Swiss Ambassador: We hope Azerbaijani President will participate in Davos Forum

Baku. 12 January. REPORT.AZ/ There are more than 20 Swiss companies in Azerbaijan and they are actively working.

Report informs, Ambassador of Switzerland to Azerbaijan, Philipp Stalder said at a press conference.

“Last year we have marked 25^th anniversary of diplomatic relations. They are at a high level. We have developed close relations also within the framework of international financial institutions”, ambassador said. The embassy is working to further expand cooperation between Azerbaijan and Switzerland", he added.

Stalder noted that the trade turnover between the countries is about $ 200 million. According to diplomat, this indicator decreased relatively in 2017, but he expressed hope for his further growth.

Swiss Ambassador expressed his hope for the participation of the Azerbaijani President at the annual World Economic Forum in Davos, which will be held on January 23-26, 2018. Also in past years, the heads of state met in Davos, and I think that they will meet there again”, diplomat said.

The ambassador said that visits of a number of Swiss officials to Azerbaijan are planned this summer.
