Her foster daughters Claire Novak (Kathryn Newton) and Alex Jones (Katherine Ramdeen) will be by her side, training and trying to find their place in the world.

Designated Survivor's Clark Backo has been cast as Patience, a high school over-achiever whose life is turned upside down when she discovers she's a powerful psychic.

She's being hunted by dark forces who want her power, which she inherited from her grandmother Missouri Moseley and turns to Jody for help.

Sheriff Donna Hanscum (Briana Buckmaster) will be able to help Jody as well, which will be handy.

Supernatural left fans devastated as it killed off two major characters at the end of last season, but Jared Padalecki might have let slip that one of them could be returning.

The series will be launched through a 'backdoor pilot' in Supernatural season 13.

Supernatural returns to The CW on Thursday, October 12.
