. Their love is truly enduring and everything they went thru is shows the love between these two characters. Also, get ready for there are so many twists in this story to keep up with all that is going down. This couple are anything but over. Radmir wants his woman and will go to any length to keep her, whereas Vivian has a child to think about and knows that Radmir's world is dangerous. Will this couple be able to make it or will the villain have done what they succeeded to do? I cant tell you for that would be ruining their story…for it is an awesome story. I loved every moment of this emotional roller coaster of Radmir and Vivian’s 2nd chance love story. It is emotionally gripping and definitely suspenseful yet full of love and sexual tension and passion. I loved every moment and cant wait for more in the Pakhan Series by V.F. Mason .

Oh Radmir, how I love this man, to be honest I’ve loved every one of the characters in the series, no matter how damaged they are. The injustice Radmir suffered was heart breaking, and who would have thought injustice and a mafia man would be in the same sentence!

After getting glimpses of Radmir in previous books, I really needed his story, and that is something this author does impeccably well, she gives you just enough of a taste to get you hooked, and yes now I need Yuri’s story! She has a fantastic ability to give depth and realism to her characters, and make you fall in love with them regardless of their circumstances.

This book was addictive from the first to the last word; I did not want to put it down. Radmir, as you’d expect from the Russian Mafia Sovietnik was a true alpha male; possessive, protective, loyal and dominant are just a few words that describe his character, oh and of course sinfully hot. Vivian was beautiful, inside and out, she made choices that some people may question as potentially weak, but for me, they were acts of complete selflessness and done only to protect those she loved.

This book had me feeling a range of emotions, I laughed and cried and got angry and frustrated. The suspense that the author built surrounding ‘the Director’ was fantastic, I’ll admit I did manage to deduce who it was from about 60%, but that didn’t take away from the story and if I’m honest it added to the suspense as I knew who it was but they didn’t, argh.

A dark romance, with a HEA, this is not your hearts and flowers fairy-tale, but it was Radmir and Vivian’s fairy-tale none-the-less. I love how the epilogue’s in this series are all set 20 plus years in the future, I love knowing how things pan out for the characters, and am hopeful that this author will give me not only more stories from the adult characters we have met and grown fond of, but also stories from the next generation, fingers crossed that’s the reason for her 20 year plus epilogues.

I wasn’t sure what to expect. Haven’t read alot of Mafia books outside of Kathy Coopmans Empire series so am always a little nervous going into them. This one though VF Mason did a great job with. You can feel the anger and betrayal Radmir felt. He went through a lot in this book. His pain is palpable and watching him cycle through his emotions and work through things is fascinating.

Radmir was betrayed in many ways. His uncle was the worst of them in my opinion due to his doing nothing to help him. He let him suffer and treated him like scum on shoe and to me that is wrong. So many hide things from him that it is hard to see which way to turn for him. I do love though how he finds a way through it all. How he lets all his anger and emotion shine through but also his sense of honor is incredible.

Seeing him go through the journey he is on to find out why he was in jail all those years and his revenge on those who helped was intriguing. His complex relationship with his mafia family but also vivian was intriguing. And the danger that Vivian and him were in throughout the book was a great twist especially when it is revealed who and why. Not expected at all wow there.

Radmir is kind underneath the gruff interior. He went through alot and still is reeling from it all. His love is all encompassing and his attraction to vivian is felt from the beginning. Seeing him and vivian learn the truth about all that was hidden from them both and all they went through was heartbreaking.

Vivian is a strong character. She works hard to be a good influence and show how to be strong for others. Her love is unconditional and she goes through a lot and sacrifices much to be where she is. Watching her with Radmir was sexy and fun. She stands up to him more now and isn’t afraid to let him know her feelings and where she stands on something.

The story is intriguing and beguiling. You can never really know who is the one behind all that happened to Radmir and why until the very end. There are so many who could be and it just gets you reading more to see who it is kind of like playing clue. You can’t stop until you know. Watching Radmir and Vivian build a life again and explore who they are once more is alluring. The story keeps you in the moment and wanting more as you follow them through exploring their love, where they belong in each other’s lives and trying to solve who is placing them in danger and why.

Sovietnik's Fury by V.F. Mason is a passion-filled story of revenge, love and healing. Radmir and Vivian's sexy and suspenseful story told the heartbreaking journey of two people who found a love that defied all odds.

I love Mason's writing style and the way she lays out the story. Going back and forth between the past and the present seamlessly, she gives the reader the best parts of Radmir and Vivian's journey. My favorite parts of the story was the pieces of the past, when the two of them first met and their connection was established. I loved the fire that existed between them, and loved how neither time nor distance could diminish it. This story was an emotional one, as both characters had to come to terms with what they had gone through individually and as a family. Both characters were well-developed and the author did a great job showing rather than telling when it came to their devotion for each other. Mason's heroes are always so incredibly possessive and determined, while her heroines are a great mix of softness and strength. Radmir was so loyal and faithful, and Vivian held a quiet strength, never losing faith in him or their love.

The story had a great mix of suspense and romance. With an unknown player pulling the strings for his sinister goals, Vivian and Radmir had a lot to battle against. Throughout everything they went through, the love between these two amazing characters was always there. I loved seeing the supporting characters from the previous books, who made the story even better. I also really enjoyed the epilogue, which brought everything together and gave us a glimpse into the future generation of the Bratva. V.F. Mason has developed such a great series with these books and I am so excited to read the rest of the characters' stories.

Firstly, I love the cover, yes I too wanted his beard to run between my legs just like Vivian, wow their passionate scenes were H.O.T.!

Sovietnik does have immense fury, anger, betrayal but his ultimate love for Vivian and the need to protect her made him the champion. The way the author told their love story between the past and present seemed to entwine without breaks, it simply flowed perfectly for me. I do not normally like going backwards and forwards but I found in this story I was hungry for everything, their history, the plotting and I had questions and all were answered.

Well done to the author, I did not pick The Director, I had a hunch but until it was revealed I was still second guessing myself which in the end provided a great twist. There are also other great small stories within this suspenseful journey especially with the Sovietnik's family, Vivian and her sister and parents too that I loved.

The Sovietnik does get his revenge, it is at times dark, raw and gritty but done with total relevance to the story and I was with him every step of the way considering the injustice served to him. I did also enjoy the friendship with his group of men and I found the Russian mafia story easy to follow. I also really loved the endless protection and moments of humour given particularly between Vivian, Jake and the Russian men.

I literally picked this up and could not put down, it had me gripped to the pages, second guessing myself and then falling in love all over again with Vivian and the Sovietnik like they did 5 years earlier.

The Epilogue is brilliant and left me totally satisfied with the conclusion to their love story.

Sovietnik’s Fury by V.F. Mason, my first read by this author, was quite the surprise read for me. It starts out with a bang, literally. Fast forward five-years and we get a story of revenge, forgiveness, heartache and love.

Imagine a love so strong, you could not see a life without the other in your life. Vivian and Radmir had a love like that. When they met, they fell hopelessly in love. They were ready for a future together, until Radmir is convicted of a crime he did not commit. Worse, he believes Vivian betrayed him. Five years later, he is a different man, a man without a heart and vowing to get revenge from all who wronged him.

I loved Radmir. He was such a possessive and protective alpha, but he also loved with everything he had. Vivian was strong and determined, but had to make some hard choices. Together, Radmir and Vivian were hot and steamy. Even after five years, they could not deny what they mean to each other.

There was so much misunderstanding and miscommunication and manipulation by others, Vivian and Radmir had to fight their way to the truth. Vivian never understood why Radmir never wanted to see her after he was sent to prison. I loved their story and was pulled in right from the start. I found it unique and intriguing.

I found this story suspenseful and consuming. There was danger and twists at every turn and I could not wait to see how it would all end. I loved the story and the characters. The story flowed well and I loved getting a look at their past and how they fell in love. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.

Radmir is the Sovietnik, the Russian mob's equivalent of a second in command. Radmir has been in prison for six years without contact of his comrades or his woman. When he gets out, he wants revenge.

Soietnik is a well written, well balanced novel of mob intrigue and romance. Written half and half between what is currently happening and past events that shaped the characters, even if you haven't read the first two in this series (which I haven't but that WILL be corrected) you can easily fall into and fall this book. Radmir is a alpha male with a good heart and an even better head on his shoulders. Ms. Mason wrote her lead as a steady, smart man even when he burns for revenge. Vivian, Radmir's fiancé is a complicated character. While she is a young woman trying to break from her overbearing family, she is slightly reckless yet not wild. When she finds herself in Russia, in a mob compound she wonders what she was thinking but rolls with what life has surprised her with. When she finds her life falling apart and Radmir's friends turning their backs on her, she shows just how smart and resourceful she really is. She is a refreshing, thoughtful, capable female character

The schemes and machinations with the mob is a deftly woven tale that only adds to the romance of the story. VF Mason's secondary characters are colorful and interesting and add another layer of depth to the engrossing story.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

Vivian ran away from her family because she was terrified of what they wanted to do to her. She ended up running straight into the arms of a gray-eyed strangers. He taught her how to love and created a cocoon around her heart that nothing could break. Then her past came crashing back when her family finds her. They have destroyed her life by manipulating the situation in their favor. To save the man she loved she had not choice but to betray him. Now he is out of prison and she knows he is coming for revenge. All she can do is pray for mercy.

Sovietnik was in prison for five years for a crime he didn't commit. Everything he had was stolen from him. So many people to seek out revenge on but he is starting with the woman who betrayed him the most. The woman he loved more than anything in the world. The woman who occupied my thoughts all the years I was in prison. He is coming for you Vivian.

I think I should have read the books that came before this book because keeping up with who was with who and who they were was terribly confusing to me and took away from this book. Therefore it didn't get the five star rating it probably would have gotten if I hadn't had to figure out who was who and what was happening. I like this story but just feel like I could have liked it more. If your going to read this book I suggest reading Pakhan's Rose, Pakhan's Salvation and then Sovietnik's Fury. It's a great love story if I just wasn't so distracted.

***ARC provided in exchange for an honest review - Naomi / Scandalous Book Blog***

I was hooked...The cover is amazing, the synopsis was intriguing and the story was hypnotising.
I wasn't sure what to expect with this book, I knew there was going to be anger and revenge but surprisingly the thing that jumped out the most was LOVE!!!
I loved the characters, they were passionate and very raw, their story was captivating. The best thing about this book was it was told in duo POV and it included present and past.

Radmir was sent down for a crime he didn't commit, now he is a free man and looking for revenge. So many people played a part in his sentencing but now he is asking questions and nothing adds up. He lost his best friend to death and the love of his life through deceit.

Vivian was running from her family, wanting to make her own choices and fell in love all at the same time. Not everyone was happy for her and soon everything was ripped away from her.

There are so many twists in this story, you will find yourself turning pages faster than you can read.
This couple are anything but over. Radmir wants his woman and will go to any length to keep her, whereas Vivian has a child to think about and knows that Radmir's world is dangerous. Little does she realise that his world may be the safest place for them all.

This is their story to tell, so I wont spoil it for you. Go in with an open mind...From Russia with Love!!!!

Sovietnik's Fury

So I loved this book -- I wasn't sure if I would but I did. Vivian and Radmir were brought to us in the previous release. I loved these two and what had been brewing so getting to their story was a treat. You quickly move from 2011 into 2017 -- and holy smokes ...

Our lead characters-- well these two fell in love and were each others world. Both only wanted each other and only had the others best at heart. Their bond was inseparable. But then ... Radmir was convicted of a crime he did not commit. Thinking that Vivian betrayed him -- Radmir's heart turned black. He would avenge his friends death no doubt and figure out who sent him the message that night. No out of prison -- revenge will never be as sweet.

Not knowing why the man she gave her heart too has nothing left for her Vivian is lost. Radmir only wants his revenge -- from this point the story really takes off. I wont tell you whether or not the truth comes out but things were very heated. We were revisited by previous characters and I loved finding out more about those I thought I knew.

Fantastic read and wonderful storyline. I really loved Radmir and how he was written. Great job keeping him in his real form and true to his intentions. Thank you for the ARC! Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets.

Sovietnik’s Fury by V.F Mason
5 star
Reviewed on behalf of 2 girls who love books
Sovietnik’s Fury is the third book in the Pakhan Series by V.F. Mason.I love mafia novels and although I haven’t read the first two books in the Pakhan series I loved this book! I think it is easily read as a standalone but I definitely want to read the rest of the series now! I also LOVE the cover for this book too!! This is also the first time I have read anything by this author but it certainly won’t be the last!
Vivian and Radmir had a fantastic chemistry between them and they really did love each other! I loved that this story was a mix of past and present for both of the characters even if it take me a bit of getting used to! The suspense in the story was great; I honestly couldn’t work out what was going to happen!
Radmir was just amazing! So sexy and protective but he also wants his revenge! He wants to find out who sent him to prison and he will make them pay!
I felt sorry for Vivian at the start of the story, forced into something she didn’t want to do and she really did love Radmir!
This story has completely got me hooked on this series and I look forward to reading the other books in it! If you love Mafia stories and all that goes with it then you will not be disappointed with Sovietnik’s Fury!!
