Raven: To seek, plunder, or prey. To devour ravenously. To seize as spoil.

I am Raven.

I knew what it meant to fight my way through life.
To be the victim, the spoil, the prey.
I decided long ago I would take control of my future.

No more bug infested couches.

No more drug-addicted mothers or absentee fathers.

No more welfare checks or moldy bread.

No more settling.

I thought I had it all figured out, a way out of the hand I’d been dealt.

Until my life got turned upside down by two very different men who look at me with mirrored lust in their eyes.
Their want is palpable, heady. Their desire makes me reckless.
I no longer know who I am or who I want.

The only thing I do know is, I am ravenous.
Voracious. Intensely eager for gratification or satisfaction.

Despite the fact I know it is a disaster waiting to happen, I can’t stop it.

I’m afraid I will never be sated.

description I like this cover. I guess it's a pretty good representation of the story. I mean they have sex...so?? *lol* The composition is good. Interesting typography for the title. The name and the tagline is a little too big in my opinion. Otherwise it's a great cover.description

descriptionI enjoyed this one a lot. It was well written. It had a nice steady pace to it. The plot was interesting. It had some angst. It had misunderstandings. It had hot sex scenes. It had some feels. It had some interesting side characters. I am excited to read Porter's book. He was a bit of a douche, but I think there is a good guy hiding in there somewhere. I also enjoyed Raven's BFF Emma and her sister Chrissy. Though not HUGE parts of the book they added a nice extra layer to the story.

description

Both main characters were likable for the most part. Raven was a sweet woman trying to make a better life for herself and her sister. I didn't particularly like her back and forth dithering over Porter and Breck. I understood it, but I thought it went on too long. Breck was a great hero if a little underdeveloped in my opinion. I think my main issue was that he and Raven don't spend a lot of time together before these heavy feelings develop. Just a day and half a night. He seemed a wee bit over infatuated with her and part of me felt it came across a bit like he was just trying to get back at Porter since he expressed an interest in Raven. Particularly with the history between the two brothers. I wish we would have gotten more pages of them as a couple outside of just that one day.

That said, I still inhaled this one all in one sitting, and I fully plan to inhale Porter's book as well when it become available. Two thumbs up from yours truly.description

I didn’t like that the h was attracted to the H’s twin brother.

Ok, he was the one to hire her as escort and she was ready to have sex with him. Since he was called to emergency, they only kissed.

But after she had sex with the hero and afterwards kissed his brother – it wasn’t ok. IMO. She even thought about becoming his/H’s brother “mistress”. There was no sex, but they kissed, she was aroused and he touched her. Call me a prude, but I don’t consider this book safe.

Good writing, likable heroine, cute little sister.

But I can’t switch my moral compass.

I'm not new to L.L. Collin's books, but Ravenous has made its way into becoming one of my favorites. One word, Breck. I loved every part of him. His compassion, his heart, his vulnerability were the perfect combination to have me tearing through the pages. Ravenous is a compelling story filled with real, honest, flawed characters who will have you rooting for each and every one of them.

"I'm an escort." A what? An escort? What the hell was that? Like...a prostitute?

Growing up on the wrong side of the tracks has left Raven mostly responsible for her twin sister due to their mother’s drug addiction. In an effort to make enough money to get her sister out of their mother’s house Raven begins working for an escort service. Raven doesn’t expect to meet the two alluring Kingsley brothers and have such a strong attraction to them. Porter Kingsley is the over-confident playboy Doctor while Brecken is the down-to-earth compassionate teacher. Raven has to look deep inside herself and figure out what she truly wants—before she becomes entangled past the point of no return.

This was a new-to-me author and I greatly enjoyed the story and her writing style! I found the characters and storyline engaging with just the right amount of details and action. Everything flowed throughout the story and while there were gaps in some events, I found the timeline of events very believable. I’m not a contemporary romance reader but once in a while, a blurb will spark my interest.

Two brothers, completely different, but both with a strange hold over a part of my heart, which was ridiculous because neither of them really knew me at all.

The chemistry of Raven and the two brothers was off the charts!! I LOVED the contrast between the two guys and how the author showed us which one could do what for her. We have Porter, the playboy and uber-successful one, who oozes sex appeal but isn't looking for forever. And then we have Brecken, every young woman's favorite- our wounded hero who needs a strong woman to remind him what a bada$$ he is. *swoon*

Despite how much I liked the story there was one element that I did feel detract from the story. Personally, the blurb pulled me into reading and I expected a gritty contempo romance but alas it was not- I feel the whole “escort” thing was put in there to get attention and abandoned when it came time to introduce. The escort pitch was not believable in ANY way- we’re talking a bunch of young women who are never groped or assaulted, straight A students, and never had a date with a dirty old rich man. *rolls eyes* If that’s the case where do I sign up? Seriously… no. I wanted some dirt- some heartache- have our heroine work for a HEA- not hand it to her on a silver platter.

Overall, still a good read for me- 4 stars xx

I loved Raven!! I admired her courage, determination, and strength! She wanted a better life not for herself but for her sister, Chrissy. She needs money, a job and to remove Chrissy from their mother! When push comes to shove and opportunity comes knocking.... Raven answers! That same opportunity puts her in the path of 2 men! Identical in looks but, different in every other way!

Breck is a teacher and ex-military and Porter is a famous surgeon. I felt Raven had a hard choice to make! One offers fun and a friends with benefits relationship. The other offers the possibility of more! Does she go for the teacher, the surgeon or neither of them. I know whatever choice Raven makes will be the right one for Chrissy and herself.

The author pulls you into this story and Raven's life. I am hoping to read more about Raven and the gang!

I love it when a author can make the reader feel as if what they are reading is really happening. I got so into these characters that I couldn't put the book down afraid I was going to miss out on something crucial going on in their lives. Crazy, I know but that is just how involved I got while reading.
The characters Breck, Porter and Raven are well crafted, plot well thought out and beautifully written..

Excellent Read.

“How do you read my mind?”
"Don't you know yet? I see you, Raven."

This is one of those that the title had my attention and I want to read it. Another new-to-me author and so going in, no expectations and no anything.

The first couple of chapters were actually a meh for me, but I was curious enough to continue reading and I was glad I did. Since this is another case of going in blind, I'm glad I did.

Raven is an escort, whose new to the job, so she could save up money and get her sister to live with her. She has a lot of issues with her life and circumstances, but that she's strong and would do anything for her sister.

Brecken grew up with an inferiority complex with his twin brother, never feeling good enough or haven't had that connection with anyone, a feeling that left him out of sorts as though nobody gets him.

I think what I like about this was it Breckwas kinda stalkerish at first and so on how they eventually meet was kinda funny but that it was filled with anticipation and speculations on how Raven would actually react.

Although it's quite different since the characters actually spent more time apart than together, the character development was good and the meeting weren't forced as well as the random circumstances just felt like a push of fate that the flow of the story is quite refreshing.

This was a good story that I enjoy, something after I've overcome the meh feeling I became invested in and left me feeling unable to let go until I'm able to finish reading it. Can't wait for what's in store for Porter!

Ravenous by LL Collins 5 Stars

If I say I ravenously devoured this book, is that too cheesy? – Maybe? Ok, I won’t say it then :)

If you have never read L.L. Collins before, this is a great book to start with.

Ravenous is the standalone story of Raven and Breck. Raven is a strong woman who is taking control of her future. Breck is a guy who absolutely knows what he wants to do in life. When Raven and Breck meet there is an undeniable chemistry. Both of them are strong in their convictions of doing what is right for themselves. They both have "stuff" in their past that have defined who they are today.

This book grabbed me right from the first page and I read it straight through in one sitting. The characters developed quickly, both main and secondary, and the book flowed really well. It’s told in a dual POV which is fantastic - I enjoy being able to see some of motivation behind actions.

As with all of LL Collins’ books, I will be rereading this in the future for sure.

L.L. Collins is a new to me author and I'm so happy I've gotten to read her work. She's been on my TBR but this is the first book of hers that I've read. While I admit that I thought this book was going to be a bit darker than what it was, I'm happy with the outcome. I really didn't know that I would have swooned over someone as much as I did.

I enjoyed the plot a lot. I like the idea that the Raven could like both guys for total different reasons. I won't give away anything but the idea of just who the two guys are and how they are all roped in together is fun to watch play out. I myself found that I liked both Porter and Breck. Although they are completely different, they both have something about them that is very appealing.
I also really liked Raven. She's trying to change her adult life into something much better than what her drugged up mother provided for her. She has a big heart and we get to see that with her love and concern for her sister. Because of her past, she's always felt a little inferior to others so when Breck shows up in her life and sets out to make sure she believes just how amazing she is, I about died from swooning. If that is possible. He's just so freaking sweet.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It's well written and has a steady pace that allowed me to read it in one sitting. I can't wait to get my hands on the next one. I really need that story. I'm ready to watch the main character for that one fall and fall hard. Well done, L.L. I'm so excited to finally discover your work!

I have become a huge fan of L.L. Collins' books, so I couldn't wait to see what this book was going to be like, since it looked different that what she usually puts out. Let me tell you, I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED in the slightest, as Ravenous showcased her brilliant writing style on new levels. Raven was a character that I fell in love with instantly, and cheered her on the whole book. She will do anything to keep her sister safe, not to mention, make sure she doesn't have the same childhood that Raven survived. Breck and Porter were drool worthy twins, and I couldn't get enough of them. Twists came out of left field, which kept me on my toes the entire story, while dropping loud f-bombs everywhere. From the first page on, I was 100% invested, and devoured it in one sitting. There were so many favorite moments throughout, but a biggie is how these characters were realistic with flaws, like they could be my friends in real life. I CANNOT WAIT for more, as I wanted to cry by the end because my exciting journey into their lives was over! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Ravenous by L.L. Collins is a gem, a 5 Star read.
Raven is a young woman who hadn´t an easy life. She cares for her little sister and her own education. She does what she needs to do.
At her "job" she meets two men. Two enticing men. She has insta-chemistry to both.
But decisions are to be made.
I loved this book from page one. I love LL Collins writing, and I love the characters. I love how they struggle and fight for the things they want.
Ravenous put me through the wringer- it was a rollercoaster of emotions.
And I wish I had my own Kingsley.
I highly recommend this book and wish I could give more than 5 Stars.
Thank you LL Collins!!

This is my first book by this author, but I can guarantee that it will not be the last. I fell wholeheartedly for Raven and Breck. A fantastic story that is backed up by amazing and complex characters. L. L. Collins captivated me from the start and I thought of nothing else but the characters and the sensationally deep yet blindingly beautiful story they told. I have found a new auto one click author to add to my list. Love, love, love this author.

Slow hand clap for this book. It was awesome. L.L. Collins delivers another hit. I have been with her from her first book, and I will continue to read anything that she publishes. Her writing is flawless. She puts her heart and soul into her work. She wants her product to be perfect for her readers. This book will take you on a roller coaster ride with your emotions. Will you cheer for Porter? Will you cheer for Breck? I devoured this book. My jaws clenched. My stomach was in knots. I just couldn't put it down. I rushed to read every word just to see how this would turn out. I will be going back to reread this book so I can savor it. You see, this is a book about twin brothers (Breck- hot teacher and Porter- hot doctor) and a 21-year-old woman who is just trying to find her way in this world (Raven). The hotness factor is OFF the charts. L. L. creates characters who are flawed. They work through their flaws to become a better person. Dual point of view. No cliffhangers. Give this book a try. You will not be disappointed.

I know many books have a lot of positive reviews in the first few days after their release, but damn…I can’t understand why this book has so many positive reviews.

It’s entertaining, I’ll give it that much, and I did manage to finish it and although I considered giving it 3 stars at one point, the fact that this is supposed to be a love triangle and, imo, it completely failed at that…I can’t give it more than 2 stars.

I’m not the biggest fan of love triangles because the heroine is usually wishy-washy and tstl, but every now and again I do enjoy one (because angst.); and since I was in the mood for some angst, I picked this up.

Unfortunately, though, it’s completely unbelievable. Every person’s feelings are unbelievable. Except for Brecks’ feelings, because he was such an utter wuss, it made sense that he would be so madly in love with a girl he barely spent 24 hours with. Damn, he was so pathetic, I kind of felt bad for him.

That, I think, is the main issue with this book. The heroine barely spent any time with the heroes, and yet somehow they’re all in love (well, except for Porter). With Breck, she spent a day at the beach and half a night. With Porter, she went on one date. One.

Everything about this triangle was fabricated to create angst. Everything. Porter’s character in particular made absolutely no sense to me. He is an absolute shit brother and I can’t understand how he could do what he did to his TWIN brother. Breck flat out tells him, I’m into this girl, please don’t pursue her and he promises he won’t, but he does. Why? Because…angst? I don’t know, I really don’t. Nothing about his actions made sense. Especially because it’s not like Porter had any problem with his brother or anything of the sort. Apparently he’s just so selfish and self-centred that he doesn’t understand what the consequences of his actions would be - but come on, man…it’s his twin brother we’re talking about. He’s not so clueless about the world he lives that he wouldn’t understand that what he does is wrong. But then, the angst had to come from somewhere…

And the heroine? Her attraction to Porter, once again, made no sense. Her reluctance to be with Breck because his brother told her he’s a “forever” kind of guy was so nonsensical. I mean, what exactly did she think, just because Breck prefers relationships to casual sex, that means you can’t even try something with him? What does she think would happen, she’d have to automatically marry him or something? She barely knew the guy! She’s clearly a lot more into Breck, but whenever there was a need for angst, she was suddenly just soooo attracted to Porter. Plus, the fact that she considered getting paid for sex really killed her character for me - and I actually liked her when she wasn’t with any of the 2 brothers or thinking of them.

Another issue I had with this book is that we are constantly being told things, but never really shown. The character development is almost non-existent. As I said earlier, their actions rarely make sense in terms of their characters - most of what they do is there so that the story continues to have angst.

I gave this book 5 stars!

This was my first book from Ms. Collins and I am defiantly hooked now!!!!

This book is a standalone about Raven and Breck. Raven is a strong woman who is mature beyond her years. BRECK is sexy, compassion, the best heart. This book will take you on a emotional roller coaster ride and will leave wanting more. The chemistry is off the charts and both have things from the past that makes them the people they are today.

I devoured this book in one setting and loved it being in dual POV because we get to see what each character is got on their mind. I also felt a connection with the secondary characters as well. This book will be on my re-read list.

Thanks Ms. Collins for letting me fall in love with your books.

L.L. Collins has another hit with Ravenous! This book has angst, drama, and a story that will grip you from beginning to end!

Raven has had a rough upbringing, so she’s doing everything she can to better her life and help get her sister out of the life she’s in now, so when she’s offered a job that can help get her the money she needs to help her younger sister Chrissy get out of her mom’s care sooner rather than later, she’s hesitant, but ultimately takes the job. When her first date ends up being with Porter Kingsley, the sexy surgeon she hits the jackpot, but she didn’t realize his sexy twin brother Breck saw her and wants her too. This leads to an interesting story and Raven figuring out who she is and what she ultimately wants in life.

I loved watching Raven trying to figure out what she really wanted, and trying to figure out why she should stay away from the Kingsley brother’s. One was the go to have fun with no strings attached buy, and the other was the “forever guy”. She in her heart knew which one she wanted, but her head and her heart couldn’t ever get on the same page, and this brought a lot of angst in this book. Trust me, at times you will want to throw your Kindle across the room for getting so frustrated with her. Not only is she going back and forth with these two guys, which I will say she isn’t even seeing, she just can’t get them out of her head, but she’s dealing with her sister, and trying to be a good role-model for her, and trying to get through school. Raven is more grown up then most grown ups I know in real life. Her life isn’t easy, and throw in trying to have a love life, and her life is crazy!

For being the youngest of the three main characters in this book, Raven to me was the most mature of all of them. She thinks things through and is always thinking of how her decisions are going to affect her and her sister. She puts Chrissy first in all of her decisions, where Breck and Porter hold resentment towards each other but don’t talk to each other about it, and act as if everything is fine. They are both amazing men in their own right, but children at the same time. I did have my favorite of the two guys, but I won’t say which, because I want you, the reader, to pick your favorite, and also because the other brother is getting his own book this summer, so I hope he ends up becoming more likeable in that book as well.

This book was a great story, but I felt as if we had so much build up to Raven finally figuring out what she wanted, and then BOOM it was over. I wish we could have had more of what it was like seeing her make that decision, and seeing her get her HEA, after seeing all of the struggles it took for her to get there. I loved how much her character grew in this book as well as how much all of the characters grew. It sucked seeing Emma’s character sort of disappear in this book though since she was a huge part in the beginning of this story. I really enjoyed how this story progressed and the characters in this book. If you’re looking for a unique romance to curl up with I highly suggest picking up Ravenous today!

I do spoilers so I don't forget shit.
This is your only warning.

I just read another book by this author I bought a couple of years ago and liked it enough to check out what she has available on KU. This was it. The "love" interest of any of the participants in this triangle was impossible to believe. FMC had 1 evening date that ended in a kiss from the MMC2. A week later FMC had 1 entire day which ended in sex with MMC1. It is unfathomable that any of these encounters led to an ILY. I believe in love at first sight, and I could believe it in MMC1, but could never believe it in the other 2 characters. DNF'd 90%. I couldn't make myself finish this clunker.

Rating - 2 stars (because, boring)

Cover - Meh, I have my own tits. Not looking for others to compare them to.

FMC - she's an escort who doesn't put out. I WANT THAT JOB. I could totally look sexy and make small talk with the rich and famous for a living. Couldn't you? Too bad it isn't real. That's where the book (and the character) falls apart...reality. And the fact she "loves" MMC1 but still has "feelings" for MMC2. They're TWINS. She can't figure that shit out? Dumb as a brick.

MMC1 - Entirely too Beta.

MMC2 - Entirely too Alpha and uncaring of his TWIN'S feelings. He was written as such a self centered prick, I don't think he's anybody's idea of a Hero for a future book. Even if he his epiphany about what a monster dick he is real. He goes STILL goes after the FMC even AFTER his bro makes it clear he wants the FMC in a serious relationship. Not the FWB MMC2 wants to pursue with the FMC. This guy also had a FWB with the then current girlfriend of his bro, MMC1, while he was fighting in Afghanistan.

Plot - 2 dates, each with a different man and the FMC is in "love" with one of them. She just can't really decide if she doesn't want BOTH men. Throw in some drama-llama crap with the FMC's sister and the end.

HEA - Sure. I guess. If MMC2 tries to keep it in his pants around the FMC.

Smut - Not. Enough. The FMC had a date and kisses MMC2 first. Then has a date and sleeps with MMC1. Rest of book is all of them dithering about each other. Boring.

Read with Mo. Even though the writing was good, we both regret reading this.
B.B. Is still reading Regency.
Thanks for making me do this Mo.
I better see you on here soon.
Miss you Lex.

Raven, a dark haired beauty who really doesn't know her own worth, wants only one thing in life. That is for her sister to have a good life, away from a drugged out mama on a downhill slide. She works hard, saves her money and dreams of the day when she can bring Chrissy, her sister to live with her. When her best friend Emma, sets her up in an escort service, all Raven can think about is the money that she will make. Brecken is a school teacher who has always lived in the shadows of his twin brother, Porter, who is a famous surgeon. Their looks is about the only thing these two men share, except for their desire for Raven.
The characters in this book will grab your heart from the very first page and not let go until the end. There is passion, romance, angst, misunderstandings, friends and family. I have to admit I really didn't know what to expect when I started this book but soon found out that my expectations were not high enough, I devoured this book and cannot wait for to read Porter's book.
I highly recommend this book to any romance lover!!

You know that feeling you get sometimes - hopefully not often - when you get to the end of a book and you think... Why did I bother with that? Seriously, why did I keep reading? Why did I waste my precious time with that rubbish?

That was me after finishing this story. And to be honest I don't want to waste even more time writing a review for it, so I'll keep this brief.

Things I liked

- Identical twin love interests (I can't resist twins, and they were identical - bonus)
- The heroines backstory and younger sister

Things I didn't like

- The arrogant twin
- The insta-love
- The insta-sex
- The empty love based on nothing but attraction and ONE face to face meeting (when they had sex WITHOUT A CONDOM)

I might have liked it had the MC's 'love' been built on more than just one date, but it wasn't, and I'm not a big fan of insta-love.

Two different men. Two different personalities. One woman. How would you choose? Just in the midst of chaos Raven makes a decision that could turn her life around. But, in doing so she meets two men who are so similar but so very different at the same time. How can she choose when both men make her feel weak in the knees? When she has such strong chemistry with both of them? Will her decision be the right one or will she go down the wrong path? Will they be able to handle all the secrets she keeps and the baggage that comes with being with her? Although, this book is not your typical love triangle. Emma will leave you on the edge of your seat, biting your nails, wondering who she will choose. But, at the end you will be rooting for the relationship to prosper. Trust me when I say this book is a must read.

Could've been better

So I liked the idea of the plot and was excited to read this book but the way the characters were really turned me off to the book. Some of the things that were said during the sex scenes weren't what people say in real life - it made her seem like a professional hooker and I hated that there was this insta-love at first site thing JUST by her looks alone and he basically was in love with her before he knew ANYTHING about her. It was an ok read but could've been better

This is my first book by LL Collins and I'm hooked. Ravenous has an engaging plot, great characters, and sexy twin brothers who both want the girl. Who will win out? Who is the better man? Who will be determined to make a change? This book kept me so engaged, and I can't wait to read the next one - Insaitiable.

I absolutely love everything that LL Collins writes and this was no different! It's not your typical love story but it works!! Two people who have been hurt in their past, somehow find love with each other. This book is amazing read and I can't wait for Porter's story. Well done LL

4.25 stars. Really solid love triangle that scratched my itch for this trope. The only reason why I didn't give this 5 stars was cause I wished this was longer to flesh out the characters more. Either way, I am definitely looking forward to the next book!
