Fresh Start for Feisty
Donation protected
Feisty is a 3 year old bearded dragon my boyfriend and I adopted from her previous owner. She's a happy and lively girl whose hobbies staring existentially out the window, and tangling herself in my hair. In a short space of time, we've really grown to love her attitude and, of course, her cuddles.
When we collected her, the previous owner admitted that due to personal circumstances he hadn’t handled her in over a year. We initially thought that was the extent of her issues. It soon came to our attention however, that something was seriously wrong.
Sadly, when we took her for a check-up at the vets, we found a lot of evidence of serious neglect. Her previous owner had failed to keep her on the correct diet, causing malnutrition, which has led to partial paralysis of her back legs. The vet also found a problem called Follicular Stasis, also caused by lack of calcium, where her ovaries haven't released eggs, causing swelling on her internal organs.
Suddenly our feisty girl needs surgery, to prevent her ovaries swelling further and haemorrhaging, and sadly at the moment we just can't afford it.
We don't want to give up on Feisty, with possibly another 5-7 years to go, we want those to be happy, healthy years. We've set this page up in the hope that we'll get enough money for the crucial surgery she needs, so we can get Feisty to be feisty again.
Any donations would be graciously received, and we're grateful even if you've just checked out our cause.
Thanks to all and have a great day!
