Step into Spring with Rockwell Group

The cherry and magnolia trees are blooming in New York and so is NYCxDesign, the city's official, annual design event. We here at Rockwell Group are excited to stop and smell the flowers on our way to all of the fairs, exhibitions, and talks. Don't miss us at the venues below, as well as HD Expo 2017 in Las Vegas.

  • HD Expo 2017, May 3-5
Rockwell Group designed the Social Hub for the Expo, hosted by Mandalay Bay Las Vegas. This show floor space hosts attendees and exhibitors for thought-provoking conversations about the world of hospitality design. Pushing the boundaries with captivating materials and design, we were inspired by the retro appeal of a 1980s high school cafeteria and the space includes a bar, mini theater, flexible seating, and a stage.

Tech Talk: Digital Architecture and Space Making

    May 4, 1:30-2:30 p.m.
Join Rockwell Group Partner Shawn Sullivan and others for a discussion about how advances in hardware and software are enabling architects and designers to integrate technology into hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, and other hospitality environments.
  • Collective Design Fair, May 3-7
The LAB at Rockwell Group has created a thrilling arrival moment at the entrance to the fair. Inspired by the idea of reinventing the red carpet, the LAB designed an undulating passageway made of CNC-milled plywood ribs clad in playful layers of shimmering reflective foil fringe. Arching over a blue carpet, Collective Design’s signature color, the interactive installation will foster a sense of discovery.
  • BKLYN Designs, May 5-7
Rockwell Group's breakthrough play space concept Imagination Playground will be on hand during the fair for kids and adults alike. Comprised of an assortment of foam blocks in uniquely designed shapes, Imagination Playground empowers children to constantly reconfigure the space and encourages unstructured free play.
  • NYCxDESIGN Pavilion, May 21
11am: Join DuPont Corian, Barry Richards and a panel of designers moderated by Architizer’s Marc Kushner to discover the global material trends of 2017.
  • WantedDesign, May 20-23
WantedDesign introduces a new program this year: WANTED Interiors with Sony Life Space UX, which lands somewhere between a product showcase and a beautiful entertainment space at Manhattan's Terminal Stores building. Professor Jon Otis’s master interior design students from Pratt Institute collaborated on the concept and design of the space with Rockwell Group Principal Barry Richards. To create and build out the showcase, they worked with new and innovative products, materials, and furniture from leading design companies.
  • ICFF, May 21-24
The Inciso Collection is the first collection of fixtures and accessories for GESSI by an American designer, bringing a new visual language to the contemporary bath-scape. Channeling the honesty of traditional craftsmanship and American spirit, the pieces wed modern style with heritage details and finishes. Stop by GESSI's booth (2033) to learn how the collection integrates graciously into a variety of home and hospitality environments.
