'You'd give them a veto!?' Gina Miller sparks fury as she continues bid to REVERSE Brexit

ANTI-BREXIT campaigner Gina Miller was shredded during a heated clash with a Conservative MP after she hinted that Brexit could be revered.

MP Bernard Jenkin blasts Gina Miller 'You'd give them a veto'

Bernard Jenkin thanked the campaigner for her intervention in the Brexit process which meant that Article 50 had to be passed in Parliament before the UK started formal withdrawal of the EU.

Speaking on Sky News, the Tory MP snapped at Ms Miller after she suggested that Brexit could be reversed.

The anti-Brexit campaigner criticised the Conservative’s negotiating position as she claimed the UK could seek “reformed” membership of the EU.

She said: “Whatever happens in the future, we cannot go back to the relationship we had with the EU.

Gina Miller was blasted after she claimed that Brexit could still be reversed

“That is something that people are unhappy about. There are lots of issues with our membership of the EU which have caused angst in the UK for many decades.

“If we were to remain, if that was an option on the table, it has to be reformed membership, we cannot go back to where we were.”

The Tory MP insisted that the UK must be willing to walk away without a deal.

“But what kind of negotiating position will we have if we are simply not ready to leave in March 2019,” he raged.

I can’t see how someone can say it is set in stone

Ms Miller argued this was a bad way to begin negotiations before the Tory MP fired back at her.

He said: “What so you would give them a veto over everything? Oh come on.

“We are negotiating but the more ready we are the stronger position we are. In a long term this is still a very good idea.

“We might not see much plan because it is going to be a negotiation behind closed doors.”

Ms Miller added that she could not see any reason why the Brexit process could not be reversed.

She said: “We can’t predict the future but from a very practical point of view why could not not be reversed?

“It would require withdrawal of the notification letter and an act of Parliament and the other 27 member states agree.

“We need to go forwards to see where we end up. But at that stage it must be logical that we vote on all options including remaining and at that stage we would know if we can remain or not.

“I can’t see how someone can say it is set in stone, [how can] one referendum sets everything in stone because an election does not set everything in stone.”
