Hands down, thee most SUCCESSFUL blind buy I’ve ever made. I haven’t smelled anything quite like it. The opening comes on a little strong with the photorealistic whisky note but it dries down to the absolutely most beautiful boozy, floral, white musk aroma that I’ve ever smelled. Very gorgeous and unique. It’s an extremely inviting and alluring fragrance, it’s sophisticated and warm and makes people just want to be near you. And it’s perfectly unisex! Im so surprised this isn’t talked about more! This is a stunning composition!

antongl97

Opening is very harsh, a photorealistic whiskey scent that can be overpowering but once it dries down it becomes the most beautiful, addicting rose smell without becoming feminine at all. The woodiness and musk contribute to an addictive masculine scent that works pretty much all year rouns

SniffyMcgree

I absolutely adore Baraonda and Silver Musk, my top picks from Nasomatto. They're both incredibly versatile and safe choices. Baraonda, in particular, is a gourmand fragrance that even those who typically shy away from gourmands can appreciate. As a lover of whiskey, scotch, and bourbon, Baraonda resonates with me—it's like the lingering aroma in a Glencairn glass after the last drop has evaporated. While it doesn't smell directly like whiskey, it captures the essence of the best characteristics found in a fine whisky. Accompanying this intoxicating boozy note are exquisite woods and a subtle hint of green stem rose, adding a touch of delicate beauty to the composition. Baraonda is nothing short of stunning, alluring, and utterly unique—it's a masterpiece in its own right.

hanaabdullah2114

The fragrance opens with a rich, decadent dessert-like aroma, harmonized by coconut, muscovado sugar, and smoky bourbon, with a delicate touch of roses in the background. This is a scent for mature audiences, exuding a confident, assertive vibe, regardless of gender. The initial coconut note dissipates swiftly, giving way to a deep, intoxicating blend of smoky and boozy accords.

Marzepam

Gourmand. Similar concept to PdM Herod but more creative, punk style. Opening with whiskey. Drydown; sugar and musk. Slight green undertones. Sweet, boozy, kicking, silliage huge. Mass pleaser. You will feel it all day long. Not easy to stop smelling.

GwenH

This is one of the sexiest ‘masc leaning’ fragrances I have ever smelt.
Not because it’s mass appealing - but it’s masterfully crafted in how well it blends its woody-boozy smoky-sweet notes and holds them in perfect balance throughout the longevity.

Baraonda opens with a burst of delicious crisp apple whiskey. It isn’t sharp or screechy but decadent and almost gourmand. The whiskey mellows out after the first hour, as does the sweetness, and the dry down becomes this intoxicating woody-boozy dream that's a touch floral. The rose brings a little elegance to the fragrance but in no way is this a rose or ‘rosey’ frag. The florals, musk and ambrosian are there to play a tender supporting role, softening the personality just enough to keep it indulgent and not at all obnoxious.

It’s a statement piece that isn’t trying too hard.
Unique but completely approachable.

Needless to say I bought a full bottle for my partner as soon as he finished his 5ml sample.
When he wears it he feels sexy and confident (and a touch fancy) and I make sure he knows it!

Tamer Qenawy

Just perfect that sexy sweety boozy whisky fragrance its so unique and perfect for dates and nights out

rosebush340

Nice perfume with great performance, but it's a turnoff for me that it smells too similar to Armani Si and hence not unique to my nose.

Tannerbuhnaner

Baraonda, baraonda, baraonda… you sexy sexy fragrance you… I am OBSESSED.

Opens with an extremely realistic whiskey note that takes a little bit of time to mellow out and dry down, but once it does, woo baby this fragrance is so divine. The rose note here is subtle and masculine, lingering underneath the smooth boozy whiskey note. After an hour or so of wear, the woods and creamy musks start revealing themselves into a barrel aged whiskey fragrance that is utterly sensual.

Lasts forever on skin… somewhere between strong and moderate protection… people will smell this on you and give compliments… great date night fragrance because it’ll start with a strong impression, mellow out as the evening progresses, and become intimate as you cuddle up into bed.

I think this is a year round fragrance personally, but certainly cozy vibes… probably not appropriate for the office or anywhere that smelling like booze would get you in trouble. That being said, it’a a pleasant boozy odor, not a “Damn! How many drinks have they had?” moment.

It’s a love for me and is my favorite boozy fragrance.

Olehkopystko

To much of whiskey to me, booziness in it abit overpowering and even depressing.I expected more solid scent of whiskey, or in other words more harsh/hard and definitely more wood to it.
Still on top of my like shelf or maybe it will stay on love

tinsky61

This one seems to have divided opinion which is not necessarily a bad thing. If it is “provoking” a reaction at least we can say it isn’t bland, dull or situation normal. The reactions both positive and negative seem to be at the end of their respective spectrums. So much so, in fact, that I feel that if I like this fragrance, it might be in the camp of a guilty pleasure, like admitting you watch Jag or Diagnosis Murder. And I think I like this fragrance. There, I’ve said it.
This fragrance only does a few things, but it does these few things well. The opening is a smooth, rich, photorealistic scent of whiskey. It then transitions into the barrel this whiskey has been macerating in. Peeking through this tentatively is a subtle rose, some citrus and musk. Sillage and projection are excellent. A perfect scent to wear on a winter’s evening. Even though it is simple I don’t think there is anything quite like it. Both the alcohol and wood aromas are not your standard rum/cedar variety and I bought a bottle based on the sample.

The DZ

This is to this date the most incredible fragrance I have ever smelled from start to finish. In love.

interrobang

I find whiskey awful, which leads me to dislike this scent. If you like whiskey however, and you love its smell, you'll certainly love this.

bd78

Whiskey. Meh.

Olenchyk

Would have never guessed I would love a perfume that photorealistically smells like WHISKEY, but here I am :)
It's a masterpiece, simple and delicious, sexy and intriguing, inoffensive but with a punch
want this on my bf, and keep sniffing him

Baraonda is a whiskey and rose fragrance. Whiskey is THE dominant note, but the rose is not far behind. No one will detect the other ingredients. The problems are:
- The whiskey note is realistic yes (maybe somewhat cheap whiskey), but waaaay too strong and boozy... Whiskey perfume is a good idea but you have to be careful how you implement it. If it ends up smelling too much of cheap alcohol... you will end up smelling like you are drunk...
- The whiskey and rose combo is not good. I don't really like rose in men's perfumes but I also can't associate people (men mostly) who drink whiskey with roses. Just haven't seen this class of gentlemen I guess.
- This juice is heavy and strong and it projects which amplify the 2 issues above for me. You will smell like an alcoholic from afar.
I really wanted to like it. I'm disappointed though.

filleisnothere

Very realistic whiskey scent, but not in a sharp or unpleasant way. It does have a sweeter opening that after a while slightly fades away, but still lingers there.

One of the very best from Gualtieri, a true piece of art.

10/10
One of the best to ever grace your nose
Also one of a tiny number of perfumes I consider perfect
This is absolutely top tier and one of my all time favourites
I haven't come across a single perfume that I would describe as 'better' than this
Seriously I could talk about Baraonda for hours, it's just unbeatable

The Whiskey - musk - rose - wood blend is a masterpiece
Sweet and syrupy whiskey at first, it dries down into a drier headstrong woody scent
It's confident, a bit dangerous, seriously sexy and has a lot of character while still retaining impressive artistic nuance and class
ie exactly how I want to smell

It's also a compliment machine, my most by a mile. A huge crowd pleaser
You will notice that people around you visibly find you more attractive when you wear this
It can easily be worn by any sex with confidence

12 hour longevity on my skin
(btw this smells completely different on skin. you can't experience the whole thing unless you've worn it for a full day)
Strong sillage and projection, without being overpowering or burdening in any way
It is a winter perfume, but honestly you could probably wear this during summer if you don't spray more than twice, as the rose and musk are surprisingly airy

During drydown the character of the scent stays the same, but takes you on a lil journey that enhances different facets of the fume
This is exactly how I want my perfumes to progress.
Baraonda's progression is the best i know of
This might also be the best boozy perfume - which is a seriously stacked archetype

An absolute steal for the price
Strange that it isnt popular on tiktok
It's my favourite by Gualtieri, which is saying a lot because he's one of the best in the industry at the moment

TWN2RBO

My most complicated fragrance. 10/10 boozy perfection with a scent trail for days. Lasts forever on skin, just don’t spray on jacket unless you want it to smell like that for a long time. I love when I find a perfume that mixes with my skin chemistry and makes the scent even better. I think this, duro, and the older black afgano, are the best from the house. This is my fav though.

JaySentz

This is probably the most realistic booze scent I have smelled. I have smelled fragrances that have boozy elements, but this actually smells like a glass that had whiskey in it. Like if you finished the last sip and then came back to it after it was mostly evaporated hoping for that last drop but only got the remaining aroma.

Very cool scent art, but to me a little more of a novelty to smell than something I want to wear.

Urbanskis

My father is an avid collector of fine whiskey. And I’m not joking when I say that the first hour of this smells exactly like one of his whiskeys. This scent is way to mature for everyone under 21 because people will think that you’re an alcoholic. Has this kinda raisin like sweetness with a bit of oak barrel in the background.

LeScent1

As soon as i tried this fragrance i instantly fell in love. I was planning on smelling all the nasomattos i hadnt already smelt, i tried 3 on skin - Baraonda, Pardon, Sadonaso. I felt Pardon was too harsh, i liked sadonaso but the pissy element made it inferior to Baraonda in my opinion (will probably pick it up eventually though). The fragrance that stood out to me was Baraonda.

On the initial scent you get blasted with the most beautiful, hyper-realistic scent of whiskey, after the first 30 ish seconds the woods start heavily coming through and start to dance with the whiskey, strong, masculine, but also could be worn by women. I can smell a slight rose, not a harsh rose, more of an aromatic rose, quite musky aswell. I tend to not trust fragrantica when it comes to alessandros fragrances and their notes because they are mearly guesses, but i think these notes are quite spot on. A slight cumin-esc type of scent, could be from one of the notes listed or a new note that hasnt been listen by fragrantica.

Materfully blended by the master perfumer alessandro gaultieri, beatifully sharp. I heard somewhere (not sure from who) that this smells like drunk italians walking home from the bar haha, and it is exactly that, a group of heavily intoxicated people walking home from the bar, passing by an old wooden building.

Overral a masterpieceful fragrance that deserves its spot in my collection.

#609 in my "Tour de Fragrance"

Got this as a sample from Scent Split. This is the booziest scent I have ever encountered. The opening was literally a burst of whiskey that I do not exaggerate when I say it took my breath away. Like swallowing an undiluted shot. Unlike my carpenter dad who could probably name the wood blindfolded, I can't quite pick it out, but it does kind of have the musty smell of a cognac barrel, which I'm guessing is the ambrette I'm picking up? I'm gonna get something to eat and come back to this in an hour.

Okay. No projection now. None. It's like all that is used up in the boffo opening. The skin scent is lingering, but not much. The scent on my skin is musky, earthy, kind of reminds me of a wet deer. I don't smell bad, but not shower fresh either.

Unique, but I think unless you apply it to your clothes (I don't) no one will get this as anything more than just how you naturally smell without fragrance. If you put nose to skin you can still get an impression of ambrette and a touch of wood. So only someone intimate would smell it and I would not expect them to roll their eyes in delight. I don't dislike it, there's just not much to it once it dries down. You can certainly wear this anywhere because I don't think anyone will notice. So obviously not date wear. This won't be a bottle buy for me.

KingKilo

By far, the most true whiskey scent I've ever smelled on a fragrance. But it's not like you're dousing yourself in booze, far from it. It's smooth, it's elegant, it's sophisticated, and it has a very nice, underlying sweet edge to it.
It smells rich, and when it cools down a bit, you can really pick up on those rose/flowery notes. Maybe a hint of vanilla and cinnamon.
I'd say it's a bit more male, but I can see this being unisex.

Great, great fragrance.

Coronna18

Ok, wait. What is this?? Very realistic whiskey scent with a hint of rose in the background. I am waiting my FB to arrive. Very pleasent surprise.
Unisex, very strong projection and longevity.
10/10

Smellmaxxer123

I would describe this as a group of drunk italians on their way home from moscow

Smellmaxer

Baraonda has a super and realistic smell of whiskey mixed with a little bit of honey or syrup. I would describe this fragrance as the smell of a subway with dried whiskey spilled on the floor on a Saturday night and everyone is wasted drunk.

Wiek_scents

Baraonda is by far the most mass appealing nasomatto a man can wear. starts off with a lot of whiskey, and later shifts into something that smells like an empty whiskey barrel with some syrup in it. There is definitely some notes missing which I think to be honey and/or patchouli. A fragrance to wear on a winter/fall day but can be worn at night all year round. Longevity is not as long as a lot of people claim it is(on my skin of course), about 6 hours. projection is medium but the sillage is very strony, leaves a long trail.
described in one sentence: boozy and sweet happiness
8.8/10

Presentscents

This smells exactly like when you let the remains of whiskey/scotch dry up in a cup. It’s quite remarkable and hands down the most realistic booze accord I’ve ever smelt... Unfortunately deep into the dry-down this fragrance kinda goes into a honey tobacco direction which I personally don’t prefer. Great performance and consider it a 10/10 masterpiece for its uniqueness

amanda0727

The opening smells like straight up whiskey, which does dissipate after 15 min. Then the wood notes comes in, which I am not fond of because it smells slightly burnt. I definitely get something smoky/leathery. Rose is very much in the background. Leans masculine. Doubt I will wear this as a female, but interesting enough to keep my decant. But this is an AMZING fragrance on a man.

Gingka

will get you compliments at the club.

TWN2RBO

2024 batch, still eternal longevity. I put three sprays around the neck yesterday and the next day after sleeping etc, I can still smell it when I move around. So I put this on yesterday and then went to donate some blood. The technician kept going on and on amount how much she loved the smell, she said it reminded her of something but couldn’t recall. I said it has notes of whiskey, she just laughed. She said “I don’t know but that is one of the best smells I’ve ever smelled.” I felt compelled to share this bc it’s not very often I get complimented on my fragrances. This is a very realistic smell of whiskey, but it’s musky, heavy, and perfectly spicy. Such a masculine smelling fragrance, yet keeps it clean. It’s not dark and dirty how I usually like. This is just a banger and I’m so happy they didn’t change the formulation from 6 years ago when I first smelled it. I will share this, on paper or just smelling the sprayer, it is not near as good and what it does on skin, at least for me.

sidesalad

I'd never drink a brown alcohol or be within smelling distance of a brown alcohol, but I'll wear this creamy spicy delight to every special date night from now to eternity. This baby lives in a protected dark corner of my home, cushioned from any potential insult, brought out for only those worthy enough to experience it.
I was once in an Uber where the driver demanded I put the name of this frangrance into his phone then cried with pure joy when I told him he could pick up his lost love at an inner city perfume store, he'd been searching the world for years before finding it. He gave me 5 stars.

croatus

It opens up way too boozy, my friend compared it to squashing grapes with your feet in 1900s, very intense, to the point of initially not wanting it.

But! after 0.5-1h the booziness calms down and I'm left with the most luxurious scent I've yet to smell. Even though I do not consider Baraonda to be something you can rock every day I need to have it. It's a statement perfume that you've made it in life and it's not apologetic about it at all. Definitely not every day nor office scent. This is a rare special occasion perfume.

The sleeve of the jacket I've worn when I was at perfumery had the scent around a week after and I was happy every time I sensed it - the smell even got back to my arm when I wore the jacket next few days!

10/10

By the way, too many people said that Pardon is the best Nasomatto perfume. I tried it and it has absolutely nothing on Baraonda. Baraonda is a rich guy driving a luxury Mercedes (I imagine scenario of a guy exiting that kind of car at a wedding wearing Baraonda). Pardon is a wallflower guy trying to be inoffensive wishing that a girl would give him a compliment on his perfume (if he gets it, I would imagine it would be out of pity). Pardon is trying to be everything and it does it good (sexy, luxury, elegance), but ends up doing nothing exceptionally well and has very weak performance for the price.

edoardopetrelli

I get the whisky, but this is too sweet/creamy IMO. Feels like a cheap whisky rather than an expensive one, like a Glen Grant. In the base I smell something similar to coconut (which others referred to as piña colada, not the kind of drink i want to be associated with). Of Gualtieri's perfumes I tried, this is the one I like the least for now. Will stick to Terroni and Black Afgano for now.

TWN2RBO

This is the king of oriental boozy fragrances. Straight beast mode longevity and scent trails for days. It really does smell like a whiskey accord with some fruits and honey. Amazing art in a bottle, down to the presentation. Crazy you can find this for so cheap now days, granted you only get 30 ml, but it’s so damn strong that works fine as it’s not a fragrance I feel like wearing all the time. A+ Nassomatto

alex23481

I am getting a distinctly beautiful note of honey that surrounds the whole composition and makes all the notes come together. Superb work by a very gifted perfumer.

sonny35

I usually don't like rose but the rose in this is amazing! Very addictive rose note that makes you come back for more sniffs of the arm. Easily the best rose in a fragrance I've ever smelt. I detect some cinnamon in the opening along with some other unlisted notes that I can't really make out what they are it seems a bit muddled if that makes sense. For me this has moderate projection (must be a recent batch) but very good longevity around 10 hours.

londoner20

Here we go again, another fine number from Nasomatto. Let’s put aside the price and the fact it’s a small bottle for the minute.
Whiskey barrels, sweet smokey wood, golden amber - what’s not to like? It’s strong. Use liberally. Go back and buy another bottle.
Why not? Who cares if somebody thinks you’ve crawled out of a bar? It’s a good way to get intoxicated, without any of the negative effects!
The fact it’s a small bottle will make you want to use it when it really matters; and every second counts. I want to wear this often. My wallet wants me to resist. Their plan is working. If I didn't own anything else but could have just one perfume, this could easily be it.

Tshahb

Whisky and burning roses; nutty darkness. Very compelling!

denis10

Synthetically sweet, cloying. Not a tad reminiscent of whiskey. Cool cap though

Michavl

This is what a romantic New Year’s Eve smells like to me. The burnt fireworks, roses and having some drinks. It all comes together in this perfume.

When you first spray it on you can’t really navigate through the chaos of notes but as you leave it on longer it gets more clear and smooth.

kerricj

holy shit. if you like oriental, sweet or boozy fragrances then you would definitely love this. this smells like a mixture of boozy fragrances i own, it has nuances of angels' share and tony iommi ms. The whiskey note smells so realistic mixed with that ambrette, ambroxan and musk. I'm pretty sure this has patchouli too even though its not directly listed but it falls under the 'woodsy notes' as listed. Very boozy, slightly floral from the rose and ambrette. Slightly earthy, woody & musky too.

Projection, longevity & sillage are really good. Sad that this only comes in a 30ml extrait bottle :( One of the best fragrances i've smelt so far & really wearable imo, nothing too dark or challenging. Unisex and 20yo+. Props to Mr Gualtieri 🙌🏻 10/10

MrMrBrian

I like quite a few of the Nassomatto fragrances But this one the most!! The realistic whiskey scent The oak barrel The airy sweetness it gives off as it’s drying down! This is right up there with the the Kilian Angels Share & Apple Brandy & L’Heure Whiskey line..Ugh Too expensive even from discounters in the little 30ml bottles to be a signature scent or it would be! I still had to get a 2nd bottle so I can actually use this one & not worry about running out.

Bloodlust

It’s been a minute since I’ve smelled a fragrance that was this compelling!

The opening is a gourmand delicacy of sorts- a dark chocolate, (almost fermented banana bread as someone mentioned below), warm cinnamon and boozy whiskey. When you give this a whiff, it hits my stomach as much as my senses - the familiar warm burn. Even a creme liqueur could be found in here. Hobbit second dessert kinda vibe. Very dark, no spun sugar here.

The deep (almost damp) wood accord makes this almost foreboding, as much as this is a cozy and delicious scent! Rose is a thought bubble here, you have the feeling of rose (with no discernible moment where it’s detectable. The blend is incredible.)

While this IS wearable for those who are more daring, I can imagine people not wanting to smell of this, as it almost is more of a home scent! Unisex and delightful, I am so excited by this one.

TheNose618

I just blind bought this and it's fantastic on its own.

The problem I have with it (and many other frags) is, it reminds me of other fragrances that came before it.

As soon as I sprayed it I got a good shot of whiskey with an equal dose of bright florals reminding me of (Voyage d'Hermes EDP).

After about 20-30min the floral aspect darkens and allows the whiskey, dark resins and woodsy notes to take center stage giving me the same vibes as Costume National Homme.

The end result is a 60/40 mix of Costume National Homme and Voyage d'Hermes EDP.

I don't regret the blind buy because Baraonda is phenomenal but if I had a do over I would have just bought a back up bottle of Black Afgano.

I can always layer Voyage and Costume National if I crave the Baraonda effect in the future but I will not be repurchasing Baraonda when this bottle is empty.

dianna.raspberry

am I the only one that smells a note of cheese, like brie or gorgonzola? it's so heavy lol

EdwardHeden

Wonderful scent. I disliked it at first but it got more and more addicting everytime i smelled it. Definetly a more grown and brave fragrance to wear, but i love it none the less. In my opinion it could be used in every season.

Mr. Bear

Very nice. In the opening I smell the whiskey obviously, but also a little bit of banana or conconut? This fades fairly quickly and leaves a nice sweet booze. Then the ambrette comes in, and this really reminds me of the one in dior homme intense, almost causes my mouth to water! I like it a lot.

THE_Scentaholics

This scent smell absolutely gray. Initial blast of whiskey settles into a whiskey, woody slightly rose frag that can be loved by most. This is not a screamer in terms of projection but lingers long after those initial sprays. Unisex imo. Fall and winter scent marvelously well blended. You can go heavy on the trigger without choking people out. The high ratings and reviews already well supported.
Wish it projected a little more but love the whiskey dominance!

Kylix

Alcoholic rose. But rose.

Esna

Boozy sexy yet lush and smells so expensive and who cares if it is or not, it’s smells it! If Dorisia existed, this would be a top tier drink on the menu and ordering it would show off your echelon status.

Mallufraghead

Whiskey on the rocks anyone? One of my all time favourite boozy scent with the perfect amount of sweetness and a woody backbone. The note of rose peeks through now and then but in the most subtle way. A true masterpiece from this beautiful house!

FloidnScotch

Had high hopes for this but the opening is extremely sweet. Looking at other reviews left me wondering if there's something wrong with my sample...

Ground hound

I don`t get clear whiskey from it. I get strong mulled wine (German -Xmas market- rum loaded mulled wine- if you know you know). And there is a piece of suede soaked in it. Not cold leather, but sweet soft suede. Soaked in strong mulled wine.
Boozy, gourmand, soft, slightly sweet-not too much, slightly woody.
Very well-layered as per usual with Nasomato. Comforting, warm, expensive. Night time, winter or autumn.

Lukasssss

This smells heavenly. Very smooth, slightly smokey, woody whiskey bomb with rose. I am not usually a fan of rose, but in here it is gorgeous and not at all like other rose notes I have smelled. Judging this fragrance by checking the notes and reading reviews would be a big mistake, it is so much more than meets the eye. For some inexplicable reason, Baraonda reminds me of my favorite fragrance - MCD Tobacolor. They do not smell similar at all, but they give me the same vibe - sophisticated and fancy, yet wild and mysterious. Baraonda gets a 9,5/10 from me.

DanataDante

You can’t have a drink? Well, it’s the next best thing…

If you are an experienced drinker this will immediately conjure up an image of a nice whiskey - maybe bourbon or Sherry cask. This is as comforting, as being in your favorite bar is. Makes you want to cosy up for a quiet night.

If you are NOT a drinker - this might repulse.
At least I’ve been told by my mother that I smell like a “years of alcoholism”. Maybe so, mother, but those clearly these were some good years.

Love to spray Baraonoda on me when I am in a store, but not planning to own a full sized bottle. A tad too situation specific.
Although I do feel like my bartender friends would have enjoyed this one.

Whateverwhocares

Starts out like a glass of whiskey. Tones down, with time, into a honey-sweet, boozy, rose and wood musk. Very nice. Pleasant. Need more time with this one.

Gorgeous, classy, deep boozy scent. Great for the Fall and the Winter.
It is also highly wearable and last forever.
Dont overspray as it is quite atomic. :-)

Pure and simple this is art. it is a wearable art. very few fragrances do this to me like baraonda does. fsd

The scent of a gentleman. Simply splendid old chap. Only Cads and Bounders need apply

PaddyOhFraiche

This smells like some sort of Victoria's secret pure seduction or love spell body spray/lotion. Not sure why ppl are saying it smells masculine, the rose note is very feminine floral dominant especially in the drydown. The opening few mins is a nice whiskey note that dissipates quickly. Big disappointment as I had high boozy expectations with this from opening to the drydown but I just can't get over that heavy rose note. If you don't like heavy floral roses you won't like this.

DariaFrancesca74

Alessandro Gualtieri the Caravaggio of Italian artistic perfumery. The magic of this warm fragrance evokes intimate, convivial atmospheres in front of a lit path on a winter night, a surprising vintage whisky, distilled in precious woods and fermented in fleshy and sublime rose petals. Olfactory experience worth living, unique fragrance of its kind, difficult to compare, elegant, refined. Chapeau

David Beny

My gosh, this is the type of fragrance that makes my whole body tinge. Performance and sillage are top notch. In the air no one will think of whisky but rather pina colada with honey and booze.
Amazing stuff!

PeopleTent

Glorious wearing experience this provided for me for the last couple of days. It stayed relatively linear, which I love because I want to smell what I initially sprayed on to not change. A niche fragrance that is mass pleasing( except not to some of those yuck mouth savages out there), very unique comforting sweet bozziness and can be worn by males of all ages that want the luxury of top notch ingredients. Well done Nasomatto. You have my perpetual mental applause.

Wife loves this on me. Which is a big plus. It is a very warm, intoxicating scent (read other reviews for perceptions). I got this on a big discount, which is still available as of this writing. If the discount is still in place when the bottle is empty, I'll get another.

Kat.Siobhan

The most beautiful realistic bourbon fragrance. Absolutely adore this on both myself and my partner, but definitely leans more masculine. Like a warm winter hug from a beautiful Nordic man in a wooden cabin. Devine.

Marcx

intoxicating. its that nice warm feeling you get after a glass or two. that sweet spot after the chaos. laying down on a leather couch, hookah smoke fills the air at an old penthouse party you crashed in Brooklyn and you're wearing rose 31 by le labo... for some reason you ended up in the library room dont ask me why theres hookah in the library. focus. its addictive. its smooth. i picked this over BA because its more my personality. bit harsh in the beginning but eventually mellows to a comforting blanket...that you are snuggling in that smoky library. 10/10

carlamner

Amazing scent! Very masculine and powerful. It’s as hard to smell your wrist, wearing this - as it was when you first had to swallow that first shot of pure high percentage spirit. Insanely boozy and incredibly repulsive, but a super scent nonetheless! Love it!! (Don’t wear it to a job interview and don’t wear while driving a car. Might be rather difficult to explain to a potential police officer stopping you, why you “stink” hard liquor…)

ILISLANDBOY

A drunk kindergartener. Realistic whiskey/bourbon, to the point that I could match it to one that I used to drink/spill on myself. Underlying wood note comes across as Play Doh. If I wore this to work, I think that HR would call me into their office.

Fragfragbagbag

Good lord and hallelujah! Between this, BA and Pardon this house makes absolutely beautiful, top tier fragrances.

The opening is a realistic whisky, good whisky and some smoky woody notes. And the dry down is a masterclass in balancing smoke, light floral notes with a light dry sweetness. The smoke note is extremely impressive. I also get some tobacco in the back with the ambrette. Expertly balanced.

I would say this is strictly an evening out cologne and I think you could go from flannel to suit with it. I would also categorize it is a fall and winter scent.

Fragrances don’t get better than this, at least for me. You will leave a wake of sexy, rugged sophistication. Men and women will gasp at the mere smell of you, gods will weep. And terrific performance/longevity. God. Damn.

I’ve tried 5 fragrances from this house and this is in the top 3, maybe top two (BA probably winning 1st). If you appreciate quality cologne this is a must try. Top of its class in every way and the reason I buy cologne in the first place. To smell amazing.

francesco_grieco

Baraonda by Nasomatto is a gourmand fragrance, a category I typically don't gravitate towards, but this one is an exception that truly stands out. It conjures an ambiance of soft, warm lighting, leather sofas, and cigars. While the whiskey note is certainly recognizable, to me, it bears a striking resemblance to a Boulevardier cocktail rather than just plain whiskey. Baraonda exudes an intensely boozy and sexy quality on a man, while it empowers on a woman. Plus, its projection and sillage are outstanding.

stopwhining65

This is NOT feminine. It opens up with a beautiful whiskey and then settles into a musky, woody, whiskey fragrance with a bit of rose in the background. To me the rose is very faint. This is a very photo realistic whiskey, so be prepared.
This is whiskey on the rocks in the opening, but man is it good. I love the dry down and it sticks to my skin for a long time. Brilliant and much better than kutay IMO. Definitely not an office fragrance. This is a night on the town fragrance.

xfrag01

I have a 5ml / 10ml decant of this, if anyone is interested contact me on instagram @fragrancedecants

Overpriced coconut rum fragrance. The scent is a 6/10 and this is not a fragrance that I would recommend checking out.

As you may know, every person can detect different hints of perfumes in general.
Woodworking being my hobby, i detect varnish notes and whiskey along potent wood.

This literally smells like Johnnie Walker Blue Label 🥃

Mentamo

This is great!

Many here rate this a fall and winter scent, but I'd say summer evenings 100%.
To my nose this smells like a drink during sunset in the summer, at a beach club.

Whiskey, rum, coconut, sweet.. my favourite from the house.
This one I can see being worn by both men and women honestly.

Lasts long, projects well.

Worth the money :)

SANKUYO

This perfume is honestly one of my favorites from Nasomatto. It is so strong with a hyper-realistic whiskey note paired with a beautiful floral woody undertone that is to die for! If you love boozy fragrances, this is one of the best! Here’s hoping you don’t get stopped by the police with this on cause you will be asked to do a breathalyzer test! 😂

California90210

A must have perfume!!

Uglylucy7

Smells like I’m somewhere old and posh, yet still relevant. The crowd is dimensional. Old, young, established, aspiring mix together seamlessly. Someone is smoking a cigar. A woman leans on the leather chair I’m lounging in and I can smell the sweetness of her long hair.

I lean back, trace my fingers across the carved wooden accents of the small table holding my drink. I lift my glass and realize the theater I’m watching has played in this space longer than I’ve been alive. I toast the room and take a drink. Two days later the night is a resinous memory still holding my hand.

Javy_Medz

Very intense smoky incense along with a thick, bitter honey in the opening. Almost potpourri-like on initial blast. As the fragrance sits on your skin, the sweetness starts to push through.

Within the first hour, a lot of the abrasiveness subsides and the rose and musk mallow begins to shine through.

dahliarare

Baraonda, Baraonda, Baraonda. Where to begin with you.
There is a little bit of black magic in here, and it taunts you with notes that seem to change every time you smell it, and performance that fluctuates based on how much attention it wants to elicit from you on a given occasion.
The first time I smelled this, it was instant love. That doesn't happen often. But like a handsome, talented, too-good-to-be-true lover, it lovebombs you to lure you in. And once it has you right where it wants you, kissing its feet in mutual worship, you begin to feel at times it doesn't even acknowledge that you exist. Is that a bad thing? Not necessarily. Some might say it adds excitement to the romance.

At times, this really portrays the most photorealistic whiskey accord in the opening. Its gorgeous, sweet narcotic booziness is accented by the corked cap, which plays into the illusion that you are really getting intoxicated by it.
The science of alcoholic beverages is such that the more you chase the initial buzz, the less you are able to attain it. The more you drink, hoping to feel as good as you did when you started drinking, the worse you feel. That's sort of how Baraonda works. You cannot chase the high of that boozy opening, but rather appreciate it and let it settle into its next phase. You cannot try to control or encapsulate Baraonda. When you want to introduce it to your friends, all the qualities you've been gushing about will elude you, just for fun.

Baraonda-- "chaos" or "noise" in Italian-- can shine on its own in an intimate setting, and really does smell like the excitement of a new lover once you realize, drunkenly, that you've sealed the deal and you will be spending the night together. It can add intrigue to your other fragrances if you play your cards right (and are into that sort of thing...)

This is a special fragrance, definitely worth a try. The narcotic profile reads as a mildly sweet floral gourmand in the dry down. With all this being said, it definitely stands out to me and I've never smelt anything quite like it before.

xinhngusi

Ambroxan vs Musk in this bottle are very smooth!! Love the whiskey tho

Avogard

On paper it was nice - boozy and a bit sweet. I blind tested it and guessed baraonda correctly - really fits the description.

On the skin though...booze turned into burnt plastic. Very unpleasant and strong. But when I think about whiskey - i really feel the strong whiskey smell. Nothing else though (well, a bit smoky). It doesn't give me old whiskey barrell vibes - it's more like how I imagine methanol would smell like lol. People say this is photorealistic - maybe too realistic, given I'm not a big fan of whiskey. Performance is awesome though (unfortunately).

Also this gives me fish vibes. No idea why - there is no fish in the smell. But somehow I imagine this.

AlaskanAngel

Interesting. In the opening I get booze soaked raisins and coconut. It's so well blended that I can't detect any patchouli, and I hate patchouli. Warm and gooey. I don't see coconut on the notes. Creamy, warm, sweet, smooth, rich... what am I smelling? Sun warmed dates with crushed raw almonds? This is kinda amazing.

I enjoy smooth unisex gourmands grounded in woods. This was made for me. If the drydown doesn't become too musky or lean toward that dreaded patchouli, this might turn into love.

Review of blind-buy 5mL spray. Very pleasantly surprised.

UPDATE
The honey accord just grows and grows until it becomes too strong for my liking. It's similar to AMOUR NOCTURNE but that one has the gunpowder note to control the sweetness and the honey doesn't become more pronounced over time like it does here.

Slightly

As I inhaled, the unmistakable aroma of freshly baked bread filled my nostrils, infused with the heady scents of raisin, rum and whiskey. The sweet, warm and sophisticated fragrance was simply delicious, leaving me in awe.

As the scent lingered, notes of wood and amber emerged, but the boozy whiskey and bread remained at the heart of it all.

Taurien

I had in my mind that Baraonda would be a challenging perfume. However, I have found a very balanced composition.

It has a realistic whiskey opening and a drydown in which this drink is accompanied by woods and something animalic but soapy at the same time, extremely delicate. After about half an hour the perfume sweetens. After a few hours I begin to notice a smoky touch as well.

It has a moderate projection and lasts on my skin for 8-9 hours.

I think it is a wonderful perfume and, although I don't know if I'll ever buy it, I was delighted to discover it.

MrFragranceReview

I was very excited to try this one out as I'm a large Bourbon fan and this was touted often as the best whiskey dominant fragrance. Unfortunately, this is not whiskey, but mostly honey and other spicy and sweet notes. This a honey dominant fragrance and while pleasant, is not what I was looking for. It's mostly a honey sweetness combined with vanilla, caramel and amber with a generic woodiness.
Disappointing considering the price point as well.

Still A Great Night

A truly addictive fragrance, perfect for an autumn or winter night out. HUGE compliment grabber, and the whiskey note is borderline mouth-watering. Warm, masculine, and sexy as hell. Sillage and performance are great with only two sprays. Well worth the money.

alex23481

Is it discontinued? I wanted to buy it, but in my country, all the online stores that sell it have zero stock. What is happening?

maplesyrup

This, to me, is a more affordable version of Cartier's Oud & Ambre, the latter of which is one of the best amber fragrances I have experienced.

lmnsvgz

IT SMELLS LIKE WERTHER'S ORIGINALS PLUS A HINT OF WHISKEY. Oh my god. I finally discovered what it smells like to my nose

It is VERY good.

tmonique11

This is truly fantastic! Its just a tad too far masculine leaning for my personal wearing tastes, but I pray to have a man in my life wear this captivating scent. The whiskey note is not too boozy but give an air of distinction and order. OMG this is good good!

Cdub5_

This is truly a beautiful fragrance!

Admittingly, I wasn't a big fan, at first, due to the overwhelming whiskey accord in the opening. Seriously, this smells like you spilled a glass of whiskey on your arm and shirt. Personally, having many, many, many bad run-ins with whiskey this immediately provoked those distant memories I've buried in the far corners of my mind...uugghhh!

Then I wore Baraonda again, but this time it was different. Yeah, the whiskey is there, and it always will be, but I was able to move past that and smell the rest of the fragrance. There is this beautiful sweetness that catches my nose as I move around, honestly one of the most beautiful sweet smells I've come across.

Yes, I have not worn this extensively, but Baraonda has most definitely leaped completely from the bottom of my like list to a very top contender, I find it to be that awesome.

Fragrances like this end up being some of my favorite of all time. I actually despise them at first, but over time I keep coming back to them and I find more and more I love about it and before I know it I have a new favorite fragrance :)

Can't wait to get more wearings with this!!

SmokeyLady

It is nice but not for me. More masculine in my opinion along with Duro and Pardon. Very realistic whiskey note. I think it might be my least favorite from this (my favorite) brand.

Pulp

I guess this is the only Gualtieri fragrance that you can (almost) blind buy. I love it, it's magical. This is my secret weapon

jbernz14

Have a nearly full bottle (97% full) with original box for sale. PM if interested.

snifftacular

This smells like the most amazing sangria you've ever tasted. It's boozy, fruity, and floral at the same time. There's also an effervescence to this scent that is very nice, almost as if to this sangria you'd top it off with some sparkling soda right before serving. To me this seems more feminine leaning, but unisex. The right kind of guy could pull this off, and on a very feminine woman it would smell irresistible.

Incredibly well blended and smooth. The scent is strong and dense, for sure a statement piece like most fragrances from this house. There's no doubt about the quality of the formulation. Winter and Fall are perfect for this.

Is it for me? Not so much. I got samples of Nasomatto purely for intellectual curiosity, and expanding my knowledge of perfumery. Despite not being able to wear it, I appreciate the craft and the artistry behind this fragrance and the house.

stopwhining65

What’s to say that hasn’t already been said. It’s a gorgeous, sexy, boozy masterpiece. Once it dries down the whiskey is wrapped in woody notes and musk. Sexy AF.

Guts-scents

The best boozy fragrance ever. The Whiskey note here can compare, but smoother than on Pure Malt. Baraonda have a very heavy woody feels. It's deep and dark. Rose absolute also give a floral aspect and make this scent so wonderful. The musk also give a light feel at the base, a fluffy feels. What a wonderful scent.

FragBoy Stewie

If you're from the Indian sub-continent, then you know exactly what the opening of this one reminds you of - Meetha Pan! :D
That's not a bad thing though. It's a fruity, syrupy whiskey that's extremely pleasing to the senses and worth owning for a deal<$100. My 4th best from the house behind BA->Pardon->Duro and FBW (IMHO)

Enrium

Baraonda is easily the most wearable Nasomatto scent I've tried. In essence, it is a whiskey dominant scent with boozy fruits, rich woods, sweet vanilla and a balsamic amber base. There is a nice spiciness too, enhancing the other notes to perfection. It reminds me in parts of Elizabeth & James Nirvana Bourbon and By Kilian Angels' Share. The use of ambroxan here is inspired - its measured use rounds out and enhances the amber base instead of weighing it down (and perhaps serves as a performance booster too).

Baraonda (a quick Google search informed me that this is the Italian for "chaos") opens with boozy, fruity notes. I get apple, plum and a little citrus. These just serve to enhance the overarching whiskey note which permeates this scent. Spicy notes add warmth, bringing to mind hot cider flavoured with cinnamon initially. A clove note emerges after a while, bringing to mind hot whiskey. Ambrette tempers the alcoholic haze of the whiskey note nicely, adding a balsamic softness in the base.

A it develops, rich woody notes emerge later, giving the effect of whiskey maturing in oak casks. I get some jammy rose here, complementing the wood beautifully. It is an inspired addition to a whiskey-dominant scent. Vanilla adds a hint of sweetness as it dries down, becoming a sweet amber skin scent with boozy woodiness remaining until final fade. Ambroxan is evident here, but it just rounds out the amber. It fades to a musky whisper of ambroxan which lingers on the skin before fading. Sillage is strong and longevity is long-lasting.

Unisex, even masculine-leaning depending on taste, this is well-composed and with high-quality ingredients - one of the best boozy scents I've tried. Woody-amber goodness with a dash of good-quality whiskey. Best worn in autumn/winter. No chaos here - just smooth, rich cohesion. 4.5/5.

montgomery99

Surprisingly sweet! There is a vanilla/carmel like accord in this, which makes it sweeter than the notes above suggest. The "whiskey" note also reminds me more of a hot cider, spiked with apple and cinnamon. The rose is musky and slightly oily. I find the alcohol quality to fade relatively quickly (1-2hrs), and what's left is a beautiful blend of fruity woods, rose and vanilla. The deep dry down smells mostly of ambroxan.

It's very wearable, in my opinion. No one is going to guess that you're wearing a "whiskey" fragrance without you telling them, so I wouldn't be worried about smelling like an alcoholic. I wouldn't label it as a blind-buy due to how sweet it is, but I can't imagine someone else not liking this on you. I find this house does unique scents incredibly well, maintaining their wearability and appeal to those around you.

drakelito

Whiskey mixed with wood and rose, I really like this one.

Seuni

So my second comment, now that I own it after sampling.

There's a lot of whisky in here, in a realistic, not super sweet cozy kind of way. It's woody and musky - to the point, I'll be honest with you, in the opening it smells a bit like a man drunk on whisky. There's a lot, for my nose, of powdery rose in the back. The musk's here have a waxy feeling, too, which join the idea of a whisky bottle with a waxed top. The rose - it's noticable, but it helps with that whisky-sweat feeling. The ambrette here softens the harsher, heavier woods a bit with that fluffy sweetness it has - it's still not overly sweet, the woods are dry, but the whisky tone is sweetened, if that makes sense. When you sniff into it there's more than that - I get some cherry pipe tobacco, too. Raspberry, maybe. There's some kind of red berry I think, or maybe wine? Mulled wine? There is a red wine aspect to it, too. When it dries down there's a baked apple note, I think, too. It diess down even a bit smokey, like juniper or vetiver maybe - I guess, since the apple. Overall there's a lot of ingredients in here in my opinion, if you know how to look for those. It's very complex.

It's a complex, very niche approach to whisky. The presentation is beautiful, the sprayer is great, the juice is potent and quality. Best for fall and winter, good evening out perfume. Unisex, not blind buy worthy - it's divisive.

It reminds me a bit of Jovoy Pavillon Rouge - this one is darker and harsher, but there's definitely some similar ingredients between the two.

dudebro

After falling in love with Pardon and Fantomas, I decided to blind buy Baraonda.

Out of the bottle, the scotch is undeniable. it even has some smokey peatyness. Though not unpleasant, I like that the scotch fades quickly, and Baraonda becomes very woody and very rosey on my skin.

The ambrette slowly becomes the star of the dry down, and ties the scotch, dry woods, and florals together. the result is ultimately a smooth, slightly sweet, and irresistible fragrance.

overall this was a great blind buy, and I'm excited to collect more Alessandro Gualtieri.

kozlowski

I get lots of smoke with this, and it's gradually sweetened and floral-ed as it dries down
certainly has a lot of strong character, I love it
after 6+ hours I get a beautiful honey chocolate smell.. amazing

khoi0402

Very boozy on the first spray. I can instantly spot the whiskey note, honey and rose immediately. Somehow it was too sweet for my taste, and a bit cloying. Maybe I live in a tropical zone, and that night was a hot summer night in the club. But still, i prefer sweet with something spicier, not just plain sweet like this. Overall it was an interesting fragrance, unique, but not something I want to wear.

karifragrance

I'm currently wearing Baraonda, and on my skin I can smell honey-rose with some woods, but not so much whiskey as I thought. Lasts 5-6 hours on my skin with a weak sillage. The best season when you can wear it is fall, for winter I would look for something spicier.

Mr_Azara

This to me on this skin is a more sophisticated version of TF Tobacco Oud

Zuziafruzia

I was looking for a honey smell and this caught my attention because it smelled like mead. I see how it could be whiskey, but to me it’s mead and I loved the boozy smell. Too bad that the booze is gone so quickly and all you are left with is a pretty generic flower scent with the slightest hint of wood.

MarkFL

Very different on paper than skin. On paper it opens with the mentioned whiskey note. And then turns into a creamy rose.
On my skin, it opens with the whiskey, but never moves so far into rose as it did on paper. First 30min it’s a strong boozy note, next 30min it becomes floral. Then at about an hour it shifts to a slightly a sweet, musky scent that has a slight smokiness? Not in an incense way, more of a burnt marshmallow way. All in all very nice date scent. Probably year round, slightly more masculine, definitely night time. Day time if you let the booze note wear itself off first (spray an hour before you go out hah).

mimeex

Baraonda is very boozy and soft. Every person mentions that it smells like whiskey here, but I don't think it smells exactly like whiskey, but has that nice tasty alcoholic smell that comes from whiskey and other liquors. All I can smell is some vanilla and caramel with some apple accord to it - it smells almost like some fine sweet dessert that you want really taste in the air. If you like Angel's Share by Kilian or By The Fireplace by Maison Margiela (they are not same scents or very similiar, but the same type of scents) you will like Baraonda also. When I wear Baraonda, I usually get very positive reactions. I would consider this fragrance to be gourmand. The longevity is pretty decent (5 hours +) and people will catch the scent from you for sure. Is it worth it? I think so. I find this to be very appealing.

mithr

- buttery popcorn
- kind of like a nice old hotel lounge with hints of cigar
- dry and pleasant
- like a mix of old books and a buttery potpourri (in a good way)

slight whiskey bitterness but doesn't smell like whiskey to me

My brother thinks this smells too old-school / mature, maybe because of the rose note. I think it's beautifully blended though.

derby2169

Finally a store in my area carries Nasomatto fragrances, a house people just can't stop talking about.
Running to the store I immediately go for Baraonda, being a big fan of boozy fragrances and having done my research.
Spraying it on I am just left completely perplexed.
A fruity synthetic rose accord over ambrettolide (ambrette seed musk), a whiskey note appears in the fuzzy musk only to flutter into the obscurity of the dense sweet musk. Synthetic wood notes and fuzzy musks is all I am left with over the last 10 hours.
I don't understand Baraonda, nor Nasomatto, the way I don't understand people who wear golden printed shirts, my main questions remains why would you wear this?

Jokes aside, this is the exact opposite of what I enjoy in fragrance, structurally and stylistically. I enjoy Pardon, but the rest of the line is clearly not meant for me.

pianogoon

A bit too boozy for my taste, opens with a heavy whisky from the bottle note then dries down mellower with a woody, vanilla, whisky thing going on.

It smells like going into the tasting room of a whisky distillery, with a boozy, woody mildly alcoholic feel.

It’s very well done and super cool that a perfumer can replicate this smell, but I don’t want to smell like this.

Not for me

SMDaka

Got a sample due to the high praise and maaann this perfume is nauseating (maybe it's cos I don't drink lol). There's a sweetness to it but the booziness overpowers it - it's just not it for me, sorry.

Fountain30

This is a mature and fairly straight forward whiskey perfume. I don't really get much rose but the whiskey and woody notes are hyper realistic and perfectly blended.
Performance is good as to be expected with Nasomatto and this one projects well with just a few sprays (although isn't overwhelming)
Probably more male leaning but could also appeal to the woman who prefers darker more resinous scents.
Can be worn throughout the year just be mindful not to overspray during high heat.

felipehamm

This is the most photorealistic perfume that I have ever smelled. Simply putting, It's the most luxurious and captivating whiskey note you'll ever put your nose on. This is a fragrance that made me really see how perfumery can be a true form of art.

safetyguy51

I loved reading a review below, wherein the writer describes the bar top with spilled drinks, the polish, and people. Brilliantly painted picture and accurate to the T! When I have it on me though, I am immediately transported back to a quaint hookah lounge in my hometown of San Antonio. Anyone from there will know Sultan. The aroma of the shisha and the coals and the leather seating is all present for me. I am overwhelmed with joy at this fragrance. I received it as a gift for my birthday from my girlfriend’s father. He has a wonderful small collection of very fine fragrances, which included this as well as BA from the same house. He just prefers a little less boozy experience for himself, so I was gifted a full hand-me-down bottle. And I, on the other hand, could not be more into the boozy juice. *Bentley Intense is one of my favorite cold weather gems*. Baraonda is the polar opposite end of that spectrum. The smell of a perfectly smoked old fashioned is precisely what I get off the top, and throughout the life of the fragrance with deep whiffs close to my arm. From there, the dry down is a bit linear for the next few hours. Once everything has finally settled, I get an almost “bright” woody rose that is simply divine. I wish there was a way I could make sense of why I get shisha smoke from it for you all, but that’s all I got. I’ll be honest, it’s one of the nicest things I’ve ever smelled in general, fragrance or otherwise. Of course that’s a wildly subjective statement to make, but it just works for my nose. My girlfriend smells incredible wearing it as well, and it really dances to its own rhythm on her skin. This is a fully unisex fragrance though. For the masculine type going after it, take it easy on the sprayer. 2 pumps would be pushing it. I can assure that the complexity, obvious quality of ingredients, and overall statement it makes won’t go unnoticed by anyone lucky enough to have you near them after you put it on. All season? Sure! Of course it’ll work new and exciting wonders in the colder months, but if you know you aren’t going out to purposely work yourself into a sweat this summer, then go for it.

Ravelloff

Opens up with a strong burst of whisky that quickly develops a slightly bitter and animalic undertone. A faint flowery and slightly sweet note begin to emerge alongside a separate but very noticeable whiff of smoke. It then settles into a mixture of wood polish, hair spray and cigarettes. At around 4 hours into wearing it, Baraonda reaches it’s final form. It smells like the end of a night out spending someone else’s “old money”. It smells like the actual bar top, the spilt drinks on it, the wood polish, the leather seating and the people who sit on it. Give it time, and it becomes really quite intriguing. Baraonda in Italian means a chaotic crowd of people moving in different directions. This scent achieves that exactly. Oddly enough, the perfume also smells “female”, yet I believe it would compliment a wearer with a distinctly masculine energy.

xRedStarx

This is the smell I used to get at my old grandparents house when I opened one of their antique wooden closests. Fermented cask wood with a hint of floral sweetness.

retroniche

There are many whisky accord centered niche fragrances in the market, but this one is probably the one which smells the most exclusive among them IMO, it doesn't smell just after an oak barrel aged single malt double scotch, but it truely smells like the distillery of scotch whisky. Purest quality. I truely adore it.The musky and ambery accords framing it, balance out the bitterish aspects of scotch quite well and the tiniest amount (almost not noticeable) touch of rose makes it even more likeable.

Katmit

Listen, I’m going to need y’all to keep quiet about this one. I heard/read people saying this is the “new baccarat rouge 540” which is confusing because yes, they’re both woody ambers, but while baccarat goes the burnt sugar rouge, Baraonda goes boozy, jammy rose. Both sexy, but if I walk into a room with 100 people all wearing either of these, I’m walking out. There can be too much of this perfume, but luckily, I find that to be a good thing. I’d rather have a 1 oz beast performer with only needing one spray for the day than a 3 oz semi-decent performer with the additional charge of a travel spray to apply throughout the day. Anyway, this is my next full bottle purchase, but I’m waiting until September to get it because it’s definitely a cooler scent for me. So I need y’all to not speak too much on it so they don’t jack up the price. But I think we should all get it and be twinsies but be in separate rooms when we wear it so I don’t go into sensory overload. Okay thanks for reading bye.

ssrraa

I love nasomatto as a brand, but this perfume… I don’t know what they were thinking. Smells like a sleazy man with alcohol breath who just got out of a brothel and still has the stank of cheap rose cologne from a prostitute on his clothes (no offese to prostitutes) which mixes with his whiskey breath. Literally gave me nausea and a sense of weird anxiety. Do not blind buy. Trust me.

JohnMc

If you're looking for a fragrance symbolised by rich, warm tones, with an indulgent, boozy aspect, reminiscent of fine surroundings, cultured friends and oak-panelled living spaces - then this is a fragrance you will like very much! Smoky, boozy and rich, this fragrance grabbed the attention of my fiancee as soon as I sprayed it. We're talking a fragrance that catches folks' attention - in a good way and harvests compliments. One of my new favourites...

NOSEYBODY

The Whiskey note here is true to the scent of actual Whiskey. Its very smooth & without any of the nose stinging alcohol & rough edges that you'll experience with an actual cheap Whiskey.

Baraonda is very well blended. It has the true scent of Fermentation, which smells like Esters.

QUOTE: "Esters are a group of compounds created during fermentation when the combination of yeasts produces alcohol and fatty acids. It bears a distinctive smell that tends to be either flowery or fruity." End Quote

It smells fermented, but with a fruit nuance rather than smelling like actual Fermenting Fruits. Its very different than what you get with other Niche Quality Booze Notes.

Baraonda smells like Whiskey thats been spilled on an Oak Table in the hot sun that hasnt been wiped up after a week, & you smell Wood, Boozy Fermentation, & Ambry Sweetness.

Its a thick scent, kind of like Amber or molasses but its not oppressive. Its like a heavy sweetness with fermented nuances of caramelized sugar, cherry cola, root beer, pistachios, apple skins, cinnamon, & peach cobbler.

Imagine going to a distillery & smelling an 18 year old Whiskey inside an Oak Barrel & getting whiffs of the Booze & the Barrel. Thats this.

If you ever wanted a fragrance that smells like Booze & nothing else, this is as photorealistic as it gets.

All that said, does Kutay smell like Baraonda ?

Kutay smells like a poorly blended dry down of Baraonda with extremely rough edges. I wouldnt buy Kutay over Baraonda. I would choose Quality over Quantity in this case.

PeachPerfume

Whiskey, whiskey and more whiskey. I used to work in a gentleman's bourbon bar in college in NYC and this smells exactly like the place. Lots of resin (reminiscent of the rosin from a violin bow), woods, and musk make this fantastic on the dry down. As a woman, I'd love this on a man, but it is a bit too powerful for me to wear (may be a good thing for other people though). I'm still in search of a boozy fall fragrance - gave angles share, initio side effect and this a try so far. I really like all three, and this one is probably the longest lasting and booziest to me.

IamdrinkingBeer

Boozy floral candy. Radically different from everything Nasomatto has done. It is a really friendly easy to like scent.

Luluteeter

This is so realistically whisky I imagine a recovering alcoholic would have an extremely tortured time wearing it.

Travdog1985

Don’t listen to those below… this smells very boozy- like the cask soaked in whiskey. I get good lasting power as well. Almost smells like something you’d want to taste! Haha. Awesome scent

alaspoorwho

A perfectly fine fragrance, dominated on me by intense rosy/jammy sweetness from the start. I think the notes that read as whiskey or booze to most people strikes me more like caramel. The woods come through with a bit of peppery tang once the initial solvent rush evaporates. The notes seem pretty linear, uncomplicated and simple. The net effect is quite young, feminine, joyful. The girlish vibe is underscored by how much of a scent memory this gives me to my childhood best friend's bottle of Debbie Gibson's Electric Youth. I can 100% feel the worn out Garfield comforter she had on her bed when I first spray this. Happy to wear this from time to time around the house for a personal pick-me-up.

Punkrockbebop

I was told this was a good boozy perfume, and I’m so disappointed. I expected whiskey and depth, based on what I’ve read. But there is only a promise of whiskey in the opening, then it immediately dries down to a vague, sweet, powdery wood-pulp-and-musk mush. It feels like a mistake in the composition, or like the dregs left over after extracting something great. It just has none of the character or depth that a boozy perfume should have. This is a beige musk perfume, with “interest”, nothing more.

Arber Cami

Opens up really boozy and woody. After a while it settles to a smoky woody boozy scent with a little floral notes in the background. Good scent.

WGG

Cask aged whisky - a lighter blend or malt, not smoke or peat - with rose. Somehow Baraonda combines good performance with a lightness and in truth it leans a bit feminine, perhaps because I find the rose dominant and there's some sweetness. The combination is quite delightful, mouth watering even, and is like nothing else in my collection. Lovely stuff.

Cymbopogon

This one is Great blended opens with woody oakcase whiskey and a touch of honey. The dry down Its sweet woody and smooth musky the projection is incredible after all the experienced with this fragrance. In my mind just feel like I am sitting with someone who had been drinking all night in a nice classy jazzclub he or she is very attractive and very well dressed sitting in a dark corner of the bar enjoy his or her own company mysterious, troubles, mature, sexy and alluring to look at.
truly unique and very high quality fragrance I do appreciated this work of Art and love it but I just can’t see my self wearing this one my personality will never matched with it perfectly.

mhobol

Baraonda is a great fragrance! Whisky and woods in a an almost perfect blend. Projection and longevity is good. It manages to be both cozy and sexy. A night time scent. Unfortunately - and this actually makes me a bit sad - this is just a bit too sweet for me and it seems to get even sweeter in the dry down. But god do I love the sunny woods that peeps through. I have thought about this one a lot, but the sweetness is holding me back from buying it. I don't agree that this is a typically mature fragrance. Anyone can pull this off, and a young person wearing this would be very cool.

ginsengroot

Truly lovely whiskey fragrance that is plagued by an obnoxious coconut note in the opening that sticks around for far too long. A little too tropical and sweet for me because of this!

diluted paintbox

To answer the previous reviewer; I am most def below 40 and I don't see any problem pulling it off.

So yes, this is woody whiskey. But don't be fooled, this is sweet. On my skin, it feels very chocolate, although there is no chocolate actually in it. Probably it is the powdery rose note or the stickiness of the whiskey. I've tried many rose-chocolate perfumes, so maybe this is where the association comes from.

At first, there is a strong alcoholic vibe, I would definitely advise alcoholics to avoid this.
Then, it settles down and becomes warm powdery woods with a little bit of sharpness. In a way, it is truly mature, but if you don't overspray it, it is cozy and seductive.

I love it, but cannot wear it all the time, sometimes it just feels too heavy, maybe too masculine for me.

The juice is strong, but I find it quite special.

Seuni

This scent has a lot of powdery rose in the background. The ambroxan brings a deeelicate leathery, salty feeling. The front of this smell is the closest to reality whisky note I have ever found in a fragrance to this day. The joining woods are not harsh or patchouli-dark/gothic, they're slightly sweet, smooth, and dry.

This is much more user-friendly than Duro or Pardon. This is unisex, might be a bit too masculine for some women beucase the forefront whisky and woods, and too feminine for some men because of the powdery rose part.

Moderate projection, 12+h with a great sillage. Autumn, early, cold spring, winter. More of a nighttime than daytime.

That's a great, heavy, whisky (but not alcoholy), rosey woody scent. It is daring, you need quite a character to pull this off below 40 years old - but it's doable, it's not an old man's scent.

This has, I don't know - either an accord, or a substance - that is also present in Kilian's Angel's Share. It's like vanilla-like sweet, cinnamon, gourmand, woody scent. It smells sweet, but in a way royal sweet, not sugary or sticky. This reminds me of a pipe tobacco, vanilla honey and, mostly, super expensive vanilla and cinnamon cereals.

I can't understand why you'd choose Angels' Share over this. It's actually way cheaper, stronger, longer lasting, more artistic, deeper, more interesting and way more natural.

Becs9310

This is my favourite Nasomatto to this day. I've only tested Pardon, which did not really fit me. Not a bad perfume, could not just get it right.

Baraonda is boozy. I have been enjoying single malts and rum for about 10 years now. I collect whisky on a small scale. And all I got to say is, wow! This starts out as a single malt matured in rum cask, or even more like a rum matured in whisky casks. And it follows thru all the way, with a base of wood, which suits perfect for the whisky/rum note.

This does not smell like alcohol or like an alcoholic. This perfume just have the goodness from the whisky/rum. Anyone that's into drinking whisky/rum neat as an enthusiast and picking notes, knows what I'm talking about.

This and Profumum Roma Patchouli is by this day my two favourites, with the company of Golden Dallah.

If you're into whisky or rum, atleast try this out. I love it.

iwantamaybach

smells just like my alcoholic father

Rgpick

Wow, this is something else! I got several samples of Nasomatto scents and this was the first one I tried on skin.

Opens with a massive burst of bourbon. Being a whiskey fan, I enjoy it, but you really need to like booze scents. I don't get any other hints immediately, but after about 5-10 minutes I start getting the subtle hint of the wood and a lovely, sweet touch of rose. It acts to just lighten up the whiskey scent and add a lovely dimension to the fragrance.

During the dry downs, the whiskey further subsides and I get more wood notes with the background of the rose continuing. They work perfectly together, creating a perfectly comfy, inviting fall/winter scent. This would be wonderful for a casual get together I think but could also work more formally. Projection is great; I used one spray in my elbow and smell it easily.

This is a wonderful, unique, and artistic scent. The only thing holding it back a bit is I'm not sure how often I'd see myself wearing it out. It might be one of those "just for me" scents.

Cdub5_

This actually gave me the sensation that I just took a shot of whiskey just by smelling this fragrance right after spraying it. My throat and chest had a warming sensation overcome that area. I even began to salivate more, pretty wild lol!

This is probably the most realistic whiskey fragrance I have ever smelled. So much so that I would be concerned to be pulled over by the police while wearing Baraonda.

For now, being an extrait and all, I am happy with a 3ml sample as that should last me quite a while.

TheSniffer

Whoever voted for “intimate” sillage and “very weak” longevity is having a laugh. I use one spray of this stuff and it fills the room and leaves me fighting for clean air, and I can still smell it on me the next day. This stuff is seriously no joke. I have to hold my sample like 2ft from my nose to smell it because if I sniff the atomiser directly it’s like someone shot an entire bottle of whiskey up into my sinus cavity.

The highest quality smelling fragrance I’ve personally ever tried. This stuff hits my nose and sinuses in a way unlike anything else, it’s like 3D smelling... the composition is in a different league to what most people will have smelled before. Incredible stuff.

Obviously though, you have to love whisky/boozy notes. Like, a lot.

mister_chaz

Fantastic fragrance, seriously. Amazing interpretation of whiskey and wood. Dry down is smooth and delicious. Lasts a long time. Unfortunately, way too boosy for me. Do not spray it on yourself immediately before driving.

Dunkin11

After wearing this for a few days I've realized what this reminds me of. Johnnie walker green label single malt scotch. I can't imagine it would be easy for anyone to appreciate the subtle inflections of the first 2 hours of this without alot of whiskey experience. This is masterfully crafted, I can't smell it after about 2 or 3 hours but I haven't had a chance to inquire of others wether they can.

Not a young person's fragrance at all, in fact I wouldn't say this is a regular person's fragrance. This is sophisticated and classy (something I am not).

James bond wears this when he goes down to the casino to play poker with the bad guy and seduces the chick that's on all the advertisements. it will be hard for me to find occasions to wear this even if I have to hold poker tournaments at my house and ask my wife to dress like a classy hooker!

pianomonk

It is exceptional; the smell reminds me of drinking buffalo trace bourbon. It is very dry and airy but maintains a strong presence. I usually do two sprays as three projects hard off me. The dry down is on another level, it reminds me of fresh vanilla ice cream, and I get whiffs all day with this one. It was a true masterpiece and an instant 10/10 as soon as I smelled it on the strip. I would say that this works well on men as I wouldn't enjoy this smell on my girlfriend before the drydown.

CAF911

It’s got a touch of bottle depot in there, doesn’t it?
No one else smells that?

First impression after a few days; not loving it.

Edit: came back to it a few months later and that note is gone. Much better.

marcel2782

Smells like someone dipped a generous piece of pink cotton candy in a glass of fine single malt scotch and rubbed it in your nostrils. To the wearer, it feels like a very refined and somewhat cozy boozy aroma. To everyone else around it may appear like a distinctive person who appreciates some very fine alcohol now and then. I guess it's an impressive perfume in that sense, I feel like it has that power of leaving a impression on people. The booze aspect fades continuously and, as it reaches the bottom, the smell is predominantly nothing more than a silky/musky sweetened cotton rose. Not harsh or offensive in any degree, leaning slightly to the masculine side. A very simple yet high quality rose-booze fragrance.

coolephelps

Soooo good I may have to stop wearing it to work. Yesterday, the building cleaner I employ asked me an extremely absurd question relating to sex. I asked, "what made you ask me that?" Her response was, "the way you smell stimulates my *****." Fellas, be careful where you wear this particular one. It really is one of the best fragrances I've ever smelled before and a huge compliment magnet. Especially, when I layer it with Kutay since the two are really close.

Spender

Wow!! Mind Blown! This is pure emotion in a bottle! Spring/summer vibe for me, definitely an evening scent , but like this kind of evenings where you know some crazy things might happen.
Emotions apart,I think i get more beer scent than whiskey though. Also definitely a floral presence and of course the ambroxan. The ambroxan here is well dosed in my opinion, you get many other notes above it so, it's there but it's not smashing (not like Another 13..).

double0sevan

All I got from this off the scent strip was rose. Then I sprayed it on skin and it came to life. It smells so much like whiskey in the opening that I got mouth sweats. As it settles, it smells more manageable and less like a spilled whiskey on myself. Really fun to see how much I changed after applying it to skin. Good stuff.

Shadow_Slammer

Wow, Baraonda is an impressive fragrance. This is the most realistic boozy "whiskey" fragrance that I have experienced. My initial thought was, this is too boozy to wear without smelling like a drunk. While the whiskey opening is realistic, there's a sweet and woody floral note that comes through and balances everything nicely. The dry down is amazing, I would say 10/10 for what this is trying to achieve. Definitely a fragrance for going out at night, or a date night, but a first date?

smell.the.niche

Very realistic whiskey fragrance. It’s very woody & boozy perfume with touch of musk and almost a fruity sweetness in back-round. Masculine with solid projection and silage and is in TOP5 Nasomatto fragrances for me. It’s a very unique and smells expensive but when it comes to similarities it’s very similar to Kutay from Turkish house - Unique’e Lxury which is from my perspective much better blended with extreme Sillage & Projection.

TYSONTORNADO

What a beautiful upscale scent! Simply Gorgeous.

Sam654

I loved it. My wife hated it. Both for the same reasons. She said it smelled like I was working in a sawmill all day… too much woodiness. With fall here, I’ll have to break out the Straight to Heaven again. As I recall, she liked the cedar. 🤔. Go figure.

cwavah

This is by far my best boozy frag............. by far the best whiskey fragrance i have got my nose on.......opens up with that spicy whiskey that lasts before a more woody floral dry down

photonparable

This stuff is the closest you get to photorealistic whiskey. Makes me want to get the shot glasses out. It's 2018, and I'm back in college baby!

Kronstadt

The booze fragrance lovers utopia. There is nothing on the market that I’ve found to compare with Baraonda by Nasomatto. The whiskey accord is sweet, complex, and spicy in all the right ways. The ambrette is entirely complementary and plays an important supportive role to the whiskey and wood core of this remarkable fragrance. I have always struggled to understand why Nasomatto fragrances are so expensive for such a small quantity, but I have completely changed my thinking on that front. What you get for your money is almost the definition of value. It doesn’t disappear until you shower and it has an almost unique effect on those that smell it. Eyes widen and you get a universal ‘I love that, what is it?’ response. Worth every penny.

Sweetfemme

Rich, indulgent, intoxicating. Are just a few words I’d describe this beautiful scent!
Wow.
I’m kind of blown. I blind bought and wasn’t expecting this.
It’s almost like a honey whiskey does anyone get that?
Woody for sure.
Slight rose.
That sexy ambrette just lingering around with just a touch of musk.
Wow.
100% unisex.
All boozy fragrance lovers need this!
Perfect for fall/winter. But I’d still wear it during spring and summer nights but that’s just me.

thecorb

Very strong almost fruity whisky fragrance, the supporting notes stop it from being too boozy. Indulgent and rich, a must try if you like rich boozy scents.

Andrina72

Oh no! :(

It's amazing how everyone's noses perceive fragrances so differently. I thought I was going to love it and initially I did. The opening was so full of whiskey and luscious woodiness - definitely leaning masculine, but I'd been happy to try pulling it off. I was excited about the dry-down because I thought it would be even more fantastic... but it most certainly isn't. It's now the carpet in the bar bathroom - a whiskey / pee pee combo that has me wanting to scrub it off.

I understand why it's so well-reviewed, because I realize I'm experiencing something very different than the majority.. but for this reason, I definitely would not recommend this a blind-buy.

Nerweob

Very boozy. Straight up is whiskey and cola. Sweet and lingering. Drys down to more cola and spices, almost hot toddy.

The Swede

A nice parym that starts with Whiskey scent then it becomes quite "messy" but in a positive way that is, many notes here and wood, musk and a little rose are reminded but when I mean "messy" I mean scent notes I have difficult to classify but it is probably something chemical! It is otherwise easy to like. Suitable for autumn, for a club night and for a date - maybe? It is a bit more masculine due to the wooden note, but of course girls can also wear it

Oh, Baraonda...

In the bottle, this was the most divine fragrance I'd ever smelled. I love the smell of whiskey, and this is dead on. When I first got a whiff of this, I had to close my eyes and keep savoring it all evening. I immediately looked into a reasonably-priced bottle.

Having tried this on my skin, though, I think I'll just stick with my tiny sample. I'm learning that there are smells I adore that I do not adore on me. Whiskey is one of them. Ink is another. As an artifact and sensory experience, this is exquisite. As a love note to whiskey, this is photorealistically bang-on. As a fragrance to wear? Putting aside the art house dimension and limited socially acceptable wear of any primarily spirits-scented fragrance, smelling exactly like a barrel of the stuff just isn't for me right now. If you think that's something you'd like, though, absolutely give this a try.

Update: I know I said Baraonda might not suit my personality, but I crave it. It's the only thing to bring me that perfect comfort and warmth on these chilly autumn days. As it gets cooler outside, I long for Baraonda. I wear a tiny little touch of it in risky spaces where I really shouldn't smell like whiskey because it soothes me and warms me so greatly. 5 stars and back on my favorites list. To the uninitiated, it simply smells warm and sweet, like woods and cakes, but to those who are familiar, that honeyed-whiskey timbre is unmistakable. Divine.

Honestly, most people won't realize it's whiskey without you telling them. All the people I've had sniff it to test have not been fragrance people, but a couple of them were fine bourbon lovers. On me, one said that it smelled like nag champa, an Indian incense scent made of sandalwood and either champa or frangipani. Another just said that it was woody, nutty, and a little smoky, and agreed instantly when someone suggested sandalwood. Without the context of whiskey, this is a perfect warm, sweet woody scent more than anything else. The drydown is softer, with a delicious hint of something like a bourbon cake, not too sweet or gourmand but with a tiny hint of a bread-like note to accompany the soft, sweet wood.

I don't want to reveal that this fragrance isn't actually as illicit and unbearable as some assume because it's my perfect little secret and I don't want everyone around me popularizing it, but here I am, sharing this with you, dear reader: this is much more wearable than you might assume at first.

I generally dislike incense scents, as I think of them generally as all cheap balsam of peru smoke and no substance or depth. This, however, just happens to be the wood of a particular kind of incense stick, not burning, but resting between periods of being lit. This is the warmest, most delicious wood, it performs like a dream, it feels enormously well-crafted, and it cloaks me from the cold like a perfect cashmere scarf.

I've never been one for signature scents, but by accident of me wearing this one so frequently this winter, a hint of Baraonda just might be my current signature. I have enjoyed so many days of it from just half of my tiny 1 millileter sample vial, as a tiny touch goes far and lasts all day, but I'm starting to suspect I will need to order another decant of this for myself when this vial is finished, and I'm ecstatic, price tag be damned. This is quality.

Ravenrage

What a nice weird perfume. I like it more after an hour or two, the woods appears later. In my opinion, the booziness is nothing to be afraid of. It reminds me of some desert with liquer poured on top of it. It is delicious and decadent. Sweet, but easily unisex, weird but innofensive.
I'd like it to be stronger and more long lasting, but I understand, maybe it would / could actually scare a shy person off.

Update: Why does this remind me of a caramel dessert in a sauna? Still loving this.

Fragaddict123

I’d like to say iam a nasomatto enthusiast but sadly baraonda wasn’t the one for me
I already know that extra boozy fragrances are not my cup of tea
But I insisted in trying it and dare I say it was simply too much whiskey
Iam not sure when will I use this again but certainly not anytime soon

Opening:
I grew up on a wine vineyard, it was my dad's childhood dream for his retirement, where he worked 1000 times harder as a farmer than a businessman, but it was his playful sandbox until he passed away 3 years ago. I know this scent very very well! This is not only Whiskey, it's also Port white wine!!
You can tell that because of the scent and caramelization note in it, it's identical to what we produce. Maybe he made Whiskey out of grapes or grape seeds?? Is that possible?
I also smell wood barrels, possibly using Oak?
It literally smells like I'm doing a flight of Port Wines tasting. I know 100% this is white grape as red has a completely different smell due to the tannins in the skin, that not only perfume red wine but also makes it bitter, which I'm getting none of that. This is extremely strong potent stuff, predominantly alcohol, you'll smell like a beautiful alcoholic, might even get suspended coming into work smelling like this...lol

Mid/Heart:
The scent is moving to a stronger alcohol smell, but the sweetness & caramelization while slowly fading is still there.
For the hour that it's been on my arm, this is completely linear, what you spray on the opening is what you get from the drydown.

Im a new groupie fanatic about him, this guy is something special, i want to follow his work & career like I've been doing with Gordon Ramsay since 1999. He's crazy, he's eccentric, he's brilliant! People like this tend to push the line of what can be created.
Im a fan of him, and im glad i got to experience smelling this, but i regret my purchase, you cannot be going out in public smelling like this, therefore i recommend people sampling first before blind buying this particular frag, i might save you some money!

Because you can't be going out in public smelling like you've been drinking white Port and Whiskey all day and rolling around in it, this is borderline an art-piece frag. It's yummy, its wealthy cigar smoking golf playing private clubs regal smelling. Smells like the finest that North America has to offer. It's extremely challenging, this is not for everybody, nor should it be, you couldn't wear this out in general public, you'd have to be in a circle of friends & associates, relaxing and having a good time, drinking, smoking playing cards, telling stories, laughing and enjoying life. Something i should be focused on doing, but instead im talking to you...lol

4/5 Woofs!

katariina9

Delicious and refreshing woody whisky, not as much as in Vilhelm Chicago High, more tempered, better balanced with ambrette and woods, no leather, also a lot fresher and slightly floral. Defo more unisex. Just a joy, makes me want to pick it up once the frequent air-travelling becomes a thing again. It smells perfect for long-haul flights with a good drink and a book.

Joani_Cheddar

SWAGGER! When you wear this fragrance you cant help having a saunter like swagger. If you are not fond of whiskey or the smell of whiskey - this fragrance is not for you. It the most realistic whiskey scent - sweet whiskey- yummy whiskey type fragrance. Amazing for both women and men - strong enough for a women but made for a man. :) Picture someone spilling whiskey and you don't realize until the next day - it is that sappy whiskey type scent - and though this may sound like a horrible whiff - it is sooooo good.

Sarinaamani

This scent makes my mouth water its delectable. Its a very boozy fragrance obviously it smells like whiskey! For some reason I never really reach for it to wear on myself but I always just smell the bottle. That is until my boyfriend discovered it and stole it from me! Which is a win as it smells amazing on a man. I would say it is a unisex scent. This is a 2 hitter quitter! Very potent stuff and it radiates around the wearer like a smokey yummy boozy cloud that is irresistible. Probably not a good idea to wear to work but its an amazing fragrance. I think its one of the best release from nasomatto imho.

Hellenic Perfumology

Oh Man! Its Baraonda!

That was my initial reaction and this is such a Marvelous fragrance Man! It opens up Boozy and it has that Ambrette vibe that elevates this in sexiness level!

Such a mysterious vibe i get from this! Its like i went out with the boys and we crossed the line!

Oh Snap! I dont remember a thing! I Might have spilled some fine Whiskey on me! Well here im on the couch hours later wondering what went Wrong!

This is a Fine 9! Brothers watch on that Trigger you might have people fainting! This is potent!

Little drop of "Need you now"

I used to love listening hit made by Lady Antebellum - "Need You Now". After first sprays of this scent I thought that scene from that video clip was perfectly done for advertisement of "Baraonda". It is little bit on pricy side, but if you have chance to order "The God Father" by Alexandria Fragrances, you will be in great luck to get it for very decent price. Their pyramids are almost identical. Whisky + Ambroxan + Rose are the top 3 notes that hunts you for hours. Very boozy, woody and masculine fragrance. I love wearing "Treson La Nuit Nude" by Lancome and see ambroxan very similar with these two perfumes, but I can't see myself wearing "Baraonda". I'm my opinion, whisky notes are little bit overpowering for feminine scent. It is more dreamy, distant experience, that you only want to encounter, but you never will. This house makes surprising fragrances and “Baraonda” is one of them, it will confuse you for a minute, but it's full of character, boldness and longevity that lasts for hours. Be moderate on your applications. One drop is enough to make a statement.

frejvonfraahsen

A dark dessert opening to a choir of coconut, muscovado sugar and smoky bourbon, with a hint of roses in the soprano section. This is not for the kids out there, but for adults with a certain "big-dick-energy" - regardless of gender. The coconut fades quickly and is replaced by a hum of dark notes - mainly smoke and booze.
If that's how you roll, you'll need to get your hands on this :)

ptsau

I always love boozy scents but all the boozy fragrances in my collection are all sweet gourmandy boozy (Enigma, Black Phantom, Side Effect, and Angels Share) but Baraonda is something different. It’s dry woody kind of boozy. It smells so good and unique. I bought a full bottle right after I tested for the first time. Great performance with 10+ hours on my skin and moderate but not big projection. It projects about 2 feet for the first 4-5 hours then become skin scent at 6 hour mark. It’s unique so not blind buy safe but strongly recommend to try a sample of it.

vetiverica

Rose, musk & ambroxan soften an already smooth whisky. The liquor and amber-y touches create an almost caramelised-butter accord.

benicio

Smoky whisky. Great scent!

Lervin HR

Whiskey! … That's Baraonda, a well balanced alcoholic fragrance with an amber-like sweetness, a good exponent in the "Boozy Fragrances" category. To my taste it is a jovial aroma and easy to wear, unfortunately, the smell of alcoholic beverages greatly limits its versatility, definitely not for work, while its use in nights out where alcoholic beverages are ingested makes the aroma blends into the atmosphere of the place. Personally, I prefer other releases from the same brand. As in all Nasomattos, disproportionate price 30 mL for 150 USD.

BirkinSmell

Astringent and not like whiskey at all. It is a sickeningly sweet boozy fragrance that - in my opinion - is overdone.

M.MALY

An amazing & wonderful mode when you put the perfume ,

Magus

This is currently my favourite boozy woods perfume. It is a category I am fond of as I like deep sweetness, cut with some illicit fun. This particular blend induces a sense of celebratory intoxication, cocooning me in a convivial warmth. While the top notes are undeniably the best, the dry down is very good too and the whole experience, beginning to end, is wonderfully rounded with no jarring (so-called challenging) notes to spoil it. Wonderful!

ambydawn

I just can't with this one. I usually like boozy, woody, rose fragrances but something about this just turns my stomach. I think the whisky note might be a little TOO realistic and reminds me of the overindulgence of my youth and why I cannot drink whisky anymore. The opening literally smells like you just spilled a whole bottle of whisky on freshly cut wood. I forced myself to wait an hour to let it dry down a bit, and while I admit that it smells better once the rose begins to appear I till cannot stomach this at all. I would actually probably like this on someone else, where it wasn't in my face and all around me. Pulls masculine to me because I don't know a lot of women personally who drink whisky straight up, but is unisex really and on the right woman would be pretty fierce!

finesse19

This is magical. While I have not been able to get my nose on many boozy fragrances, and this was my first foray into that area of fragrance, I am wowed. A sweet, soft, heady fragrance that can only be described as intoxicating. I will admit if you aren't used to a photorealistic boozy frag, as I was not when I first smelled this, it will take some getting used to, but once you have gotten used to it you will find a fragrance that is simply divine. The rose, ambrette, and whiskey are blended to absolute PERFECTION and compliment each other scarily well. Bravo Nasamotto.

Final verdict: 9.5/10

psychosaki

I instantly fell in love when I tested this at a local perfume store. It’s rich, boozy, and unique. Very loud scent. I find this very sweet on me and found it to be more feminine, but maybe that’s just me. The sillage is enormous so don’t spray too much or you’ll fill every room you walk in with this scent...it also lasts forever, which is something I rate highly.

mishraadarsh42

Great composition of wisky, dates, woods (gives a feel of oud somewhere) and a well complimented sweetness with strong performance.
Its smells natural.
Best suited for cool summer nights and winters.

EauDeBaldy

This is such a great one. Not explosively WOW but just simply beautiful.
It's warm, comforting, boozy, a bit woody & laid back and definitely for the dapper Gentleman. While I am wearing this casually ( first timer ) it is so much better suited for a dress down occasion.

This exudes class.

The more I wear this, the more I'm going from liking this to, loving this.

Another thing I wanted to point out, This is one fragrance you want to "spritz" spray, not fully spray when wearing... it is that strong and potent. At first, you might ( or others might ) get put off... but it's the dry down that makes this one amazing.

I have never had a perfume elicit a full body wave of euphoria before Baraonda - it starts at the crown and gives me shivers all the way down my spine. Is this real life magic? The whiskey is top shelf, the ambroxan and musk are dead sexy, the rose is moving softly in the background giving everything a sensual edge... this is absolutely the scent of someone ready to leave an impression. Baraonda will project you forward and electrify those around you (if you can pull it off) and this quality makes the price seem borderline affordable. If you love a single malt then you have to try Baraonda. Outstanding, 11/10.

Boozy, rich, decadent and sexy. Always reminds me of a Christmas pudding; dried fruits, whiskey, syrupy and warm. Totally addictive. Bold with a good sillage to match.

What a great perfume.
An addictive smell of sweet and rich whiskey,
spilled on antique wooden barrels. Insane for the winter season.

This was a big disappointment.
Opens up with a nice whiskey note, then goes into ROSE. Rose only.
I truly hate rose note in fragrances.

I’ve tried 3 different fragrances from this house,
baraonda, pardon, black afgano, sadly i didn’t like any of them.
I really wanted to like this house but i just can’t.
Pardon has a nice opening, then dramatically changes to worse in the drydown which is disappointing.
Black afgano i just didn’t like at all, although it’s pretty linear.
Baraonda was the biggest disappointment of all.
I don’t recommend it unless you want to smell like rose... if you looking for a boozy masculine fragrance then this will disappoint you.

Edit:
today i asked my work mates,
my mother, and my sister what they think of this fragrance...
none of them liked the stinky rose smell👎🏻

Opening: Whiskey. Fantastic. Something to kill for!
Dry down: Some rose and musc.
Base: The rose and musc is hanging in there.

Nothing dirty. This is a pin stripe suit in a posh restaurant with a jazz piano in the background.

It is not a sledgehammer of booze, some will love that, some would have wished for more, i think.

But the blend with rose is marvelous.

I have issues with longivety. Say 4 hours, not more. But that 4 hours...oh my oh my.

It´s worth buying if you want your boozy scent laidback.
Don´t forget the suit. The same rule applies for women when
you´re wearing this.

Really nice.

Opens with a great combo of whiskey and ambrette. This is the first time I have liked the use of the ambrette note. As it dries down, woods comes to life...to me, it’s a cedar note. Reminds me of the smell that permeated from my parent’s liquor cabinet they would open up on special occasions. This is a very sexy alluring scent to me, although I imagine some might be turned off by it.

Longevity and performance are well off the charts awesome! Great for fall/winter. I would say this is masculine all the way.

Overall, I really like this. AFs version “Godfather” prompted me to try the real thing. Although it is good, it does not match the blend, richness and depth of the OG. I would certainly recommend all men get a sample of this to check it out.
