Physical Switch requirements for vSAN traffic

Hello,

Could you please tell me if there are some requirements for the Physical Switch that will manage vSAN Traffic ?

I know for the Multicast requirement before vSAN 6.6, but what about latency ? any requirement for this ?

For information : The 2x pSW 10 Gb/s will manage a 3 node Dell HY-4 Configuration.

Thank you very much.

Regards

Laurent.S

<1ms RTT latency was the only latency number I've seen which is nothing specific to any switch manufacturer.

1Gbps supported on Hybrid clusters; I believe there was a provision to separate interfaces for Data and Storage traffic (could be wrong).

Hybrid configurations must have a dedicated 1Gbps uplink for vSAN Traffic.

All-Flash configurations must have at least a shared 10Gbps uplink for vSAN Traffic.

We do recommend using vSphere Distributed Switches rather than vSphere Standard Switches as vDS enables the use of NIOC.
