The Royal Oak Symphony Presents: Beethoven's Violin Concerto

The Royal Oak Symphony will perform the classic by Ludwig Van Beethoven on Friday, March 24.

From Royal Oak Orchestra: The Royal Oak Symphony presents the Violin Concerto by Ludwig van Beethoven on Friday, March 24, 2017; 8:00 pm, at Royal Oak Middle School (709 N. Washington Ave., Royal Oak). Other symphonic works on the program include “Spring Song” by Jean Sibelius and the “American Suite in A major” by Antonin Dvorak. The orchestra will be led by guest conductor Kevin Fitzgerald.Timothy B. Steeves is the soloist performing the Violin Concerto by Beethoven.

Mr. Steeves has performed throughout the United States as founding violinist of the Latitude 49 new music ensemble which is currently in residence at the University of Illinois, Chicago. He has performed with the Calgary Philharmonic, the Aspen, Banff, and Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestras, the New York String Orchestra, and has been co-concertmaster of the National Repertory Orchestra for two seasons.Timothy Steeves performs on an 1871 Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume violin, on loan by the Canada Council for the Arts Musical Instrument Bank.

He completed his Masters of Music in Violin Performance at the University and is pursing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Rice University in Texas, under the tutelage of Cho-Liang Lin.Tickets may be purchased on-line at www.RoyalOakOrchestera.org (credit card) or at the door (check or cash).
