STILL GAME'S stars have said farewell to the legendary series as the curtain closed on its final show.

Last night's gig at The Hydro brought an end to a 15-night run, their third set of live shows.

And it was goodbye to the hilarious sitcom, which spanned nine series and first hit our screens in 2002.

Greg Hemphill and Ford Kiernan created the series after the success of their sketch show Chewin' The Fat.

The comedy duo led Still Game as witty pensioners Victor McDade and Jack Jarvis.

The pair - along with all the main characters - faded away at the end of the TV series.

And early this morning, after the dust had settled on their final performance, Hemphill shared a fitting picture to wrap up the show.

Posted on Twitter without any caption, the snap shows two skeletons dressed as old men, lying side by side in the shadow of a mountain.

Fans were loving Hemphill's pic, as it racked up 4,000 likes in just a few hours and was flooded with comments.

One said: "Thanks for the laughs (and a few tears). Bloody brilliant from start to finish."

Another added: "Came to the first live show of this run and again last night.
