He wasn’t always this rich. This hot. This difficult.
Aaric Christos was a guy who protected me. Wanted me. Maybe even loved me.
That man is gone.
In his place is the most powerful real estate tycoon in the city.
He’s a cold, ruthless, aggressive businessman.
The only one who can save me and my startup from ruin.
It takes every ounce of courage to put my pride aside and ask for his help.
I didn’t expect him to offer it easily.
And he doesn’t.
Instead, he vets me harder than he’s vetted anyone.
Don’t invest in what you don’t know, he says.
He's assessing every piece of me, to the point I've never felt so bare.
I yearn for the boy I once knew, whose touch once craved me.
Putting it all on the line will be worth it, I tell myself.
Until I realize—too late—that some risks are not worth taking.

People who are meant to be together find their way back. They may take a few detours, but they’re never lost.

There is no love story as special to me as a second-chance romance...my absolute favorite!!! Soul mates who have always loved each other are granted a do-over. There is no greater love like second-chance love, this special love that finds its way back to two often broken souls.

Second-chance romances speak to the soul like no other love stories, and oh did Tycoon by Katy Evans speak to mine. This story of soul mates who found each other again was EVERYTHING!!! Tycoon, this spellbinding and spine-tingling second-chance romance, was my heart…my soul…MY KRYPTONITE.

I sank myself wholeheartedly into Tycoon from the start, this story saturating me, giving me no choice but to succumb to its power. I DEVOURED Tycoon and it devoured me. Its MAGNETIC PULL held me captive. Nothing else mattered. Tycoon ENGULFED me where I clung to every word, unequivocally ENAMORED with this raw romance.

These characters held my heart from the start!

Beautiful Bryn is so strong and sassy. She has been through hell and persevered. I felt her grow up so much in this story.

Like Katy Evans' other highly-addictive heroes, Aaric Christos has an animal magnetism and radiates power. Devastatingly handsome. Chiseled. Commanding. Caring. Unwavering. This ALL ALPHA...this Greek God OWNED EVERY OUNCE OF ME. So incredibly intense and dominant, Aaric is a man who fights for what and who he wants. He is a man of honor who I LOVED SO HARD. Aaric is PURE PERFECTION.

Aaric and Bryns' paths again cross after many years.

"You look like a boy who thinks he'll get to kiss me."

My eyebrows rise. "I'm not a boy."

She clears her throat, bristling and turning around. "No, but you're kind of a jerk."

I grab her wrist, smiling as I turn back. "I will kiss you though."

I wanted Aaric to kiss me. LE SWOON. The chemistry is COMBUSTIBLE, so HOT it should be lethal. I MELTED, morphing into a puddle of goo from Aaric's commanding words that wield power and passion.

"You make me want to protect you and at the same time you make me want to break you. I want you to stop thinking and just f**king feel me. Feel this."

I FELT EVERY WORD STREAM THROUGH MY SOUL, LIGHTING MY HEART ON FIRE.

"Can you see how much I want you, bit?"

Tycoon BLEEDS ANGST, as two childhood friends fight the MORE.

A relationship is a risk that neither broken soul may be able to afford to take.

"Promise me you'll forget me."

"No, bit. I promise you I never will."

I WAS WRECKED. My HEART HURT. My SOUL WAS SLAYED.

Katy Evans turned my world around again, tilting the axis to Tycoon, where I did nothing but BASK IN BOTH THE BROKENNESS AND BLISS OF THIS BOOK. Tycoon, this INTENSE and INCREDIBLE tale, thoroughly INTOXICATED ME. I was so DRUNK on this romance, savoring every word like smooth and sweet whiskey. I LOVED TYCOON TO THE MOON AND BACK!!!

I LIVED and BREATHED Tycoon. Its words BLED straight to my heart, leaping out of my chest, as they beat for this book. I cried happy and heartbreaking tears, as Tycoon STOLE MY SENSES, entangling around every emotion. This roller coaster of a romance owned every emotion...OWNING ALL OF ME.

My heart leapt out of my chest. My throat gulped. My pulse pounded. My smiles morphed into tears. My tears morphed into sobs. I did not expect Tycoon to TEAR ME TO SHREDS. I did not expect to FEEL ALL THE FEELS, but damn if I didn't revel in the whirlwind of EMOTIONS THAT ENGULFED every bit of me. TYCOON both tore my heart apart yet made it soar to the sky.

Heart-stopping sexy and seductive, Tycoon is a second-chance romance—fueled by fate—that burns the body and seizes the soul. Undeniable. Unstoppable. Unputdownable. Unequivocally MINE.

"Some what ifs, some you never get to do over."

"Sometimes you get another try."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! Tycoon (stand-alone). An impossible & inevitable romance with a past as Bryn seeks funding with tycoon Aaric Christos!

“He was a little bit too bad, and I was a little bit too good. He was a demon in the making and I was still Daddy’s little angel…”

Books in series are stand-alones:
Book 1: Tycoon
Book 2: Mogul

Tycoon (stand-alone) opens up to aspiring entrepreneur and heiress Bryn Kelly getting a presentation with business mogul and investor Aaric Christos to seek funding for her start-up. The meeting does not go quite as expected, but not a total loss as the door is left open for another meeting….

And another meeting and another meeting…

As it turns out Aaric and Bryn have a history that will unfold with story as Bryn relentlessly pursues Aaric with her business proposition while things always seem to get in their way. Yet there is hope because Aaric and Bryn have chemistry and hints of a long-lost puppy-love…

Aaric Christos landed himself on my top-10 hero shelf. This blond Adonis of a man knew how to balance aloof, mysterious, hot-cold, non-committal, enigmatic with just enough traces of a man who once cared.

Seven words to describe Bryn Kelly: Relentless, determined, reflective, reserved, stubborn, broken and apprehensive.

Tycoon, told from dual POVs, is an impossible romance with that perfect blend of sexual frustration, obstacles, villains and above all Aaric and Bryn fighting their attraction. Ultimately, it’s a journey of forgiveness and letting go; Two lives shaped by tragedies, regrets, missed opportunities and secrets. My favorite Katy Evans hero! I loved every moment of it!

“There has always been a you and I. Except only you and I know it. Only you and I know all the touches that never happened. All the kisses we never took.”

This was just an okay read for me. Okay as in meh.

God, I feel like such a witch again. I love Katy Evans and I was so excited about this book. But I have to be brutally honest, I'm sorry. I can’t help it.

I wasn't overly impressed with the storyline. You see, that ‘same old, same old’ plot? Sometimes it works for me and sometimes it doesn’t. In this case it didn’t.

Her parents were killed in an accident. She lives with a female roommate with a heart of gold. She’s desperately looking for an investor and decides to ask help from her high school friend. He loved her once but she didn't really want him.

BUT.

He is a tycoon now, imposing, enigmatic, hot as hell. And suddenly, she wants him badly.

But it's not just her. The whole female population of New York City is crazy about him.

Of course, he is cold and unemotional at first because he is broken. He lost someone he loved. He's also unavailable. But don't worry, the heroine doesn't mind. Besides, he doesn't love his girlfriend.

Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera… You get the picture.

And that twist towards the end? I’m sorry but I still can’t stop rolling my eyes.

Then there are the characters.

I couldn’t relate to the heroine. I didn’t like her. Plus, she’s a cheater in my eyes. I would never be her friend in real life. To be honest, I didn’t particularly like the hero either.

Finally, I didn’t like the style. I always have a problem with the first person, present tense narration. But then again, there are a lot of books written in that way that I loved in the past so that can't be my biggest problem here.

My biggest problem were the chapters (which were too short), the abrupt changes of scenes and all that jumping from one point in time to another with lots of unfilled gaps. There were no enough details which led to the lack of depth and true emotions in the story.

I’m sure this will be a very enjoyable read for a lot of readers. And luckily, judging from the other reviews I’m in the minority on this one.

➳Sparks can be found in every other romance novel out there, but Katy Evans knows how to provide an explosion of fireworks with the chemistry that Aaric and Bryn have in this incredibly written love story that will have you hooked to every single page…

➳Knowing him from past encounters and past history, Bryn finds a way to conceal a professional working environment with Aaric Christos and make him invest in her dreams even after everything they went through in their past. That put aside, they both learnt to encounter each other and gain knowledge on what each other prefers in their newly found lives. Christos is now a man who has learned how to build an empire with strong identities that have proven to be helpful throughout his life. Not only so, but also being a strong and independent individual that no one sought out. That is what is so similar to Bryn’s life. She has learned how to pick herself back up after the tragic event that she had to endure. With the help from Christos, she learns that it is hard to keep a working relationship and the lust they have for each other, under control. To Bryn’s eyes, Christos has become someone that she barely knows, but is enchanted and captivated by;
“This guy is the only guy in the world that unnerves me in this way, and I can’t seem to slow the fast pounding of my heart in my chest as I try to remember what I came here to say…”

➳Though his past has brought him to his present and has made him into the tycoon that many speak of, it has also brought him to places that he does not want to encounter, emotional places that due to Bryn’s presence he learns how to control them and be able to love her more and more every single day. Something about Christos is what the reader can somewhat relate to. Not fully, but in a common aspect that Katy has been able to write, one can relate to the struggles that life brings you down with. It could be either economic issues, family issues, relationship issues, or emotional issues that can make your living days a struggle.

➳Though Bryn’s friend Sara is slightly mentioned throughout this story, you can already tell that their will most likely be a story regarding her and her one night stand guy whom she has saved herself for after their encounter. I am excited for that love story, and Katy has somewhat hinted that that story may sprout any time soon… Overall, I enjoyed this love story that brings the ups and downs towards what life keeps giving us. But to know that failures are present, is good, since without failures we would not be able to send back up and learn from said mistakes or life encounters such as Christos and Bryn do.

it's LIVE!!!!

➦Well, starting this book right before bed certainly wasn't the greatest of ideas. While I knew my body needed rest, my mind kept having a little temper tantrum demanding I finish this thing.

➦So, when my dog woke me up at 3 AM to be let out....... I decided that I might as well finish this book since I was already awake. By the way, I'm one of those people who has no problem falling back asleep if woken up. So yeah. The result next morning:

➦And after hearing "Let's go to the amusement park today!" from the kids:

➦Ok... "Yeah, sure, just le mommy freshen up a bit..."

➦So thanks for that, Katy Evans! :D No, but seriously, thank you. I don't often have an urge to sacrifice my sleep for fiction, but I sure did for this piece of deliciousness.

➦I could bore you with what this book is about but I won't. You can read the blurb or you can go in blind. All you need to know is that it's a second chance romance which is guaranteed to give you all the feels. It's romantic, angsty and hot. Boy is it hot. So check this one out!

I decided to read Tycoon by Katy Evans, because (a) I really liked the only book I've read before by this author, Mr President, (see my review here.... https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3... ) (b) I love Greek heroes!!!! and (c) yes, I liked the cover!!!

This was like an okay read for me. There were just too many things that didn't work for me.

The plot has been done so many times before.....friends to lovers, second chance at love, cold and unfeeling billionaire hero who melts when he falls in love....and so on....I don't have a problem with this kind of plot, but somehow there was something that didn't get me engaged with the story.

The hero -Aaric Christos (hell, his name totally "disturbed" me.....I know millions of Greeks but have never met an Aaric...okay, maybe his parents just loved that name...however, what the hell is the man called...Aaric or Christos...........the heroine and the other characters call him Aaric and in the next paragraph....it's Christos!!!). Not letting that little name peeve get to me, I actually liked the guy. He wasn't this uber alpha a@#$%%^e.....he had a heart. I also liked honesty and the way he dealt with the people in his life.

The heroine - Bryn aka Bit Kelly.....former rich girl who lost her parents and her money now needs the help of her former school friend...who had been poor and beneath her social standards then and is now rich and has the money she needs to start up her company. There were some parts I liked with Bryn...like when she walks the dogs to make money...hell, things are bad in NYC....for a girl without money. The part when she promises to take the homeless woman for dinner if she gets the finance for her company...........But on the whole???? I'm not sure I liked her........the interaction with her best friend and roommate was so juvenile and immature...in fact both of them were beyond immature!!!
I wasn't too bothered by her chasing Aaric aka Christos, even though he had a girlfriend........hell, girlfriends...all is fair in love and war!!!!

The plot -The first 50% of the story was a bit slow...dragged on and on.....

The characters -Couldn't really connect with any of them....okay, maybe Aaric aka Christos (you see what I mean about his name!!!!)There was something about him that pulled me in!!!

So, in conclusion..........cute, sweet.........just missed the 3 star rating....because of the totally "weird" ending....or cliff-hanger...whatever you call it!!! Really!!!

I suppose I will have to wait for the follow-up to check out what happens with THE CLIFFHANGER!!!!

”I wanted you before. That doesn’t hold a candle to the way I want you now.” He takes my shoulders, looking at me. ”I’ll try to be patient. I didn’t have time before, but I do now,” he continues. ”But you’re something I’ve wanted for a very long time, Bryn, and I’m only human.”

Katy Evans is one of those authors that evoke feelings of anxiety whenever I hear she has a new book coming out. I mean this as a very HUGEcompliment! The waiting is what kills me and the fear that maybe I won’t get approved for an advanced reader copy!! The struggle is real my friends!! She has this gift for creating some of the sexiest alpha male Heroes who instantly steal my heart. I know that when I read one of Katy’s stories that I am going to be swept off my feet by an exhilarating romance! TYCOON is a story about two High School friends who get a second chance at true love. We will be traveling from past to present quite often throughout the book to help us feel the deep connection between the Hero and Heroine that even twelve years of separation couldn’t destroy. Ladies be prepared to fall head over heels for Aaric Christos!!

Aaric and Bryn were the best of friends during High School but always beneath the surface was a deep attraction between the two. They never acted upon their desires for very different reasons. Bryn knew that there was something truly special about Aaric and her greatest fear was that she would lose him if they moved passed friendship because she wasn’t certain that a romantic relationship would last between them. Aaric was enamored with Bryn from the moment he laid eyes on her, but he always felt that he wasn’t good enough for her at that time. He was just a mechanic and he thought she deserved so much more than he could ever give her. It was what motivated him to work hard to become one of the most successful businessmen in New York City years later. Towards the end of High School, Aaric moves away with his family and it will be nearly twelve years till the two cross paths again.

 photo blog tour teaser_zpsdjnnwvm7.png

Bryn has suffered great loss in recent years. Her parents tragically died in a building fire and the department store that the family once owned has been sold. Bryn moves to New York City in hopes to start a new chapter in her life but she’s nearly broke and doing odd jobs to get by. She does have a passion for clothing design and has a plan to start her own business, but she needs financial backing. As luck would have it, Aaric has expressed interest in her potential business venture. When the two meet after having lost touch for so long, the chemistry is undeniable. You can feel the sizzle coming off of the pages. Aaric has a sexy and commanding presence and Bryn can’t help but feel light-headed and weak in the knees whenever she’s in a room with him. Their initial encounters are flirtatious and there’s no denying the heat these two generate when they’re together.

Aaric doesn’t jump into a business venture with Bryn too quickly. He makes her work for it. He knows she has potential to do great things and he wants her to think of the big picture and come up with a plan to make her clothing line stand out from all the rest. As they start to develop their business relationship, there seems to be no way of denying the passion that is building between them as well.

 photo 8 this man_zps2qouunpa.jpg

Bryn is once again afraid that if they become romantically involved that she will inevitably lose Aaric and their business deal will also be ruined. She’s already lost two very important people and she knows she will not survive it if she were to lose Aaric as well. But he let her get away once and he has no intentions of doing that again. His feelings for her have intensified and he is determined to get what he wants.

Will they be able to get it right this second time around or will past mistakes repeat themselves?

“Aaric Christos. My what if.”

description

This is only the second book I have read by this author. I had read Real back in the day and I have to admit Katy Evan’s writing has greatly improved since that book. She completely nailed the flammable chemistry while her witty dialogue is spot on! She even had a ton of swoon worthy quotes said by the hero that had me all gaga over him.

“Can you see how gorgeous you are to me in the way I look at you, huh? I can’t get enough of his looks actually, but I can’t talk. “Can you see how much I want you bit?”

description

Seriously though, this former friend from our heroine’s past is willing to hear Bryn’s startup company idea and back her dreams. She’s the only girl/woman he’s ever wanted and he plays things very cool with skittish Bryn. I loved the progression of Bryn’s company and the rekindling/finally acting on all those feelings of what could have been between her and Aaric.

”He’s the biggest what if I’ve ever had in my life. The one you always wonder about.”

description

I was in love with this story and then well the author threw in a situation you know the reason in the story where you think your couple can’t be together? This wasn’t creative and I felt took away I think I would have preferred something like Miranda’s dad a big bad crime boss or even Aaric losing all his money. This is a good read that could have been a five star for me. The story does hold the promise of another book based on the heroine’s friend Sara. I'm left wondering what other Katy Evan's books to try next!

descriptionThe cover of this one is smokin' hot! Good representation of the hero. Great compostion and title work.description

descriptionI must be in an excellent mood because I enjoyed this one despite it being a bit of a hot mess (IMO.) We are also left with a HUGE unresolved issue. A heroine that is willing to be a As well as it being rife with OW drama and it contains one of the biggest clichés in Romancelandia.

REVIEW ALSO ON MY BLOG
TYCOON - KITTY KATS CRAZY ABOUT BOOKS

TYCOON: is a standalone ‘Romance’ novel by Katy Evans. Spoken in ‘Dual Perspectives’ This could even come under the ‘Second Chance’ genre. Also spoken in 'Dual Perspectives' and flits from past to present swiftly.

Bryn is fast approaching her thirty-first birthday upon her deceased parents department stores going bankrupt she’s been trying without much success to get one hundred thousand dollars funding for her start up venture.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Her last resort is Christos the only man with balls big enough to take risks that other banks or companies won’t touch.

I've heard of how much he has changed, how merciless and cold and threatening he has become-no longer the easy going guy he used to be.

She knew Aaric Christos the boy, back in high-school twelve years ago when he was a mechanic now he’s the most intimidating, ruthless businessman in Manhattan. Even his looks have changed gone is the nondescript boy with the big nose which was the first thing your eyes were drawn to, then his beautiful eyes and sinful lips took second place.

Now he is drop dead gorgeous, all man, the boy she once knew is gone.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

He called me lips. And ‘Little bit.’ And he wanted me. I wasn’t interested. He left the city with his brother a few years after we met. And that was that.

One minute he was in her life the next he said goodbye, he left town when his mother was on her deathbed, but not once did he never think about the girl he left behind, wishing that he could make something of himself and be a better man than the boy she knew.

I’m a sucker for books like this, my guilty pleasure, childhood friends, from friends to lovers. The bad boy turned good. Books like this always hit me in the feels. As soon as I started this I struggled to put it down, the way I was moving through those chapters I expected to see smoke coming out of my ipad combusting with the rate I was reading this.

He was a little bit too bad, and I was a little bit too good.
He was a demon in the making, and I was still daddy's little angel.

MY THOUGHTS: I really enjoyed this one and all Katy Evans fans after me will also, the reason why I'm rating this 4 stars and not 5 is that there I was in my happy space loving every single minute spent reading this to reach the end, it just felt unfinished, rushed, so many things left up in the air, unresolved, I needed more, wanted more, questions left unanswered, like a cliffy but this is a standalone, that feeling of frustration of being left hanging but knowing that your questions will never get answered..

Since when is it ok to go after a taken man?
Since when is it ok to encourage your friend to go after a taken man?
Since when is it ok not to feel very bad about lusting after a taken man only because his gf is apparently a b*tch not a nice person?

There was no actual cheating, since he broke up with his ex before he kissed the h, but she didn’t know it. So she kissed him, slept in his bed (no sex) and did it thinking he had a gf?

Despite all odds I didn’t dislike the MCs. He was obviously obsessed and in love with her.
I spare you my comments about her, I do it in my every 2nd review – hormones alarm.

I would have rated it with 3.5 stars, but… the ending…

Was it a joke?

Who was the father of his ex’s baby? He or his brother?

Hello!!! Who was the father???

“It’s never been a game with you.”

One of the things that I can always count on in Katy Evans stories are her strong and dominant alphas. It doesn’t matter what the situation is or the time frame, once you pick up any of her books, you know for sure you’re going to be getting one hell of a sexy alpha male that would do anything for you. This story was no exception and even though this wasn’t my favorite, you still can’t take away the fact that this author writes some pretty kickass heroes.

Bryn is now at her wits end with finding the proper funding for her new business. Having gone through her fair share of tragedies to last her a lifetime, all Bryn wants to do is make her clothing company a successful business. But that dream is going to need ALOT of money and there’s only man who can give it to her. When that person turns out to be someone from her past, how will Bryn manage?

“He’s the biggest what if I’ve ever had in my life. The one you always wonder about.”

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

This is one of those stories where going into too much detail, will be a spoiler on all levels. So instead of doing that, I’m just going to say what worked, and what didn’t work for me. I think I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again, I really liked Aaric. He was one of those characters that you just took an instant liking to even though he had a mysterious aura about him in the beginning. He truly seemed genuine and thoughtful in certain scenes and I liked that about him.

Sometimes in a book we will get flashbacks to give us a glimpse into the past and to see how some actions cemented another characters future and most of the time, we love it. I liked that this one gave us flashbacks because I wanted to see how Aaric and Bryn were twelve years ago and what specific moment shaped them into the adult they were today. But….. I was left feeling unsatisfied. I wanted MORE from those moments and sadly I didn’t get that.

I love a second chance romance so whenever I see a storyline that has it, I drop everything to start it because what person in their right mind wouldn’t? This story had all of the makings of a perfect second romance and believe me when I tell you, I was rooting for this couple so damn hard. Did they have a lot of outside drama and stupidity on their part? Hell yes and while I Crave drama in my reads, I wasn’t a fan of this one. I also feel like the ending just left me with a wide open door and for someone like me that needs to dot all of her I’s and cross her t’s, I feel extremely nervous with the way certain things were left up in the air like that.

If you love a second chance romance, you might want to give this one a try.

Listen to me. I am quite literally, so sick of reading books where a heroine goes after a taken Hero and the story somehow try to justify it by making the Hero's partner as bitchy as possible.

I want both parties to at least have the dignity not to pursue an affair when either one is taken you know? I don't care how bitchy the woman is, unless she's an abuser or a cheater--then I guess it's justified.

And I'm just as tired of seeing some of the heroine's friends encouraging it as well. Girly, if you have friends like that, you need to get better ones.

This book isn't for me. I liked the writing style though.

5+ 'My little bit' Stars!
ARC provided by the author via Social Butterfly PR in exchange for an honest review.

YES, YES, YES!!!!!! Let's just take a moment to fall at Katy Evans' feet because she wrote another outstanding love story! Fantastic plot, great characters and the perfect couple! I literally devoured this in one sitting because it's just THAT good. This woman blows my mind Every.Single.Time. You just cannot stop yourself from falling in love with the story and the characters.

Tycoon is Katy's newest standalone release and it's a love story between two people who had a beautiful connection in the past and now, because of circumstances, they reunite. Bryn needs money from Aaric and she wants to keep their relationship only-business but it's impossible for both not to feel the EXTREMELY high tension between them.

“He is the biggest what if I've ever had in my life. The one you always wonder about.”

I love Katy Evans. I love, love, love this woman. The stories she writes make me feel and make me connect with the characters to such a high level that I cannot stop reading! Having deep characters and out-of-this-world chemistry makes all the difference to me (it's definitely a must for me!). And, of course, Tycoon delivered fantastically on everything!

“You're not making things easy for me. I always know what I want. Unfuckingwavering. But then you came along.”
“And.”
“And you change everything.”

It's an obsession, an addiction, a complete infatuation.

Obviously, OBVIOUSLY the best thing about this book is the tycoon himself. Katy Evans' heroes are always on my top favorite book boyfriend list and Aaric Christos is no exception! He is mysteryous, sexy as hell and so swoony. I love how he fights for his little bit (that nickname kills me, I love it!!) and how they finally get their HEA. My heart was is so full with these two!

This is the girl I loved and could never love.
This is my chance to do it.

Therefore, (of course!), my rating for Tycoon is 5+ STARS because this novel was simply perfect for me. Perfect in every way possible! I devoured it and I can't wait to read more about all these new characters we met. So, if you are a Katy Evans' fan or you just want to get completely hooked in a magnificent love story, check Tycoon right now!

I promise I will keep this short:) I love Katy Evans and almost all of her books were a hit for me.. I laugh, I cry and I have this huge crush on her heroes, because they are sooo amazing and powerful that I can't help falling for them.

After a series of 5 stars books, I've encountered Ladie's Man and didn't connect with it at all.. Well damn.. But now, I believe Tycoon is being added to the list:( I was very excited to read it, because duuuuh, its Katy we are talking about, but it seems like not always your expectations are being reached and fulfilled.

Tycoon is a second chance love story between Bryn and Aaric. They had a huge crush on each other during high-school, but nothing happened between them, only friendship that expanded into something else during the way. Aaric was poor and Bryn rich, so their circles were kind of different and incompatible. He left town and for 14 years they hadn't seen each other until the day that Bryn requests a meeting with a wealthy business man Aaric Christos to finance her business idea. Yes, he is extremely rich now, a huge name in the business area and very respected by his rivals. Everybody wants a piece of him, including our girl Bryn here.

Bryn is very persistent and will do everything to get this chance from him. The moment they met, everything changes because things from the past spark again, making them remember what they ment to each other. They will try to keep their relationship strictly business, but will they succeed?

So, why I didn't like the books as much as I wished? First, the plot was not complex and impressive. It was kind of boring the first chapters and by 40% believe me that I couldn't summarize in more than 5 lines what happened. I received some action by the end of the book, but it smelled like soap opera and kind of predictable..

Secondly, the characters I believe were not fully developed and I just couldn't understand them enough.. Aaric was driven by his dream to succeed, to be respected and make a future for himself and for the love of his love ( semi-spoiler:D). Bryn was also driven by her dream of having a second change, to build something with her own hands and to achieve success as she wished. Their love story was sweet, kind of primal, had a lot of steamy moments, but I didn't interpret them deep enough to touch my sensitive chord. Until the end, it was like I was seeing more sex than loving, deeply feelings between 2 persons that found each other again. I only scratched the surface and I believe I could of read more about the character along the way, but the focus was on kind of boring details and not the important ones.

To conclude, a nice read, but nothing remotely special or different.. Sorry Katy:(

PS: That wasn't so short, wasn't it?:))

5 Stars!

-"There's always been a you and I. Except only you and I know it. Only you and I know all the touches that never happened. All the kisses we never took. All the damned dances I didn't dance with you."

 photo 9D53C0CF-175E-4C9A-813B-644CA58B85FA_zpslai1oerd.jpg

Bryn Kelly is a gorgeous single thirty year old woman who moved to New York about six weeks ago to follow her dream. She has a business plan, but can't get her project off the ground without help. She's looking for money for her startup & her friend scores her a meeting with the most powerful investor in the city. It's her last chance to convince someone to fund her idea.

Her meeting is with the hot shot, wealthy real estate tycoon, Aaric Christos. Bryn & Aaric went to high school together, & she hasn't seen him in twelve years since he left Austin. She wasn't sure if he'd even remember her after all this time. Years ago he had wanted her, but she was too afraid to get hurt. He was always a bit of a bad boy & a lot to handle. His fire always shined a little brighter than the rest. He was hardworking and hot-as-sin. She had her chance, but just wasn't ready for him. It was her fault they never got together & she regretted it.

 photo 2AD3BEA9-4750-48EF-9953-0A9FD11658EE_zpsvbqmwwyv.jpg

Bryn comes face to face with the boy from her past who was always a little rough around the edges. The boy she once knew is long gone. What she's looking at now is all man. He's a polished, filthy rich, extremely influential man living in luxury on Park Avenue. He's absolutely stunning & she'd give anything for him to want her again like he once did. She's so impressed by the man Aaric has become. He's known to sometimes invest in startups, so she hopes he will take a risk on her.

Aaric can't believe the girl he was crazy about all those years ago is standing in front of him. He's always had this instinct to protect her, & care for her. He wants to help her, but decides to make her work hard for it while he vets her. The more time they spend together, the more desperate he is for her. The sexual tension keeps building till their both about to explode if they don't touch one another.

-I want all of this man.

-It's an obsession, an addiction, a complete infatuation.

-There's an odd little tug from his body to mine, as if there's a force trying to lure me closer to him, a magnetism in him that's primal and animalistic.

-I want everything this guy can give me. Things no one in my life has ever given me. Forbidden things that scare me, thrill me, churn a crazy wild fire inside me.

-There are the kinds of things that you don't choose- they just happen, sometimes with people you don't want to react to as fiercely as you do. Christos has always been mine. My what if, and also my why him. Right now he's the center of my universe. His nearness all I know.

 photo A9B62864-E365-4E83-B765-90CC95E268F1_zpsvhzrqekw.jpg

Bryn fell for Aaric when she was 17 & has been fantasizing about him for years. He's a reminder of her childhood, and of everything she once loved & lost. Could she finally get a second chance to make things right & be with him, or will outside forces get in the way.

I loved Aaric Christos. He never forgot the one that got away. After all that time, he still held a place in his heart for his Bryn. This was a beautiful story about second chances & following your heart.

First I have to mention that cover!
HELL-OOOHO??? Ugh.
THE GUY IS MINE! Just so you know!

Ok...the story. ☺
I loved it!
Yes, you might think it's one of those typical rich CEO - poor girl things. But it's really beautiful. And fun. And frustrating. And exciting. And those sparks!!!!! Whenever those two see each other - even with his girlfriend in the same room. Phew!
I really enjoyed reading it.
Of course this story is not something completely new. We've read similar books a million times, but we also love those kinds of books. That's why we keep on reading them.
This story had everything I need in my romances:
SPARKS • ROMANCE • SEX • FUN • ADORABLE MOMENTS • GRRRR MOMENTS!
I loved reading it and I can't wait to hear the story about Bryn's roomie Sara and her mystery man!!!!

Were there some tiny things I didn't like about the story?
Hm, not really. Just that it wasn't anything new and that it wasn't as edge-of-your-seat-page-turnerish as I wanted it to be ...
And the writing was a bit weird here and there - and I have no idea what I mean by that. It just felt a bit weird/off to me from time to time.

BUT I still loooved it!

TYCOON was an amazing romance! A lovestory that was over a decade in the making ... and now here's finally Christos' chance to get the girl of his dreams ... and for Bryn to finally find out if her biggest WHAT IF will end up being her happily ever after!
I LOVED IT! Run to your nearest amazon for your own Aaric Christos! This one is MINE!!! And by this one I mean the character IN the book and the guy ON the book! ☺

It feels odd to see him, remember the girl I used to be—he reminds me of my childhood. He reminds me of my dreams, my parents, myself before my heart broke into pieces, one for each person I’ve loved and lost.
Maybe, even, including him.

A friends to lovers story. Christos and Bryn were friends when they were children.
Christos was never good enough for Bryn.

Now in his thirties Christos is successful, rich, good investor and with a girlfriend that he will most probably marry.
On the other hand Bryn still has not succeed in anything and she finds again Christos and asks him to invest in her new idea.

Positive things
1. Aaric Christos: Broad-shouldered, Tall, Utterly dark, Dirty-blond, Handsome, Extremely hot one, Filthy rich, Self-made.
2. Is Christos Aaric Greek? Although “Christos” is a common Greek name, “Aaric” is not Greek.
3. The book cover.
4. The sex scenes.
5. The fact that he broke up with the other woman before he starts anything with Bryn.

Negative things
1. Bryn Kelly: undecidable, unorganized, all over the place.
2. All this back and forward into different time periods.
3. The pace of the story. Sometimes fast, most of the times slow and without focus.
4. The characters did not have much depth. I could not connect. Especially the secondary characters are so insignificant and blurry.
5. The fact that he did not tell Bryn that he broke up with his girlfriend because he thought that this would excite her.
6. The fact that although there was another woman, Bryn was keep “playing” with Christos.

I am not sure how I feel about this book...
I did not dislike it, but also it did not really excite me. Besides maybe the last bit when the action accelerates a little, I was mostly bored when I was reading the book.

Favourite scene: The one with plenty of desperation and sadness

My heart breaks when he takes my face in his hands.
He wipes my tears with his thumb.
It’s something Aaric the boy would do.
A lover would do.
But he’s not a boy and he’s not my lover—he’s nothing of mine now.
I never got to say I love you. I wish I’d said it. I wish I could now say the words leaping in my mind. Don’t leave me, choose me, have a baby with me…

DNF at 30%

That cover would lead anyone to high expectations...

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to stop with this one. Between the time jumping, snippets of the storyline leaving me riddled with questions and a heroine that is stupid, naive and immature, Tycoon is driving me crazy. I'm not sure if the heroine was hoping for a handout or a business arrangement, to be honest? She was unprofessional, unorganised and seemed to walk in with a very laid back approach to something that, to her, seemed life or death. This chick also didn't help her cause (in my eyes) by lusting after a man who already has a girlfriend. Her lust seemed way more important than his fidelity.

Lots of readers loved it so don't judge on my review alone. Maybe it improves at the 31%? I guess, I will never know.

3.5 Work For Me Stars

I love Katy Evans books because you will always get an alpha male, a witty Heroine and some saucy dialogue. First off, I LOVE the name Aaric Christos, it’s kind of like Eric, but with a double A. Isn’t it yummy? Aaric is delicious and he’s the star of the book.

I love Aaric because he comes from a less than great past.

I love Aaric because he’s so strong, witty, and successful and has a presence.

I love Aaric because of the way he treats Bryn, always keeping her on her toes! Sigh.

Tycoon is a standalone and there will be another book with Bryn’s friend (which I cannot wait to read). Aaric is a billionaire. He works hard to be where he is at today. He’s a ruthless business man and he’s okay with that. Bryn is also the girl he kind of grew up with and kind of let slip through is fingers.

I love a second chance romance. Bryn is down in the dumps. She wants so desperately to find an investor to back her up in her business she knows Aaric is her last resort. She will do anything to get him to invest. Even it means following him around while getting the stink eye from his girlfriend.

There are a few flashback moments, but for the first time I really wanted more past moments. I wanted to see the relationship between Aaric and Byrn as they were during childhood. I also would have liked to see more of a romantic relationship as they were younger. It was definitely young love, but not the long lost young love if you know what I mean.

I have mix feelings towards Byrn. I felt like it was hard for her to reach out to Aaric after all of these years. What does she has to offer? I wanted to see a character that had more to offer I guess. She’s a strong woman, like I said she will do anything to get Aaric as an investor, but I guess I don’t fully agree with some of her choices.

Byrn pushing Aaric away did add tension to the book, but it also frustrated me. I felt like it may have gone a touch too long for my preference. I did enjoy the banter between the two and I could have read more and more of Aaric. Katy Evan’s never disappoints when it comes to her alpha males. I would say this book reads more like the Ladies Man, so if you were a fan of that, you will not be disappointed.

Bryn Kelly moved from Austin to New York a few months ago to chase her dream of opening her fashion design store. When a friend sets up a meeting for her with business tycoon Aaric Christos, she's got more at stake than her business start up. See, she knew him from years ago when he was a lowly mechanic in Austin with a serious crush on her. It's been eight years and part of her doesn't want him to remember her given that she turned him away.

Even though Evan's heroines always seem a bit more immature than they should be, I'm always drawn to her books because of the storytelling and her complex alpha personalities. It helps that we periodically get bits of Aaric's point of view because it's helpful for context and settling down my angst about his true feelings. It was just enough and any more would have over complicated the story.

I enjoyed this one despite Bryn coming across more like a twenty-something than a full grown woman of thirty. I even liked her but just wanted her to woman up more. I very much liked Aaric who doesn't really come across as cold-hearted as the story tries to project and his past was the most intriguing.

When I learned that Sebastian York was narrating Aaric, I was all in and he didn't disappoint. In fact, he projected more of a warmth to him that helped smooth out those edges when needed. Both narrators did a good job but Sebastian had the edge.

I've heard we haven't seen the last of these characters but I'm satisfied with how things ended as is. If there is another one coming, I'll be in line for it as I liked these two and the business that brought them together.

Tycoon definitely isn't Katy Evans' strong suit. No questions on the romantic parts because it's well written, hot and steamy. Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of the characters especially the heroine.

Bryn Kelly is a 31 year old entrepreneur. Living in New York is challenging and she needs fund to start business. While working on her project, she works as a dog walker. Her agenda is to seek Aaric Christos and have a business proposal with him. He's a powerful businessman and it's gonna take a lot for him to be impressed with her presentation. In the past, Bryn and Aaric were close until he left town and her parents died in a tragic accident. Through hardwork, Aaric have a luxurious life and continues to thrive in business. The romance between them resurfaced but it's complicated since he's dating someone else.

Like I said, I'm not a huge of the characters particularly Bryn. I admire her perseverance but she's unprofessional in my honest opinion. There's an overfamiliarity between her and Aaric, it's unexcused for her being late because she's stuck in an office bathroom and she doesn't want to interrupt a couple having sex, so she just wait for them to finish. I don't want to sound petty but punctuality is important. She's lucky it's Aaric because others would have a bad impression on her. Also, she doesn't put boundaries between work and personal issue. The lines blurred off too early and she knows he's dating someone else. 😒 I blame Aaric on that one as well, he should've end his relationship with Miranda earlier. He's in love with Bryn for years and still is. He's an okay alpha-guy, he's not my favorite guy though. There's a reason why I'm turned off with him.

The plot has a great potential but it lacks build up. Bryn and Aaric's story have a weak foundation and I wish there's more to it. Everything happened so fast and it's quite generic. The intimacy between them lacked passion. I don't know if it's just me but I didn't feel the spark despite they shared kisses and nights together. I'm disappointed with the ending. It's bland and way too convenient. So sad this one flopped. 😔

When you're a Katy Evans fan, you will definitely understand me when I say, I have been anticipating Tycoon the moment it was posted on social media sites. I was soooo giddy I could not contain my excitement that the moment it hit my reader, I have nothing else in mind except, FINALLY with all heart eyes and grabby hands. I devoured it and I hardly put it down. Lordy! Tropes like this is my weakness. Childhood friends with a past history...friends to lovers... Gahd! It just screamed "second chances of love" and I tell you, IT.IS.MY.KRYPTONITE! The feels this book often associates with always got me. Just imagine all the hot scenes and the grovelling, the winning each other part? I am a sucker for that so I ravished Aaric and Bryn's journey from start to finish and my verdict? I love it!

Yes I do! Katy Evan's character's Aaric and Bryn is easy to connect with. Man, when she portrayed Aaric as "The Legend. The guy with the Midas touch, and the golden eyes to match." , I was like, This is another book boyfriend in the making. Talk about swoony eyes and ovary explosion and this is it. I rooted for him until the end and I was so glad I did. He is alpha like no other. His commanding nature got me. I swooned and melted with his words like some freaking woman obsessed with the man of his dreams. And then there's Bryn, her sassy and strong nature caught my heart. Her determination to chase her dreams molded through her past experiences made me love her even more. She just felt so real that every description of her felt like you knew her all along. Together, sparks fly...they are explosive like fireworks in it's glory details. With their past history, I rooted for them even more. I was cheering for them to realize and pursue the love they have for each other buried deep within and just needed to be nurtured. Suffice to say, I just needed their HEA.
"There's always been a you and I. Except only you and I know it. Only you and I know all the touches that never happened. All the kisses we never took. All the damned dances I didn't dance with you."

Gah! Coming from Aaric, those words above just weighed too much that I felt like my hearts gonna combust with all the feels. I swooned and I almost fainted because man... this is Aaric we are talking about! And as the story progresses, I enjoyed my journey with them even more. If you think the cover enough is beautiful and intense, read this book and be enchanted with Katy's words and lines as she will give you a beautiful ride of love of second chances. It's angst-ish, enough to keep you on the edge. Blended with a tease, seduction and swoony parts, be ready to be romanced. However though, it hurts for me to say this, but I'll be honest. I was kind of looking and wanting for more because at some point, I feel like the story was rushed nearing the end. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed every moment I had with this book. The feels and the emotions seeping through the pages were just balanced and on point. I was touched, I even cried and I fell in love together with them because it's so hard not to. Plus who wouldn't enjoy this author's penchant of teasing you with her hot scenes until you'll gonna get hot and bothered, then explode with them. But there was lacking. No matter what it is, I was still into the positive note and just left it be.

In the end, I still love it. I love Bryn and Aaric and I love the plot. I may have questions and was looking for more but I could not deny the fact that I was a given a beautiful ride of chasing one's dream and then finally falling in love. It left me heart warming feels and I guess it's more than enough. Again, you can never go wrong with Katy Evan's works. It's a must read!

DNF @41% But my guess is I would give this one 1 star only based on what I've read.

Nothing positive to say about this book except for the fact that the man on the cover made me do it.
Every once in a while I like a good old billionaire romance, clueless girl maybe, you know the real cliché of billionaires tropes! I would swoon over how despite his cold appearance and arrogant demeanor the hero has eyes only for *this girl*...
Well it seems like I had eyes only for that *damn* cover model and was already fantasizing about our pretend love affair...
Yeah you, hot cover model, I fully blame you for making me pick this book last night! Love affair was all but forgotten within a few pages in the book because the writing style was so choppy I couldn't get into it.

The dialogues were inconsistent and irrelevant most of the time and the abrupt changes between scenes and new chapters made it really hard for me to feign any interest in Bryn renewed lust over a man she lost contact with years ago. *hint* He has money now.*hint*

The characters were totally lifeless and devoid of personality, and no, make an attractive man growl, brood or give hot looks isn't enough for me to find him *interesting*.
Though maybe I was supposed to fall head over heels at this :
Your smell does shit to me,

Aaric Christos lip curls, intent stares, winking game and cock imprint were a total loss on me, you can have him, ladies.

Katy Evans once again brings her A Game in this sexy, new standalone romance that's loaded with angsty tension, steamy goodness, and delicious feels. I swear, I'm a huge fan of this author because she never fails at blowing me away. I've read and loved all of her books and Tycoon was no different. Aaric is another strong Evans Hero that's so easy to love, he stole my heart! And I have to say, I absolutely adore a good second chance romance. They're so sweet. I love that there's already a healthy history between the characters that creates this immediate intimacy you just don't have in a romance where the couple meets for the first time. Tycoon has that, it has this sweet friendship/intimacy right from the get go that I just loved.

Bryn Kelly is a young entrepreneur from Austin, now living in New York, who's trying to secure funding for her new business venture. Aaric Christos a shark, a real estate tycoon who's earned a fierce and ruthless reputation in NYC. Aaric is smart and sexy, a self-made millionaire who knows exactly what what risks to take and what risks to let go. Bryn comes to Aaric after a friend helps her secure a meeting with him to ask for funding. And from there a back and forth begins that leads to a friendship being reborn, and a sweet romance igniting. Bryn and Aaric have a history. They were friends when they were younger but haven't seen each other in over a decade. They both had feelings for each other when they were young, but it never worked out. Now with Bryn in NY, right in Aaric's clutches, things are about to get deliciously intense in the most epic way.

Katy Evan's really knows how to build sexual tension into her books. Tycoon is a slow build that had me wanting more and more with each and every page. I truly loved the way we got to watch this romance blossom while getting little peeks into both the characters when they were younger. It had all the things I love in a good romance read. A growing friendship, fun back and forth banter, adorably charming flirting, the yearning for each other and of course, angst. Overall, I'd say this is another hit for Katy Evan's fans. I think you'll fall in love just like I did. It's impossible not to. Bryn and Aaric are adorable and so sexy! And I was completely charmed by their romance.

2,5 My bit Stars

First of all let's admire the hot man in the cover for a second! WoW....HAWT!!!

Second of all I like Katy Evans' book so I was all about the famous, asshole and hot Tycoon of Manhattan!

But this book wasn't what I expected... And I was hoping for so much more with that blurb and that HOT as HELL cover!

There were a lot of things that didn't work out for me in this book and I'm not going into details because too many spoilers in the process so "No, I can't do that to you guys!"

But I'll name a few, just for my lovely friend out there.

•I couldn't connect with the main characters!

•I didn't feel the chemistry between the couple at least as much as I wanted to! Toward the end I kind of felt something but mehhhh...

•I'm not sure I like Christos and Bryn!

•And my main reason Christos WTH man??? Wear a DAMN condom once in a while, it doesn't hurt you know!!! I mean come on, STDs don't you worry?

•And finally in my opinion the book needed more development. I couldn't keep up with their conversations and how quickly the scenes changed, after a while I didn't even bother!

Well those above are some of my dislikes about this book, but mostly was the anticipation of a great book and what I got as a result! I hope Sara and Nate's book will be better developed and amazing! Fingers crossed!!! ;))

2 stars!

Let me start by saying that katy Evans is another one of my top authors after all she's the creator of one of my most beloved heroes my sexy Remy! And I've loved all the books I've read by her unfortunately, this was a just ok.

I tried hard to get into it, but I just wasn't feeling it. The story for ME just didn't have the emotional depth that miss evans usually brings. The flashback chapters were too short, and I didn't get the MC connection in the past or the present. So I'm just gonna say as painful as it is it just wasn't for ME, but I don't discourage anyone from reading it especially since it has such high rating and positive reviews. Regardless of the miss with this book I look forward to reading more by miss Evans. 💙

LOVED!
A story about the one that got away. 12 years later, Aaric is a big time tycoon in Manhattan. Bryn needs his investment on a business dream she has and one look at Aaric, she knows she is in trouble. Aaric was and still is her 'what-if' guy and I love how this author took a plot so simple and made it so darn sweet. So real, so emotional.. i loved Bryn and Aaric together. They went slow and did not play with each other's emotions. I understood their hesitance, there were lots at stake. No unneccesary drama and although that bit towards the end was super predictable I loved how they handled it and chose their love for each other. The angst.. my favourite element in a book when done right.. so painful my heart hurt! AMAZING CHEMISTRY between this couple, i had to take a breather myself a few times!
