Change of Hearts #2

Change in Strategy

I knew this internship would change my life...

Thirty days ago, I received an internship with a design firm in L.A.
One day ago, I kissed a hot businessman in a swanky bar and then left him with a fake name and number.
Today, that sexy stranger is my new boss, and he’s not too happy when he finds out my real identity.

But that doesn’t change the fire that lit between us and now I have six weeks of trying to resist Brody Jensen.

He might be out of my league, but I’d be out of my mind not to give in to the chemistry threatening to consume us.

I know Brody is breaking the rules for me, but he’s not the only one.

Because I swore I’d never fall for the type of man my mother always warned me about— a man who is married to his job.

Too late.

I love a sweet swoon worthy romance that heats the soul and warms the heart!

Brody and Peyton definitely have heat and man can they light up the night when they come together, but before that can happen Peyton needs to overcome her fears and take a chance not only on herself but in life!

I love how very real Sierra’s characters are! They face issues that we all deal with and can easily identify with, but more than anything they are characters who just want to be loved for who they are and that’s something I think we all have felt!

Brody is a man who has sought acceptance and gone for what he’s wanted! He doesn’t take a backseat to anyone and has carved his way in life, that is until he meets Peyton! Nothing in his life makes sense he just knows he has to have her and has to find a way to keep her! Peyton is flighty and for good reason! She’s been let down her whole life and doesn’t trust others easily! When her world collided with Brody she starts seeing what she’s missed and takes a risk bigger than anything she could ever imagine! Here’s to praying the demons of the past stay where they belong!

A heartwarming romance that is a definite must read this spring!

I LOVE a great office romance and boy, did Sierra Hill deliver! Change in Strategy is the story of Brody and Peyton who had instant chemistry that was off the charts! I love how real these characters feel, how deeply invested you get in their story. The banter, the work/personal relationship and the sexual chemistry between Brody and Peyton will have you reading this book from start to finish! I truly enjoyed this story and highly recommend it!

I have this issue where I find it hard not to like a favourite authors work. I try to figure out what is wrong with me that I didn't like it. And to be honest with the current pandemic feeling like the beginning of a Stephen king novel I'm putting half of it down to that. Because damn is the world distracting.

And to be honest I went into this with a lot of trepidation because I really didn't like the first book. I didn't hate the characters in this book, I just didn't connect with either of them. But like I said I didn't hate it and I did like the story I just had moments where the world distracted me.

I honestly believe if I read this at another time it would probably be a four star read but for now I am stuck on a 3 star rating.

I really enjoyed Brody and Payton's story. These two together were a good fit, the pace was fast and the story itself was a strong one. I know it kept my attention until the end.

Peyton is a great female lead. She has been through alot in her life but she is trying to move on, and get her future set up. She moves forward with getting an internship after college with a major design company. But as always life does not always go as we plan.

Enter Brody who has alot to prove, or at least he thinks he does. He is all work and no play. He wants to have the best design firm out there. But one night he takes a chance. One that involves Peyton. Little did they both know that their lives would change from their encounter.

I really enjoyed the characters, the pace, and the growth of the relationship. They do have chemistry, obstacles thrown in their way, but the journey was a good one. I would highly recommend this book.

After the first book in the Change of Hearts series, I was eager to dive into Change in Strategy. I was curious to see what the second book would bring, and happily devoured the story.

As I had hoped, this was a book that had me addicted throughout. Once I started, I was hooked. I was desperate to see how things played out, turning the pages and not wanting to put the book down. I may not have loved it as much as I loved the first book in the series, but it certainly had me addicted.

Although I was addicted, I will be honest and say I wish certain elements had gone into more detail. There was the potential for a lot of emotion outside of the romance, but I never felt it quite as much as I had hoped to. It was an addictive story, but it didn’t quite hit the emotional notes I had hoped for.

All in all, another addictive read. I cannot wait to see what the third book in the series brings.

This is an office romance that has great characters with self identity and character growth.
Peyton starts a new internship in LA for men's clothing, and she is absolutely so excited about it until she finds out who her boss is. Her boss turns out to be the hot guy she gives a fake name and number to when they met at bar. Both Brody and Peyton have pasts that basically define them until they met each other. Brody practically swears off women and Peyton knows she doesn't want to get hurt again. Peyton's past is an important key to the development of this story and I liked how her character played out, especially when it came to Brody. She discovering that Brody is what she needed all along.
This story had me hooked from the very beginning and I never wanted to put it down.
Peyton and Brody have a really nice connection and their characters were a great match for each other. They become each other missing piece to their puzzles. This was a great edition to the Change of Hearts series and I am very excited to see where this series goes!

Thank you to Sierra Hill and Wildfire Marketing for this opportunity!

Book 2 in the Change of Hearts series. Loved this addition to the series. Brody and Peyton were so good together. When he first saw her from across the bar, he fell in love with her. She was what he was looking for too bad she lied to him and gave him a fake name and number. She never thought she would see him again until he turned out to be her boss. Great office romance. It is a bit of a slow burn romance but once they do admit their feelings, it is so good. Loved it and with each book that I read of hers, I fall in love with her work and her characters more and more. Can’t wait to read more of her work.

Peyton's in LA for her last year internship when she meets a gorgeous suited hottie at a bar, and suddenly they're engaged in the hottest makeout session of her life. He seems to want to continue, but Peyton is nervous about starting her internship, knows she won't be in LA for long, so she gives him a fake number and name and figures she'll only see him in her memories. Too bad for her that when she walks into her new boss' office, he just so happens to be the hot suit from the bar...

Peyton has a past she hasn't disclosed, and Brody's already mad at her for her little lie, when he finds out, will he be even more mad? Or is turnabout fair play when she finds out he lied to her, too?

I really liked this office romance. It's really sweet, their chemistry is electric and both characters are much deeper than the usual cardboard cutout. Brody's maturity really highlighted their age and maturity differences, and that was a problem for me, but really the only thing that bothered me, because everything else more than made up for it. Excellent story, great pacing and a really deep connection make for a very entertaining read.

After Brody and Peyton meet in a bar and she gives him the old bait and switch she thought she might of dodged the bullet her mom warned her about (even though Brody was a bullet she wouldn’t mind). She never thought she’d see him again that is until she meets her new boss lol. These two are both hiding things they don’t typically divulge but they feel something around each other they haven’t ever felt. Cute story with very likable characters!

Change in Strategy is book two in the Change of Hearts series. It can be read as standalone. I loved Peyton. She's in LA for an interneship. She's young and when she meets a cute guy that she has a connection with she gives hm a fake name and number. That cute guy turn out to be her new boss. Peyton has trust issues and isn't looking for love. Brody doesn't want to be a womanizer like his Dad. He is pretty focused on just his work. He has an instant connection with Peyton but he isn't happy to find out she's his new intern. I loved these two and their story.

Hill has a battle on her hands. Change in Strategy is not always easy to love, but then again the truth never is. Peyton and Brody are about to learn the meaning of strength.  Heartache haunts them, happiness eludes them and danger could prove to be right around the corner.  Sierra Hill pulls emotions into the abyss of life by creating her own kind of fairytale. One that deals in facing off against reality and finding happiness that is a perfect fit for you.

I was given an advance readers copy of this book and have decided to write a voluntary honest review. This series so far dealt with a lot of domestic abuse and its great eye opener. And I love these men. Brody is a truly great catch, he's practically got the whole package going for him. Peyton is young but has a great head on her shoulders. She will definitely go far.

Change in Strategy is another wonderful story from Sierra Hill! The romance between Brody and Peyton was incredible and I was invested in their story right away. From the moment they met in the restaurant and had sparks fly when they shared their first kiss, I knew this story was going to be special. They both have their reservations about whether to pursue anything once they discover each other's true identities, but a cross country work trip definitely changes everything.

I just loved everything about this story and I highly recommend picking this one up!

After reading the first book in this series, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I can honestly say that Sierra Hill did an amazing job at capturing my attention and having me hooked from the moment I picked up this book. For some reason this book seemed to gripped me a lot more, I’m not sure what it was, but I found myself loving every minute of this book. I think that Sierra is a very talented writer and I’m only just discovering more of her work, but from the books I have read, I can see that she’s passionate about writing. I think that she did a great job with this book, plus she wrote about real issues that people go through every day, if anything I think this book might actually help a few people who are overcoming them or struggling to deal with them. I just love the idea that maybe Sierra has touched some of her readers and they are able to ease some of the weight they carry.
I honestly couldn’t fault the story, the plot or the characters, I think everything was done pretty well and it was clearly well thought out.
I’m excited to see what else Sierra has in store for this series, as I’m sure it’ll be just as exciting as this book was.
I would recommend that you give this book or series a try, as Sierra’s writing could become your next favourite.

Peyton has had a difficult upbringing, with the fact of having to deal with an eating disorder, suffering verbal abuse from her stepfather and then having to witness the physical abuse on her mother…. It’s no wonder why she has issues trusting guys. So when she is offered an internship at a huge men’s design firm, she couldn’t be more happier as she is getting to experience first hand how the design industry works but also she is very cautious of who she’ll be working for as guys in the suits are the typical guys her mother would warn her about staying clear of.
On her first night in LA she ends up meeting this amazing guy, but of course he wears one of those suits, so of course when the night draws to an end she ends up giving him a fake number in the hopes of never seeing him again, but you can imagine the shock she gets when she ends up walking into his office come Monday…. Turns out the guy she thought she wouldn’t see again is going to be her boss… How will things go between them, will he give her the time of day to explain why she fake numbered him or will she make a huge fool of herself???

Sierra Hill is an amazing author who creates storylines that intrigue us and capture our attention, and characters that pull on our heart strings, who we will never forget. “Change in Strategy” is the second book in her Change of Hearts Series, where we meet innocent intern, Peyton and successful businessman, Brody.

It was love at first sight for Brody when he spotted Peyton across the crowded bar, and she was in awe of his good looks, kindness and sexy smile. Her mom told her not to fall for a handsome man in an expensive suit, and because of this, Peyton had shielded herself from relationships, which kept her safe from anymore heartache and despair. She really didn’t like living this way and she had worked very hard to overcome her personal demons. Peyton’s future looked bright and she couldn’t wait to begin her career in the fashion industry. She wanted to open her heart to the possibility of love, but why did her new boss have to be the same man who had ignited feelings inside her that she thought didn’t exist? What crazy trick was the universe playing?

Brody prided himself in being nothing like his father who was a womanizer and had a different wife every few years. Brody’s job was his life, with little time for anything more. When he met Peyton, he knew she was special, the chemistry instantaneous, and he had to see her again. He was certainly surprised when she showed up in his office as his new intern. He made it a policy to never date an employee, but how could he survive the work day with Peyton in the building? Could he possibly keep his hands to himself?

I was so bummed that I wasn't able to tear through this book like I normally do with Sierra Hill stories. The last few weeks have been completely topsy turvy and it took me way longer than it should have. I'm always pulled into Sierra Hill's sweet and sassy worlds. She's able to create characters that are so real feeling. Brody and Peyton are people that I felt such a connection with. Hill always gives us dimensional people. There are inner struggles, doubts and fears that both Peyton and Brody struggle with. Then we have that connection... between them is fierce and so fun!

I love me a good office romance and this one was such a delight with the witty funness between the characters, the chemistry that is combustible, and this lovely tug of war that kept me eagerly waiting to return every time I had to pause my reading. It wouldn't be fair if I didn't mention Sierra Hill's sweet and sassy writing! It's always my favorite thing about her books. She's sweet as pie but has a nice kick of lime or lemon right at the end... it keeps you on your toes. She's able to balance a real feeling romance while still transporting the reader to another time... a break from your everyday life.

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

I received a complimentary ARC - early release copy of this book in Kindle format from the author for review purposes.

This is book 2 in the series but I am a first time reader to this authors writing and I really enjoyed this story. It easily stands alone, I believe the first book is about this stories heroine, Peyton's friend. BUt Peyton is just a friend in this story, we don't even see her much in this story.

Peyton is graduating college and before her semester ends she has an internship in Los Angeles and so off she goes to LA. The first thing she does is she goes to a bar and their she meets cute guy. They really hit it off but she wants to concentrate on her internship.

The next day she goes to start her internship and guess who is her new boss? Yep its Brody! These two are really cute together as P and B try and resist their attraction. This was a fun romance about two very attracted people but who have to work together.

Receiving the internship at a success men’s clothing corporation is exactly the jump start that Peyton needs for her career. She has a painful past and hasn’t healed from the emotional scars it left so when she finds out her new boss is the stranger she shared a steamy moment with the night before and the only man to inspire feelings in her things are about to get complicated.

Brody’s past has ensured that his focus must be on his career and not be distracted by any woman. From the moment that he met Peyton he knows that what he feels for her is different than anything he has felt for anyone else but are either of them willing to open up their hearts and lives to love?

There is no denying the physical connection between them but there is a deep emotional connection as well. The characters are compelling, and the storyline draws you and has you invested in their happy ever after.

Oh sweet sweet Peyton. She has been through some tough situations growing up and as a college student just trying to be the clothing designer she has always dreamed of being. An internship lands her in California, but the stranger she meets, while having dinner, ends up being a roller coaster ride in love and business that she did not see coming. Peyton and her boss, Brody, have so much chemistry, you can feel the energy coming off the pages in every scene they are in together. Brody is the sweetest, sexiest alpha that I have read about in a long time. This story has you rooting for both Peyton and Brody the whole way through. I love how characters from the first book, Game Changer, make there way in and I can not wait for the next book. This story is a must read office romance, I could not put it down.

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

Change in Strategy is the first book I have read by Sierra and it was an enjoyable read. The plot is fast paced, and the writing flowed easily and held my attention throughout.
Peyton is brave, courageous and strong willed. I really admire how when she is feeling down or is experiencing negative feelings, she acknowledges her emotions and thoughts and finds a positive way to work through them.
Brody is caring, sweet and has a strong moral compass. He is so gentle and considerate of Peyton’s feelings. Brody definitely knows that he wants Peyton and shows her that by expressing his encouragement, support and love for her on multiple occasions.
Brody and Peyton share an immediate attraction. I really liked how they are honest and truthful with each other. Although Peyton does jump to conclusions and makes assumptions without talking to Brody first, I can understand why she does this.
Alcoholism, eating disorders and domestic abuse are prominently discussed throughout but is done delicately and respectfully.

This is an insta love romance really, although it takes the two main characters a little time to figure that out (or admit it) Payton has been through a lot in her 21 years and she doesn’t trust men easily, especially ones in a nice suit. So when the aspiring fashion designer lands an internship with a men’s design house in LA working under the young CEO, she knows she is going to have to face some demons. When she meets Brody she doesn’t feel the unease she expects and chemistry explodes between the two. This is a pretty quick paced book and it moves quickly. This is a well written office romance with some steamy scenes, fun characters. There are some heavy issues, like alcoholism, domestic abuse, and eating disorders but they are handled respectfully.

Peyton has many hardships she has to overcome leaving her feeling less than deserving of love and extremely weary of men in business suits due to her mothers troubled love life and ill fitting advice.

Brody Jensen the fashion business mogul was quickly infatuated with "Brooklyn" the fake name Peyton gives because she is just looking for someone to help her start her new beginning away from home and the comfort of her roommate Kyler.

But soon enough on the job Brody discovers the truth and the rollercoaster that their relationship is begins ...

This book is really fun read with queer representation ..

This plot had an interesting concept, and I was excited about reading it. It started a bit slow for me, but it grabbed my attention about 20% in. The story was a sweet fast pace romance that everyone craves to have. It took a while for Peyton and Brody to admit their feelings and to do something about it, but once they did I was delighted to see how truly loved each other. My only complaint was that there was a lot of details that sometimes took away from the story.

This is the 2nd book in this amazing series and is Brody and Peyton’s story. Peyton has had a horrid upbringing which understandable leaves her with trust issues, and on a night out before she starts her internship at a design firm she meets Brody, and ends up giving him a false number, only to find out that he is her new boss. This is a well written story which has sizzling chemistry and is an emotional roller coaster journey throughout. I was intrigued and hooked throughout this riveting page turner, and I highly recommend for all.

4 1/2 stars. Another winner for Sierra Hill. I am really enjoying this series so far and this, book 2 in the series that can be read as a stand-alone, definitely lived up to my expectations. Peyton is 21 and very innocent. She has been through a lot in her family life and her own personal battle but now is hopefully her time to shine. Landing a coveted internship in LA is just what she wanted. She meets someone her first night there in that movie-esque eyes lock across a crowded room way. There may or may not be some kissing involved but then Peyton leaves expecting to never see him again. Imagine her surprise when she walks into her first day at her internship only to find him as the CEO. Sigh. Brody Jensen. Swoon. He is so sweet, sexy and irresistible. I love how their story unfolds and how they deal with difficult situations as they come up together. Mostly. It is not always an easy relationship to navigate since he is her boss but the love bug bit Brody that first night at the bar and he will not give up until Peyton is his. I really enjoyed this story and these characters and love that Garrett and Brooklyn made appearances. And Kyler is a hoot! Would love to see him fall in love!

Change in Strategy is a book that will take you on an emotional roller coaster as Brody and Peyton fight her past demons and half truths. A chance meeting, an incredible connection and a surprise revelation start these two on a slide to more that they will have no chance at stopping. Their story is witty, passionate, emotional and seriously sexy. As these two fight past lies, secrets and emotional insecurities it will make the outcome that much sweeter as they not only win each other’s hearts but yours.

Love love reading Brody and Peyton story. And love that we have the chance to see Garrett and Brooklyn too to know how they were doing in their lives. And this man what can I say about this story. Peyton definitely had a rough beginning in her life but I love the strength she had to over come all of what she went through. And Brody that was one hot boss I don't know how Peyton had all that strength to not jump his bones lol! I definitely love reading them I hope we have the chance to read more of the chacaters that we came to know in this series like Kyler I would love to read his story.

Change in Strategy was my first Sierra Hill novel. This office romance had likable, relatable characters who had intense chemistry, a deep emotional connection and a back and forth banter that would hold your interest from beginning to end. The story was fast paced and flowed well and the author tastefully discusses some heavy issues including domestic abuse, eating disorders and alcoholism. It was emotional, steamy, passionate and witty. This is the second book in the series and I loved that the characters from the first book made and appearance. I enjoyed it and would recommend it to lovers of contemporary romance.
