Aunt Penny's beach house isn't the only thing getting flipped in this hilarious romantic comedy!

Andrew and Sonnet hated each other in high school. Always rivals for the best grades and top academic honors, there was no love lost between these two nerds after graduation.

Ten years later, they're both named heirs to property in coastal Delaware after the passing of its owner, Penelope Vaughn, who was Andrew's great aunt and Sonnet's beloved next door neighbor growing up. The quaint beach cottage needs serious work before going on the market.

Andrew and Sonnet are both willing to bury the hatchet in exchange for drills and saws, especially since they stand to make a pretty penny with the beachfront property, which will finance Drew's dream of opening a business and Sonnet's plan to earn her doctorate in astrophysics. But when they face a multitude of home improvement obstacles, will these two former adversaries be able to pull off a successful flip?

Or did Great Aunt Penny have something else in mind all along?

If you love The Money Pit or all those HGTV shows about house flipping, you will LOVE this hilarious romantic comedy.

The Flip is part of the Romance in Rehoboth Series, where the ladies are strong and independent and the men are actually nice guys. These delightful romantic comedies are set against the backdrop of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware's top vacation destination and do NOT need to be read in order.

BANGOR BELLE BOOK BESTIES
I voluntarily received an arc of this book in return for nothing but an honest review.

This book was an extremely light, enjoyable and refreshing read. Andrew and Sonnet are typical nerds, and arch rivals for most of their youth. Now adults, Sonnet being the over achiever and Andrew being somewhat his loveable self are thrown together when they jointly inherit a beach house. They have to work together to renovate and sell it, so they can get on with their own lives.

I loved this couple, total opposites yet not so different in the things that really matter. Their antic’s and the mishaps had me seriously laughing and their growing relationship warmed my heart. This book brings so much into play. A neighborhood with the typical mixture of residents, a little girl who steals a lot of scenes and a warmth that shows how easy it is to care for those around us. I loved the journey for both Sonnet and Andrew. Sonnet dedicated to her job, leaving little time for those around her or attachments, yet deep inside she has such a caring heart. When life changes what do you do? when your dreams are there for the taking yet you find something you didn’t know you needed, what choices are the right ones? This really is a beautiful story wrapped up in the fun of Andrew, awaking Sonnet emotionally to so much more. So does ambition win over love or can you really have it all???? Grab this book and find out, you won’t regret it !!

The Flip is a sweet 'fade-to-black' romance with some really fun characters that I want to read more about! And There was a ton of great banter. It was my first book by K.L. Montgomery, but won't be my last.

Sonnet and Andrew have been rivals since grade school, both at the top of their classes.

"I roll my eyes. I figure by the end of the summer, my eye muscles will be the strongest ones in my entire body, they’re going to get such a work out from dealing with Andrew Clark."

Andrew's Aunt Penny leaves them her beach house and a 'flip' just the thing that they both need. They can each jump start their dreams if they can fix up the house to sell and use the profit. Andrew wants to open a local performing arts center and Sonnet dreams of going to MIT for her PhD and then teaching.

"Besides encouraging me to literally reach for the stars, she was also big on lifting others up so they could shine just as brightly. “There’s enough room in the sky for all the stars,” she always used to say."

I loved all the house flipping, DIY, trips to home improvement stores, etc. It made for a unique and fun story. The beach house became a character in itself and I enjoyed reading about its progress and transformation!
4.5 Stars!!

This is the PERFECT beach and summer read!!! I really, really enjoyed this book and it is more like a 4.5 stars not 4 stars! Our main female character Sonnet is independent, smart, super sassy, funny, and so very loveable even if she seems like an ice queen in the beginning of the book. Andrew starts off as this flighty man boy but his journey as an individual is just as inspiring as Sonnet's is. Both, Sonnet and Andrew have a beautiful, fun, and funny journey on a path of discovery of self. I loved all of the body positive topics, self love and confidence building written deep into the different layers of this positive, light, fun book. The acknowledgement was a joy and special thing to read as well.

Provided as an ARC for a honest and voluntary review.

The Flip is the second book in the ‘Romance in Rehoboth series by K.L Montgomery. It was such a fun read, one of my favourites that Ms. Montgomery has written. It is a light-hearted read, but with just the right amount of drama and tension to really keep things interesting. This is a superb contemporary romance, with a enemies to lover aspect to the storyline. This book can be read as a standalone, even though it is the second book in the series, as the series is made up of standalone stories- where each book centres on its own particular characters/couple, but the common factor is that they all are set against the backdrop of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Having said that though, I really do recommend reading all the books- because they are wonderful stories in their own rights, and help to paint a larger picture.
Sonnet and Andrew have an interesting history. They have known each other since childhood and had developed a bitter rivalry between them. Their dislike of one another ran deep. Since graduating high school, both moved on with their lives and haven’t had any contact for the past ten years.
Now, out of the blue, they have both inherited the same beachside cottage. The house needs some work to bring it back to life and Sonnet and Andrew are at a point in their lives where they could both use an influx of cash to help them chase their dreams- so renovating the cottage and getting it sold would help accomplish this.
But can these two put aside any animosity and find a way to work together to make that happen- or will all the old feelings come bubbling to the surface? What happens when these two have to spend so much time together on their shared project? And will they survive the flip?
As I have said many times now, Ms. Montgomery is a very gifted storyteller, who is easily able to pull readers into her story and keep them connected to the storyline and characters- completely hooked from beginning to end. I love how her story depicts characters that are realistic, believable, relatable and endearing.
As with all her other books, this is really well written, with a clever and fun story that helps to make it stand out from others in the same genre.
Bring on the next book!!!

Thank you, Ms. Montgomery!

Sonnet and Drew have always been competitive, even back when they competed for Valedictorian in high school. They never were the best of friends. So imagine their surprise when Drew's great aunt Penny leaves her beach house to both of them!

They decide to flip the house, and I'm not sure which I liked more: the chemistry between the two or the hilarious mishaps they encounter. A summer fling never hurt anyone, right? Sonnet and Drew decide to give it a run. Can they figure out what dreams they really want to chase?

I enjoyed the fast pace of this book. Before I knew it, I was at the end! A cute romance with a great story.

DNF at page 44. I am not liking the author having characters break the 4th wall with the reader. It seems almost immature. But then the other proceeded to type “…get his *bleeping* truck out of my *bleeping* yard! …. He did not say *bleeping* by the way.”

Like, really? I don’t see the whole point of this dialogue.

Anywho, I don’t see how these two characters could be compatible to begin with. She’s a literally rocket scientist, and he is currently living with his parents and letting him mom do his laundry and make him pancakes because “it makes her feel special”. I can’t even hate read this for fun.

This book had me giggling from the beginning. I felt a bit of a connection to both Sonnet and Andrew because I knew all of the towns/local that Ms. Montgomery wrote about.

I liked the dynamic of the relationship between Andrew and Sonnet. High school enemies who reconnect under horrible circumstances.

I'm looking forward to reading more from the author.

This is an enjoyable, fast-paced book. The story is entertains, and humorous told in alternating points of view. This would be a perfect book to read at the beach. This is the first book by this author I have read and it won’t be my last.

I received a copy of this book from the author, my review has been voluntarily submitted.

The Flip by K.L. Montgomery a four-star read that you will flip over. This is the second book in the Romance in Rehoboth series and they are all stand-alone but do feature characters from the series, I have read it as part of the series and enjoyed it as such. I would have loved to have given this five-stars as it’s a really great story, but something stopped me, and I can’t put my finger on it. Overall it was great, but there are just a couple of moments that let it down for me. But that being said there are some of the greatest moments in this that involve an alligator ever written, you will be laughing out loud with this one. Sonnet and Andrew have a romance written in the stars, but it takes a lot to see the stars sometimes. I am excited to read this whole series.

The Flip (Romance in Rohoboth Book 2) by K.L. Montgomery is the second book in her Rohoboth series. This is a standalone book as it is not necessary to read the first book for this story to flow. I would highly recommend reading the first book, I know you will enjoy it! One of my favorite things about this author is her creativity with her characters. They are funny, loving, sweet and strong all at the same time. They have the ability to pull you into the story and make you feel like you are right there with them. They are true to life and keep the story engaging until the end. This story will show you that sometimes when you are dealing with love that there are other forces working. Find out what happens when two people are thrown together to flip a house but just might find more then what they were expecting.

Andrew and Sonnet have always been rivals at everything in high school. They couldn't stand each other so there was no love loss after graduation. Now ten years later, they are both named heirs to some beach front property left to them by Penelope Vaughn. Penelope was Andrew's great aunt and Sonnet's go to neighbor when she needed to talk when she was growing up. The house needs work, are they both willing to put the past behind them to flip this house? Are they willing to work together in order to sell the house so that they can live their dreams? What will happen when things don't go as well with the house as they thought? Could it be that Penelope has something else in mind when she put these two together?

Andrew and Sonnet had always been rivals growing up, competing against each other. But when they find out they are both heirs to the beach front property, what will they do? Will they find that they have more in common then they realize? When Sonnet starts seeing Andrew in a different light and Andrew starts having feelings for her, will there be a future for them? Both these characters are strong and know what they want with their future. She is sassy, independent who doesn't back down. He is the sweet guy that he always has been. Both of these characters are so lovable. They just pop off the pages and pull you into their world. This is such a sweet story that you will just fall in love with it. The secondary characters are just as sassy and humorous as the two main characters. They complement the main characters. You need to find out what happens with this couple as they start figuring out that just maybe Penelope knew what she was doing when she put them together.

I am not sure how many books I have read by K.L. Montgomery, this is one of my favorite series by her. K.L. lives in rural Delaware with her husband, three children and their pets. She has an undying love of Broadway musicals, beaches, the color teal, dark chocolate and I U basketball. After a career of being a librarian she now writes and takes care of her family. This is a fast paced story that will have you turning page after page. You will need to see what happens and if they have a future together. I for one can't wait to see what she will come out next in this series. I highly recommend this story as I know you will want to see what happens in this flip!

I give The Flip (book 2 in the Romance in Rehoboth series) by K.L. Montgomery 4 stars.

Andrew’s great aunt Penny owned a house in Bethany Beach, Delaware, and he spent a lot of time over there when he was growing up. A few doors down was a girl his age named Sonnet. A lonely girl, she also spent a lot of time at Penny's house. They tolerated each other until high school, where they became intellectual rivals. Andrew was always picking on Sonnet, and she couldn’t stand how he thought he was better than her because he was a hot-shot football player. She was just the dorky smart girl who felt like she had to the best in everything.

This feeling followed Sonnet into her adult life, where she fought hard to become one of the few female rocket scientists in NASA in Virginia. She dedicated to her job, but she also wants to go to MIT to further herself. She has no social life, but who needs men? They will just disappoint you anyway. Then she receives a letter that changes everything.

Andrew was the class clown in high school. He was always naturally good in school, but his life hasn’t really changed much in the 10 years since he graduated. He has tended bar up and down the Delaware coast, but he can’t seem to stay put. A serious relationship with a girl ended horribly, leaving him to move back in with his parents. Sure, he has dreams, but he has no idea how to accomplish them. Then he receives a letter telling him his aunt Penny has passed away and left him as a co-owner of her house. Updating and flipping the house would bring him enough money to get started on his dream, even if he has to split it with someone. But he wonders who it can be….

When Andrew walk into the lawyer’s office, Sonnet cannot believe he is the other owner. Of all the people, it had to be him!!!!

The could both use the money, so they decide to work together to get this flip done. But things are quickly evident that this won’t be as simple as they first believed. Penny was a pack rat, and the inside of her house is badly outdated. Then they run into one problem after another. But along the way, they just might find out that there is more to each of them than who they were ten years ago. Can they pull this flip off without killing each other or is it a lost cause?

This is a wonderful summer read! To be honest, the main reason I picked this book is because I am only a few miles from Bethany Beach. It’s a small state and there aren’t many books set in my state. It was wonderful to see places I recognized mentioned in the book, but I was also pleasantly surprised at how good the story was too! The characters are written so well, and it’s a great little romance with enough conflict in it to keep it interesting. It isn’t a deep read, I pretty much figured out where the relationship was going, but the things that happen to the house and with the neighbors will keep you guessing! There are some parts will you will just have to laugh out loud! I recommend this book if you want to escape to the beach for a little romance!

KL Montgomery is an automatic one-click author for me. I am always finding things I can relate to in her characters. This book was not anything different and I loved every second of my time spent at the beach with Andrew and Sonnet. This is the perfect poolside read, if you are like me and don’t have access to a beach, otherwise, go read this at the beach!

“Tonight is one of those brilliant sunsets you never want to end.”

The Flip is the second book in the Romance in Rohoboth series, but it can be read as a standalone. I don’t know why you would though because it too is a five-star read! The Flip has the same ring of rom-com that is prevalent in a lot of KL Montgomery’s work. I found myself laughing a lot of the book. Who doesn’t need a little more laughter and love in their lives?

Andrew and Sonnet can’t stand each other, at least that is what they thought at first. High school rivals they were glad to be rid of each other after graduation. Well not for long. Penelope Vaughn has a different plan in mind. Upon her death she gifts her beachfront property to both of them. Penelope was Andrew’s great aunt. Her connection to Sonnet is that she used to be her neighbor that she went to and sought comfort from in times of need.

The house really needs some work. The two feel like they could manage to ‘flip’ the house together. They both could use the money and have the profits set to be used for their dreams. The process isn’t as easy as it sounds though for them. Can they work together to get through this or will they continue to bash heads at every turn? What will happen when they start to see more than an irritant and enemy in each other? Will they be willing to open up their hearts to the idea of love?

I loved Sonnet. Her classy but sassy attitude is very much like myself and I really connected to her on that level. I also loved that she was strong-willed and knew what she wanted. She didn’t back down ever to Andrew and I loved that. We need more strong positive women to read about and represent for the women of this world that aren’t afraid to live in the skin they are in.

"I roll my eyes. I figure by the end of the summer, my eye muscles will be the strongest ones in my entire body, they’re going to get such a work out from dealing with Andrew Clark."

“Boundaries, Andrew, ever heard of them?”

Andrew was also a fun guy to read about. He is strong willed as well, hence their clashing personalities. He also has a joker personality, and is funny and entertaining. His secret is that he is just a big teddy bear. A soft and sweet heart, and I loved that about him. He really grew on me.

I can’t wait to see what will come with the next book, Badge Bunny! I am sure whatever is to come will be my next obsession from KL Montgomery!!

“I know this look. And I know what it means. And I know what is happening. Every single one of my brain cells is telling me to step back, to turn my cheek, to purse my lips, but my thundering heartbeat is drowning out their pleas. Even my brain can be ignored.”

The Flip is the second book in the Romance in Rehobeth series by K.L. Montgomery, and it s a contemporary romance novel. The story is about a young man named Andrew or “Drew”, and a woman named Sonnet, who are both 29 years old, have known each other since they were young children, and used to hang out at Andrew's Great Aunt Penny's house after school and all day during the summer. Sonnet and her parents used to live next door to Penny until her parents sold the house and moved to Florida while Sonnet was in college. Aunt Penny recently died and left her house that is a couple of blocks from the Rehobeth Beach to Andrew and Sonnet. Andrew and Sonnet were “mortal enemies” when they were growing up. Andrew used to tease Sonnet all of the time, especially when his friends were with him. As they got older, Andrew developed a crush on Sonnet, but he would never have let her know about it. Sonnet was a bit overweight, had acne, frizzy hair, and wore thick glasses, back then but she has always been very smart. Sonnet was her high school class' valedictorian, with Drew coming in second by only a hair. Drew was naturally smart, never having to study, he was the quarterback on the football team, and he could make friends with just about anyone. On graduation day, as Sonnet was walking up to the podium to give her valedictorian speech, Andrew stuck his foot out and tripped Sonnet, causing her to fall across the stage. Sonnet was extremely embarrassed, but she got up and gave her speech, but she's hated him ever since. Andrew is not too fond of Sonnet either since she always has to be right. When he sees her in the lawyer's office he is shocked, one of the reasons being because she is so beautiful that he almost doesn't recognize her. Sonnet has lost a lot of weight, her hair is straight, her skin has cleared up, and she is wearing contact lenses. Sonnet recognizes Drew but he is not as fit as he had been when she last saw him, in fact he's actually put on a few pounds since high school. After the lawyer gives them each a key to Penny's house, they realize that if they both want to get the house sold and split the money between them, they must somehow learn to get along and restore this house together. Can Sonnet and Drew get along long enough to flip Aunt Penny's house?

I really enjoyed this novel from K.L. Montgomery. The chapters were written in Andrew and Sonnet's point of view which gives the reader a unique insight into what the characters are thinking. All of the characters that we meet in this book have depth and are interesting. The story is interesting, entertaining, is not predictable, and sometimes caused me to laugh out loud. I highly recommend this novel.

The Flip (Romance in Rehoboth Book 2)
By: K.L. Montgomery
5 out of 5 stars

The story The Flip (Romance in Rehoboth Book 2) by K.L. Montgomery is a contemporary romantic comedy book. This is the story of Andrew and Sonnet. These two have always been rivals. Their dislike for each other runs deep so it is quite a shock when they both are named co-heirs to property from a woman they both remember with great fondness. While they agree to be civil to each other while they are flipping the property, they soon find that there will have to be major repairs done in order for it to be sold. This will take time and they will be working together a lot. Will they be able to keep the truce that they agreed on? As time goes by they begin to talk to each other about their lives and their hopes for the future. Even though they were once rivals, will they start to see each other in a different way?

This is an amazing book by an amazing author. She has written a story that will touch your heart and will have you quickly turning pages to find out what happens next. The sarcasm and bantering back and forth between Andrew and Sonnet is hilarious. I have read one other story by the author and have enjoyed the characters that she created. I came to think of them as friends. I love the character of Sonnet. She is a sassy, independent woman who can hold her own. When she was younger she was driven to succeed and was very competitive about it. This leads to her rivalry with Andrew. Sonnet always believed that she always had to work harder than Andrew for her success. There was one person she could always turn to for advice and the courage to push forward. Now with her passing, Sonnet begins to remember all of the encouragement that she received. As time goes by she begins to see a different side of Andrew. With her feelings towards Andrew changing what does the future hold for both Andrew and Sonnet?

Andrew is quite surprised when he sees Sonnet again. She doesn’t look at all like the girl that he remembered from school. As they begin to work on the property and also to talk it becomes clear that his feelings toward Sonnet begin to change. Andrew is falling for her. They both have dreams for the future and the money they make from flipping this property will take them one step closer to those dreams. What will happen when the property goes on the market? Will they walk away from each other? Why did Penelope Vaughn really leave Andrew and Sonnet her property? Read this book to find out how what happens between Andrew and Sonnet. This is one book that you don’t want to miss out on.

The flip by K.L. Montgomery is a fun lighthearted read that will both amuse and entice you. Witty and full of banter it flows well throughout the whole story.

Sonnet Jayne has always had to prove herself. In school she had to prove that she was the best academically. That it didn't matter if she wasn't cool or even well liked. In college she had to prove that she was in the right place, on a course made up of 95% guys. And in her life in general she had to prove that she had what it takes to work at NASA even though she is female.
When Sonnet learns that her next door neighbour has passed away and left her house to a Sonnet on her will at first she is ecstatic. That is until she learns who the co-owner happens to be. Now it is time to prove to him that she isn't the same person she was back in high school, that she can't be bullied like he used to. And she has to prove to herself that this is the case.

Andrew Clarke had it all in high school, the good looks, the popularity and the good humour. Since leaving school he can't say he has honestly done much with his life. He finished college only to do nothing with the qualification afterwards. Instead he bar tends and dreams of opening up his own business. A dream that seems further away by the minute.
When he receives a letter telling him his Aunt Penny has left her house to him he knows this is his chance to make those dreams happen. That is until he learns that the co-owner is his arch nemesis from high school. Suddenly it all seems much more difficult.

In a bid to turn the house around and get it on the market Sonnet and Andrew must learn how to set aside their differences and the past and try to find a way of working together. Something they realise is much easier said than done. When it comes down to it, will they be able to work through their grievances, and in the process replace old grudges with something else?

Although I found this quite slow at first this book certainly picks up the pace. The banter between the two characters is brilliant and had me laughing the whole way through. The connection was evident right from the start, even if they didn't see it at first. Well written and entertaining this was a thoroughly enjoyable read!

“We were both nerds and battled each other for the valedictorian spot. Of course, I won that battle,” I wink.

“Well, maybe once you get this place fixed up, you’ll fall in love with it and decide to stay and start a family!”

No people, a glass of wine and a fresh book on my Kindle? It sounds like heaven to me.

I could have lounged in bed finishing the romance novel I started reading last night.

“What if we ordered pizza?”
“Pizza!” His green eyes lock onto mine like I’ve just said the magic word. “Wait, can you even eat pizza?”
I scoff at him. “I can eat whatever I want. But I choose not to eat decaying animal flesh,” I explain. “I know a place that will make a vegan pizza for me. They call it the Sonnet Special!”
“You have a pizza named after you?” he asks, chuckling. “Woe, a woman after my own heart! Let’s do this!”

Funny how those little memories slip into your mind when you’re least expecting them.

“Live a little, Sonnet. Don’t always use your head and play it safe. Sometimes you have to stretch yourself to experience something you’re unsure about. Even if you find out it’s not for you, you’ll learn so much more about yourself than if you stay safety tucked inside your bubble.”

Andrew and Sonnet were complete enemies in high school. Always in competition with each other. Ten years later, Andrew’s aunt put their names on the property in a coastal Delaware town. Sonnet lived next door to Aunt Penny and spend so much time over at Aunt Penny’s house. The beach cottage needs some serious work before going onto the market. Andrew and Sonnet agree to let the past be the past since they both will earn lots of money from selling the cottage. But with all the time that they are spending with each other, will the whole enemies-to-lovers become something more?

The banter between Andrew and Sonnet was fun to read. Their antic’s and the mishaps had me laughing. With spending so much time together, they were in a summer fling. But could the summer fling turn into something more after the summer? I enjoyed this book very much. 4 stars

By the end of the story, I can say I liked this book. Rating would really be about 3.5-3.75.

The start was really rough for me. I didn't much like the heroine--thought she was a bit of a spaz. The hero seemed like a totally immature jerk with very few redeeming qualities. But I'm glad I stuck with it. The characters had believable growth arcs from annoying twits into relatable human beings.

I did like that the heroine was a successful scientist and a vocal advocate for women in "unconventional" jobs. I liked that she was working on overcoming body-image issues, although I kinda felt like that thread was not quite tied off by the end.

The premise was cute, and I had high expectations after reading the blurb. I think the pair's petty bickering at the beginning made me uncomfortable, and I'm not sure why I expected to like them both at the beginning, given that premise. But again, I saw real and believable growth as they learned to work together and inevitably fell in love. I can say I did not see how exactly it was all going to work out in the end. I had my suspicions, but I didn't have the fine details worked out.

The work on the house felt a little glossed over and the timeline was a little fuzzy, making me question whether they could really accomplish all their goals in their timeline, but then again, who wants to read about all the little details of flipping a house, not to mention, hey, it's fiction. The ratio of details to the romance was pretty much spot on.

All in all, I'll say it again, I'm glad I stuck with the story beyond the first few chapters, as it turned into an entertaining read.

Oh, I shelved this as a clean romance, because the sex scenes are all sweet, behind "closed doors" - but be aware there is some foul language including a fair amount of "f-bombs." I'd rate it PG 13 for Language alone.

Book Review: The Flip
Author: K.L. Montgomery
FIVE STARS
K.L. Montgomery is an author that I started reading over this last year and let me just say I am IN LOVE with her books. Her body positive points of view and her real as life characters. There are no perfect faces, bodies, careers, lives. This is all plain and simple REAL life. I feel like I could be next door neighbors to the characters in the K.L. Montgomery books. These books are appropriate for anyone to read as there are no sexual encounters described in detail. Yes she hints at it but you do not get the "full frontal" assault that you may from someone else.
In all of K.L. Montgomery's books you laugh. There are solemn moments and moments that make you reflect, but there is most definately laughter. I think this is one of the reasons that K.L. Montgomery has fast become one of my go to authors when I am having a rough day. The characters can laugh at themselves and their friends and still go on like you would any normal day.
Be warned you will get sucked into Flip. The story of Andrew and Sonnet and how they are brought back together is sweet and sentimental. Dear old Aunt Penny really did pull a fast one on the two of them. Left the house by Penny, Sonnet and Andrew have to figure out what they are going to do with it now. The decisions they make and the steps they take. The things they end up doing for each other. It is suprising the way things turn out. I am in love with them.
This is the second book in the Romance in Rehoboth. The first book was Fat Girl, another great book and the first book I read by K.L. Montgomery.
WONDERFUL book and wonderful author. I look forward to many more!!

The Flip (Romance in Rehoboth Book 2)
By KL. Montgomery

Definitely a five-star read.
When Andrew’s Aunt Penny passed away she left her house to her beloved nephew and the girl who used to live next door to her Sonnet. Now Aunt Penny in her death must have been up to something as she knew that as children Andrew and Sonnet were not what you would call friends, in fact they didn’t like each other. Andrew was quite excited to have been left his Aunt’s house that was until his father on reading the letter from the lawyer mentioned that there was a co-heir. When Andrew found out the co -heir was Sonnet he was not happy. Sonnet was not that happy about it either when Andrew walked into the lawyer’s office.
Neither had any intentions of keeping the house and now they had to get through the whole of summer together renovating this house. Each questioned themselves how this was going to be accomplished without fighting their way through summer. Until they entered the house they thought this was going to be a quick fix then sell the house and not see each other again. That was until they entered the house to see how much junk Aunt Penny had gathered over the years, nor did they know what they were going to do with it. Nor had they noticed that the roof and balcony needed fixing an expense they didn’t want or need.
At the beginning Andrew and Sonnet got on as well as they did at school, but as the weeks passed they seemed to turn a corner and instead of smart mouthing each other, fell into a pattern of speaking nicely.
Question is can they keep this nice talk up until the house is sold?

The Flip by K.L. Montgomery
5 stars

The Flip is the second book in the Romance in Rehoboth series, but is a standalone, as it follows entirely different people. Told in dual POV of Andrew, Drew, and Sonnet. This was a fun, light read that had me laughing and rooting for what was developing between these childhood enemies.
Sonnet and Andrew have always had a rocky shared path in life. In school they were neck and neck for valedictorian, and in life Sonnet was always at Andrews Aunts house instead of in her own home, stealing his aunts attention. When they both receive a letter stating they are co-owners of Aunt Penny's beach house, they aren't looking forward to what lies ahead.
As Sonnet and Andrew come to know who each other are now years after high school, they are surprised at how their lives have taken different turns than what they expected. Coming to an agreement to get the house done to sell by summers end, they start a friends with benefits relationship. As the summer goes on and we meet some pretty eclectic neighbors, we start to see how feelings are now involved despite the rules of " don't fall in love " .
Through all the ups and downs associated with the house and them selves, how will the summer end? Whose dreams come true or can they come true for both of them? Who ever said enemies would never get along?
I really loved this book and I felt like these two could have been any 2 people on the street. They stayed true to themselves but also helped each other along the way. Great job and can't wait to read more from K.L. Montgomery

Andrew and Sonnet grew up together, competing for the best grades and awards, while hating each other. He never failed to make her a joke, so she became evil towards him. Now ten years later, they are joint heirs to a property in Bethany Beach, Delaware, after Penelope Vaughn dies, who was Andrew's great aunt, and Sonnet's favorite neighbor growing up. They decide to repair it so they can flip it, but in order to do that, they will have to work together. But the job becomes a home improvement nightmare, so will these two enemies be able to pull of the flip without killing each other?! The Flip was a fun read that made me laugh more than once. But, it did take me a bit to warm up to these two characters, however once I did, the fun had me turning the pages quickly. See Andrew still isn't serious, and his life shows it to a point. But Sonnet works for Nasa as an astrophysicist, so she's very controlled. And while Andrew hasn't taken care of himself very well, Sonnet has become hot, a fact that he can't help but notice, so the sparks started flying. The colorful cast of secondaries were highly entertaining, and kept me laughing hard, especially those neighbors. And the house disasters had me laughing even harder, (sink holes and exotic animals had me spitting my drink out) as this is the kind of stuff that would happen to me. I believe this is the first time that I've read K.L. Montgomery, and I'm intrigued by her talented writing style, so I cannot wait to read more by her! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This book was a great read and I completely got lost in Sonnet and Andrews story.
I loved the characters. Both strong independent people thriving to be the best.

Andrew and Sonnet met when they were just kids, going to the same school and both spending time with Andrew's Aunt Penny at her colorful home. They never really had a friendship though, both in competition to e the best.

Years later when they are both searching for their own dreams...they find themselves in their worst nightmare.

With the death of Aunt Penny they are shocked to find that she has left her house to them both. With nothing else for it they have to work together to FLIP the house and get it on the market as soon as possible.

Whilst working together, throws up disasters and setbacks...It also brings them closer together.
Sonnet is shocked to see how Drew has changed and she decides to put the past behind her an help him out.
Drew finds himself questioning the past and when Sonnet surprises him at every turn, he finds himself seeing her in a totally different light.

This couple are drawn to one another and soon the desire is to much to ignore. They decide to have a little fun whilst they are together, because come the end of summer, Sonnet will be gone. But not all is as it seems and soon lines get blurred and feelings come into play.

What will become of their dreams and what does the future hold????

The Flip by K.L Montgomery is the second book in the Romance In Rehoboth Series, and it's SO good! You can definitely read this as a standalone, but I would recommend reading the first book in the series, just to have some background information and it's really good! One thing K.L Montgomery's books always include, are strong characters. I absolutely love how she makes each character different and makes them relatable to the readers. I finished this book in one afternoon, simply because I couldn't put it down. It was an amazing 5 stars!

Andrew and Sonnet have been rivals at literally everything since high school. They couldn't stand each other, and after graduation, they were more than happy to go separate ways, but now more than ten years later, they're both named heirs to a beachfront property by Penelope Vaughn. Penelope use to be Sonnet's neighbor, a woman she would confide in and talk to whenever she needed someone to listen. Penelope also happens to be Andrew's great aunt. So what will they do? Will they put their differences aside to flip the house, and move one? Soon Sonnet starts to see Andrew in a different light, and Andrew starts to have feelings for her. They butt heads because they are each strong willed people and know what they want. So did Penelope have something bigger in mind, when she threw those two together? What happens when things don't exactly go as planned?

I absolutely loved this book, and I love how both of these characters were strongly written. I would recommend this book to everyone who loves K.L Montgomery!

The Flip is the second book in the Romance in Rehoboth Series by K.L. Montgomery. Though this is the second book in the series, but can be read as a standalone novel. The Flip is a funny romantic comedy that will have you laughing.

Andrew and Sonnet have been rivals going all the way back to their days in elementary school. They did not really care for each other back then and through high school due to how competitive they both are. Then they were brought together by Andrew’s Aunt Penny who adopted Sonnet as her niece. They both met up after many years at the lawyer's office to find out they were both left Aunt Penny’s house.

Andrew and Sonnet are both definitely different from their high school days. But knowing they are now left Aunt Penny’s house they will have to get along and work together. They do face many setbacks while working together. It seems these setbacks may be a good thing for them both. Andrew and Sonnet never seem to have a dull moment renovating the house Aunt Penny left them. Will Andrew and Sonnet be able to put all their differences behind them and become a team renovating the house to flip it?

The Flip by K. L. Montgomery is a fun, laugh out loud read that you will not want to put down. You will want to read it in one sitting. K. L. Montgomery does a great job developing the characters of Andrew and Sonnet, and I loved how she developed the characters in the neighborhood. Looking forward to see what K. L. Montgomery has for us in the next next book in the Romance in Rehoboth Series.

The Flip
By K.L. Montgomery
5 ‘flipping’ stars!!
I LOVED this book! It’s one of those books that you can’t stop reading once you pick it up. This is the second book that I have read by this author and again she didn’t disappoint. She has an amazing ability to drag you into the lives of her characters. I loved the first book in this series and I loved this one just as much. It can be read as a standalone but I would also highly recommend reading the first one too.
Whilst I loved the plot and its uniqueness it was the characters that made it for me! Sonnet and Andrew were just fantastic together. I loved their history, the fact that they really didn’t like each other but were forced to work together on this house. I also loved that the story was told from both Sonnet and Andrew’s POV.
Sonnet was a great female lead, she was strong, independent but you could tell she was still hurting from all the nasty comments Andrew used to make about her when they were younger. I loved her fierce competitive side and it’s easy to see this is what has helped her succeed in life.
Andrew is one of those characters who we probably all know – popular boy at school who made it his mission to make your life as unbearable as possible but now he is older he begins to regret those times in his life. I really liked Andrew as a character and loved that he still wanted to annoy Sonnet but in a much friendlier way!
Overall I loved this story and think that it is the perfect summer read! I highly recommend it and you won’t be disappointed!!

A great read about moving on. When his great aunt Penny leaves him a house, Andrew Clark is excited beyond belief. But when he discovers she also left the property to his high school enemy Sonnet Jayne, he is reluctant. With an old house with several problems that need resolving to sell it, can they put the past behind them and work together?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn't put down. Well developed characters like Sonnet going after her dreams whilst standing up for herself or Drew struggling to find his way but still being hilarious. the use of opposites between their dispositions worked well and was written brilliantly.
I also loved the visual detail throughout the novel with a sense of colour in Penny's house and vases and wallpaper with small details to emphasise the strange tastes of an old lady. I also adored the natural imagery throughout the novel with the beach and the sunsets in a sense of vivid beauty of nature and especially with the storm and the lightning in colour and danger as if you were actually there. the simple setting of a house and a neighbourhood worked well and was written perfectly with the sense of a small community. Additionally, the flashbacks to high school events worked well and didn't disrupt from the narrative of the present. The use of different perspectives worked well to display both sides of events in the past and present and was easy to follow. Overall, a enjoyable read and I would give it five stars.
