Sometimes when I read a book with a family in it, they seem so perfect that it is totally unrealistic & (by extension) off-putting. That's what I love about the writings of Carrie Ann Ryan. The families in them are perfect in their imperfection. There are sisters that are too involved, brothers that are too overprotective, siblings that are grumpy. Running through all of that however, is the undeniable love that each feels for the others. What I loved about this book, in particular, is that it looked at wider family. Not just those that share the same parents, but those that through love join the family along the way. Tucker is a perfect example. Having been a member of the wider Carr family for many years, the when he steps in to help Amelia the family faces the reality of changing dynamics. There is so much to love about this book. Tucker & Amelia are wonderful individually as well as together & they seem much more than just characters. There is a feeling of reality to them, from their interactions, to their occupations. No self-made millionaires here. I also really enjoy the way the series hasn't just flowed down the siblings by age, but has jumped around. Again, adding to the realism.

Book 2 in Less Than series, Reckless with You by Carrie Ann Ryan. Amelia is the younger sibling in the Carr family and even though her childhood was tragic she still had her amazing brothers and sisters but also her best friend from high school Toby. One night Amelia gives herself a pep talk and turns up to Toby’s house in lingerie and long coat. After Toby tells her he doesn’t love her that way and that he’s in a serious relationship with another women. Afterwards a lot happens but the siblings get involved and think dating is the answer but Amelia just wants to process. She asks Tucker to be her beard. I absolutely loved this book and especially the development of both Amelia and Tucker’s growth in this story. Absolutely loving this genre by Carrie Ann Ryan I thought I’d miss shapeshifter or witches but I have not been disappointed

What happens when you fall in love with your best friend, and he doesn't feel the same way? You create a fake relationship to get over the embarrassment, of course! This has got to be the most interesting spin on the "best friend's little sister" romance I've ever read! Tucker and Amelia are two of the funniest characters that I've read about recently! Amelia, despite having really horrible parents, has amazing big brothers, that support her and love her. But there is still something missing. What she thinks is love, turns out to be wishful thinking. What starts out as a way to make her family back off, turns into something that makes her want more. Tucker has spent his entire life alone. A product of the foster care system, he has made his own family, of friends that always have his back. When his best friend's little sister asks for something totally out of left field, he starts seeing her in a different light. Slowly, despite their best intentions, things change, and neither know what to do about it. This book was at times funny, and at times serious. Amelia is one mixed up individual, always helping others, but not knowing what to do about her own life. Tucker, on the other hand, is a loner, never letting anyone behind his walls, even those closest to him. He thinks he knows what road his life is on, and is thrown into left field when things take a surprising turn. As always, with this author's series, family plays a huge part in the story, which leaves me with warm, fuzzy feelings, and a huge smile on my face. This book fits in well with the previous stories about this family, and with the entire Montgomery World. If you've read, and loved them, you will enjoy Amelia and Tucker's story!
