About this ebook

Welcome to Whynot, North Carolina, population 3,872. It has one stoplight, one bar, and the one-and-only Trixie Mancinkus.

Eleven years ago, Trixie graduated Harvard Law, turned down a job offer from one of the most prestigious law firms in Boston, and headed home to Whynot to open her own firm. Not only did she leave behind the big city, but she also left her boyfriend of three years. And just so we’re clear… that would be me.

So what am I doing in Whynot at this very moment? It seems Trixie needs help with a legal case and for some insane reason, she called on me for assistance. I’ve been in town for five minutes, and I’m every bit as out of place as I feel. Trixie is all sweet, southern curves to my tailored suits and high-priced haircuts. It’s a culture clash of north versus south and about the only thing we have in common is our physical attraction to each other.

But I have a new motto since coming to Whynot: When life hands you lemons, all you need is a little sex and sweet tea to make things better.

What a sweet story about second chances from one of my favorite authors Sawyer Bennett. This is a lighter version than what you may normally be used to from Ms Bennett but I promise you her writing style still comes through every word. Trixie made choices 11 years ago; choices that still impact her to this day. Instead of taking a job at a high power law firm in Boston a job that her boyfriend Ryland was also offered she chose to leave the job and boyfriend behind and return home to Whynot North Caroline after law school. She knew that Boston was not the life she wanted and she thought she would be ok without Ryland and for 11 years she was. Now she needs Ryland's influence on a case so she calls him out of the blue for help. Never one to resist Trixie, Ry leaves Boston and comes down to Whynot to help his former girlfriend out. Once he gets there the sparks and feelings that they had all those years ago come flooding back and both Ry and Trixie finally understand that the choices they made has impacted them all these years and now they find out that they still want each other, but do those other issues still linger? To be honest I wasnt sure what I would find when I started reading Aint He Precious? I knew that it was going to be different than Ms Bennett's other books and it was and I loved it all the same. Told from 3 POV's Trixie, Ry and Trixie's grandfather Pap the story is fast paced and has so much heart. The realization Trixie and Ry have was told in a sweet and caring way that I couldnt help falling in love with them. If you are looking for lots of sexy time this is probably not the book for you and I am happy to say its really not needed for this story. There are some great secondary characters we meet in Trixie's family and it looks like the series will be based on them and I for one cant wait to find out more about Trixie twin sisters. All in all if you are looking for a sweet quick read then dont look any further, this one you will enjoy.

Cute love story of a Southern girl and a Yankee boy. You won't be able to put it away. Loved the characters, especially Pop. Well written, with good dose of humor. Makes you want to read the second book in the series.
