One of my favorite things about Erin Nicholas’ Opposites Attract series, is that the heroines are straight up geeks. And I mean that in the best way possible. It’s a fun and refreshing spin on romance.

Maya and Alex meet when Alex comes to one of Maya’s classes. Maya is a martial artist instructor for kids. She makes her classes fun by incorporating super heroes. After Maya got hurt with her last job in law enforcement, she thought this would deb a good way to stay in shape and still help.

Dr. Alex Nolan needs all the help he can get when it comes to super heroes. You see, his 10 year old daughter who he just recently found out about is obsessed with them. Maya is just the woman he needs. She can teach him all about the super heroes that impress his daughter so much.

“The best superheroes are flawed in some way. Typically something has happened to them—either a trauma or a freak accident or just good old destiny—and they either choose to rise above or they let it bring them down. We love them because they made the choice to rise above.”

Alex and Maya’s friendship is there, but the attraction between them burns the pages from the very beginning. Alex may not know if he’s ready for a relationship, but it’s apparent that these two are hot for each other from the start. I loved watching their back and forth and seeing their chemistry flourish. There were many sweet moments, fun times, and all around geeky goodness in this book.

I loved the dynamic of Maya and her friends. I even liked the Alex/Charlie/Rachel dynamic. Alex irked me a few times, but I got where he was coming with when it came to his daughter. I spent my time reading this with a big smile on my face, rooting for these two characters to be together.

If you’re looking for a fast, fun, and sweet read, this is one I would recommend!

Forever Mine is the second book in Erin Nicholas' Opposite Attract series and follows retired cop Maya and single dad Alex. Alex needs Maya's help with his daughter, who he only recently found out about. He knows nothing about kids or superheroes, while that seems to be Maya's specialty. So he enlists her help to save the world of a ten year old.

These characters were a great addition to this series, and I really liked getting to know them. From the beginning you could tell that Alex and Maya had a great chemistry, even if they didn't want to admit it. Seeing that attraction was intriguing and it's what had me flipping these pages like a mad woman. I just had to get to that moment where they admitted they were into one another and got their HEA.

The overall story was light and sweet, and kept a smile on my face the entire time I was reading. I liked that the author incorporated some real like issues in the story, but didn't overwhelm us with them to where it took away to sweet feeling the rest of the story had. I'm so happy I found this author and this series, so I can't wait to get more from it.

I had really enjoyed the previous book of the series, so I was pretty excited to read this one.

I loved love loved Maya and Alex. She's sassy and pushy and seriously kick ass. He's smart and maybe a little cocky and together they're absolutely adorable. Oh, and the chemistry is off the charts.

There are loads of cute, geeky scenes and talks about superheroes and cosplay. It was sweet to see Alex bend over backwards to learn things for Charli. I think the best part was backstory It wasn't something I've read before and it was fairly refreshing.

Overall, a fun and quick read that was mostly all fluff. I can't wait to see who gets the next story.

Maya Goodwin has always lived her life on the edge and without fear for the consequences. When an injury to her arm forced her to give up her job as a police officer Maya took a job teaching martial arts to children. It's at her job that Maya first meets Alex Nolan when he shows up looking to learn more about the arts.

Not too long ago Alex got the surprise of his life, he is the father to an eight year old girl and now he is making it his mission to make up for the lost time in her life. Alex however shares one unfortunate trait with his young daughter, they are both hemophiliacs which puts them both at risk with any injury. Meeting the daring Maya makes Alex question whether this adventurous woman would fit into his and his daughter's lives.

Forever Mine is the second book in the Opposites Attract series by Erin Nicholas. One thing I will say about this series is the author does a wonderful job with her characters and giving them personalities that while opposite of each other I just can't help but like both of them and root for them to get their happily ever afters with each other.

As with the first book in the series Maya is a bit of a geek with all of her knowledge of the super heroes that Alex's daughter is obsessed with. This knowledge is what brings the couple together but as serious as Alex is and as adventurous as Maya is the pair just seemed to grow together quite nicely and overcame the obstacles involved in a realistic manor.

Overall, definitely a romance series that has this reader hooked with great characters and situations. Looking forward to more to come in the Opposites Attract series.

Sweet, charming, and heartwarming!!! Erin Nicholas once again has caught my attention with her newest release, Forever Mine which happens to be a beautiful feel good love story between a single dad and his daughter’s martial arts teacher.

#ForeverMine

With palpable chemistry and charming characters, Nicholas allowed her readers to feel the love and connection that was brewing between Alex and Maya. When Alex needed all the help he can get with his daughter’s fascination with superheroes, Maya came to the rescue. What started off as friendship soon led to a budding attraction between the two. And in such, Nicholas created a story that was sweet, innocent, and fresh.

I absolutely adore this smart geeky romance because there was just something so refreshing about it. There was no major angst or drama but instead a story about two real strangers developing a friendship that turned into romance. So if you are looking for a romance that was light and beautifully well written then I highly suggest you read this book. Erin Nicholas comes to the rescue as she delivers a charming story that will fill your heart with lots of love and superheroes.

Forever Mine was so freaking cute! I constantly had a smile on my face while reading this book. This book put me in such a great mood! Forever Mine was fluffy, romantic, and a lot of fun.

The couple in this book was fantastic. I ship Maya and Alex SO HARD. Even though they seemed like they might be opposites, they worked so well together! Maya was super sassy, which lead to some hilarious banter between her and Alex. Their chemistry was palpable, and I ate it up. The author did a great job at building their romance and making it seem believable.

There were plenty of geeky and adorable moments that made me laugh out loud. I loved all of the fun geeky stuff the author included in this book! That is one of the reasons I love this series so much and why I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book!

This book had some heavier subjects, and I think the author handled them very well. They added some deep and meaningful moments to this light and fluffy book. Those moments made me very emotional, and I really liked that!

Overall, this was a quick, fun, and adorable read. I would recommend this to anyone look for a sweet new romance book!

Seriously people, if you haven’t started Erin Nicholas’ Opposites Attract series, you are missing out on some fantastic storytelling. I loved the first book in this series, Completely Yours, but I loved Forever Mine even more. Leave it to this author to take a serious genetic disorder and turn it into a romance plot line that not only works, but gives this book a realistic feel and educates at the same time. In classic Nicholas style; this book is fun, sexy and features an ensemble cast that rivals those of well loved television shows like Friends and Big Bang Theory. I loved every minute of this book!

All his life Alex Nolan has lived his life with limitations, but when he spots the kick-ass woman in purple leather giving a martial arts demonstration at the mall he is intrigued and when she goes out of her way to help a teenage girl in need, he realizes this woman is special and even when he is trying to devote all his spare time to his 9 year old daughter he just found out about, he knows that staying away from Maya Goodwin is going to be a challenge of epic proportions.

While Alex and Maya seem worlds apart in the way they live their lives, they have some fundamental similarities that draw them together. Both are prone to help others over themselves, both believe in pushing themselves to be the best, and the love with their whole hearts. When Alex asks Maya to help him learn how to use martial arts weapons and tutor him on everything about super heroes and things the appeal to his 9 year old daughter who deems herself a “geek.” The chemistry between them is electric and while Maya would love nothing more to act on it Alex feels that the time isn’t right since he is determined to make up for lost time with his daughter and do right by her. While Maya is pretty much an open book with Alex, he holds back including on something but Maya being the strong, determined, and take charge woman that she is figures out his secret and forces him to open up. I love that she pushed him, but even more I love that even when she was determined to change for him he refused to let her because her strength, determination and drive is what he found just as sexy as her outside package. The fact that Alex was determined to be the best father he possibly could to his daughter only made Maya more attracted to him even when he was pushing her away.

This book is about a relationship between a man and a woman, but more than that is celebrates all the special relationships in life; those between a parent and child, friends who are more like family, and even ex-lovers who become the best of friends; that is what sets this book apart and just one of the reasons I have always loved this author’s work.

Warm and wonderful, sassy and sexy, magnificent and masterful, Forever Mine is author Erin Nicholas at her very best!

Forever Mine is a contemporary romance that made me squee and made me sigh. It’s a celebration of geek culture, of women who love comics, and of cosplay. Sometimes I read a book and I love it so much that I basically can’t even describe how much I love it – I just shove it into people’s hands and shout “OMG READ IT RIGHT NOW!”

It’s a wonderful escape, like a vacation for your brain. I say that in a totally non-patronizing way too. I’m not doing the whole “denigrate romance as escapist fluff” thing. Escapism and brain rest are super important, you guys. And while Forever Mine is light-hearted and stress-free, it also has depth. And feels. There are feels.

The best part of Forever Mine was that there’s no real angst. Maya and Alex have to work some stuff out, but the obstacles that keep them apart aren’t dire. And I loved how Maya helped him learn about the characters and worlds his daughter was passionate about in a genuine and enthusiastic way. Add some really hot sex scenes to the mix, and basically I was in heaven.

If you need to just feel really good for awhile, or you really love cosplay or comics or guys who specialize in blood disorders, this book is absolutely your catnip. It’s “read in one sitting good.”

FOREVER MINE, the second book in Erin Nicholas's latest series is every bit as wonderful as the first book, Completely Yours. This new series, Opposites Attract, has definitely become my favorite which is saying a lot because I'm a huge fan of the world and characters she's created in her Sapphire Falls series. But the Opposites Attract series goes to just a bit deeper level both in story line and character portrayal. There's still the same humor and witty dialogue, the same steam, and ALWAYS a great love story, but there's also a growth aspect to both characters as they blend their lives and become even better versions of their selves. I really love that aspect of these new books.

Forever Mine, the story of Doctor Alex Nolan and Maya Goodwin is one of love at first sight. From the moment they lock eyes for the first time each of their worlds are tipped a little off their axis. Of course, it takes a little bit longer for them to realize they are perfect for each other for as the series name suggests, they couldn't be more opposite. Maya is an all-out, go for it, no holds barred, and basically fearless woman. She's an ex-cop who teaches martial arts and hand-to-hand combat skills in the studio she owns and runs with the help of her good friends. She is a weapon's expert, a sci-fi and comic book geek, and a gamer who loves to dress up in costumes. Alex is a doctor who due to his hemophilia has had to be careful all of his life. He swam competitively at the National level, but has never participated in contact sports. His work at the Children's Center, the research he does, and his speaking engagements have been his life. But Alex has recently discovered he has a nine year old daughter, Charli, who he has nothing in common with. Charli loves all things Galactic Renegades and Superheroes. He notices Maya at a demonstration she and her friends are giving at the mall and well, he can't take his eyes off of her. He also realizes she is just the woman with the information he needs to reach out and bond with his daughter. The sexy doctor catches Maya's eye too and she's not a bit shy about letting him know she's interested in getting to know him better. Much better. The chemistry between them is sizzling and it doesn't take long for Alex to admit he wants Maya for more than her knowledge of comic books and Galactic Renegades.

Kiera and Zach, from Completely Yours are back. As are Sophie, Rob and Ben which adds a continuity and familiarity to the story. I recommend you read the first book, but these are stand-alone's and can be read independently too. 4.5 stars

There are books that just get it right. And, this one is one of them. They tell a romance that you slide into, that feels good as you are reading it, that makes you want to turn the next page, to keep the Kindle open, to not go to sleep just yet. I think anyone who reads a lot knows this feeling, that enjoyment of just escaping into a book, to read something that you don't want to put down.

From the beginning, Maya and Alex have chemistry. And, the build up of this chemistry is done to perfection. It's both a slow burn and a denial of the attraction that they each feel.

I loved that you know there is a secret, and you know what it is right away. Although, Alex isn't telling others, the reader knows. And, it is interesting. I think this is the first book I have read that deals with this particular thing. I am not going to spoil it, although the author places the info in the acknowledgements at the beginning of the book, so I think it is a secret you are supposed to know.

Alex has a secret, he has limitations that he doesn't want to admit to himself. Some of those are the expectations of others. Erin Nicholas balances this so well, the man who actually can manage sex against a wall with the man who maybe needs to play pool and poker instead of a full contact, rough sport. Alex also seems to think that he can manage to have all of the people he loves and cares for lving around him without interacting and impacting one another, and the way this is handled is both emotional and it feels real.

Maya has a mission to get back something she had which she has lost. She has a focus toward it that doesn't change, it doesn't stop. It moves her forward in ways that may not be the healthiest, and it stops her a lot of the time from seeing what is right in front of her.

And, because romance needs a connection between 2 people to really work, Maya and Alex understand one another. They know what it is like to be held back by something, to feel that they are not able to move forward because of something totally out of their control...and to hide behind it to the detriment of the things they are hiding from.

Oddly enough, the first one in this series really didn't work for me and I actually hesitated when I received the invitation to read this one...I am so very glad I accepted the invite and gave this series another chance. Usually, I wouldn't put this into a review, that I wasn't that big of a fan of another book...but in this case, I am mentioning it just in case there is someone else who maybe didn't connect with the first, as it would be a shame to miss this one.

I, obviously, recommend this book.

I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH! Maya goes all in all the time in everything she does and really doesn't know any other way to live so when she meets Alex Nolan and he needs her help to learn about martial arts and comic books and other assorted things she goes all in. Maya was injured as a police officer and her injury was severe enough to keep her from being in the field. Alex has a bleeding disorder and, surprise!, he has a daughter, Charli, he didn't know about and she has the same disorder and this impacts what she can do but Charli is a typical, active nine year old. Alex tries to keep everything compartmentalized but Maya is pusher and trying to keep everything separated is challenging. I loved everything about this story. Alex is a wonderful father who is learning to adapt to having a daughter and how to be a dad. Maya is Supergirl through and through and leads with her heart.

I highly recommend this one. It could be read as a standalone.

4.5 stars -- I received a free copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest and unbiased review/opinion.

OK, this was a fantastic addition to this series!! And no, you most definitely do NOT have to read the first book to enjoy this one, but it's super adorable as well, so I definitely recommend it.

I can honestly say that I loved both characters, and thought they both had some really unique aspects to their personalities, and were really well developed. Both Maya and Alex were extremely likable, but not without flaws. And because of those two aspects, it was so satisfying to see their growth over the course of the story, even if there were the occasional bits I wish we'd seen more of.

Maya was seriously badass, but also so satisfyingly nerdy. She was just ridiculously one of a kind...I can't even figure out how to describe her. She's completely unlike me, but I could really see liking her. And admiring her. I kind of wish we'd seen a bit more of her development wrt her future goals...because they kind of changed over the story, but we didn't see her working that out, it just kind of happened along the way...one of those things that disappointed me.

And Alex was so cautious and meticulous, and eager! He just kept surprising me along the way. I loved seeing the little steps he was making forward, even if he was moving a little slower than I'd like, and even if occasionally I wanted to smack him. But I kind of liked that he was not quite alpha, but not quite beta. He had his strengths and weaknesses, and he admired the crap out of Maya's strengths.

And the chemistry between Maya and Alex was smoking and very enjoyable. But I could also see the relationship that developed between them that was more than just chemistry and lust.
I loved the nerd aspect, and loved some of the introspective commentaries made about the nerd community and why we love superheroes and all that stuff. It just really felt...I don't know, intelligent? Is that insulting to other books? Or maybe it's insightful. Like not just the nerd aspect, but the story as a whole -- looking at why people help others, what that says about them, overcoming perceived weaknesses, all that good stuff.

I also really loved the secondary characters in this one. I loved Maya's group of friends, and that they are important to her and an integral part of her life. I enjoyed Rachel, and was surprised that I did. She was a bit too good to be true at times, but I actually enjoyed that it wasn't a big dramafest and she really added to Alex's life. And Charli was pretty cool. I loved how important she was to Alex, and how he was just so enthralled with her, but he eventually learned the importance of the dad role.

I did notice that occasionally things would happen that didn't make sense in the timeline that was in my head, but perhaps that will change in the final copy. It's just that sometimes some events would be only days apart when I'd been given the impression it was more like a few weeks.

On a weird side note, I was surprised that none of the girls knew what hemophilia was, since I did...but I did an internet poll, and while the majority of my friends did know, there were a few that didn't so I can accept it.

All in all I'm really loving this series. I sincerely can't wait for Sophie's story if it's anything like the first two.

This was an amazing book! I spent entire time sighing, awww-ing, and laughing. There might have been a discreet tear dropping down my face at the end too. Alex and Maya were so wonderful together and separately, I wish they were my real friends so I could have seen them fall in love in real life. Rachel was great, Charli was a sweetie, and Maya's friends? I need their stories NOW. They better have stories, Ms. Nicholas. Your dedicated fans (like me) will demand them.

LOVED this story!! Alex is deliciously yummy, I think we all need one like him. Good father, doctor, sexy, protective. Yep, delicious. Finding out he's a father to a nine year old daughter could have thrown him over the edge but he took it in stride, embraced it, and now he'll do whatever he can to give her a good life. It troubles him that she's afflicted with the same bleeding disorder that he has had to deal with his whole life and he wants to be sure she gets the chance to experience life more than he did.

Maya is daring and not afraid of anything. She lives life full out and makes no apologies. When Alex shows up at her martial arts studio looking to learn a little about the things his daughter enjoys she is immediately attracted to him. She doesn't let the fact that he has baggage deter her. But can the daring ex-cop and the play it safe doc really have it all??

This book is wonderfully written and I just adored the characters. I learned quite a bit reading this one as well. Definitely a book I recommend to everyone.

Forever Mine is one of Erin Nicholas' best work and I've loved everything I've read of hers. This was a truly emotional, heartwarming story that touched my heart deeply and it was more than a love story between Alex and Maya, it was also a powerful story about a father trying to make a connection with his daughter. I totally loved Alex and Maya together and I adored the fact that Alex wanted to put Charli's needs first at all cost no matter how misguided that was. I loved that Maya did everything she could to help Alex bond with Charli and she showed that she was the perfect woman for him. This was truly an amazing book and a must read for all romance readers.

Favorite Quotes:

She had never been this wrapped up in how a guy looked. It was as if she couldn’t stop looking at him. And thinking dirty thoughts. Was this what it was like to be shallow? She didn’t mind it as much as she would have thought.

I’m kind of hating that we’re on the phone right now… That’s a throw-you-over-my-shoulder thing to say, Maya.

You’re the epitome of girl power…

… he would never deserve her. But he was going to spend his life trying to.

My Review:

Alex was a man of science, as a medical researcher and doctor. He also had a significant medical condition. He has lived his life carefully and in a purposefully segmented manner. But that doesn’t always work with other people, especially confident, pushy, in-your-face/grab-life-by-the-horns type people, which was how Maya lived. I adored Maya. I love a feisty kick-ass chick, and she was certainly that and a whole lot more. I wasn’t the only one who adored Maya, Alex did too, although he was conflicted about his overwhelming attraction to Maya as he was already struggling with his new role of father to a nine-year-old daughter, and he seemed to think he could only focus on one thing at a time. Silly man!

Erin Nicholas is a recent discovery for me and I adore her sweet and sexy style of storytelling. Her books are a tasty treat worthy of breaking any diet. All of her works that I have read have been thankfully low on melodrama and conflict while featuring sweet and engaging tales with realistic and endearingly flawed characters that cherish and support each other, what a novel concept for a romance! I have enjoyed her easy to follow and amusing stories, as well as her enticing characters, and plan to follow her like a treasure hunter.

I'm having a hard time finding the right words I want to write this. If you know me at all, you know I love Erin Nicholas' writing. Yes, I have a favorite here or there, usually as soon as I finish reading the last word of whatever book I've just finished.
Forever Mine however touched me deeply in a different way that seems to need more than "I loved it!"
Alex is such a highly educated Doctor, Maya is an ex-cop, geek weapon maker and seems to be what Alex wants to learn about for the daughter he recently learned he had. I guess the fact that the characters suffer some health issues may make it more dear to me, but I honestly think it is probably Ms. Nicholas' best book to date, and that's not an easy remark to make! This is definitely a five star read you won't want to miss!

I enjoyed the previous book in this series and how the author made geeky look so sexy and enticing but I think she has outdone herself with this one. FOREVER MINE is a celebration of relationships - between a man and a woman, between a parent and a child, between friends, between co-parents - and was so heartwarming and uplifting.

Nothing could be cuter than a father trying to connect with his daughter by learning the things that she loves and that's what makes Alex Nolan such a sweet father. Alex was not aware that he had a daughter until she was nine, but he is determined to make up for lost time and if learning martial arts and geeky stuff is the way to get to know her, then he's game. But being attracted to the teacher was not a part of the plan because he can't afford the distraction she is and her zest for life would completely suck him in against his better instincts.

Maya Goodwin gives her all every time and even though it cost her her job as a cop, she has channeled that energy into her martial arts studio for kids. Helping Alex learn stuff that would appeal to his daughter is also for her because she enjoys being with him and wants to explore the chemistry between them.

On the surface Alex and Maya seem to be very different, but they are really not. They both are selfless givers, willing to go the extra mile for others. They're both also overly hard on themselves and unwilling to accept any limitations. The only difference between them is that Maya is an open book and holds nothing back while Alex is shut down like a bank vault, with reason I might add.

Did this story move at the pace I wanted it to? No, but Alex impressed me by taking his time to think things through and make the choices that would benefit his daughter. Another thing I enjoyed was that he and his ex had a solid relationship where they could co-parent successfully without drama and recriminations.

This was a very enjoyable read, with entertaining moments and little drama that left me with a huge smile on my face. This is only my second book from Ms. Nicholas, but she has become an auto-read for me now.

this was a feel good story. The two main characters are both on journeys. One to accept that there are limitations when injured and that love forgives and pushes to the limits. The other to open to others and rediscover passion, love and themselves. To also connect with his daughter.
Maya and Alex are great. Maya is bubbly and infectious. her love of comics and the superhero concept is great and so is her attitude on life. I love how she doesn’t let things stop her but with Alex she learns to push and also ground herself. She learns love, forgiveness and that limitations are there for a reason and if you push beyond it could cause some serious harm. Seeing Maya and how kind and generous is was wonderful. And towards Alex’s daughter it was super sweet. She is a police officer who is off the job and doing something to help kids feel better and build confidence in themselves.
Alex is a doctor that works in genetics diseases in particular one that he has. He doesn’t open up to his patients about his illness to show he understands their perspective nor does he open up to his daughter until Maya helps him learn to accept and see that it can help. I love seeing him try so hard to be there for his daughter and how he always tries to do the right thing even when he completely flubs it and messes up big time. Him and Maya are awesome together. Watching him have Maya teach him his daughters interest was swoony. And him and Maya together sexy.
The attraction was palpable, story sweet and about love family and acceptance. Wonderfully written and a delight from start to finish.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the second book in the series - and a real treat. We get to see friends made in the first story, and it is Maya, the feisty ex-cop's turn to experience love and romance.

There is a lot to commend this book - it deals with a number of difficult issues, but also a couple of very simple ones. Alex has been compartmentalising his life and keeping safe, until he sees Maya and immediately recognises the attraction and the danger. He seemingly cannot forget her, nor release himself from the boundaries he has set. Maya refuses to be limited by her injury, and pushes herself to pain to feel alive. Somehow the chemistry between them demands that they take into account the views of the other ... and it is fascinating watching on. Add in the superhero obsessed daughter, Charli and a very enjoyable read is created.

A most entertaining and absorbing read, thank you Ms Nicholas.

I'm amazed by how good this book was and I'm so excited about this new series ! Definitively my favorite of 2017 ! There's so much passion (and not just the romantic kind) and humanity in this book.

Dr. Alex Nolan learned two months ago he have a 9 years old daughter. Alex never thought he would have children. Not because he doesn't like them, or he surely wouldn't be a pediatrician, but because he have hemophilia. He knows how constraining this disease is and didn't want to transmit it to someone. Alex's girl is a fan of a superheros franchise and he's searching for a way to bound with her. When the new dad assist to a demonstration for a atypical class in a martial arts and fitness studio, he's immediately intrigued and mesmerized by the woman who teach it. She seems so cool, so self-assured, so full of energy that he can't take his eyes off her.

As a reader, Maya Goodwin was fascinating to me too. She's a badass, not the in-your-face kind, but the awesome and confident kind who live big and make the world a better place. I think I have a girl crush :p

The hero is kind, charming, caring but what made him sexier is certainly the attention he give his daughter, how he take note of all her likes and dislikes and the fact he's trying hard to be a good father. But I was frustrated by his lack of honesty.

Maya noticed Alex too, and even if their relationship begin because she help him learn about the superheros world so he can talk about it with his girl, they didn't try to hide the attraction and they acknowledged it from the start. There's no confusion on Maya's part about her feelings and what she wants and she didn't hesitate to say it and grab for it. Okay, I'm gonna say it; I think she might be one of my favorite heroine of all time.

I haven't read the first book in the series, but it can read as a standalone no problem.

I'm really impressed with the author attention to details. Maya is a fan and expert of the comics world and the invented superheros franchise (at least I think Galactic Renegates is not a real thing) was so well detailed. I'm not a geek nor a fan of superheros, but I always thought there's something so engaging about seeing someone being so passionate about something. The informations the author gave us about hemophilia were a great addition too.

The flirting, the clever lines, the writing style were sublime. The story grabbed my attention right from the start and never stopped.

Now about the not so perfect thing... It was a bit disconcerting that Alex's relationship with his daughter's mother was not clearer. I mean, it was one of the thing that made this book incomparable, and I understand he wanted to see if there was something possible between him and Rachel before he met Maya, but I wish he talked to her when things became more serious with Maya and it made me sad for Rachel. It didn't brought drama and she took it well. She was so great that I hope the author will write her HEA. I also think that he should have been honest with Maya about Rachel.

I just want to add I like it best when the models on the cover fit the characters description and that's the case with Forever Mine so yeah :)

I already ordered book one and can't wait to read it !

LOVED Maya & Alex in this story, Forever Mine, book 2 in Erin Nicholas' Opposites Attract series....
Adding to the dynamic was Alex's daughter, Charli. This story dealt with some real life tough situations (characters living with hemophilia), and Erin does very well with these sometimes heavy subjects. Maya was dear to me, as she is an ex cop, hurt in the line of duty, but that doesn't let her disabilities keep her down, and she continues to help and serve others. Alex is lovable guy, who is a Dr. in the genetics field. I loved how from the beginning Maya got so easily distracted by Alex, and vice versa , and the chemistry kept building. I'm very much looking forward to the next book in the series...

I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars, I loved it that much. Alex is my new book boyfriend...and I don't take that lightly! He was amazing. And I want Maya to be my new best friend. And Charli to be friends with my kids and Rachel was the perfect mom. I cried the last 6% of this book...happy tears! This book is one of my favorites by far!

Maya Goodwin is a risk taker. She’s working through a severe injury that forced her to retire from the police department—Maya’s no desk jockey! As a martial arts teacher, Maya discovers she really enjoys this new facet of her life. She’s able to still get into some crazy antics with demonstrations and sparring with her friend and instructors and she’s looking toward the future, as long as she can stop staring at one devilishly handsome Alex Nolan.

Alex is just trying to catch up with the whirlwind that is now his life. The recent discovery that he has a nine year old daughter has Alex trying to learn all the “things”—including things like super heroes, comic book characters and all the other likes that his daughter loves. Alex finds that he just can’t stay away from Maya and her crazy spontaneous ways. He’s finding that the more time he spends with her, he wants more. Alex is trying to make up for lost time in his daughter’s life but also make himself happy too. Will Mr. Play It Safe realize love is worth the risk?

Superhero martial arts? Where in the hell can I sign up? God, I would have loved to have had something like this class for my daughter when she was younger. I loved Maya. Loved her. She is the epitome of strong, smart and sexy. She’s a woman all little girls and boys can emulate—hell, some adults should take notes on how she deals with people. I loved her interactions with all the kids. So damn cute. And don’t get me started on how awesome her group of friends is! I fell in love with them in Completely Yours and was thrilled to catch up with the group in Forever Mine!

I also adored Alex. God, the man just found out that he’s a dad to a nine year old girl and he’s doing everything and anything he can to prove that he loves her and is a good, no make that great dad. He’s doing an amazing job getting to know his daughter and be involved in her life—almost to the detriment of his own happiness. I found myself wanting to hug him and hit him at times, but I just loved him even more. Sigh. When’s the next book in the Opposites Attract series releasing, I want to be first in line to read it! ~ Missy, 5 stars

BLURB
Maya Goodwin doesn't believe in holding back. Ever. As a cop, she never hesitated to throw herself into harm's way to save someone. Even after an injury on the job forces her to retire, she's not afraid to keep risking it all to get the life she wants. With a new career teaching martial arts to kids already underway, she's looking forward to the future - and taking a chance on the unbelievably hot Dr. Alex Nolan.

Maya - daring and spontaneous - is the exact opposite of what Alex always thought he wanted. But when a nine-year-old daughter he never knew existed shows up on his doorstep, Maya is the one who helps them hold it together. With love on the line, will the guy who's always played it safe be willing to take the biggest risk of all?

REVIEW

Geeky, romantic goodness!

Both of the main characters, Maya and Alex are heroes in their own right. Maya an ex-cop who was hurt on the job and Alex is a doctor treating hemophiliac patients. I have to say Alex made my ovaries sigh. He was just all around awesome, getting to know and learn to relate to his newly discovered daughter, a doctor, and just a stand-up guy. I did want to smack him around a couple of times when he was he was being stupid and keeping the wall up between him and Maya. They are super sexy, sweet and fun as a couple and very entertaining to read.

This is the second book in the series and though you do not need to read them in order you should because they are great books. The book is fun, sweet and sexy and excellently written.

5Stars

Forever Mine – Book 2 of the Opposite Attract Series by Erin Nicholas is a very well written book about two people that are complete opposites that cannot stay away from each other because of their mutual attraction. Maya Goodwin is a Cop who was injured on the job which made her take a take a leave of absence from the force. To keep herself busy she decides to open a martial arts studio to teach kids how to defend themselves along with helping them build their self-esteem. Dr. Alex Nolan is a well know doctor who speaks about certain blood disorders. Dr. Alex recently found out he has a 9-year-old daughter that he is trying to build a relationship with. When Alex comes upon Maya’s martial arts demonstration at the mall he just knows his daughter will love it. He also makes this decision because of the instant attraction he feels when he sees Maya. Alex is always playing it safe and Maya is always spontaneous, will this difference tear the two apart or is it going to bond them together?? You will have to read the book to find out. Like all of Erin’s book you will go through a wide range of emotions. There are parts in the book that I laughed out loud, parts I wanted to cry and parts that you could just feel the love. Although this is the second book in the series it can be read as a Standalone so if you haven’t read the first book it doesn’t matter. This book did not have any violence and there was some sexual content but I felt all scenes were tasteful. This book was a very fast read and I had a hard time putting it down! I cannot wait to read book three to see the fireworks between the next two characters! I highly recommend this book!

I loved this book. No, really: I. Loved. This. Book. If you don't like gushing, babbling reviews that overuse the word 'love' and all of it's various permutations, you might want to skip this one. There are also some things that might be considered very slight SPOILERS in this review.

Forever Mine is the second book in this series, but it is a standalone book that doesn't require you read the first book in the series to understand and enjoy it. That said, the first book (Completely Yours) is really great and should definitely be read so that you can get to know this fun group of friends and appreciate the special relationships which shine in this story.

There are so many things to like about this book, but one thing that I really love is that there isn't a “bad guy” character. Everyone is likable, and any drama is very realistic and based in real-life, rather than having some “big bad” come along and meddle just to add to the drama. Nothing ever feels contrived, it just flows perfectly.

I have a full on book-girl-crush on Maya. I loved that she lives life to the fullest and doesn't let anything hold her back, and especially that she isn't remotely ashamed of her scars. Maya wears her big scars like a badge of honor because she earned them, and they are a part of her. That outlook is SUCH a refreshing change from the normal 'my scars are hideous and I'm ugly because of them' attitude that is prevalent in so many books these days. I also love the way that everything that she does is so full of passion. Whether it is being a friend, teaching her students, sparring with her friends, or falling for Alex, she does everything 100% all-in without swinging to the side of being obnoxiously wild. That also included way that Maya did everything that she could to help facilitate Alex's relationship with his daughter (Charli). She was never jealous or resented his love for his little girl, even when he kept her compartmentalized away from his life with Charli, she still supported and helped him, and that was such a big deal to me. It went to show what an amazing woman she was. Serious girl crush.

And then there was Alex. Happy sigh. Up until this point, Zach (Completely Yours) was my favorite Erin Nicholas book hero. Unfortunately for Zach, it took Alex exactly 26 pages to completely dethrone him. As the book went on, I just found myself growing more and more smitten with Alex for so many reasons, but mainly because of the way that he loved his daughter. The fact that he was so just unashamedly smitten with Charli, and the way that he was desperate to do whatever it took to make a connection with her, to try to prove to her that he was worthy of her love in return, was nothing short of swoon-worthy. He was literally *everything* that I could want in a male book character, even when he stumbled with his balancing act toward the end, he never stopped being a good guy.

The side characters in this book were also incredibly awesome. Charli was sweet and geeky, and although she was testing boundaries – especially with her near-stranger father - she was never a brat or over the top, she was just a kid. Her relationship with Toby was a small part of this book, but it was a HUGE spotlight on the special kind of kid that Charli is. Which brings us to her mom. Rachel was an absolutely fantastic character and I SO appreciated Ms. Nicholas not making her the villain in this story, but instead making her level-headed woman, a wonderful mother, and just a good person. I would happily read about her getting her HEA should that book ever come to pass. Maya's friend were, as usual, fantastic, and I can't help but hope that the male characters will get stories so that we can see everyone get their HEA. (No pressure or anything, Ms. Nicholas!)

The subject of hemophilia was a brave topic to write about, and I thought that it was handled incredibly well. Although I have no personal experience with hemophilia, I feel like I have a better understanding of some of the challenges that people who live with it have, and how they make their own modifications to live an active - but safer - lifestyle. That said, I can't lie and pretend that I still won't have the urge to go into bubble-wrap mode should I meet someone with it, but I would have a better understanding of them as I bubble-wrapped them to keep them safe.

I cannot recommend this book enough. The relationship between Maya and Alex is so sweet and so hot that this book will appeal to anyone who likes a romance novel in general, but if you swoon over dads who cherish their kids, you have got to read this one. You will not be disappointed.

I won a paperback copy of this book from the author and was under absolutely no obligation to write this review or to pre-order the book – I did both things because I (yes) loved this book.

I'm always on the lookout for books featuring smart heroines. The Opposites Attract series is about a trio of Lady Nerds, each with their own geeky interest. Each book stands on its own so you can read them in any order you want. Forever Mine is Maya's story.

Maya is all about cosplay, martial arts, and super heroes. I could care less about these things- much like Alex- but Maya's enthusiasm is contagious. She's spunky and passionate about her interests, as well as the people she loves. She initiates most of her relationship with Alex- she's someone who goes after what she wants- and this sets up an interesting, not always good, dynamic in their relationship.

Alex is an enigma. He's brilliant in his field as a hematologist but refuses to tell his colleagues or anyone else he has hemophilia himself. His mom overshared this information when he was a child and so he's swung in the opposite direction. (Is this possible?Wouldn't he have worn a medical bracelet or something along those lines in case of emergency?) When he finds out a) he has a 9 year old daughter from a one-night stand and b) she has hemophilia, he goes above and beyond to make up for not being there for her sooner. Alex is a truly good guy. He is loyal and funny and tries to do what's right.

He thinks he shouldn't start a relationship because of his daughter but he has a hard time resisting Maya, especially when she's teaching him martial arts which he can then modify for his daughter and she's schooling him on his daughter's favorite superheroes. It's a really great set up for the story and I loved seeing Maya shine as an instructor and Alex's dedication to his daughter. They have wonderful chemistry together and I loved how their very different interests are brought them together in the first place. It was so fun watching their relationship grow!

Maya's friendship with Sophie and Kiera still plays a big role, as it did in the first book. These girls have been through a lot together and there's great growth that happens because of their friendship. I'm so happy whenever female friendship plays a big role in a novel because it's true to my life and most people I know.

Hemophilia is such an interesting illness to spotlight. Definitely a great choice. Because I used to be a pediatric oncology/hematology social worker, I had a few quibbles with the medical aspects of his storyline. Having the same diagnosis as the population you treat is a major boon and I couldn't understand why he wouldn't disclose it to his patients. I also wish the interdisciplinary pediatric team had been highlighted. At least by the end he understands the areas where he needs to grow as a doctor.

One geek plus one doctor equals a sweet, enjoyable story of opposites who attract. I'm looking forward to Sophie's story next!

This series just gets better and better as each of the “Opposites Attract”, fall in love – irrevocable, irreversible and irresistible!

If I thought “Completely Yours” was one of Erin’s finest writings, “Forever Mine” surpasses beyond that and more. Maya Goodwin is by far Erin’s crowning glory – strong and courageous, witty and tenacious, aggressive and stubborn, never for a second would she hesitates to step in front of danger to save a person. And Dr. Alex Nolan never saw her coming with her swords and boa!

Cautious and a planner, Alex Nolan doesn’t know what to do with Maya and the instant attraction that sizzles at first sight. His entire life goes on the wind, as he tries to bond with a daughter he never knew he had, battling a rare medical issue, and his constant want for Maya. Keeping the two parallel is a losing battle.

Between the martial classes and sword swinging, between the pages of galactic history and boa classes, and between the passion and lust that sizzle the bed sheets, “Forever Mine” is pure orgasmic read!

Kudos to Erin’s creativity and imagination as she weaves these stories in and around superheroes, paying special attention to the chemistry and emotions among the players, keeping the characters down to earth and normal, with enough layers to charm the readers.

Again, some books are beyond reviews and need to be read to enjoy every scene, every emotion and every word and Erin Nicholas’s books are just that.

This is the second book in the Opposites Attract series. And when it comes to Maya and Alex, I don't think you could find two people that were any less alike. Maya is a risk taker. She usually has a good reason for taking the risk but she thinks of others before she thinks of her own safety. Her career as a cop ended when she was trying to rescue a dog. Alex always plays it safe. But then he has good reason for not taking risks. Now more so then ever, Alex needs to show his newly discovered daughter that unnecessary risks needs to be avoided at all costs. But apparently being polar opposites doesn't stop the attraction.
This was a great contemporary romance. I have to say I also found it very informative as I've never read about a hero with hemophilia. Author Erin Nichols explained in the forward how she had researched the topic for both Alex and his daughter's condition. Wouldn't have expected to find this topic covered in a romance novel but I liked that it was a different twist because it is a condition that affects many people.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.
