The OCW Insect Control District allows residents to "opt out" of insecticide spraying on town roads along their property (in the towns of Brandon, Leicester, Salisbury, Goshen, Pittsford, and Proctor). To "opt out," send a letter requesting that your property be a "no spray zone." Submitting your letter by early April will ensure that you are opted out before spraying starts, but you can opt out anytime. You must include a tax map of your property.
You can find a map of your property by entering your address at the state website:
https://maps.vcgi.vermont.gov/ParcelViewer/. Or submit the form below. We will email you an image of your map.
If you opted out last year, you can renew for this year by sending an email to
ocwicd@gmail.com. No map is required in the email.
To complete your first “opt out” application, submit the map and a letter with your name, address, and phone number to:
OCW Insect Control District
P.O. Box 188
Brandon, VT 05733.
These opt out requests should be mailed but the jpeg map can be sent via email to
ocwicd@gmail.com.
To see if your property is on one of the regular spraying routes, refer to:
https://ocwicd.com/route-maps/. Some road sections not shown at that site are also regularly sprayed. If you do not opt out, OCW reserves the right to spray pesticides along the entire length of your private driveway without notice or permission.
