FORD

There are three things Ford Garrison wants more than anything:  to build, to report to no one, and the chance to live his life without the prying eyes of the good folks of Eagle’s Ridge.  Having spent ten years in the Navy as part of their construction battalion, he was able to live out most of that dream.  Two out three wasn’t bad, right?  Now that he’s out of the service, things aren’t falling into place quite as easily as he hoped and he ends up back home with all eyes on him.

It wasn’t as if Callie had gone out of her way to end up in Ford’s path, but somehow that happened all on its own and the town gossips were having a field day!  Could she help it that she was living in the house Ford had hoped to claim as his own or that the work on his grandmother’s ranch meant they were living not fifty-feet away from each other?

Ford was determined to come home, do a job to help his grandmother and leave.  Callie James is a distraction and she represents everything he has spent years running away from.  Now he’s at odds with his friends, his family and himself about where his home and future are going to be.

Could he walk away from Eagle’s Ridge a second time?

Don't miss any of the sexy soldiers!

I loved reading Ford by Samantha Chase, the seventh and last book in the 7 Brides for 7 Soldiers series. Ford Garrison learned to build things from his grandfather while growing up in Eagle’s Ridge. While growing up he disliked being under the prying eyes of the people of his town which is why after leaving the Navy he moved across the country from his family. Ford was determined to return home after his grandmother broke her hip and to repair her house. Callie James didn’t try to end up in Ford’s way, but it happened and the town gossips are having the time of their lives. Renting the cottage on his grandmother’s land had Callie living too close for Ford to forget the beautiful kindergarten teacher. Ford needed to decide where his home and future would be and if Callie played a role in that decision. I loved how in sync these two were. Callie knew not to push Ford to choose but to let him make his own decisions on his time. Ford has much to decide learning about decisions that affected his life that he didn’t know, or realize, before this visit. Callie helped him see where he belonged and what he really wanted. Ms. Chase is a wonderful story teller, making me feel as if I was right there and making me want to spend time in Eagle’s Ridge. Her books draw me in, making me forget the world around me. I highly recommend this book to other readers and am sad that this series is completed. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Samantha Chase continues to showcase what a treasure she really is. Ford is realistic, simplistic and complicated. It's amazing that a subject that is so simple can breed so many complicated emotions. Ford has spent his life running. From home, from responsibility and mostly from himself. Callie has spent her life wishing for a place to belong to. A home of her own, people who love her and a life that makes her happy. Ironic isn't it that both were searching for the same thing. Acceptance. A place to belong. A sense of security. Each was searching for something they always had, but failed to realize. A HOME. Ford is an epiphany moment. The manifestation of something special and the realization of something wonderful.

Fabulous!! This story is engaging, heartwarming and sexy! Ford has come home because he Grams needs him and he would do anything to make his Grandmother happy. BUT, he is not happy about it and can't wait to leave again. Callie is a tenant living on his Grandmother's property and has had a crush on Ford most of her life. It was so easy to emphasize with Ford and his predicament and my heart broke for him when he realized his Grandfather had always been on his side even though circumstances didn't look like it. Callie is awesome. Her understanding and acceptance of Ford's situation tugged on my heart. I really LOVED this story!! Highly recommended if your looking for great romance with characters you can relate to.
