AC jade is a new author with a passionate and gentle heart. I know this because it shows in her writing. The Foreigner is an exciting story about a young Philipino lady that finds herself caught in somewhat a love triangle.

It's a great read for those who are fans of the Harlequin Romance series or Danielle Steele. The story will leave your heart beating, believing in love again.

An enjoyable read. Sad, but a good HEA. Could have been less descriptive and more sensory. The heroine was pushed around too much by her circumstances, I thought, but I chalked it up to her upbringing. Overall, I would recommend.

I received this book from eBook discovery for a voluntary, completely honest and non-incentivized review. This is my first read by this author and it won't be my last. I loved the rawness of the MC's-all of them. I appreciated the turmoil and emotions shared. I'm sincerely hoping Jade writes a follow up because the ending left me a bit lost and needy. That would be my only reason for not giving it a 5. I would have been happy with an epilogue...just saying.

Jasmine Lao is a nurse who has come from the Philippines to the US to become a doctor. Yet one night she stumbles upon The Bookstore where she is introduced to a whole new world that she was not expecting.

There she she sees a man and the chemistry is instant although they are both wearing masks and she doesn't know who he is. Then while working she meets Steven Gates, a man with cancer whom she hits it off and soon the two begin a relationship.

But Steven has secrets and soon they are revealed to Jasmine and she feels her life slip from out from beneath her. Then when things are finally in a good place everything disappears in an instance and Jasmine is left picking up the pieces but this time with help from Steven's brother, Nigel.

Will Jasmine be able to figure out where her heart resides and be able to pick up the pieces and find the place where she belongs?

I enjoyed this story but at times I found myself a little lost, especially at the beginning with The Bookstore. I knew what kind of club it was but I was unsure of what Jasmine had really done while in there besides dance.

Jasmine was hard working yet I think her sheltered life led her to The Bookstore and to Steven Gates. Steven did truly care about Jasmine and I felt bad when his secrets were revealed as he was hoping to have them dealt with by then.

I was definitely not expecting what happened to Steven the way it happened. Definitely threw me for a loop and then to discover Nigel. I kind of liked the link between Nigel and Jasmine and how they were already linked in a certain way. I did feel super bad for Jasmine with what happened with all the stress she was going through.

I was honestly a little confused at the end and felt like the story was quite completed yet and I wish everything could have been summed up for me!

At first, I was very unsure about this book the start didn’t seem believable to me I was unsure if I would continue to read on. But I did get into it around chapter 2. I found the story a bit unbelievable in parts, that a young intelligent doctor would believe and do the things she did. As for the male characters of the book they were almost all bossy and dominating characters, that I really didn’t enjoy reading about. I must say I read the book and like parts of the story but it was not the best one I have read this month. At times the author loses me and the story just didn’t flow well for my reading pleasure. But this is only my opinion and you might totally enjoy every word.
Jasmine Lao is 30 years old and has moved from the Philippines some years ago to better her life and career. But life has been all work and no play and boring so she wishes for something to chance.

She very quickly gets involved with Steven Gates but meeting the Gates brothers will cause her more heartache than she was expecting.

Wow!! Jasmine was a med student that was just starting to finish her time before becoming a resident. She went to the bookstore as a mistake and fell in love with the atmosphere. She felt lighting bolts when a mystery man handed her a drink but she never found out about him. Then on her last days before her resident started she met Steven. There was a zap of a spark that was unexplainable and she went against doctors code to be with him. It was a very quick and spicy relationship with many lies or misunderstandings. Things get sour but better and the feelings these two have is hard to not notice. Yet, something happens and Jasmine is heartbroken and going into a dark place that she can survive on her own but the person that is there to help her isn't one she would want. Love this book but the end left me wanting more and I'm praying there's more coming because I can't handle how it ended. The love and the tears I had during this books were more than I've had in a long time. Tear jerker for sure, but those are the best books that leave you with a book hangover for sure. Grab it this one for sure.

This is the first book that I have read by this author at is was awesome. This story starts with Jasmine a soon to be doctor taking a wrong turn and ending up in an unique and sensual place called the Bookstore, there she finds someone and something that changes her sensuality. As the book progresses you run into Steven a man that makes her feels things that she has never felt before, but in the back of her mind the Bookstore sits and the mystery man she cannot forget. Steven has secrets that leads to Jasmine having to decide whether he will be her happiness or her downfall. Eventually Jasmine realizes that her relationship with Steven will lead her on a path of many surprises, many hurts, many joys, and possible love. This is a new author to me. It was a good love story with a well balance of happiness and sadness. Jasmine was drive in her career and crossed the path of twin brothers. When the group is three someone is going to come up losing out. The bothers are handsome and driven as well. Jasmine downfall was letting the man in her life make decisions for her. She was an independent woman, but when she got around these brothers she seemed to loose a part of herself. You will enjoy reading this book, happy reading

The Foreigner introduced me to the work of author A.C. Jade. This book was interesting but different. I felt different emotions when reading about Jasmine's quest to find love. The heartbreak that she endures throughout the book was gut wrenching. Her journey to find true love was so full of ups and downs and by the end of the book I was emotionally drained. The story's ending was a bit disappointing. I was left wanting more. The writing was good and the characters were well written. I would rate this book 4 stars.

Wow. Tons of different turns in this book. Our main character Jasmine gets all lost and stop for directions. She ends up at The Bookstore. Comes to find out it's a different kind of book store. At work she meets a very handsome guy and falls for him very fast. They get some awful news. They both try to work on there issues but tragedy strikes. But what. Someone he doesn't mention shows up to throw a curve ball into the mix. Great story. A little slow in parts but going cliff hanger. Can't wait to read the next boom in series.

AC Jade is a new author to me and I had no idea what to expect going into this story. I felt the feels with this story, which I loved. Jasmine goes through the ringer and then some and it can be pretty gut wrenching. The ups and downs, twists and turns really put you through the ringer, but that is what makes this story so good. The story flows and the characters are strong. I definitely recommend this read! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

This is definitely a different kind of story. It has good bones and some interesting characters. The plot was good too. Though I did find it wordy and certain chapters had a lot of information in them. Some of the times I questioned the believability of the story. I know it's fiction but sometimes too much is just that.

It took me a while to get into this book, it seemed like it was being written quickly. But then it all seemed perfect. Like as if the writer finally got to the story she wanted to tell. Once it got to that point I loved it and cant wait to read more. I definitely felt that nijel and Jasmine was made for each other.

The premise of the book was intriguing. I did not like the flow of the book in the start, arriving at a bookstore etc. Perseverance paid off in the end. I like the character of a young woman seeking more than mundane day to day life. Her loss, her growth, while not resolved felt real. Author is new to me. Recommended adult.

This book was different, but enjoyable. It is a fast paced read that does bring your emotions to the surface. I wasn't super fond of the transition from one main character to the next, but regardless it was a wonderful read!

There are so many ups and downs with Jasmine and she takes you along for the ride. I couldn't (and didn't) put it down.

This was a different type of book for me to read, but it was enjoyable. At first, I wasn't sure exactly why the Bookstore was mentioned and wasn't exactly sure what was going on, but as Jasmine's story unfolded, I got a better picture of her life. She was a strong character, trying to make a better life for herself in a new country, surrounded by love, loss & self discovery.

This was a very intriguing book, the story unfolds in a rather unusual manner and initially I wasn't sure whether I was going to enjoy it. Jasmine is a young lady from the Philippines now living in America and re-training to be a doctor. On her first day at her new job she gets lost and ends up at a place called The Bookstore, which isn't a bookstore at all, where she meets a masked stranger, a stranger who haunts her dreams. Despite visiting The Bookstore several times, Jasmine loses sight of this shadowy figure and decides to move on since wishing for him was not making it happen.

While this is going on in the background, she meets and falls for Stephen Gates, who just happens to live in the penthouse suite of her apartment block and unfortunately is suffering from a brain tumour. Although he loves her too and they begin a passionate affair, slowly everything unravels.

I struggled a bit with Jasmine's character she seemed quite independent and feisty, but was easily manipulated by Stephen and the rest of his family - of whom there are a LOT and who are extremely wealthy. Some of the brothers consider Jasmine a gold digger and make no bones about their opinion - their callous assumptions unfounded and downright hurtful, leaving Jasmine confused and uncertain. To add to the mix, it turns out Stephen has a twin, who Jasmine meets under tragic circumstances, little realising that they have already spoken, but when and how will shock her. No, I won't give the plot away - you have to read it.

The supporting cast were well written and some deserve their own stories - I'd be interested to see whether this happens. The story ends but doesn't conclude, I felt that there were a few threads still dangling, so I hope AC Jade ties them off in a future novel.

This is a story of love and loss and second chances, of the tenuous nature of life and how happiness so can so easily be snatched away. It encourages the reader to grab life with both hands and dance like nobody's watching!

Overall story was enjoyable, although I did find some of the language and phraseology a bit awkward. I discovered, however, that The Foreigner is the author's debut novel and that English is her second language, which clarified it to some extent and I am in awe of authors who take that leap of faith to write in a language other than their own.

I was gifted a copy of The Foreigner and this is my unbiased opinion.

So this was a new author and I didn't know what to expect. I must say it had makings of a good book. It had love, mystery and some sad times. I do love how the author brought the characters to life and obviously has done her homework on brain tumors. Jasmine is a character I liked. She's strong and determined. I mean she moved from the Philippines to Texas to fulfill her dream of being a Dr. It starts out by jasmine finding what she thought was a bookstore but turned out to be so much more. She meets a mystery man and has a connection. It was all for one night.. she soon meets Steven and has amazing relationship with him. He's bossy, demanding and very protective of Jasmine. It all looks good until it's not. This is when things gets weird or interesting, I'm not sure how to explain it. It was good book and I enjoyed reading it!
