Grizzly bear researchers are going to start trapping bears Sunday in Yellowstone National Park.

The Interagency Grizzly Bear Study Team announced in a news release that biologists will trap both grizzly and black bears for research purposes. The operations will continue through July 30.

Trapping will occur at remote locations in the park that aren’t near established hiking trails or backcountry campsites. Signs warning the public will be posted around the perimeter of trapping areas. The public is asked to heed the warnings.
