Two of the four people who have pleaded guilty in the death of a Minnetonka High School student have been sentenced.

Davonte Bobo, 24, was sentenced to almost 21 years in prison for second-degree murder and first-degree aggravated robbery. Vincent Reanell Harris, 30, will serve nearly eight years for first-degree aggravated robbery.

Samantha Burnette, 16, was killed Sept. 25, 2016, in an armed robbery in the Payne-Phalen neighborhood.

She had fallen asleep while hanging out and driving around with her older sister and two friends. One of the friends, 29-year-old Kalisa Chardale Smith, said she had to meet with someone and ran off from the car. She returned with three men, according to court documents. Smith was accused of arranging the robbery.

“Give me everything,” one of the men reportedly told Burnette’s sister, Brittany Rock, as he held a gun to her head. When Rock said she didn’t have anything, the man grabbed her phone and pistol whipped her. Rock fled the car.

Burnette woke up, saw what was going on, and smashed a liquor bottle over the gunman’s head, according to court documents. Two of the men then shot Burnette. Then they drove off with Smith in the car.

Rock found Burnette lying in the alley and held her as she died a few minutes later.

Harris and Bobo were both sentenced earlier this month in Ramsey County District Court.

The other two, 33-year-old Christopher Rayshawn Calloway and Smith, will be sentenced later this summer.
