In order to lure out Death Gun – the key to the so-called "in-game murderer" – Kirito enters the Bullet of Bullets (BoB) tournament in Gun Gale Online. During the preliminary round, Kirito meets a man who appears to be Death Gun, and senses he is an SAO survivor like himself. Reminded of the desperate measures he took to survive in SAO, Kirito becomes depressed. But as he continues fighting alongside the female sniper, Sinon, he is able to return to his old self.
