Eden Butler is a writer of contemporary, fantasy, and romantic suspense novels and the nine-times great-granddaughter of an honest-to-God English pirate. This could explain her affinity for rule breaking and rum.

When she's not writing or wondering about her possibly Jack Sparrowesque ancestor, Eden patiently waits for her Hogwarts letter, reads, and spends too much time in her garden perfecting her green thumb while waiting for the next New Orleans Saints Super Bowl win.

She is currently living under teenage rule alongside her husband in southeast Louisiana.

When I saw this book was coming out, I was really excited and the blurb just made it even better. I love Eden Butler's Thin Love series...she writes a really good romance and I love all the Hawaiian elements.

I was really looking forward to this and then...there was Kona! All I kept thinking was he just had to be in the spotlight again! Don't get me wrong, I quite enjoyed Kona's parts but ...now it sets this book up to be compared to that one and there is really no comparison.

That doesn't mean I didn't like Keilen (who just happens to be Kona's cousin) because he seemed just as yummy...not a football player but a heart surgeon, so how could you go wrong? And there is a high school and college attraction and the requisite time apart so all the elements are there.

description

I think one of the problems is that this book just seemed short. Amazon says 272 pages but my kindle ended a lot sooner (weird how that happens). I think I would have enjoyed it more if the relationship between Keilen and Lily had been expanded on.

Lily has crushed on Keilen forever and when she comes home before her last finals of college, they finally ~almost~ get together but then tragedy strikes and cue the time apart.

Fifteen years later and her niece getting engaged cause Lily to return to Hawaii. And guess what? Her niece's fiancé just happens to be Keilen's cousin!

This causes Keilen and Lily to address their relationship and there were some really sweet parts and just a bit of angst. Unfortunately, there's a really skeevy guy from Lily's work that throws a wrench into things. And wouldn't you know it? It's Kona to the rescue...again!

I was happy with the way things ended but again, I was just left wanting more!

I've heard so many good things about this author that I needed to see for myself. I now that I need to trust in others opinions but my mojo is seeing to believe it, and I'm so happy that I took this chance.
Eden Butler has an intense and breathtaking writting that will make you feel the story so intensely that you'll lost your breath.
Fall is her latest release and tells Lily's story.
Lily was the shy girl with a crush for the football star that didn't notice her. She thought that behind the fame was hidden a beautiful and truthful boy with a kind heart.
Life had been hard on her and certain events changed the way she sees love and happiness. But sometimes we need to believe that everything happens for a reason.
She was determined to leave her life behind and embrace on her college life, graduate and becoming the best lawyer. She overcome everything but she had lost her joy in that journey.
Could she have forgotten the promises she had made? Can she be happy again? Can she believe again in love and happiness? Can she find it?
What a rollercoaster ride this was. I simply love a book that can steal my breath away.
The plot is so intense and sometimes complex and that made the reading more appealing and more meaningful. I loved the fact that this book let us now the past as well as the present and doing so we can understand the story way better because every question that could pop into our heads could be answered.
The journey the characters took left me breathless and sometimes anxious. But I loved every single word of it.
Oh Eden the way you wrote this book made me fall in love with your writing and I can't wait for your next book.

Fall is my very first book from Eden Butler. However it definitely won't be my last.

When Fall starts out Lily is back home in Hawaii on spring break. She runs into her high school crush, Keilen. Their chemistry is SMOKING! And just when you think she'll finally get the guy she's always wanted, BAM! Life throws a curve ball. And Lily is left broken.

Several years later Lily is a lawyer in a law firm in Louisiana. When she goes home for a visit to check on her niece, she once again runs into her first crush, Keilen.
The intense passion and chemistry is still present. But is it enough? Can Lily overcome her fears?

Eden Butler gave us a beautifully crafted original love story, with some suspense, and a touch of drama. I look forward to reading more from her in the future.

Like a tropical storm, this story builds from a quiet tale in a bar to a tempest that pulls the reader along, getting tossed about.
The setting of Hawaii is as alive and multidimensional as a character in the story. As a reader I fell in love with the place, not able to resist it's charm.

“I suppose falling is fine when you’ve got someone to catch you.”

My heart is bursting with all kinds of emotions right now. This story is raw, powerful and oh so amazing.

“There was too much sensation, too much emotion wrapped up in him, in that smile, in the warm gaze he moved over her face.”

I felt so connected with the characters in this book. But especially with Lily and Keilen. I cried when they did, I laughed when they did, and I fell in love just as they did. They are truly perfect for each other. They are so honest and so real with each other that is impossible to read about their interactions and not feel anything.

This story is incredible. As soon as I read the first pages I knew I wouldn’t be capable of putting it down without finishing it first. And that’s exactly what I did. I read and read and read until I was done. But truth is, even though I reached the end of it, my brain and my heart didn’t catch up. Because the words in this story are still running through me and I don’t know for how long they will. Because everything in this book gripped me and wouldn’t let go.

“I knew the second I kissed you that one night would have never been enough for me.”

A captivating and beautiful story with lots of love and passion.

This was my first Eden Butler book, and I really enjoyed it! The writing flowed well, and the characters and their emotions jumped off the pages.

Events were constantly keeping Lily and Keilen apart. When Lily finally has extended time off from work, she goes back home for her niece but running into Keilen is inevitable. They finally have time to explore the attraction, but Lily can't escape her mainland troubles. I figured out kind of early on who was behind the "issues" at the law firm, but I had no idea how far this person would go to ruin Lily. Fall kept my attention and had me loving every single character!

This book felt different than all of the other books I've read. It's a story of two people who have a connection but life keeps getting in the way.

"You still scare me, Lily but damn, that fear tastes sweet."

"Time makes us strangers to ourselves."

This was my very first Eden Butler book and it will not be my last! The book starts out with Lily and Keilen shortly during college at a bar and the chemistry is amazing. Because if a bet Lily almost gets the one guy she's wanted since high school by as soon tragedy strikes and she loses her chance, fast foward several years later and Lily is finally back in Hawaii and they are reunited. The chemistry again is amazing and they are brought together through some unexpected circumstances. Lily's life isn't turning out how she wanted but Keilen is the one thing that goes right. The story line flows, conversations are real, and emotions are palpable. I would highly recommend this book! I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

Eden Butler and second chance love - winning combination

I love reading books by Eden Butler and FALL was SIMPLY EXCEPTIONAL. Beautifully written and full of many intense moments that you will feel your heartbeat continually rising and lowering with each scene. It's a book that will certainly test the gamut of your emotions.

The story may have started off slowly, but to me, that was perfect. It continued to build at its own pace to reach a conclusion that will be always remembered. Lily and Keilen, to me, were the perfect characters, they had their flaws but they were also strong, strong enough to last a separation since college, until they were adults, still in love with each other.

This is a true story of second chance love. One that will pull at your heartstrings, have you angry at who is trying to "ruin" Lily at work, and finally cheer at the final outcome. I strongly recommend this book to those who love second chance romances. This is Eden Butler at her finest.

Keilen and Lily a perfectly addicting story that takes us through an array of emotions. Passion, love and second chances, are what Eden is best at. You become emotionally attached to the characters in this book eager to know how the story unfolds.
We are found engulfed in chaos of a stalked, a career ruined and love lost and then found again. The perfect combination for a book that will live in your heart for a long time.

This was the first book I've read from this author and it definitely will not be the last. This story was such an emotional read with the heartbreak and tragedy that Lily suffers. She has a hard time believing and trusting in love but the person who can change her mind is the one person she has loved from afar. You wont be able to pull yourself away from this beautiful story of broken promises but getting those second chances!

Another amazing book by Eden Butler! Once I started this book I couldn't put it down. I felt such heartbreak for Lily and everything she goes through. I can understand why she is so wary of finding love. But how can you not fall for Keilen! The setting of Hawaii and the secondary characters add great depth to the story. I was a little confused by the POV's from Lincoln and wished it had been Keilen instead or just Lily's throughout but I highly recommend this and all of Eden Butler's books.

Fall is the first book that I've read by Eden Butler, and it was quickly apparent that I have been missing out! The emotional journey that I was taken on was heart wrenching, and I found it hard to catch my breath throughout the whole story. I fell in love with Lily from the beginning, and while she went through things that broke her, she never gave up. And while I recognized that Keilen was perfect for her, I still had a few moments where I wanted to shake him, as I had her back completely. However, I couldn't argue with the insane chemistry that they had, as it shot sparks out of my kindle right & left that were so powerful that not even all of the years that went by, couldn't extinguish them. Eden Butler has a very talented writing style that shone through, as not only did she pull out my emotions, but her beautiful descriptions of Hawaii transported me there. A touch of suspense, loads of drama, and a colorful cast of secondaries rounded this masterpiece out perfectly. I CANNOT WAIT to read more by her! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

4* read.

My first book by this author and a real emotional read and an emotional rollercoaster of a journey. A complex story with relateable charcters it does make for a great read.

The story was engaging and kept my attention till the very last page, the main characters Lily and Keilen were hot together and I could feel the chemistry between them straight away. My only problem was I got a bit frustrated with Lily at times, finding myself screaming at my kindle for her to open her eyes, but thats what makes a good read when as a reader you feel emotions like that.

A beautiful, emotional, well wrote book, I look forward to more from this author.

Sometimes you have to fall & get back up to really appreciate what life has to offer. This book takes you on a whirl wind of emotion from past to present getting to know Keilen and Lily. My heart broke a million times for the trials & tribulations that Lily had to endure. Just when you think she gets a break, life happens again. I love the love the two has & this book was absolutely beautiful at times. I've always adored Mrs. Butler's writing & this is no exception.

This story has a sweet beginning showing the way Lily and Keilen are finally connecting during time off from college-only to have that dashed after tragedy strikes. When the unthinkable happens Lily must make painful decisions, not only for her own future, but for her niece as well; including leaving Keilen behind. The introduction to the characters was certainly intriguing, nicely played against a well-planned series of flashbacks. The chemistry between these two in such a short time didn't feel rushed, it was effortless and I was swept away into the storyline.

I was kind of bummed when the narrative switched to present time and Lily is living alone in New Orleans. She's overworked, lonely and homesick for O'ahu. She's lonely for Zinnia, and Kieran too. Throw in a shady associate at her law firm, a stalker and several packets of threatening photos; now Lily is forced into some PTO. Zinnia calls just in time to share some big news, prompting Lily to make an unplanned trip back to O'ahu.

Once back in O'ahu Lily meets Dr. K, Zinnia's mentor from the local hospital. Surprise, Surprise-it's Keilen Rivers, MD. Sparks fly immediately for the pair, but complications abound. Several of these scenes just sizzled, the chemistry between Lily and Keilen is that intense. There was strong writing with fleshed out characters, thoughtful details and an unexpected backdrop of O'ahu life, which I found fascinating and very much enjoyed. All in all it was a superbly written book with ups and downs that finally finds our twice-thwarted lovers in their own HEA.

Alright so, I can probably name off a couple dozen people that will absolutely love this book. It has all the feels. This story is very well written, and the characters are truly relatable. I absolutely loved Keilen and Zee, but lily didn't cut it for me. I understand that she has had a lot of loss in her life, and that she always had to work harder than everyone else, but I felt she was constantly throwing herself pity parties. It irritated me a little bit. This story was depressing and frustrating, and not for my tastes, personally. I can acknowledge that it's a fantastic story, and that the author did well spinning this tale. My opinion reflects my personal preferences only, and not the author's ability, or this story. In fact the author did a beautiful job telling this story. I happen to be an anti-romantic that likes to read romantic stories, I know it doesn't make sense. There is a HEA, and the angst is massive. I would definitely recommend this book to others. It's a drama and it settles around fate, hope, and heartbreak. I can see this book becoming a best seller. Overall, I was satisfied with the ending, and content with how this story was told. I would also like to point out that this cover is absolutely beautiful!

Like a tropical storm, this story builds from a quiet tale in a bar to a tempest that pulls the reader along, getting tossed about.
The setting of Hawaii is as alive and multidimensional as a character in the story. As a reader I fell in love with the place, not able to resist it's charm.

“This place, Lil, you know it better than me, it gets inside you. It’s a living, breathing entity that can’t be quieted. You could travel a million miles. You could put as much space between yourself and the past and it still won’t silence the voice inside you.”
“What voice?”
“The one that tells you where you belong.”

Lily had moved from her birthplace in Hawaii to New Orleans and got her degree and started her career. She is still running from guilt and sadness and death, but it always seemed to follow her.

"There was the pain that lay waiting in Hawaii, where her life had more than once been destroyed by death."

I love the way this story unfolds, only giving the reader little hints of the story as it goes along. It kept me guessing all the way through and at times I found myself holding my breath for the next discovery on the next page!

“I suppose falling is fine when you’ve got someone to catch you.”

I've just recently discovered this author, but I'm completely in love with her beautiful, lyrical writing style and can't wait to read more!!!

This is my first read by this author but it will not be my last.

Lily returns home to Hawaii after someone was stalking her at home and it escalated to them sending fake pictures to her work. The real question is, who is doing it and why. I love watching that story develop throughout the book.

The other reason is that her niece called and told her she got engaged, what better way to escape then to go "home". Keilen and Lily have noticed each other forever...she had a crush on him and he always noticed her watching him. An encounter years before almost had them being together until tragedy struck. She moved to New Orleans and is now a lawyer out there.

But once she is back in Hawaii can she forget about her work and can she forget about her feelings for Keilen AGAIN? The memories for her are very overwhelming, but can Keilen prove that she can be happy on the island?

I love both Keilen and Lily throughout the entire story. I loved all of the secondary characters also, even ones that may be bad at the end....You are anxious to finish just so that you know what happens and why and how everything turns out. That is a good thing, you won't want to put it down. I highly recommend this read.

This story is about Lily Campbell and Keilen Rivers and the possible love that they might have had when they were in their 20s but life interrupted that possibility. Ten years later, Lily is an attorney in New Orleans and Keilen is an attending doctor specializing in neurology in Oahu! Lily never thought she would go back home since she felt that there was nothing there but pain for her. However, a forced "vacation" from work and a call from her niece with unexpected news brings Lily back to Oahu.

Lily finds out that Zee's (her niece) fiance, Ano is Keilen's cousin and that they are living in a house on Keilen's property. And Keilen now owns Lily's childhood home. Lily originally came to talk Zee out of marriage since she is young and is working hard to become a doctor. However, she sees the love Zee and Ano have for each other and it reminds her of her brother and his wife (Zee's deceased parents). Lily and Keilen run into each other and Lily finds out that her childhood crush for Keilen is still there. There is something strong in their attraction for each other and it had been there a long, long time. Time doesn't seem to have deepen that strong attraction but Lily doesn't believe in things turning out good in her personal life. Keilen is determined to make her think differently.

Lily and Keilen finally act on their attraction and Lily starts to believe that she could have a happy life. However, a co-worker who isn't who he really seems could ruin the happiness that Lily believed she could never have.

This story is takes you through Lily's life and the hardship she had to endure to make her the person she is today. It also makes you root for Lily to finally let go of the past and live her life with someone who can make her happy but at times, I wanted to just smack her upside the head and tell her to just look what's in front of her! I enjoyed this story about Lily and Keilen and hope to see more of them in future books?

Fall by Eden Butler - 5 stars

This is the first book that showed up on my TBR list by Eden Butler. I was excited to read it as I've read great reviews about her previous series. I have added her other books to my TBR and will make sure they stay near the top of the pile.

Lily Campbell is a girl who has grown up. She's left her little island and come back after achieving career goals, but not everything has gone her way. Keilen Rivers is someone she was aware of growing up. "he existed in a world where no one was good enough, strong enough, beautiful enough to touch him" sheesh, that's a lot to live up to. (and believe me he does). "my daydreams, the one where I kissed you, were nothing like the real thing."

“I suppose falling is fine when you’ve got someone to catch you.”

Fall is a complex story with so many emotions and feelings it left me with a "book hangover" and I had to sit with a bit to digest all of its beauty. It's a well developed story with interesting characters and locations.

I highly recommend this story.

I think this is the first book I've read by Eden Butler but I can guarantee it won't be the last.

This was a very sweet, sometimes sad, second chance love story. Lily left home many years earlier, then while she's there on a visit tragedy strikes and she leaves again, leaving behind almost everything she loves, this time with her young niece and for good as far as she is concerned. Flash forward a dozen or so years and once again, Lily's life is falling apart. When she gets a voicemail from her niece she speeds towards Hawaii, fully expecting her stay to be a short one.

Keilen Rivers is not my typical hero. But there was something about him that was absolutely entrancing! When "the one that got away" shows up again he seems determined to move heaven and earth to convince Lily that this time she wants to stay. Just when things start to get interesting assumptions are made and accusations are thrown. Can Keilen and Lily find their way past the things standing in their path? Will Lily remember that there is nothing more important than ohana?

Eden's writing shines in this new romance. From old friends (Thin Love Series characters) to new book boyfriends...Keilen... :) you're sure to fly through this one and breathe a lovely sigh at the end.

These two have somewhat known each other for awhile, but things sure heat up whenever Lily returns home to the islands. Can Keilen and Lily find their way back into each other's arms, where it seems they belong? Or will a threat from Lily's life in New Orleans follow her to the islands, causing havoc for both of them?

Don't hesitate to give Eden a shot with this romance! You won't be sorry!

“FALL is a throwback to the beautiful, haunting quality found in Butler’s THIN LOVE series, with special appearances by some of those characters. Eden’s romance writing ability is a fluid, living entity, a talent that breathes life and love onto every page.” Trish F. Leger, author of the Amber Druid Series.

4.5 Dazzling Stars! This is my first read from Eden Butler and I can say that I really, really enjoyed this book! It was a beautiful story from beginning to end filled with such emotion. It had a little steam, a little heartbreak, and so much more. Lily has been through so much in her life, having to raise her niece and move away from the only home she knew to do it. She keeps missing opportunities to be with the man she loves and their timing was just never right. Keilen was amazing and it only took me a few minutes to fall in love with him. He's just a good man, through and through... I couldn't get enough of him. My only grievance with Lily was that I felt like she always had an excuse. I felt like screaming at her a few times because she couldn't see what was perfect right in front of her face. Without giving too much away, throw in a little more suspense and you won't be able to put this book down!

I fell in love with this story. The way it was written, the scenery, the characters, the adventure and heartache.

The book flowed beautifully, taking you through Lily's years. Her life plagued with death was a constant reminder of how she would never have happiness, so her job and her niece became her life. But when both are at an impasse, fate steps in. Love was always in the distance, until it was right in front of her. Keilen WAS always there, the history and passion between them is remarkable and palpable. But can Lily move forward? Her niece, Zee keeps things light and funny. They have a bond that is special, besides being family, they have learned, laughed, and struggled together. I truly became attached to the main characters and felt as if I was right there with them.

A beautiful, stunning story about love, heartbreak, and forgiveness. A true reminder that sometimes love is worth the fall.

This is the first book I have read from Eden Butler and if this is her style of writing it certainly won't be the last. This is a beautifully written story , it flowed so well and in a way that had you captivated, devouring each word and unable to put the book down.

Lily was such a beautifully strong woman, she has survived the unimaginable. She has known Keilen a long time, she had a crush on him when she was younger, now she is back home can she finally find happiness with him?

There is so much emotion through out this book it seeps of the pages and under your skin. Its also packed with some drama, as someone is stalking Lily, which is why she ended up coming home.
