And Ben Schwartz, Bobby Moynihan and Kate Micucci

It seems these days that revivals or reboots are dime a dozen, even among classic animated series, but we have to say that the DuckTales reboot really seems to be off to a good start.

For one thing, there’s that cast, featuring the nerd world’s most famous Scotsman in the role of Scrooge McDuck, and a host of character actors from a host of nerd sitcom favorites. For another, Disney is keeping the infectious original theme song. And now there’s our first look at the new show’s characters and story, about three nephews motivating McDuck to get back to his old adventuring ways.

And it’s not just Scrooge. “Donald Duck is one of the most daring adventurers of all time,” crows Kate Micucci’s Webby Vanderquack, and she’s probably not talking about Kingdom Hearts.

Although, you know what, that would be a pretty amazing twist.

DuckTales does not have a release date yet, but is slated to premiere sometime this summer on Disney XD.
