Touring the Sodo winery and brewery scene isn't a bad idea. Grabbing pizza at Nine Pies, however, is. Let's start with the silver linings—their garage-like space makes for a good hang, and the fact that it's a food source located directly next to a syrah factory is a plus. We wouldn't mind gnawing on their pesto-infused breadsticks after one too many glugs of merlot. But the New York-style pies are floppy-flimsy, gummy with a heavy hand of underwhelming cheese, and just bland. And if you find yourself ravenous for slices in the neighborhood, we're sending you to Slice Box instead, which is five minutes away and much better.
