Temperance Falls Forever #9

Seducing His Student

Rate this book
The last thing a newly hired dean should be doing is one of his students…

Dirty flirting with the unbelievably hot barista at Bundt & Grind café is not how Elliott Goodridge should be spending his time. Temperance Falls College hired him to counteract a scandal—not burn through his paychecks on overpriced coffee with a side of impure thoughts.

For the amount of time college student Samantha Monroe spends fantasizing about the new guy in town, she should know more than just his name. But despite putting out all kinds of signs that she's down for, well, putting out, Elliott hasn't made a move. Yet.

By the time the truth is revealed, it's too late to stop the charge between them. Sparks fly, but so do rumors. For Elliott, a day without his hands on Sam is too long—and two orgasm-free weeks until graduation is flat-out impossible.

Elliott and Samantha have been flirting over coffee for over two months. Their attraction is almost tangible and yet neither has made the first move. Until Elliott finally steps up to the plate and makes his intentions and his obvious attraction known. They agree to meet up at the town celebration later… and then the truth of who they are is revealed, but that doesn’t stop them. Elliott wants Sam and she wants him and nothing, not rules nor the risk of ruination, will get in their way.

Seducing His Student didn’t read like any other student/teacher romance I’ve ever read before. I enjoyed the heck out of it because of its originality. I imagine it would be hard to make a familiar story stand out or to be creative enough for it to seem different from the rest, but these authors were amazingly successful. There was definitely a plot, but I found this story to be more emotionally-driven than anything else. It was a quick, smutty, sexy and sweet read, all wrapped up in one fine hot mess of a bow!

I loved how illicit Seducing His Student was as well as the smoking hot sex scenes. I love the way this author does forbidden stories, they always feel compact despite the fact that they are short reads. I'm looking forward to reading their next release.

If you're in the mood for a quick, dirty, forbidden read I cannot recommend this book enough.

"I plan on telling you exactly how much I love over and over again until you no longer doubt the words."

Seducing His Student is London Hale's latest novella that takes place on the island of Temperance Falls. Elliott Goodridge is the young, new Dean of Students at Temperance Falls College and he's already feeling the heat. His workload is overflowing and he's only two months into the job. The one thing he has to look forward to each day are his daily stop-ins at the local coffee shop. He's got is bad for the barista, Sam Monroe, and after weeks of back-and-forth flirting, Elliott decides to take things to the next level. But when he finds out that Sam is also a student at Temperance Falls College, taking things to the next level might not be so easy as Elliott had hoped.

Seducing His Student is a short and steamy forbidden romance that will keep you entertained for an hour or two. Although the title suggests that this is a student-teacher romance, it is not as Elliott is not actually Sam's teacher but rather just her new dean. There is already a connection between the pair when we start since they've been circling each other for almost two months. Elliott is definitely "a gentleman in the streets and a freak in the sheets" type of guy. 😏😛 He may be all business when it comes to his new job, but he sure as hell knows how to play too! London Hale have definitely spoiled me with all their amazing heroes. Sam is a sweetheart who loves spending time on the water. I do wish that we got a few more chapters told from her POV just so we could get to know her better. I couldn't quite connect with her because of that.

My main issue with this novella was the lack of conflict. I wanted there to be a bit more of a struggle when it came to these two getting together instead of things being so easily resolved.

Seducing His Student was yet another fun and quick read by London Hale and I can't wait to see what this author duo brings to Temperance Falls next. Knowing these two, it will be filthy as hell!

4 unexpected stars

This was my first book by London hale, and i have to admit that i'm not quite sure what to make of it. It was a very quick novel - i managed to finish the book in under 2 hours, which is exactly what the publisher promised: 'a quick feel good read in 1-2 hours'. If nothing else, London Hale delivered on that promise. Yet, while i didn't hate this book, i didn't love it either. It just left me with that 'That's it?!' feeling. Honestly, i wish i could have known more about these two characters so i could have better connected with them.

4 breath taking dreams

There's no denying that the chemistry between Elliot and Sam is incredibly strong - heck, i was surprised that they had managed to keep their hands off each other for so long. Their affair was quick and instant, which is why i was surprised to find out how Sam's father reacted, on top of how he handled it. In the end though, i liked how their story was written, i just wished there was more to it so that i could habe absolutely lost myself in this book!

I'm not sure there's much to say about this story other than its a fast paced, sexy little page turner. This was a very quick read, a story you can definitely read in one sitting. It's jam packed with steamy scenes surrounding a forbidden relationship between a university dean and his student and while it may be short and sweet, this writing duo manages to pack in a pretty satisfying romance rife with sensuality and angst.

I'm not typically a fan of such short stories because I find that it's difficult to deliver a thoroughly fleshed out story in so few words. But London Hale did so here in Seducing His Student and I found it to be adorably sexy and deliciously romantic. While it's not the most memorable story I've read, it certainly checks all the boxes for a reader looking for a quick erotic fix. This was a solid little forbidden romance and I enjoyed the writing style of this team. I'd certainly keep an eye out for similar stories from London Hale in the future.

This was my first London Hale book but it definitely won't be my last! It grabbed my attention from very early on and was super sexy without being gratuitous. I liked the characters and the level of angst and tension it was able to build in a short amount of time. It may help that I'm a bit of a sucker for the teacher or administrator) and student taboo. 4 out of 5 wine glasses.

2.5 to 3 stars, I can't decide

This one didn't immediately appeal to me like the rest of London Hale's books did. Elliot and Sam have a lot of sexual chemistry, but I feel like they lacked the emotional connection I usually found with LH's other couples.

Ok, who is surprised I loved this London Hale book? No one? Good. I've been addicted to their short, hot and dirty romances since I picked up the very first one. I'm happy to say the streak continued with Seducing His Student, but I very much suspected it would. I do love a good student/teacher romance and this one totally fit the bill.

I really liked Elliott and Sam. Their chemistry was apparent from the very start and I was as all-in on the two of them as Elliott was, even with the complications. This is a short book, so things escalated between them pretty quickly. (No, this is NOT me complaining.) The sexy times were plentiful and hot AF. Elliott had a filthy mouth and y'all know how much I love that. But more than the sexy times, I found the romance satisfying. The ladies of London Hale pack a whole lot of romance into a short number of pages and I am here for it. All of it.

If you like bite-sized doses of hot, filthy romance, I hope you're reading London Hale's books. These ladies write smut with substance and I love it. I'm not sure what I'm going to do when there are no more London Hale books to read, to be honest. I guess that's where re-reads come in, huh?

I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

FAVORITE QUOTES

Sam was the object of every fantasy I'd had since I'd stumbled into the coffee shop my second day on the island.

She was mine in that moment—every inch. I just had to show her where to go. Just had to get her to that spot where she was safe to fall.

"You got to taste me. It's my turn to have some fun."

Back to the naming thing. Not girlfriend. Not woman. Someday, I'd call her my wife, but for now... She was simply my Sam.

Another trip to Temperance Falls and another good read. This book was the definition of quick and dirty and I loved it. The action takes off so quick and I loved that. Sam and Elliot are combustible and they are fantastic together. And of course I loved the teacher/student aspect – and no worries we are all adults here and Elliot isn’t her actual teacher, honestly Sam is a month out from graduation. But the forbidden aspect makes their relationship even steamier. Like with any London Hale book, its super dirty but it’s also really sweet. Elliot is so charming and endearing and the way Sam is the center of his world is so so sweet. Seducing His Student is a super quick and super steamy and perfect for when you want to finish a book in one shot. I breezed through this one and loved every single second.

My first "micro-romance" and it had it all! Seducing His Student had me seduced from the very start. From its well planned characters to its steamy love scenes, you will not want to put this one down and you won't have to because of time. Dean or is it Elliott visits the local beanery every day not just for the java but for the beautiful woman serving it, Sam. What they both know is that there is definitely an attraction there but it's what they don't know that spells disaster for the two of them and any relationship they may share. If you want a quick hot read, be sure to pick this one up!

This summer, London Hale has quickly become my go-to for short, sweet, and juicy romance novellas.

You know forbidden romance is my kryptonite, especially the professor/student trope, so when I read that London Hale's Seducing His Student follows that storyline, I requested it on Netgalley the very next day. Seducing His Student is so sexy, with super hot chemistry, and a little bit of angst because what happens when the secret gets out?! I devoured this in one sitting!

I've enjoyed London Hale's books in the past, but unfortunately, Seducing His Student missed the mark for me. It's billed as a taboo romance--which it is, in a sense--but elements of insta-love and a too neatly wrapped-up ending didn't work for me.

College student Samantha works at the local coffee shop when she's not working at her parents' marina. She's two weeks from graduation, after which she'll be at the marina full time. At the coffee shop, Sam frequently waits on Elliott, who's new in town. The two have been flirting for weeks when he finally asks her out. A case of mistaken identity results in the realization that Elliott is the new dean of students--at Sam's college. To make matters worse, Sam's dad is on the board of trustees.

There's a forbidden aspect to Sam and Elliott's attraction, for obvious reasons, but the taboo angle felt a bit forced. True, Sam is a student, but she's also two weeks from graduation. Additionally, Elliott isn't Sam's teacher--he's an administrator, so they've had no direct interactions in an educational capacity. Technicalities, sure--the relationship is still inappropriate--but ones that lessened the forbidden quality of their relationship, in my mind.

What the book has going for it is an abundance of sex scenes, but even those felt disconnected and even repetitive after a while. Sam and Elliott have a sexual connection, but what do they have beyond that? By the end of the book, it still wasn't clear to me why Elliott is so obsessed with Sam (other than her abundance of freckles, which he mentions quite frequently) or vice versa (other than the fact that Sam finds Elliott super hot).

Also, I don't know why, but every time Elliott calls Sam "princess," it kind of creeped me out. Maybe because she said she didn't like it and he insisted on continuing to call her that? At any rate, I didn't believe their instant connection, which lacked emotion even at the end of the book.

As I mentioned, I've enjoyed London Hale's other books, but a lack of emotional depth coupled with an implausible ending caused Seducing His Student to fall flat for me.

I received an advance copy of this book from NetGalley.

Five BREW stars! A teacher-student romance you won’t want to miss! Fall into temptation.

This is one of the best Student-Teacher Romance I have read over the year. I am almost sure that in any stage of our school time we fall for a teacher. I am a self-proclaimed lover of this subject. Personally I find myself indentified with this topic as I fell for my French teacher when I was studying International Relations at college. It was a chaste and platonic love. Nothing compared to what you will read on Seducing his Student by London Hale.

I enjoy the push and pull between the main characters. The plot may fall into cliché however the author knew how to keep the expectation within the development of the story. This is not the typical teacher who fell in love with a flirtatious student. It is more different and refreshing. It was a long time since I read a Prohibited Romance like Elliot and Samantha.

If you didn’t fall for a teacher before, you will fall for Elliot. He is the hottest, dirtiest and cocky teacher every student want. He is new in the place and he has fallen for the barista who always serves him at the cafeteria he uses to go. The attraction is explosive but there is something more. He wants her in a way that he hasn’t before. Not other woman has captured his attention like his Sam.

“Two months of lusting after this woman had left me with a perpetual hard-on whenever I so much as smelled coffee brewing”

What will you do if the man/woman you are attracted to is prohibited? Could you stay away and wait? Or will you fall into temptation? I am sure these questions were in Elliot’s mind when he discovered his Sam was forbidden.

“I can’t think of anything else. You’re mine, Sam. Let me prove it.”

On the other side of the coin is Samantha, a beautiful girl ready to graduate. She has a brilliant future. She works a good student who works in a cafeteria and she also helps her parents with the family business. Samantha is attracted to the gorgeous man who always visits the cafeteria to get his coffee every morning but soon she will discover that he is forbidden.

“Forbidden or not, our connection was undeniable. And it seemed as though he was finally in it and willing, rule be dammed.”

Could Sam and Elliot avoid the temptation?

Something I love about Elliot is his sassy mouth. He is not like any teacher you have read before.

“Fuck social norms and awkward beginnings. This was Sam... my girl.”

This is a hot book you won’t want to miss.

Seducing His Student is a short Forbidden story.

I am a fan of forbidden love or taboo, but Student/Teacher is one of my favorite.

Elliot is new in the island and came to work, every morning since the moment he got there he goes for his "expensive" coffee where he has a crush (but is more than that) on the sexy barista.

Sam is about to graduate college but she works at a coffee shop and every morning there is a sexy man flirting with her. Everything's great until the moment they are about to be on their "date" and found out who they are really are.

There are lines that can't be crossed but after building feelings for a while, it's hard to resist when they both know what's the risk.
Both are grown ups and I love that in the story, it's not just a "troubled girl" trying to escape her problems... their chemistry is there from day one.
They just need to figure it out how this will work, because she is not just any girl, this is a girl that can get him in a lot of troubles.

Forbidden romances are to be hidden but when they have no choice, they face their problems and look for a solution, together...

"You may not like me calling you mine, but I'm yours, too, Sam. Completely."

Even when the story is short, I didn't feel it rushed or anything, it's at their own pace. Nobody can tell you who you fall in love and when you are already there is doesn't matter who they are, you just need to face it and prove it worth.
Elliot and Sam are great together and you can see it from the moment they meet.

Elliott Goodridge has a crush on Sam, the barista from Bundt & Grind. He knows with his new job that he can't fraternize with any of the students from Temperance Falls College but he can see that Sam is different.

Samantha Monroe looks forward to her visits from Elliott every day and soon she hopes their casual flirting will turn into something more. When the opportunity arises will she take it?

But when two are two are put together what will happen to the feelings and chemistry that the two of them have together? How far will they go and how many rules will they break to be together?

This was a great, quick forbidden romance!

Although the reader has a feeling where everything is headed it is still fun to watch how everything plays out.

I loved the chemistry between Sam and Elliott when they were just being themselves without any pretences. Then everything goes to a whole other level when they realize who the other really is.

I loved Sam and how she was a "perfect" good girl yet there was a different side to her that we saw when she was with Elliott. That part of her knew what she wanted and what she was willing to risk to keep it.

Elliott was interesting as at the beginning he talked about his morals and what he wouldn't do with his students so you knew what was going to happen. Yet when everything goes down he is so calm about everything and completely puts his heart out there.

I loved the tense moments at the end when everything was blown up and how it all went!

Great forbidden romance!!

FINAL DECISION: This taboo was a little bit bothersome to me even though Sam is only a few weeks away from graduation. Others might like it better.

THE STORY: Elliott Goodridge is seriously attracted to the barista at his local coffee shop. What he doesn't know is that she is Samantha Monroe and a college student at the same school where he was just hired as dean. Any relationship between them is forbidden, but the two can't help themselves. But their relationship threatens both of their futures.

OPINION: This one was a bit bothersome to me because the two alternatively are troubled by the problematic nature of their relationship and having sexual encounters. While the text is sure to indicate that there is nothing coercive or problematic between Elliott and Sam, I wish they had just waited until she was done with school. There just aren't enough pages in this story to seriously deal with the issues which are problematic for me as a reader.

I'm sure other readers will not be bothered by this taboo trope at all. The author does a good job of mitigating all the issues that might be objectionable. I just felt that it was silly that they couldn't wait a couple of weeks when they already had known one another for a time.

WORTH MENTIONING: This is a short quickie erotic romance.

CONNECTED BOOKS: SEDUCING HIS STUDENT is the ninth book in the Temperance Falls series. The books take place in the same town but are only loosely connected so this book works as a standalone.

STAR RATING: I give this book 2 stars.

I always know what i'm in for when it comes to a London Hale book steamy sex, page turner , likable characters , and a forbiddenness that is to tempting to resist . Elliott and Samantha have been flirting with one another unknowingly who the other really his and they are slapped in the face with the realization that they can't be with one another and if they don't stop jobs will be lost and grades will be withdrawn . Elliott one hot dean and so dominating when he finds out who the heroine is and realizes he has to put a stop to the attraction that is growing by the minute and lets just say it's hard really really HARD . Samantha is a smart and hard working student when she finds out who the dean is she becomes really crushed and once he tries to put a stop to what they began to feel she becomes barefoot with the intense feeling she has for the hero .

This book is falls into the category of books Carina Press calls "The Dirty Bits" and they are described as sex filled microromances deigned to be read in an hour or two.

This was a fun, quick, read and yes, tons of naughtiness. Although there was a lot of sex there was also a nice little plot and some substance underneath. It was well edited which was certainly appreciated.

Elliott and Sam had been flirting over the coffee counter for 2 months when the story began so although things moved quickly, it didn't seem too over the top. It wasn't as if they had just met. I could feel the connection the two built up and the intensity and heat were there.

Although titled "Seducing His Student" Sam was actually not his student, he had no classes with her. Although neither of their ages were specified it was mentioned Sam was at least drinking age and Elliott was described as very young for a Dean. So I enjoyed the fact that there wasn't a huge gap in their ages. It just made it seem more realistic Plus a huge age gap sometimes creeps me out. I didn't have that feeling here.

I would totally read another book by this author (which is actually two authors writing together) and I'd also try out some more of Carina Presses "Dirty Bits" books. It was an enjoyable way to while away an lazy afternoon.

I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Seducing his Student, as with all London Hale books, sucked me in right away. It's loaded with sexual tension, an element of taboo, and fun, feisty characters.

When Dean Elliott Goodridge flirts with the barista at Bundt and Grind he's got no idea who she is and how their flirting could harm his career. But something about the woman draws him in and won't let him let go, even when he knows he's risking a whole lot and should do the right thing.

Samantha is shocked when the hottie "Dean" she's been seeing at the coffee shop turns out to be none other than the new DEAN of her school. If that wasn't bad enough, the discovery comes on the heels of what was supposed to be their first official 'date'. But when Elliott wants to keep things between them professional so as not to risk either of them personally - Samantha isn't down with the plan. She knows the risks of having a realationship with Elliott and is more than willing to take them, but does she fully understand them?

Seducing His Student is a quick but steamy read, with all the dirty talk one would expect from a London Hale book but also some heart. Samantha and Elliott's interactions are great and pull you in to the story seeing something more between them than an instant lust that pulls them under, making them willing to risk it all for a chance to be together.

Seducing His Student is a short novella about a student/teacher type relationship. It’s the first book I have read from London Hale, and I did enjoy it even though it wasn’t quite what I was expecting. First off you all know I have a true love for books involving student/teacher relationships…like that is my favorite trope of all time. This should have easily been a great read for me, but I did struggle a little bit with it in the end. Going in I wasn’t aware that it was a novella and on the shorter side. I normally don’t read novellas and shorter stories, I always seem to feel like part of the story is missing. That was kind of the case for Seducing His Student.

While I enjoyed the story and the forbidden aspects of this story, I really just feel like their could have been more. It was a quick read, I finished it in one night without any problems. But what I struggled with the most was that there wasn’t a whole lot of depth to this story. Both Elliot and Sam were enjoyable characters, but I felt like they really didn’t meet or overcome any struggles. Life played out a little too easy for them. I wish the forbidden aspect had been played up a little bit more, as well as some added drama. I just think that with the length there wasn’t a chance for the story to develop in the way I wanted.

Short, sweet, and sexy as hell Seducing His Student is the perfect little bite for when you’re in a time crunch but need to escape for a little while. I was pleasantly surprised at the development in the book, which can often fall short in a novella. This one had a great beginning, middle, and end that actually left me wanting more. Dean Elliot Goodridge is everything you’d want in a male character – sexy, suave, and possessive. Samantha Monroe is feisty, outgoing, and his perfect match. Their chemistry is explosive.

There is a small amount of drama which is inevitable with a taboo story of this sort. I don’t think I’ve ever read a student/teacher romance without any. But it works with the story. If you’re a fan of these sorts of taboo stories, this is the perfect one to pick up and devour in a hour or two.

In this Temperance Falls novella, Elliot Goodridge is obsessed over the pretty barista at the local coffee shop. They’ve been flirting for months, and he finally gets up the nerve to ask her out. Then he learns the truth—Samantha Monroe is a college student, a month shy of graduating, and her father is a college trustee. Unfortunately, Elliot is the new dean of students. A relationship is forbidden, but neither of them can stay away from each other.
The sex scenes were super hot, and there were a lot of them! I loved all their raunchy dirty talk too. Elliot and Sam were strong-willed, mature characters, but they weren’t all that careful in keeping their relationship a secret. The story takes place on an island (I have no idea where), so the community is tight-knit and people are bound to talk.
I really wish the characters’ ages had been mentioned. Sam is just graduating, so she’s around 21. Elliot is the youngest dean in his field, but I imagine he’s between 30-35. I could be wrong. Despite the age gap, they fit well together.

Do you want a read that's quick, sultry, and a little taboo?

Then I highly recommend you pick up Seducing His Student today.

The connection between Elliott and Samantha is intense and undeniable. Even when they learn they need to stay away from each other, they can't and really don't want to.

Elliott is a man that works hard and always wants to do the right thing. And no woman has ever caught his eye like Sam. I adore that he's feelings for her never weavers, it's actually strengthens.

I love how Sam doesn't care about what other might say, she just wants Elliott and doesn't hesitate to let him know. Sam is smart, talented, and a hard worker. Her banter with Elliott is spot on.

I enjoyed every second of Seducing His Student and hated to let them go. It's naughty, dirty, and everything nice.

Seducing his student is a more sweet and less forbidden romance that takes place on the Island of Temperance Falls. The story is a quick read situational read. We jump right in without a whole lot of background.

Elliot Goodridge is the young, sexy new Dean of Students. Elliot is new to the position and the Island. He starts his mornings purchasing coffee and flirting with the barista, Sam Monroe. Once he finally makes his move the Dean discovers Sam is not just a barista but a student at his college. Sam will be graduating in a few short weeks but can they wait and avoid possible negative consequences or will their connection be too strong to keep them apart.

The struggle is real in this sexy short story.. 3.5 Stars

All these ~heroes~ are the same character type. Alpha males, aggressive, arrogant, the right mix of dirty and sweet. And that's not ALWAYS bad, but Elliot wasn't just bordering creepy stalker, he was sailing over the line. His texts to Sam after he broke it off and messed with her head after seeing her talking with another guy reminded me of the typical Nice Guy. It was straight-up manipulation. And every time he called her my girl or my Sam, I cringed. I think she could do better. *shrugs* This was quick but utterly boring and so perfectly wrapped up that him being the dean of students never felt like it would be an issue, which took away that forbidden intensity from a romance trope like this. So, a nope for me on this one. Sadly.

Seducing His Student is everything I've come to expect from the duo authors of London Hale. SEXY,HOT,
QUICK, FUN READ!! Seducing His Student is an erotic, forbidden story about the new Dean of Students Elliot and Samantha (Sam.) Although Sam isn't technically his student, Elliot could risk everything if their relationship is discovered.
I devoured this book in a very short setting! I'm looking forward to more books from this author duo!

*I voluntarily read an advance copy of the book from the author. This is my honest review.*
