본 연구에서는 Post-APEC 사업을 광의로 해석하여 사업의 성과를 계량화 하고 지속적으로 비교분석하여 향후 대형 국제행사의 유치와 개최전략을 수립하는데 적극 활용하는 방안을 모색하고, 또한 다양한 측면에서 Post-APEC사업을 보완 발전시켜 나감으로써 APEC 개최효과를 극대화함은 물론이고 장기적으로 지속되도록 하자는 데에 목적을 두고 있다. 따라서 각종 지역사업들의 지역경제 파급효과에 대한 객관 타당한 분석은 투입예산의 적정성, 사후평가, 관련 사업과의 연계를 통한 정책효율성 제고 및 적실성 있는 대안개발에도 중요한 의미가 있다. 본 연구에서는 지역경제 파급효과를 분석할 경우 기존 연구에서 지적된 문제점들을 개선할 수 있는 분석과정을 통해 APEC개최의 지역경제 파급효과를 보다 객관적으로 분석하고, 아울러 지역경제 효과극대화를 위한 포스트 APEC 발전방안을 제시하고자 한다.

It also seeks its objects of maximizing and, further, keeping up APEC impact on host-city by developing post-APEC projects in many sides. In analyzing the impact on regional economy, the research presents post-APEC development plans to maximize the regional economy Busan is now more than ready to host the APEC 2005 expecting opportunity to show the name of Busan to the worldin terms of rich culture, tourism and economics as well as diverse aspects of the city. During the APEC 2005 meetings and related events, Busan will receive very large flows of visitors, including APEC leaders and all other delegates, reaching 15,000 people. When the economic effect of the APEC 2005 is compared with that of other special grand events (e.g. the 14th Asian Games, 2002 FIFA World Cup), it exceeds the effect of those at the production multiplier effect, the value added multiplier effect and the employment effect. The purpose of this article is to investigate the Regional Linkage Effects of APEC 2005 in BUSAN using regional input-output model.
