Torn Hearts #2

Mended Hearts

Rate this book

My heart had just been splintered by the man I thought I was in love with. Betrayed by one, mislead by another. My twisted, triangle of a nightmare was over. It should be a walk in the park now…right? That’s what I thought when the clock struck twelve. I was in the arms of the man I knew I should be with, and I was ready for a new year, a new me, and a new love. But this wasn’t the fairy tale I thought it was going to be. I’d stepped into a completely new field, and it wasn’t full of daisies. It was a field of landmines, secrets, lies, and more heartbreak. Is any of this worth saving?

I love her. That’s never going to stop, and I don’t want it to. I’ll make her see…

Elizabeth had a love triangle to envy. But all good things come to an end... unfortunately. Elizabeth knows who she loves, but betrayal has her changing her mind, and eventually her heart.
What started off as an assignment for 'Simon' turned into something much more. Only secrets can destroy even the strongest of feelings, especially when the secrets are wrapped in more secrets. Rebuilding trust takes more than an apology, and Nick is willing to do whatever it takes.
Spencer is finally with the woman he loves, but the joy is short lived. Too many secrets, too much danger, he pushes Elizabeth away "to protect her" from what he thinks would turn her away from - or get her killed.

Mended Hearts is the sequel to Torn Hearts. The story pretty much takes off from the beginning and doesn't slow for awhile. While the average girl getting the rich bachelor seems to be a common theme lately (I mean, who hasn't had that fantasy??), there are definitely some parts that mimic another well-known book. It's even touched upon in a conversation. However, don't let that take away from the rest of the book. The twists were very interesting and enjoyable.

Received an ARC for an honest review from The Book Enthusiast

WOW!! This book has so much more drama!! I floved it.

Beth made her decision and went with Spencer! Some might think that was a very bad mistake. She doesn't see it that way. Again with Spencer she had the butterflies, the chills. With Simon who we found out at the end of Torn that wasn't his real name! She felt safe with him, but there wasn't really any chemistry.

As Spencer's past becomes his present, he leaves Beth in a very bad place! Mentally and physically. There is someone out to get Spencer and they don't know why. As the digging into his past continues, somethings come into light. Well for Spencer it does. This is why he leaves Beth!

The guessing of who is trying to ruin Spencer and why nags at you throughout the whole book. Right until the end. The one person who'd you think wouldn't want anything to do with Spencer helps Beth out. Why? Because he finally see's the she truly loves Spencer and not him. His heroics though makes you cry so get your tissues ready!

The ending though that is yeah!!! Love to see what Teddy and Charles were really like though!

Reviewed on behalf of 2 girls who love books blog

I could not wait to get into this book and carry on reading Beth’s story! I needed to know more about Spencer and Simon! I initially thought the story was going to be over quite quick but do not be fooled there are some great twists and turns that come along! This book does need to be read after book 1 in the series for it to make sense.

We come into this story with Beth having found out Simon’s secret and her love triangle finally being over – or is it? Poor Beth her life is never simple! It’s clear that Spence is hiding something but I just couldn’t decide what that was. I liked that they story about him wasn’t predicatble1
I thought I had made my mind up about the characters Spencer and Simon at the end of the first book but still throughout this one my mind kept changing and I just couldn’t decide who my favourite was! Spencer definitely had the edge coming in to the second book to be honest!

I loved that Beth’s character never changed! She was still her stubborn and feisty self! I loved the relationship that she had with her brothers! I’m not sure I can decide which brother I liked the most! They really did look out for her! The only thing that was lacking for me slightly in this story was the relationship between Beth and Gia, they fell out a lot and it was a shame because they were such great friends in the first story! I did like Gia though and I’m sure there’s a story for her out there, especially with her indecision over whether she wanted to be with Chuck or Teddy.

Mended Hearts is a fantastic follow up book to Torn Hearts and I’m still in awe that this author is relatively new. The stories are deep, well written and kept my attention the whole way through! I am definitely going to be eagerly awaiting the next book in this series, which I believe will be Teddy’s story! I have definitely found a new author to stalk!!

Well the name of the second book in this series doesn't really fit until the end lol. No spoilers here though! It's an extreme rollercoaster when insane heights that are never ending. Elizabeth has it rough in this one. I mean I don't know how she doesn't just crawl up on the couch and not just give up. I would! Men eh not good for anything ha! It's a really great series to get lost in. I know Simon/Nick was the good guy! I rooted for him since the beginning!

Mended Hearts was a great 5 star read.
I was so excited to finally get this second book in the Torn Hearts series.

Elizabeth is still struggling with what has happened with Simon and Spencer. She has chosen to be with Spencer but Simon is determined to get Elizabeth back. Simon works hard to find anything he can on Spencer.

There is also someone else out to get Spencer. This is a mystery throughout the book and it causes some issues between Spencer and Elizabeth. This is where I needed some tissue, my heart went out to Elizabeth. Will Elizabeth and Spencer be able to make things work? Or will Simon succeed in getting her back?

There is so much more to this great read. Beth was still a very strong character and I loved how she stood up to Spencer and Simon. Her brothers are also very protective and I loved seeing them again in this book. I’m still waiting patiently to see if Gia and the brothers will get their own book. I would love to see where things could go for them. M.E. Gordon does a great job of pulling you right into the story and you won’t want to stop until you’re done reading. This is one of my top reads for 2017. 1-click and get started on this series today.

I was send an ARC for an honest review.
I loved this story from the moment I open it a follow on to Torn Hearts.
There were some lovely highs and sad lows
It concluded the story with finding out who Elizabeth finally ended up with but she wasn't without some disappointments.
A fantastic love story
