Watch This Stabby Robot Play the Knife Game With a Human Hand

We’ve all seen footage of giant factory robots hoisting and placing heavy parts with perfect precision, so it should come as no surprise that a robot arm can adeptly play the knife game without lopping off someone’s finger. But even with that in mind, you’ll still be stressed watching this stabby robot in action.

Attaching a giant knife to a robot’s arm wasn’t the smartest thing to do given it’s just a matter of time before the bots turn on us, but letting it stab its way between your fingers is no stroke of genius, either. And while this Stäubli TX40 industrial arm doesn’t play the Knife Game as quickly as the android Bishop did in Alien, we’re content to just challenge robots to a nice safe game of air hockey.
