Kelsie is a sucker for a love story with all the feels. When she's not chasing words for her next book, you will probably find her reading or, more likely, hanging out with her husband and playing with her three kiddos who love to drive her crazy.

She adores photography, baking, her yorkie, Bob, and her devon rex, Mara. And now that she's actively pursuing her writing dreams, she's set her sights on someday finding the self-discipline to not binge-watch an entire series on Netflix in one sitting.

I almost DNF’d this book. So Luke has a girlfriend when inviting the love of his life, Liv, who has a conveniently dead husband and a less than convenient baby of board, to live with him. Ok fine. Liv married his former best friend Adam and Luke had to move on and he should have. But when he knows that he’s still in love with her and making plans to “be there forever” for the baby? It’s time to break up. You know what it’s *not* time for? Sleepovers at the girlfriends house. You know what it’s REALLY *not* time for? Bringing her home, letting Liv listen to the sex capades all night and making out with her in the morning, several times, only to “oops” almost kiss Liv. That’s gross. And emotionally manipulative to both women. And gross.
Also, Luke’s “big secret” was really that Adam once got drunk and cheated on Liv and Luke didn’t tell? And that’s why he cut ties, stayed away for years and felt bottomless guilt? Ummm, ok then. Whatevs.
Super confused by evil mother-in-Law Susan. So she falls apart when her son dies. And that makes her be super nice to Liv when she visits while “surprise you’re a grandma” and 8 months pregnant. Until the next day when not only has she bought out a baby store and wrapped everything but also arranged, on Christmas Eve, to transfer money to Liv, and then flips out angry because Luke is there? And why the heck does she need to transfer “Adams’s” money to Liv? As his wife of many years, if it was Adam’s it should be hers. Maybe mommy dearest had him on an allowance? Ick.
Anyway, blah blah blah they do live happily ever after and are even expecting a baby girl. Good on them I guess. Oh, and of importance. There was only kissing. And the sex sounds of Adam with another woman. But no adult sexy times on the page.

Audiobook review. 3.5 Stars. The story was solid all around with a consistent flow, strong prose, and dynamic enough characters. The plot was ok. Nothing that was different or unexpected, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Especially when you’re in the mood for something that won’t throw a wrench into a plot for the sake of it.

Luke was a hero that wore his heart on his sleeve. He always thought of others before himself and was kind and protective. I would’ve liked to have seen a little more imperfection from him but he is definitely a dream man for our heroine. I’m trying to decide if Liv was blind or naive to Luke and his feelings. Either way, she got a tough deal and is trying to figure herself out. She was a bit dependent for my tastes but ok overall.

The narrator, Amanda Stribling, did a good job. Her transitions were smooth, her pace was steady, and her tone clear. She gave the characters life with her intensity and inflections.

Complimentary copy received and voluntarily reviewed.

First, I want to thank Kelsie Rae for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

Kelsie Rae’s Liv novel as a first-time Indie Writer picked a genius of a storyline to for her debut novel. This book will capture your emotions, shock you to the core, have you in tears, and wanting to jump in the book and hug Live by the end of chapter 1! How the author got through writing those scenes I have no clue. However, I give her credit for writing them and for the character living them.

The descriptions, details of the events that took place, and Liv’s thoughts and emotions were
extremely well written. The characters you could not help fall in love with as they were genuine. You could tell that the author was very passionate about the characters in telling of this story.
There was one person in the book that rubbed me the wrong way from the very beginning of the book. That person would be Susan. Adam’s Mom and Liv’s Mom-in-Law.

This story did have a life lesson if you looked very closely.

I didn’t want the book to end. However, Kelsie Rae wrote the best Epilogue that I ever read. It updated the readers on where the characters were in the future. I was grinning ear to ear! Perfect ending to an amazing story!!

The dedication of this book was extremely cute and made this big kid at heart smile. Totally understanding the meaning of where she was coming from with this statement.

I love how genuinely appreciative Kelsie Rae is of her readers as she points this out in the Dear Reader section of her book. She also gives her readers and inside look of whom she really is in the About the Author section of the book.

Kelsie Rae has talent! I hope this is not the last time we as readers get to read her books.

Dead spouse books are a hit or a miss for me. This, was a DEFINITE miss.

Liv grieved for her husband for like 2 minutes. At her husbands funeral she noticed how good Luke looked. Like WTH?? The love of your life just died and you are noticing how "good, really good" another man looks.

In the next few chapters she is getting jealous of Luke and his girlfriend. Wow

Next thing you know, Luke tells Liv that her husband (Adam) cheated on her. Hahaha some authors are funny. NOT REALLY

I HATE when authors turn the dead spouse into someone lesser than the hero just because they can't right a good enough romance between the hero and the heroine.

Hey authors, you do not have to turn the dead spouse into a jerk to write a good romance.

In the beginning Liv was talking about how great her love was with her husband. It's ok to let a character love their late husband or wife. You don't have to destroy that character to build up your MC.

I'm very disappointed 😔

The writing was good though, that's what the one star is for.

I might read the author's next book. Idk, we'll see.

Loved💓💓 this story

Kelsie is a new author, but reading this story you would never know. She brings a tragic story to life and at the end brings the heart and soul out to all the characters.

Liv loses the love of her life. And the day she is to go put him in the ground she finds out she is pregnant. Now she has to figure out what she is going to do. Adam was her whole life. So when Luke shows up to Adams funeral Liv leans on him for support.

Luke was Adam and Liv's best friend all through high school. Luke is in love with Liv but Adam got to her first. So Luke left town to give Adam and Liv a real chance. But now that Adam is gone, Luke is there for Liv and to help her.

This story made me laugh, cry, roll my eyes, and finally sigh in happiness. What more could you ask for?

Kelsie Rae just became one of my new favoruite authors, ever! I absolutely fell in love with Liv and Luke and couldn't put the book down. I started Liv at 6:00 am and was finished reading it by 8:00 am when I had to go to work - it was that good! You are instantly hooked from the very moment you open the book and read the first page, as Kelsei Rae writes a story that makes you want to re-read it over and over again. Rae is a fantastic writer that can capture her characters thoughts and feelings in the words that jump off the pages and into her reader's hearts. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book!

You have never read a book where two characters are destined to be together more than Liv. Luke has been secretly pinning (well not secretly - only a secret to Liv) since she first walked into his life many years ago. Like a typical high-school threesome, both Luke and Adam both wanted Liv's affection, but it was Adam who won out in the end. Flash forward a few years and after a devastantingly loss for Liv, Luke is back in her life. The chemistry between the two is so special and sweet it will leave you swooning. I love Luke's character and how he has protected Liv for so many years, doing what is best for her and putting what he wants second - that is true love. Liv is living with grief and sorrow and trying to look forward to a future that she never expected. Throw in a bit of drama and you have yourself one of the best books I have read this year!

If you are looking for a good read, something that will capture your heart and soul, then Liv is for you. Kelsei Rae is a talented and witty writer and I cannot wait to read more books from her! Hard to believe that Liv is the first book from this amazing author. Make sure you add Liv to your To-Be-Read Shelf as it wont disappoint! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Omg it was insta love for me and this book. Such a devastating and sweet book. Liv is a nice girl who has been dealt a crap hand at life.
Luke is absolutely amazing. Sexy, sweet and caring. What more could you want?
This is an amazing, highly addictive book. Once you open it, it will pull you in and keep you wanting the words to continue. This is a fantastic debut novel by the author. Looking forward to the second one to come. Absolutely a must read!

I got the overwhelming impression that the writer loathes women.

The main character shrieks, screeches, cries, vomits, and falls apart throughout the book. She also wanted to punch her friend for being pretty.

It was just so gross....

And then there was the bit where the pregnant and widowed main character was listening to the male character have sex.

Nope!

When I read the blurb Kelsie Rae’s debut novel, Liv, I knew I wanted to read it. I love books that are emotional and angst-filled, and Liv had it in spades.

Liv married her high school sweetheart. Her life could not be any more perfect. Then tragedy hits and she loses her husband. The last thing she expected was to find out she was pregnant on the day she says goodbye to her husband. Now her entire life is turned upside down.

Luke, Liv and Adam were best friends in high school. But Luke had a secret. When he and Adam have a falling out, he walks out of their lives. He was never supposed to see them again. But when Adam dies, he goes back to say goodbye to his best friend. When he sees Liv needs help, he cannot help but step in.

I loved Liv and Luke. Liv was heartbroken after her loss and was trying to find a way to move forward and provide for her child. Even as she deals with her grief. Luke was so protective of Liv. He was sweet and caring. He put his life on hold for Liv. Both characters were so relatable and likable.

The more time Luke and Liv spend together, you can see their chemistry. Both characters had so much to give each other. There was drama, angst, emotions and so many other things in their way, but going through their journey, you could see how much they belonged together.

I absolutely loved Liv by Kelsie Rae. She gave us amazing characters and a story that will consume you. This was a beautiful story of love, hope and second chances from a debut author. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.

4.5 beautiful stars! A great debut!

Happy reading

I was lucky enough to read the story of Liv and Luke prior to it hitting Amazon. This book hits home to where you can actually visualize your hometown or that you're apart of the story and walking in the characters shoes. The chemistry between Liv and Luke is literally like a wildfire roaming through and it keeps building until the walls come tumbling down on you. This book is a rollarcoaster of emotions! (The good ones only, I promise!)

Kelsie has an explicit way of bringing the characters to life with their lively banter, smart alac(y) remarks and the constant need to finish each page. I literally could not put down this book till the very end!

Forevermore on of my go to reads, authors and inspirations! Thank you so much Kelise for bringing reality from off of the pages.

P.S. I can NOT wait for Breezy!

This was super cute. I loved Liv and Luke. The connection between them was so strong, but it evolved at the perfect pace while being fast. Sometimes when reading a book you know that it’s going to give you all the warm and fuzzies and that’s what this book did. It didn’t have heavy drama and that’s something that o can appreciate. I was sad that there wasn’t really any steam but it fit the story perfectly. I can’t wait to see what this author writes next. She did great for her first book and I’m excited for Breezy which is next. 4 stars #2OCCJD

Liv made me cry throughout this novel because I was so invested in the characters and their story. Ashley @White Hot Reads

I am truly in love with Kelsie Rae's debut novel. Within the first chapter, I was in love with Liv strength and courage. She has dealt with a lot of tragedies and heartache with the loss of her parents and now her husband. There is one gift he left her with. Luke left his hometown because he was in love with the one women he could never have now with the loss of his childhood best friend he now has a chance with the one he could never have. Even if that chance is just being there for her while she deals with the loss and the new life. The trails that they go through to find their HEA. I am truly in love with all the characters. I could not put the book down but had to when life got in the way of reading.

I cannot wait for Breezy's book to see how she grows and to read more from Kelsie Rae!.

Kelsie Rae has just become my favorite new author with her first book “Liv”. This book is so good at capturing your emotions, everything from grief and tragedy to pain and anger to passion and happiness to love and 2nd chance forever after. You run the gamut of emotions plus tons more. The chemistry between Liv and Luke is super intense; you know that their feelings are the kind that just didn’t die from years before. Theirs is the best kind of 2nd chance romance reads, even with how they came back together. This book will have you hooked with its pregnancy and second chance romance theme. Ms. Rae hooks readers with her fresh take and sizzling plot that moves at a rapid clip with the roller coaster emotions and feels. This is such an amazing story, I don’t want to give any spoilers away except to say this is a MUST READ from a fantastic new indie author!

My Rating: 4.7 stars *****

Sweet And Sensual

This book is about a gal finding her way back to a relationship with a super good friend who always had a thing for her, she of course was oblivious lol

This story was about healing also. Really powerful.

There was quite a lot of innuendo but no actual sexy times but it really just worked for this story.

This author is becoming a fast favorite!

Liv was an emotional, pull at your heart strings kind of read. Lana @White Hot Reads.

As a first time author, Kelsie Rae did a fantastic job with this book. You instantly fall in love with Liv and sympathize with her then you meet Luke and its like Whoa that boy is hot, awesome and so thoughtful. He'd do anything for the girl he's always loved and does. This was just the perfect book to cleanse my brain. I didn't want to put it down. I'm looking forward to her next book in this series.

This is the author's debut and I loved it and never wanted to put it down (but I had to cause I moved house and was unpacking as well as mummy duties to my 4 year old son and almost 1 year old daughter). I can't wait to read more from this author and see what happens next in this series.

Liv married her high school sweetheart. Her life could not be any more perfect. Then tragedy hits and she loses the love of her life and the morning of his funeral she finds out she is pregnant. Now she has to figure out what she is going to do as Adam was her whole life.

Luke was Adam and Liv's best friend all through high school. Luke is in love with Liv but Adam got to her first. When he and Adam have a falling out, he walks out of their lives and leaves town to give Adam and Liv a real chance. He was never supposed to see them again. But when Adam dies, he goes back to say goodbye to his best friend.

I loved the Epilogue. It updates you on where the characters are in the future. It was a perfect ending to an amazing story.

I’m OBSESSED with Luke!

Y’all....omg. I seriously have no words.

.....

Give me a minute.

Luke and Liv. Ahhhh.

I love this story! Love it. I’m a huge sucker for friends to lovers and this story was perfect in every way. This is the first book I’ve read from this author, I have seen it everywhere, and the blurb just drew me in. I started it a while ago but my schedule got crazy and I put it down. I picked it back up this morning, and I have no idea where my day has gone.

I think, considering the circumstances, the romance was perfectly paced. Nothing felt forced and the emotions seemed genuine despite the tragedy.

This was a beautiful love story full of heartbreak and understanding. The characters were incredibly real and Luke had me swooning.

Their little “chicken” game? And when he told her the truth about the wedding? Omg. Talk about heart pounding! I just couldn’t get enough of this couple.

You need this book. I can’t say that and recommend it enough. Go grab it!

I can’t wait to read more from this author!

In a nutshell :

Woman falls in love at 16, marries him, he dies unexpectedly, she finds out she's pregnant the day of his funeral. In walks in former BFF to both, swoops in, saves the day, is totally ok with the love of HIS life listening to him and his girlfriend have sex. At some point, calls his girlfriend by Woman's name during sex - super classy there. Woman finds out husband cheated when they were 17 and weird mother-in-law conveniently has a journal kept by cheating husband. Said journal clears eeeeeverything up so she can live happily ever after with former BFF.

All in a span of what, 8 months ?? Granted, there is no rule that says you have to mourn your former spouse for any given amount of time. But when he's "the love of your life" and you've just found out you're having his baby ? I would think it should take longer than a few months. It also feels like man, these adults just don't know how to face and deal with things. They run away.

Yeah, this just didn't really do it for me.

5 star review for Liz by Kelsie Rae!! I honestly could not put this book down. I have read a lot of amazing books but I think this one beats out most of them. Liv and Luke's story is like something I've never read before and the hoops they had to jump through and obstacles made this book so much better. I can not wait to read the next book in this series and will be adding Kelsie Rae to my must read list for anything she writes!! Highly recommend this book!! - By Cheyenne
