I fell in love with Austin before I even knew what the word meant.

Miranda was the only girl who ever had a chance at owning my heart.

Defined by the land we grew up on—ranches, pastures, lakes—Mason Belle, Texas, wrote our story. And then it tore out the pages.

Six years later, Miranda had managed to slip away again. But this time, I refused to let her run.

5/5+ STARS!!
Nostalgia started with a smile and ended in heartache.
WOW! WOW! WOW! Where has Stephie Walls been all my reading life?! I'm so impressed.

I hope I can do her work justice with this review.

GENRE: second chance contemporary romance
"Sweetheart, there is nothing in the world that will ever hurt you as long as I'm alive."
Austin and Miranda have ALWAYS loved each other; they were rarely seen apart growing up and became high-school sweethearts. Their devotion to each other was so obvious that not one person in their small rural hometown would have doubted they'd marry, have children and grow old together.
Austin carried the key to the vault that housed all my secrets.
But the summer after high school sees tragedy strike Miranda's family. From one day to the next, Miranda disappears, leaving her family when they seemingly need her the most. No one is more devastated than Austin who's left behind without a word of explanation. Slowly, as the years pass, he turns against the memory of Miranda along with the rest of the town.

Six years pass before they set eyes on each other again . . .

Good grief, just writing a quick synopsis of this book has me crying. And not just a little sniffling, but big, fat rolling tears. Not because the book itself was a sobfest, but because Miranda and Austin's journey was just so heartfelt.

That was probably the best part . . . the way the author's writing rolled so much emotion into every scene. Rage, joy, grief, relief, indignation . . . I felt them all right along with the characters. And of course, laced throughout the narrative was the heartbreak, sharp and poignant.
It was clear she no longer belonged in Texas, and I would never belong anywhere else.
That Austin and Miranda should be with each other was clear, but what wasn't was why Miranda left. I loved how the author doled out bits and pieces of information and used the alternating points of view to shield the reader from spoiling the impact of revelations as they came. The story was structured so masterfully and it kept me glued to the pages.

If you decide to pick this one up, don't expect any sensationalism or cheap gimmicks. As I was reading, I was struck by how the characters' reactions and motivations came across as genuine, probably because there was this amazing sense of time and place in the story. The backdrop of Mason Belle, Texas, population: 1809 with its expansive cattle ranches, oppressive heat, and tradition of community only served to validate the events.
He'd move heaven and earth to please me, unless it meant crossing my father.
I truly loved everything about this story; Miranda was strong, Austin was swoon-worthy, the writing was solid, and there wasn't a dull moment. I devoured it.

If I had to complain about something it would be that, for me, all that suffering needed a bit more 'reckoning' in the end. But, again, I respect that the author stayed true to the time and place in which the story took place.

Definitely one of my favorites of the year! READ THIS BOOK! <3

"Sometimes we have to endure the worst pain of our lives to find the greatest happiness."

Do you remember that time when I read my first Stephie Walls book and told you that as cliche as it sounds, it wouldn't be my last? Well, guess what? It was true because I just finished re-reading my second book by her, and I freaking adored it. I’m a Stephie Walls fan for life now.

One bad decision, one mistake, and everything changed for Austin and Miranda. From the very beginning, the emotions ran high and held me there the farther I got into the story. And then, when everything was said and done, I was a total mess—a mess of tears that didn't ask for permission but trailed down my cheeks anyway. But all the ache was so worth it that I found myself longing for a love like theirs.

To hate Miranda was not an easy task. Stephie Walls made difficult for me not to hate her with all the broken hearts she left behind. But as much as I wanted to keep Austin for myself, I knew he belonged to Miranda because a love like theirs is the kind of love that's hard to find.

Gravel Road had it all—beautiful prose, unforgettable characters, and emotions that remind me why I read, to feel.

If you want flawless writing, if you want a book that will make you believe in love, forgiveness, second chances and happy endings, read this book. I stayed up past my bedtime just to see them get their happily ever after.

Definitely one of my favorite reads of 2018! Hope the author decides to write Sarah & Charlie’s story because I need MORE!

4.75 second chance stars!

This was a beautiful, heart-breaking second-chance romance book about two broken people trying to overcome their past hurts; these weren't easy hurdles to jump either, but rather quite painful.

Six years hadn't eliminated the pain, and neither had two thousand miles.

I've said it before, I'm not a big fan of flashbacks but I actually enjoyed the few of them that were peppered throughout this story. They really helped paint the full picture of how much Austin & Randi meant to each other from a young age, everything major that happened to keep them apart and all they had to overcome to be together again.

I loved Austin!! He held onto his love of Randi for six years, never giving up hope while still holding on to so much anger towards her too.

Randi/Miranda took a little longer to grow on me but I came around eventually. I felt the very heartache that she did. I became amazed by her strength and resilience.

My heart physically ached reading most of this book and I loved it.

Sometimes we have to endure the worst pain of our lives to find the greatest happiness.

All of the intimate scenes were "fade to black", so if you're looking for down and dirty love scenes you'll have to look elsewhere.

I highly recommend this book if you love cowboys, small towns, high school sweethearts, angst and heartbreak.

I took of a 1/4 star for the overuse of the word "regardless". Yes, I know it sounds petty, but it was used 24 times and the more times I read it the more frustrated I became. I had to hold back eye-rolls for every time it reappeared.

I absolutely loved this book! Thank you for the recommendation Melanie!

Contentious. That’s how I would describe the first pages of Gravel Road. It tightens your chest and prepares you for battle. It’s not exactly how you would think a romance should start, but it’s exactly the set-up you need to begin this story of childhood sweethearts and second chances. A devastating moment has changed the course of lives in an unexpected way. Through dual perspectives and floating through past and present, Austin Burin and Miranda Adams have a soul deep connection. Bit by bit, layer by layer, the emotional pain and loss they both suffered and the unresolved issues that have plagued them not only tear them apart, it tore me apart too. Their hurt was my hurt. But the coming together, the love that is still there, outshines all the bad and had me turning the pages as quickly as I could. Woven into their journey is also the importance, support and love of family and friends and with that comes acceptance and forgiveness. I love getting wrapped up in a story, turning the pages, following the characters and their journey. I love reading a simply beautiful love story that comes across easily through the pages. It’s exactly what I got with Gravel Road.

As far as I understood from the reviews, there is a frustrating separation of 6 years, all because the heroine causes an accident unintentionally.

Gravel Road has it all…small town feel, second chances, redemption, sexy man on a horse named Nugget, and family secrets. One of my favorite things about Stephie’s books is how lost in the story I get. I could literally feel Randi’s pain through the pages, and Austin’s love for her was as real to me as the air I breathe. I laughed throughout the entire book, but I also gasped, clutched my chest, teared up, cheered for the characters, and swooned over and over again. One of my favorite reads of 2018.

Actually terrible. Not only did the H treat the h like an actual piece of shit until 80%, he also allowed other people to treat her like shit. Nobody had to grovel to the heroine when they 100% should have. Everyone was just awful to her. Then everyone just FORGIVES HER DAD?!?! HE WAS A PIECE OF SHIT!!!! He didn’t have to grovel to anyone and everything was just supposed to be fine with him. He hit her, tore her down, said truly awful things to her, drove her (literally) out of town, and then just let everyone think she left for no reason?! He was a true villain, yet he was revered by everyone in this book. “Daddy” can go fuck himself. And the H can too for that matter. He laid all the blame on her feet for leaving when he could’ve easily tried to find her and chase her. He knew she blamed herself for her sister’s accident, and yet it didn’t cross his mind to go after her???? And then in the epilogue IS IN THE DAD’S POV!!! WHAT THE FUCK???? Why was the epilogue in that piece of trash’s pov????

Also, how dare her sister try and ground her when she was 18! I would literally LAUGH in my sister’s face if she tried to tell me I was grounded. It was 1000% her sisters own fault that she got in that accident. So now that I think about it, I hated the sister too.

This book really riled me up, it was just awful. The ONLY redeeming quality it had was that they weren’t with anyone else during the separation but even that didn’t matter to me in this book because of how bad he treated her. This book was nothing like Her Perfect by this author which had an amazing h and H.

Growing up Miranda aka Randi and Austin were inseparable, everyone thought that if one pair would make it through the thick and the thin and end up married - it would be those two. Life, however, can throw curveballs that we never expect as after a tragedy - Miranda ended up running to the city where she has lived ever since. Six years later, fire and tragic circumstances rip through the small town of Mason Belle, Texas and Miranda finds herself reluctantly heading back home. It's back home, that she gets quite a frosty welcome as nobody bothered to ask the reason she left and the rest of the town especially Austin- saw her as abandoning those she supposedly loved. Austin hasn't stopped loving Randi , but she stomped on his heart hard and he can't quite forgive her just yet. Miranda is not the same fiery girl she was six years ago and seems to have lost her way. Can being home help Miranda find her spark again and reconnect her with her loved ones and possibly a second chance at romance before it's too late ? I have to admit though that Miranda's nephew stole the show in this book.

ARC kindly provided for honest review. When I read a Stephie Walls book, I know for sure that I am going some place I have never been before. Gravel Road was very good, I enjoyed this story of high school sweethearts and their second chance at romance...what I didn't expect was the storyline that tore them apart in the first place. In the beginning, I will admit I was angry with Miranda (Randi) for up and leaving her small Texas town, but patience grasshopper, you will get the full story and you will understand....and that I did. The story is told in dual POV with some past and present - but that doesn't bother me one bit, I was able to feel the real connection between Austin and Randi. It's also a story of forgiveness which happened to put a lump in my throat and draw a tear from my eye. I encourage fans of second chance romance to take a chance on Gravel Road.

Sometimes you come across a book that seems to take you forever to read. Sometimes it is because the book is bad and you just push through to get through it. However, there are books like this one that take you on an emotional roller coaster ride that it will just take you time to process what you are experiencing. Austin and Miranda's story is one of those journeys, an everlasting love story that began at the age of ten only to have tragic events tear them apart for six years. Miscommunications, lies, betrayal, and guilt can make people do crazy things. I cried, laughed, swooned, and felt throughout this entire story. I knew even in those moments of frustration in not knowing that Stephie Walls would not disappoint me in giving me just what I needed.

This specific video review will be included in the October 2018 wrap-up.

I love a good solid second chance romance book. And I anticipated one here with all the great reviews and a blurb that grabbed me quickly. But somehow this one -- even with all its potential -- fell below the expectations I had set for it.

Too much just didn't click with me. A six-year absence because a young girl made a bad decision that resulted in a tragic accident that really should not have been blamed on her! Too much bad juju resulted, and I completely could not forgive her dear old dad. What a jerkwad!! I adored Austin from the start, although he lost some of his draw by being kind of a jerk himself -- but he regained my adoration and I did finall reckon with his reasoning. And Miranda, even though a bit of a brat, melted my heart. I honestly wanted to wrap my arms around her and offer all the hugs she'd missed. Favorite character: Eason! And I agree with the cowboys, EasTon would have been a bit better. But you can't blame Eason for the name attached to an otherwise really cool guy -- and a perfect best friend.

Okay, so I didn't hate it -- but it was far from a head-over-heels read for me. Nice ending -- although the entire book just didn't seem connected or completed to satisfaction.

Wow. I don't know what to say about this book other than it was freaking amazing and should be added to the top of your must read immediately list. Austin and Randi's story isn't easy or simple... one teenage mistake in a bid of rebellion and freedom cost Randi everything for six long years. Austin lost the only thing that mattered to him and he's been left with unanswered questions ever since the day she walked away. Tradgety has her racing back home. Life is never as simple or as black and white as it seems. This book has a way of drawing you in until you feel and hear the crunch of the gravel road under foot and can see those horses and cattle. You can smell the anticipation in the air and you hold your breath in suspense. I adored this book. Stephie Walls is a master at crafting a story that will consume you and have you more invested in fictional characters lives than that of your children...please stock up on pb&j and cereal so they don't starve while you get lost in Austin and Randi...lol One of my favorite books all year and obviously it comes highly recommended by me.

This second chance love story was just amazing. I loved the story line and all of the characters. This book gave me all the feels and had me hooked from the very beginning. It has to be the best book that I have read by Stephie Walls so far. I didn't want this book to ever end.

Wow this one was a good read. It's the first book I read by Stephie Walls. The prologue sucked me in. The prologue was a jaw dropping one that had me completely hooked. As a teenager Miranda was wild and full of spirit. Austin and her were it, everyone thought they would be together forever. Something happens and she leaves. Six year later she is back in town. Her path can't help but cross with Austin when she is back in town. The only people who know really why she left is her and her Dad but other people have made there opinions about her and aren't all that welcoming to her. Austin is a great guy. He comes off as a little mean to Miranda when she comes back but he still has a soft spot for her. There's a lot of surprises in this one. It's a heart string puller that has all the feelings.

Gravel Road is a second chance romance novel by Author Stephie Walls.

“Defiance wasn’t my middle name, but now, I considered having it tattooed on my right butt cheek in her honor.”

Wow! Wow! WOW! My heart and stars! I love books that give me all the feels. I love soulmates. I love sweet and sexy cowboys. I love saucy and strong females. So, guess what? I LOVED Gravel Road.

“Sometimes we have to endure the worst pain of our lives to find the greatest happiness.”

It’s no secret that I am a loyal reader of books by this author. But, this one definitely delivered all of the touchy feels that make her such a prized writer. Austin and Miranda were cute as kids, had great chemistry as teens. But their love as adults was written in the heavens. Southern boy grows up with southern girl. They are the perfect love story. Until tragedy strikes. Life gets all shaken up. And things change, for many years.

“...we exchanged the greatest gift either of us could ever give, and we lost a piece of ourselves neither of us could ever get back. I didn’t have one ounce of regret.”

This is one of the most touching second chance romance novels. Not just because second chances give my heart the flutters, and they do. But because this was not a pinpoint second chance, it was an all-encompassing gift at embracing the life that always should have been.

“The guy who’d never noticed me became my champion, Miranda. When I didn’t think I could push any harder, he had the strength I couldn’t find.”

Miranda’s New York friends and her Mason Belle family crashed together in a heap of misunderstandings, hurts, and regrets. But, their collective respect for Miranda and Mason caused a cataclysmic shift for healing and renewal. They definitely added the sprinkles in and on top of the cupcake to give it that extra level of sweet and special we all love.

“I’ve always known you were my knight in shining armor, but I never expected you to have to prove that you’re my fairy tale.”

But, the sprinkles must have a cupcake and icing on which to be placed. And that is where we get the real exceptional delight that is Miranda and Austin. There was nothing in this world that could stop their love. Even the most devastating moments and emotional pains couldn’t cause a thick enough barrier to keep them apart. They lashed out. They fumed and sparked at one another. But, all that mattered was their undying need for each other.

Gravel Road was a second chance novel heavy on the feels, light in the heart, and abounding with family and friends...and cowboys *wink, wink*. I highly recommend it.

"sometimes you have to endure the worst pain of our lives to find the greatest happiness"
This is so true in this fabulous story about young love walking through hell's fire to find peace in Nature's music. A story of a boy making a promise and doing his darndest to keep it
"As long as I'm breathing, nothing will ever hurt you again"
Ahhhh the naivétè of youth !!

description

First things first- the cover is Awesome!!!
The story is as mesmerising too. A boomerang journey of a girl ostracized who is like a leaf in the wind, blowing farther and farther away from her tree, till the wind shifts and she's blown back home to Mason Belle. The gravel crunch is such a perfect analogy for this story. It reminds Auston Burin EVERYTIME that he's just a mile away from Miranda "Randi" Adams. It's also the noise that shattering grains make when someone leaves their home forever. The dust that rises from gravel dries up the happiness from those left behind.
You are toxic, Miranda. you didn't just obliterate me, there was a long line of people you left in the wake of your departure I don't have a clue what Jack said to you that made you leave although I'd wager that every word was spot on !! ouch!!!!
The announcing crunch brings the prodigal daughter back home, but is she truely home in Cross Acres?

description

Read this fantastic book to find out !!
This is my third book by stephie. She captures the nuances of small town in middle of nowhere Texas with acute precision. How the gossip mills churn, how prejudice spreads like wildfire devouring everything in it's path, mercilessly reducing everything to black char and not forgiving for a long time. Southern charm and southern stubbornness are simultaneous emotions that rule simple ranchfolks. They think more with their hearts than with their heads and the brotherhood, kinship that brings the whole town together in times of hardships, also sometimes acts against the cityfolk who are trying to find their way back in.

description
description

There's also heartache.......pining, pinching pain of heart crushed under a running stilleto. The tears and the abandonment never gets closure. Questions hang in the air and after six years of stuck in limbo they rot and stink and spread bitterness and cynicism.
" you think i won? what world do you live in Miranda?
I lost the only thing that mattered you didn't even leave a damn note. I didn't get an email, not a phone call- hell you didn't even mail me a Dear John Letter. you just vanished. I didn't win a damn thing other than a life without you in it"

I seriously enjoyed reading the simple story penned so beautifully. The words were heavily laden with sentiments, they just tossed my heart. All the characters are superbly etched, forged by their circumstances and environment. Austin & Brandi were like good 'ol biscuits & gravy, topped with homemade jam!! I hope Eason and Garrett get their book, THAT story will be hot and interesting say the least!

GRAVEL ROAD is a Second Chance Romance, but not the usual kind. There are mountains to climb, and deep wounds that need to be healed. Apologies that might not be enough or just too late. Just saying “I still love you”! Won't be enough to mend hearts that have been shattered. Hateful words thrown in anger can never be taken back. You can't change your yesterdays, but there are plenty of fences to mend if you want happy tomorrows.

Randi Adams and Austin Burin were in love since they were young children. Everyone considered them the sweethearts of Mason Belle. He was the star quarterback and she the head cheerleader. All of Mason Belle thought of them as soulmates that were destined to get married and spend the rest of their lives in Mason Belle carrying on the tradition of their families. Both of their parents owned huge cattle ranches, both had homes that were nothing short of Gone With the Wind. Jack Adams ranch, Cross Acres, had a gravel road leading to it's huge ranch house. Cross Acres had a fancy iron gate and a ton of flowers and shrubbery at the entrance. Austin's favorite drive in his truck was on the gravel road that lead to his girlfriend's home. He would roll the window down to listen to the crunch of the rocks under his tires. Everything about the gritty noise reminded him of Randi.

Some decisions you make might have consequences that you never saw coming. Some decisions you can't undo no matter how hard you wish you could. Sometimes you can't go home, no matter how homesick you might become. Sometimes we have to endure the worst pain of our lives to find the greatest happiness. If you are a fan of second-chance romance this is one of the best.

It took one sitting to finish this and maybe now my emotions can settle down. For a moment there I thought I’d need medication to help deal with the amount of anxiety, anger, sadness, love, joy I experienced while reading Gravel Road. The author really captured the story of two souls who lost time that neither should have experienced while crushing you at the same time. The story of Austin and Miranda is soul crushing and I had many moments that I just had to walk away. While I usually swoon over the main male character I found myself focused on and cheering for Randi/Miranda. I was just drawn to her from the first page and my loyalty to her is just as strong once the last page was read. I felt there should be a warning label-stiff drink needed....proceed with caution!!! The pain bled through the pages that you felt the sharp cuts as you were reading. I definitely recommend this book to anyone listening....for me it’s one of Stephie’s best!

Austin and Miranda were high school sweethearts until an accident ripped them apart. Miranda escaped the small town and moved to New York, so she could rebuild her life. While Austin stayed behind in Mason Belle, Texas and pined over the love of his life.

The premise of the story is great, and the story had great potential, but the characters came across as flat and predictable. Miranda came across as a spoiled brat. Her sister Sarah was the true star of the book. Austin came across as a gigantic jerk. It was full of cliches and tropes. It took me out of the story.

I didn’t like that it took to long for the reveal of why everyone in Miranda’s family hated her. That subplot dragged on forever, when it should have been revealed at the start. I think I liked the secondary characters a lot more than the main characters. They had more substance and carried the story.

What on earth? I usually love a second chance romance but this wasn't one. Miranda was treated unforgivably by her Dad, then Austin & I wouldn't have given either of them an ounce of forgiveness, they didn't deserve it!

Austin was an arsehole of epic proportions he took her family home & her horse. I hated the sister Sarah & was gutted she got her HEA with Austin's brother & poor Miranda/Randi was treated terribly all round by literally the whole town.

I must have missed the romance part of the book, I just thought it was incredibly sad for Miranda to be treated like a pariah when she was that young & didn't listen to her sister when she tried to ground her & somehow was blamed for her sister's accident & her Mum leaving. Also her Dad wrecked her bedroom and verbally and physically attacked her before giving her money & telling her to get out.

Honestly this is a book I wish I could unread, 1 star.

If I start this review with the words I want to use "Stephie Walls never ceases to amaze me" I'll simply be repeating myself...lets start with "Stephie Walls continues to amaze me!" Gravel Road is simply dazzling, told in both past and present circumstances and in the voices of both our hero Austin and heroine Randi (Miranda). This is a story of love and hope, heartache and forgiveness, and second chances. It's one of the most heartfelt stories I've had the pleasure of reading this year (next to the other Stephie Walls books I've read this year).

Gravel Road is a story that will make you reflect on family; on expectations, on disappointments, and on devotion. Set in a tiny ranching town in Texas, we discover how in an instant a family is torn apart and witness how they might go about putting it back together. For the Adams family this will be nothing but a struggle. When Miranda is forced to return home, she faces seeing not only her estranged father and sister, but also the love of her life Austin. All while on the arm of boss and NYC lawyer Eason McNabb.

Every moment between Randi and Austin had me nervous as their interactions are heartbreaking and at times sweet and funny (they bicker and "try" to avoid each other so clearly they are still in love), but Walls cleverly keeps the reason why Randi left town in the first place a mystery. Early on we see the two sides if Miranda/Randi as they battle each other, but again we don't know why she left, not exactly. It's brilliant really because this kept me so tied to this book. That and seeing Miranda turn back into Randi and thus back in Austin's arms. This I wanted to with every molecule in my soul. Not that the city girl side was bad it just wasn't who she really was.

These conflicting sides made my heart break because when we are in this girls head we know how much she hurts. It's almost a constant but city life helps her bury it. And what of Austin the hunky heartthrob of a cowboy? Neither time nor distance has swayed his love for her. The man is the epitome of what devotion looks like making him simply swoony.

Gravel Road is another unique and angsty story filled to the brim with the glorious feels. I've come to expect that I will recommend anything I read by Stephie Walls books and Gravel Road is among my favorites and one I HIGHLY recommend.

SPOILER ALERT:
Austin Burin has been in love with Miranda since they were ten. He would do anything for her. She was the love of his life. Then she left him after her sister's car accident. She just left--left Sarah and Jack...and him. What Austin didn't know is how much Jack, Miranda's father blamed her for Sarah's accident. To the point that he gave Miranda an ultimatum. Jack knew that Miranda isn't cut out to be a rancher's wife. That's what Austin is--a rancher through and through. Austin would be miserable doing anything else and Miranda would be miserable staying here in Mason Belle, Texas. Jack did what he thought was best for everyone. Too bad that months later, he would regret that decision. Miranda refused to return even for her sister's wedding to Austin's older brother.

Not until the wildfires did Miranda return to Mason Belle. That came at a cost to everyone including Jack and Austin. Austin had to pull Jack from the pasture before the fire and smoke got to both of them. Austin has also been working for Jack since Miranda left. At first, it was just to do Miranda's chores on the farm in hopes that she would return after a brief time away. But she stayed away, Jack offered Austin a job to help him take care of the ranch. A ranch that Jack eventually gives to Austin since he has no children interested in the ranch. Sarah helps her husband with the Burin family ranch. Miranda is going back to New York. Jack hopes that by giving Austin the ranch, it will keep Miranda in Mason Belle. He knows how much she still loves Austin. First, Miranda and Austin need to let go of their anger to each other. Jack knows the key to getting his daughter back home is Austin.

Can Miranda forgive herself and her role in her sister's accident? Can Austin forgive Miranda for leaving him without a word? Will Miranda be willing to leave her life in New York to be a rancher's wife?

Life as she knows it comes to a halt as an officer of the law calls her name.

A new start, and a chance meeting give  Miranda Adams the ability to reinvent herself.

Devastation sweeps far and wide. His heart left in tatters. Austin Burin the gentle soul with the heart of a lion longs for the future he dreamt of.

A story of regret, heartache and yearning.

Can true love burn bright through treacherous conditions? I was rooting for these guys, as they were each other's one true love.

I loved the idea of this book. It's beautiful yet simple with a twist of action and suspence.

The sadness in their hearts brought me almost to my knees, but the moments of joy and happiness brought me back up. It was like riding on a stormy sea with the ebbs n flows.

Austin is "The Guy". The one we dream of at night. The white knight to rescue us from all and sundry, whilst Miranda is the wild child. The voice in your ear telling you to do something you shouldn't but you oh so want to.

They compliment each other perfectly like ying and yang to create such a harmonious couple.

A peaceful day, this book and a drink of choice and you can't go far wrong!

My heart is full and chest tight. I just turned the last page and all I can say is “Wow”. I am struggling to find words as my eyes well up with tears. This book takes you on a roller coaster of emotions. It is story that unfolds with intrigue, soliciting my need to know more as I realize I don’t have all the facts. Austin and Miranda’s tale has much needed flashbacks that continue to reveal all. It made my heart happy to feel as if I was living small-town, cattle-ranching Texas by the descriptive telling of this story (beautiful). Plan for a message that explores getting a personal look at ones missteps and repercussions from those choices. This author doesn’t villainize her character but just shows the imperfections of human nature. Even through the injustices, you see the path to forgiveness. OMG I might need therapy after this book which (call me crazy) is my favorite kind of book. Happy Reading!
