The Regulatory Develolpment Analyst is responsible for assisting the Head of Regulatory Developments to pro-actively identify developing regulation that could impact LGIM’s business and provide comprehensive business-focused compliance advisory support as required.

  • Identifying and monitoring regulatory changes and enforcement action to ensure that Regulatory Development logs are kept up-to-date with information on current and upcoming law and regulation.
  • Analysing developing regulation for any impact on LGIM’s business and working with the business to meet any new regulatory requirements, including tracking the progress of required actions.
  • Maintaining knowledge of relevant rules and legislation, providing advice and guidance and challenging existing policies, processes and controls where necessary.
  • Assisting with drafting material for training sessions and delivering training and other presentations.
  • Preparing monthly management information reports on regulatory change for senior management and committees.
  • Liaising with colleagues to prepare responses to consultation papers, co-ordinating with business areas to draft position papers and coordinating advocacy priorities.
  • There may be the opportunity to represent LGIM on external trade bodies, industry working parties and the FCA.
  • Good analytical skills and some industry awareness, including of emerging regulation.
  • Be willing to build good knowledge of retail and wholesale compliance in an asset management, pensions and unit trust management context.
  • Be extremely organised, demonstrate high attention to detail and the ability to work effectively, both individually and within a team.
  • Ability to work with other Compliance team members and business colleagues to promote a good compliance culture so that regulatory expectations are exceeded.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills to ensure high quality delivery of management information and presentation in meetings and other forums where the candidate will represent Compliance.
  • Ability to work efficiently with the Regulatory Developments Manager and other senior compliance managers to successfully support the Compliance function and Compliance projects, by proactively developing effective and efficient methods and tools to manage the workload and supporting/covering fellow team members on an ad hoc basis.
  • Demonstrate ability to maintain effective relationships with management and external parties, such as suppliers and outsourcers, to enable the delivery of practical solutions to problems or the implementation of improved systems, processes or controls.
