Seymour's Watson named 5-2A MVP
Seymour senior David Watson was named the 5-2A Division I Most Valuable Player after leading the Panthers to their second district title in three seasons.
Watson totaled 1,272 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns in his final season and also was a standout defensive back.
Teammate Collin Gann was the 5-2A Defensive MVP, while sophomore defensive back Nick Slaggle was the defensive newcomer. Seymour senior Preston Guerra was 5-2A's Lineman of the Year.
Windthorst senior tailback Koy Pennartz earned 5-2A Offensive MVP honors, while Alvord freshman Corbyn Cornell was the offensive newcomer.
The district finished with a 1-4 record in the postseason with the Trojans' win over Bells being the victory.
