    Munichwalker:  Completed Berlin Marathon 12 months after meniscus, cartilage and ligament damage and with bruised ribs four weeks before (aged 42).

  3. Taylor ban could be increased

    Defender Neil Taylor could face more than a one-game ban for his red card in the World Cup qualifier in Dublin.

    Taylor will sit-out the Group D tie in Serbia, on June 11 after being sent off for his challenge  which broke the leg  of Republic of Ireland captain Seamus Coleman in Friday's 0-0 draw.

    But that could increase to three games if Fifa review the incident once they receive the referee's report.

  5. Brady to captain Republic of Ireland

    Burnley's Robbie Brady will captain the Republic of Ireland in Tuesday's international friendly against Iceland in Dublin.

    The Republic's regular skipper Seamus Coleman sustained a  broken leg against Wales  in a challenge by Neil Taylor on Friday and faces a lengthy rehabilitation process after surgery to pin the tibia and fibula in his right leg.

    On Monday, manager Martin O'Neill said Coleman was "still pretty down" about the injury.

    He added: "The operation went well and it's just a matter of coming to terms with it."

  7. League Two Player of the Year shortlist

    And last but not least - the League Two shortlist features two nominees from leaders Doncaster Rovers - striker John Marquis,  24, and 36-year-old midfielder James Coppinger .

    They're up against Luton striker Danny Hylton, 28.

    Meanwhile, the EFL Young Player of the Year shortlist is made up by 21-year-old John Swift of Reading, Oxford United's 19-year-old Ryan Ledson and Ollie Watkins, 21, of Exeter City.

    League One leaders Sheffield United have two of the three nominees for the third-tier award - the division's top scorer Billy Sharp, 31, and midfielder John Fleck, 25.

  9. Championship Player of the Year shortlist

    Football

    Leeds striker Chris Wood , Newcastle forward Dwight Gayle and Brighton winger Anthony Knockaert have been nominated for the EFL's Championship Player of the Year award.

    New Zealand's Wood, 24, has scored 24 league goals so far this season, while Gayle, 26, has 21 goals from 28 league games for leaders Newcastle.

    Former Leicester man Knockaert, 25, has scored 13 goals to help Chris Hughton's side to second in the table.

    Dale Evans

    Dale Evans says he could not leave his house and considered quitting boxing after opponent Mike Towell died following their fight in September.  

    Towell, 25,  died in hospital on 30 September,  the day after his bout with Welshman Evans in Glasgow.

    Almost six months on, Evans has revealed a meeting with Towell's mother gave him the strength to carry on.

    Evans said a meeting with his opponent's mother Tracey at the Scot's funeral was a turning point for him.

    Former England captain Rio Ferdinand has told the BBC that his children would not talk about the death of their mother.

    Speaking to BBC Radio 5 live, he said his children would "shut me down" when he asked them how they were feeling.

    He said he did not know the best way to talk to his three children, now aged 10, eight and five.

    Ferdinand's wife, Rebecca, was 34 when she died of breast cancer in May 2015. The couple got married in 2009.

    The ex-Manchester Utd defender was speaking to 5 live ahead of a BBC One documentary about grief on Tuesday at 21:00 BST.
