3 injured in wrong-way crash on I-405 in Renton; DUI suspected

RENTON, Wash. -- A wrong-way driver crashed into another vehicle on I-405 in Renton early Tuesday morning, seriously injuring herself and causing minor injuries to two others.

The crash was reported at about 2:30 a.m. on northbound I-405 at Talbot Rd. Officials said a total of three people were hurt.

The causing driver was a 33-year-old woman who suffered serious injuries and was taken to Harborview Medical Center. The two others involved in the crash, a 48-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy, suffered minor injuries and were taken to Valley Medical Center. None of the injuries were deemed life-threatening.

The Washington State Patrol said the causing driver is in custody on suspicion of DUI.

All lanes of I-405 have reopened following the crash investigation.
