Yudhiagust (Indonesia) Wins Division VI, I.nfraR.ed (Bulgaria) Wins Division VII: Road to Pro 2017

Today we conclude our coverage of the Road to Pro Challenger Divisions with a roundup of Divisions VI and VII. Division VI is all about overclocking Mobile Intel processors that we find in today’s notebook PCs. Division VII however focuses on overclocking retro hardware from several years ago - specifically AMD’s socket AM2 processors alongside ATi Radeon 3000 series GPUs. Let’s take a look at the scores and submissions from Round 1 of the Road to Pro 2017.

Challenger 2017 Round 1: Division VI

In Division VI challengers are allowed to use any Intel Core mobile series processor from Haswell, Broadwell, Skylake and Kaby Lake generations, plus any single GPU. In essence the Division is about pushing notebook PC hardware to the max.

Stage 1: Intel XTU

In Stage 1 of Round 2 we find two Indonesian overclockers that actually represent two ends of the Overclocking spectrum. Indonesian No.1 Lucky_n00b takes top spot by some distance, scoring 1,530 marks using a monster of a machine from ASUS. The ASUS GX800 packs a Intel Core i7 7820HK processor which was overclocked to 4,480MHz (+54.48%). How is this possible? Because the GX800 uses advanced water cooling when docked. If that was not enough power under the hood, it also features a pair of Nvidia GTX 1080 GPUs.
