Smells like dryer sheets, or some scented toilet paper, to me

townofsalem

genuinely the only fragrance i’ve been physically repulsed by (so far). DO NOT BLIND BUY THIS LIKE I DID. the raspberry smell is sickening and makes my head hurt so bad. i literally had to wash this off because of how much i hated it. bleh ew

My husband got this as a gift and I don't like it. To me, it smells like an old man scent, an old man that happens to be a heavy smoker. My husband calls it "the pedo cologne" because to him it smells like a creepy old man lol. Not a pleasant smell at all!

OldSchoolFragranceLover

Before Creed Aventus, before Tom Ford Ombre Leather, before Dior Sauvage Elixir, before YSL Tuxedo....

...there was Joop Homme.

It was a groundbreaking fragrance that looked and smelled unlike anything else that has come before. It was advertised in all the top fashion magazines and sold in all the top department stores. It was innovative and radical, a unique game changer.

Show some respect.

Clean/Sandalwood/Fabric-Softer with a hint of sweetness from the raspberry. Not as sweet as some people saying. Shore a bit synthetic but not more than other designers imo. Actually I think modern ambroxan based scents smells more synthetic than this. Don’t get confused by the long list of ingredients. Most fragrances has this amount of ingredients but it’s not officialy listed.

One of my favourite sweet fresh summer frag. Highly recommend.

Not sure if there is a perfect " Gym Fragrance" but this is probably as close as it gets.

This smells like masculine scented dryer sheets . It is definitely synthetic and really just a clean scent. It is a perfect office scent . I don't want to say it's a boring fragrance but it's doesn't lean in any way that gives it that bang. My biggest issue is that it does have a slight odd note that throws it off. I think it's the juniper and patchouli. It does get better the longer it's on., but that odd smell is part of the base. This can be worn just about whenever , super versatile. While not exact in anyway this reminds me of Prada L'Homme and bad boy Parfum . This starts slightly fruity and sweet with the powder and lavender notes grounding a lot of the brighter notes . It has the fruity sweet dryer sheets smell that turns into an aromatic dryer sheet smell with the hint of raspberry. Performance isn't bad. I have been applying 6-7 sprays , projecting for a good 3 hours. It stays on the skin for a good 6 hours before it almost fades away . The bottle is pretty nice and sleek with an ok atomizer. I have worn this 4 times already and chances are I won't wear this again. The weirdness killed it for me to wear as a fragrance. I really tried to like it. But I have no problem using this as a quick room spray .

@nemesisdrummer Creed is the dupe as Individuel was made first.

@nemesisdrummer

Individuel was released in 2003 and Original Santal was released in 2005. Original Santal was a dupe of Individuel.

Have an almost full bottle of this if anyone wants to swap?

SirVojta

It's kinda boring, nothing special. But it's smell nice and can't go wrong with this one. My Brother said it smells like joop Homme and i must kinda agree, but this one is better. The drydown is somewhat similiar to le male

EbagAppez

I wore this one today as my office choice. Even after all if these years, it is still one of my top office safe choices for fall, winter, and early spring. It's not for everyone, but you can't go wrong with the sweet dryer sheet smell when playing it safe at the office.

NevesR

A teenager mass appealing synthetic cheap smelling sweet fragrance, nothing more nothing less. Good value for what you get, but boring.

herbertjuergen

I actually liked the opening of this fragrance.
But the drydown smells very synthetic sweet that I couldn't stand it

root

This is my dumb reach for fall, thought it would be also great during winter and early spring as well. It would be too cloying for the summer.
It's highly synthetic yet smells beautiful. Sharp frozen raspberries, or cold, breezy raspberry drier sheet - if I had to describe it, and dries down as a powdery smell. It pops up every now and then and surprises you when you catch a whiff hours after applying it. That's the phase I love the most. It's very easy to overspray, but only two-three sprays max is enough, more than that and you might get a headache. I own around 6 bottles of this and always looking for more in case this gets discontinued.

In terms of audience, I think it's good for any age group. Suited up or dressed down casual. Night out in the town, fancy dressed up dinner, weddings..all good. INCREDIBLY versatile. I would suggest going easy on the sprayer and not judging the cologne based on the synthetic, headache-inducing rubbing alcohol type of opening. Wait until the smell develops. On skin it's great, on clothes it lingers for days.
Based on the reviews here it seems like this is a polarizing scent..you either love it or hate it..so try first I guess.
This was a blind buy for me, but was totally worth it. This and Mont Black Starwalker..instant like.

The perfect everyday inoffensive signature fragrance,it smells really nice, personally I love it and has an uplifting/calming vibe. Incredible value for money,I would put in the same category as Prada L’Homme meaning they both are super inoffensive and good for office but this one has way better price and I think it performs better

Tfceccherini

Spraying top notes: I sense it intensively aromatic with fresh spicy, warm scents of lavender and cardamon. I also identify a slight citric smell - bergamot and citric notes. As time passed by, it became predominantly fruity and fresh transitioning to spicy notes.

At the heart, it became overwhelmingly floral and clean. Yet so, noticeable fruity/berry fragrances. I couldn't identify any trace of woody notes. Maybe slightly, indistinguishable from floral and fruity scents. At best I do not have the sensitivity to feel them.

In conclusion, I hold that Montblanc Individuel is a very discrete, low-profile and intimate fragrance (low sillage). It is wearable in the spring and fall day-light seasons, considering how fruity and floral it is. It fits perfectly at work, given its intimacy and freshness. However, it is a very particular fragrance, which means that you might like it or hate it (I like it, my wife don't).

Ditto cynogriffin. Gave it away to my niece's boyfriend. Meh...

Smells amazing! Like an Updated version of Joop 😍 ..I Hate that it's been discontinued. I'm pissed

cynogriffin

Blind bought since it was cheap, and I would say that this is not really a safe blind buy. The first time I wore this, I absolutely hated it. All I could smell is dryer sheet, because it does in fact smell like a straight up dryer sheet fresh out the box. It's not necessarily a bad smell, since it's essentially a clean laundry smell, but not really attractive to my tastes, as it was overly powdery and fresh linen smell. Maybe even a bit like fabreeze? If you want to make sure everyone knows that your shirt is clean because you just pulled it out of the dryer, this is the stuff for you.

Once I tried it a couple more times, I was able to look past the dryer sheet smell and pick up some of the other notes, although I think there are waaaay too many notes given and it's really a pretty simple scent. On the dry down, you definitely get the sweeter raspberry smell as well as some vanilla and chocolate. A slight hint of amber and musk (very slight) gives it some masculinity. There are some florals there, mainly I would say lavender lending to the laundry smell, and maybe some sandalwood, but I wouldn't call this a woody fragrance by any means. Performance is decent, but not anything to write home about. Once again, not a safe blind buy in my opinion, as the powdery linen smell is not for everyone, but I do think this is a good one for if you want a generic, non-citrus, fresh fragrance for the daytime or maybe bedtime.

Personally, I would give it probably an honest, right down the middle 5/10, as I could take it or leave it. It's not great, but it's not necessarily bad. I won't be buying another bottle because it's not really to my tastes, but it is kind of a unique smell amongst freshies, since it lacks the citrus and aquatic notes that are so common. If smelling like a dryer sheet placed on top of a slice of raspberry cheesecake sounds interesting to you, maybe pick it up to try since it is cheap and intriguing.

dan_non

Pretty decent fragrance for 20 quid
Opening notes arnt very impressive and are overly complex but this fragrance stands out in the drydown where you get a really nice smell of sweet vanilla, raspberry (vaguely) and dark chocolate. Not overly boastful or impressive, more subtle. It's great for a blind buy at such a cheap price but the price comes through with it's weaker longevity and silliage, pretty good for a beginner but again not up there in fragrances. I would however still very much recommend this as it's cheap, smells good, and has a nice bottle with a satisfying (heavy) lid. 6/10 the kinda thing you wear as a basic everyday one

skeed

got this for around 25 dollars, and im very happy with my purchase. This is very fresh and clean, any season, any time of day fragrance. Powdery, semi sweet, with some spice. Its bold but isn't going to gas out a room, very wearable to the office or anywhere really. This is a fragrance i would recommend to someone who doesn't wear fragrances but wants to try one. I don't pick up on the soapy aspect that a lot are picking up on, i think probably just attribute that to freshness. this is a pretty safe blind buy in my opinion if you can get it below 30 dollars.

CharlieDangar

Awful fragrance. Smells nothing like Creed Original Santal.

kloojy

A powdery perfume with a strange character and a feeling similar to after a refreshing shower. Its ingredients are many, but they are not tangible on the ceiling or are generally clear. A youthful perfume for those who are younger than 40 or who love the smell of lavender soap.

soulfragrances

no matter how hard i try i can’t seem to like this fragrance. i wish the scent actually resembled the note breakdown. i dont pick up dark chocolate or raspberry at all.

Jibones01

So nice I bought it twice! At least 8 hours on my skin, longer on clothes. My wife loves it and it garners compliments!

tonnu

smells like handsoap

RefaEDT

fabric softner with a raspberry touch
2h performance as for freshy fragrances

JaCrispyG

This is such an overpoweringly sweet fragrance, to me it seems so syrupy and even as someone who enjoys sweet fragrances, it is way too overpowering.

jojohanhan

Opens in a fresh lavender note, like a newly washed and dryed bedsheet. Then progress into powdery floral smell in the middle. Sweet raspberry maintaining presence all round from opening, mid and base but come as main character in base note with slight gourmand vanilla. Good projection and longevity at about 6-8 hours. My wife loves the sweet gourmand base note that sit close to the skin.

Mr. nose it all

Love it, clean sweet soapy dryer sheets.. and funner than most clean fragrances

Lavender nya dihidung saya cukup kuat, jadi vibes nya seperti obat nyamuk dan Permen Relaxa. Entah ori atau tidak. Overall unik sih, baru Nemu aroma yg kayak gini. 7/10.

Travis_Bickle

I think I got this for around $20 off a discounter. Fresh and fruity with a slight powder. It actually reminds me of the Yardley Gentleman talc powder I use in the morning. The scents pair very well together. Longevity leaves a little to be desired as it is an EDT, but for it's price I can only recommend this.

mohammedakm

I feel it has that gentleman while wearing a suit smell.
A great blind buy!

Pinochles

just bought this today and wow am i excited to wear it. fresh laundry with hints of fruit! unreal.

Delrio37

This one was pleasant when it was below 50°F outside and cloying when it was warmer than that. I view this one as a wintertime specialist that can work on cooler fall days as well. Since the sweetness can be headache-inducing, I didn't find it to be a good office scent.

It is an extremely synthetic scent, but, as a result, you get excellent longevity for the price. The longevity & value for money are both impressive, but neither offsets the fact that this is simply too sweet for my liking.

Ptfrag

Nice fragrance, its my second bottle, it's really good for everyday wear, or for the days when you dont know what to wear, its nice.
Good for office, but the thing i can specifically say about this one, its pleasant smelling but not sexy at all. Thats the best description.

ashroloie

For occasional wear during day time only, peole say night time too but not for me. I just couldn't see myself wearing this fragrance all the time. I found the more I wore it the more I could smell that original Joop vibe. Its certainly not as overbearing sweet as Joop but everyday use in my opinion does have potential make this a bit headache inducing for the wearer. Sweetness can grow on this depending on your sprays so beware.

YouTube hype is quite questionable. Mont Blanc have far better options to pick from, starwalker and explorer the obvious ones.

75ml will last you an eternity. Younger people would probably like this more because of the sweetness.

monsieur.moustache

Fresh, mass appealing, youthful. I picked up on a black pepper note that's somewhat unique within this genre, though overall nothing groundbreaking here.

Performance is relatively poor. Does not project much and completely vanishes after a few hours.

DeWitt

This used to be my signature fragrance for almost 3 years, during high school, and I used to love it.

So, I recently felt nostalgic and ended up ordering a bottle, so I could relive some of my fondest memories from that time. But I just felt disappointed.

I don't know whether it got a botched reformulation since then, or if my skin chemistry changed, because after about 30 minutes it starts smelling like cooking oil on me.

I never had this happen on a perfume before. Had to be in what used to be one of my favorite scents ever...

FragrantJosh

I have worn this fragrance 3 times so far and everytime draws me in more and more it's so interesting, it's sweet but not bubblegum sweet, it's clean and soapy, Individuel is how everyone describes it it's almost just like a fabric conditioner with a very light hint of raspberry, don't go buying this one to expect to smell a bunch of fruity raspberry because that's not the case. A few times I have caught a bitter smell possibly from the dark chocolate but unfortunately it's extremely subtle. The vanilla and amber works lovely in the dry down adding a slightly smooth warming touch. I am getting Joop Homme in soon and I will compare these two although I have smelt Joop Homme before and it was way sweeter possibly from the honey note. I get around 5-6 hours of longevity with a light projection, I think I turn nose blind rather quickly to this fragrance but it's not meant to be ultra strong and beast mode. 🧼

Longevity 5-6hrs

Cinnaminominameenomomin

This fragrance has grown on me a lot as it was one of the first-ever full bottles I own and at first, I thought it was too cloying, however, this has grown on me. I used to get a bunch of different smells and I felt mixed about owning it, but now I get this raspberry detergent smell that kind of smells like you are walking down the laundry product aisle and there's one that smells pretty dang fruity. It is not bad by any means, but it's not something I would wear always which is why I've leaned more to wear this at the gym versus out during class or work.

All in all, not a bad fragrance but definitely wouldn't be something I would wear going out.

6.5/10

L1ghtlyS4lted

Can't decide how I feel about this one. I think on my skin the notes kind of blend together into that bounce dryer sheet smell rather than having a separate "dryer sheet accord" (lol), because when I sniff it looking for the raspberry/vanilla/chocolate/etc the notes are definitely there, but when I just happen to catch a whiff of it while I'm out just pure dryer sheet. Smelling like that definitely isn't a bad thing (I don't think anyone minds smelling clean) but it's not really what I was looking for. Blind buy but only out $20 so nbd. I definitely feel like it's worth that 20 in a vacuum but had I been able to test it first I probably would have spent it on something else, definitely not a bad scent at all though IMO.

goomi

Not bad, got this at Ross for around $25. It's a very pleasant versatile fragrance that smells like raspberries and fabric softener. Gets a surprising amount of compliments, would recommend for the price. Nothing mind-blowing, but very clean and versatile, with decent performance for a good price.

NorthByNorthEast

It's a nice clean fragrance. Opens sweet and raspberry, almost a Twizzler note, and of course the soapy "fabric softener" accord. Would work well in the summer on hot days to keep laundry fresh. Later on the sandalwood hovers below the surface.

It's a bit too sweet for me, but for 30 bucks it's a good addition to the collection for something different. If I paid Original Santal prices for it, it might be a different reaction.

C Schmoney

I don't hate it, but it isn't going to be in my rotation much, if at all. There are far better fragrances from the house of Montblanc, but don't get me wrong this doesn't smell bad at all. If you can find it for the right price then I'd say go for it, but if you're willing to spend a little more then I'd recommend a variety of other fragrances.

I am young so it doesn't appeal as much to me. However, the scent feels like if it's on your clothes, you are wearing the cleanest damn clothing you ever will wear. This feels like a go-to for any kind of formal occasion. It reminds me that aside from wearing scents that are sweet and attractive, we also need to be prepared for formal occasions where opinions of older men matter, and impressions on older women also matter.

It's beautiful. I may use this a lot more when I'm in my later 20's, attending meetings with managers and staff in suits. On top of this, it is well-priced for its mature scent and I feel like your money is being spent on luxury for a modest amount. This is the most humble and serious scent I've picked up as a gift.

TrashBoat0

It's everything everyone says it is -- fresh laundry --- office safe --- etc etc. But, it's just too soapy for me. I can't do it. The fresh/sweet laundry smell is overpowered by the strong soapy/dryer sheet scent. Bought it at TJ Maxx/Marshalls; gonna try to return it.

Update: Returned it. If you want an inexpensive [save some money people] fresh frag I would rather go with Montblanc Legend Spirit, Aura Fresh Armaf, Bentley Azure or Silverlake, Penguin Original Blend, any number of Tommy Bahamas, and certainly Versace Man Eau Fraiche [can get a tester of this for $34.99]. The dryer sheet/soapy scent in Individuel is so intense it overpowers all the other notes there might be.

MiiiL33

I just love Montblanc Individuel. I have hyperfocus with Raspberry things so I couldn't pass on this. I usually spray a touch or two on the cap so I can smell it before I apply it on my skin. The opening is a metallic kind of sweetness, in a fresh, juicy way of sweetness. I think that might be the pineapple note. After about 15 minutes on my skin, it turns into a fruity and chocolatey scent, I think that the raspberry, vanilla and chocolate notes comes up at this point, this is my favorite point in every single perfume I've tried on my skin. It doesn't turn into a more interesting thing after that, but I think that my raspberry hyperfocus makes me feel that this is my favorite scent of all times! I can wear it for every ocassion, from a casual day hanging out with friends, to a more formal event. Overall, it smells like clean clothes, so it makes this perfume a perfect choice for my signature scent 🥰

Junaid666

A really great clean fragrance. Normally clean fragrances are associated with "blues" which feature citruses of some kind, but not Individuel. This one takes a different approach and nails it. The raspberry note is the key player here, however its blended with other notes in such a way that it smells like washed, clean clothes?
The people who are saying it smells synthetic are not wrong, but remember you're paying around $20 for this. Its totally worth it to add to your collection for a dumb reach fragrance. Works almost year round and gets the job done.

SmoothieOperator

- Nice break from standard "blue" freshies, veers into more of a magenta, berry, detergent smell.

- I would actually love a pure, long lasting laundry detergent smell, but this tries to "masculinize" that smell and ends up a bit gross. Apparently the only way to make berry detergent manly is to make it smell slightly unpleasant.

- Lacks the edge of complexity to be addictive.

- Desperately needs some kind of fizzy or tart kick, zing, edge. The main scent is more worthy of being an afterscent. Nothing "happens", very linear.

- I stop smelling it within minutes of spraying, but it can't be that weak, so I attribute this more to the type of smell. The simple "manly berry" scent just becomes part of the air.

Takamojo

Tested for a month:

I have two perspectives on Individuel. First, I think for a $15 - $24 price tag, it's great and smells better than most people around you throughout the day. Especially when most men in the US only wear a fragrance for special occasions. It lasts a full work day even with heavy perspiration.

The second perspective is, "how much are you willing to pay to smell good for yourself?" I think everyone should wear fragrances for themselves, not others. If you want a good smelling fragrance, buy one you love, not cause it's inexpensive.

Anyway, the scent opens with old school sharpness like white peppery mint notes if that makes sense. But the middle and dry down are sweet. Take joop homme tone down with a hint of vanilla and light powdery musk in the back. It leaves a noticeable scent trail in office settings and if you're trying to be discovered this could work in highly active or professional settings. You'll know if it's for you after your first full wear. I would recommend you definitely try it.

It smells like a cheap sweet raspberry soap

I like it, but rarely go for it as there is always a better alternative.

Andy_Bandy

Raspberry vanilla in the opening with harsh touches making it obviously artificial. Generic and common cold season scent. Gets boring really quick 🥱
Probably best suited for adolescents 😏🥱

BLKHWK

I have many great fragrances, yet every time I come back to this one, I like it more and I smile and am grateful I found it.

coonhound

First Pass - Citrusy. Powdery. Uneventful. It smells like Axe Body Wash but a little softer and little more lemon

1 Hour Later - This is still a very clean scent. It is powdery, but not on the order of Burberry Touch. Less like a clean diaper and more like a flushable cleaning wipe

Powdery scents for men confuse me because they are so feminine. This one attempts to counteract that by amping up the citrus

Not my style

***Scents, like tastes, are subjective. Wear what you like***

George the Fragrance apprentice on youtube put it best. A Harsh young and obnoxious Joop Homme getting arrested and sent to Juvenile Hall. Doing its bid and then sent to boarding school. Turning its life around, graduated from University, and finally finding himself becoming the more pleasant, mature "INDIVIDUEL" and productive member of society he is today. Great office scent. Non offensive in my book. There are people saying that it smells like fabric softener but I don't know how that could possibly be a bad thing. Its a great workday dumb reach in my opinion.

sab1nx

On my skin, it smells like body odor. Sold my bottle instantly.

Montblanc Individuel is an interesting fragrance. It opens with a pleasant burst of fruity and slightly sweet notes, which is inviting and subtle. As it settles, it unveils a mix of florals and spices, giving it a bit more complexity.
The scent is versatile and can suit various occasions, making it a solid choice for everyday wear. However, I found that the longevity was moderate, not exceptionally long-lasting. The bottle design is classic and understated, which aligns with the overall vibe of the fragrance.
Overall, Montblanc Individuel is a decent fragrance if you're looking for something adaptable and easy to wear, though it might not stand out as a bold statement scent.

VecentMourner1

Smells like a warm dryer sheet, but in the best way possible. Slightly sweet, very clean smelling, not great projection on my skin, but for the price this is a very good starter scent.

Bloopify_224

Good scent for the price tag. If anyone has used the Doce men Clean Comfort shower gel, this smells exactly like that imo.

youngevans

I bought Mont Blanc Individuel by hype and I ordered it without smelling it prior. And damn what a wasteful experience. The fragrance smelled so cheap and it had no projection whatsoever. You'll have to smell the spot on your body where you sprayed it to smell it. (Damn)

You can spray the perfume in a room and when one enters, they can barely smell it. I'm not sure if I had a fake bottle or the real one because of the hype and how bad it is

rlgon

It’s sweet. Im not a huge fan of sweet fragrances but I like this a lot, actually. Got it for $25 50ml and it was extremely worth it.
A woman could pull this off, but i feel it still leans more masculine.
Fruity floral, No regrets at all.

nirvblakr

I was curious with this relatively affordable Montblanc variant. Might as well give it a try today.
Opening is fruity and floral. I wouldn't say that this is a male perfume. Smells fresh on the first 5mins but it goes to more floral after. The lavander scent is strong. It's bordering more for women.... mature women. I remember the scent when I was young when aunts and grandmas were kissing me. You smell the plethora of powder, lipstick, makeup, perfume, etc. That's the smell of the drydown. Violet and powdery. I was surprised with the absence of the iris lipsticky note.
I can't wear this the whole day. I like Montblanc's Legend Spirit and Explorer but I have to pass on this. Good thing I just had a sample.

chridela

To my annoyance, fragrances are usually marketed to males or females. Rarely as unisex. This scent could easily marketed as unisex. For optimal effect, less is more - can be harsh if over-applied. Smells like a dryer sheet in a good way. I wear Creed Original Santal occasionally - Individuel compares favorably except it is a little more synthetic. Overall, it's a decent cheapie which is definitely worth owning, especially at the price point.

ShynePoFrag

Creamy drydown slightly harsh fruity opening. 7.5/10

Wow this is a perfect example of the evolution of ones sense of smell. It's development is totally beyond our control...

I used to love this one! LOVE it. It's friendly, safe, and non-offensive from afar. Heck I even liked it up close. Bought backups and everything.

Then about oh honestly 2-3 months ago I put it in and was like "whoa what is this synthetic bomb?!" but it was tolerable...
Then oh I tried it again a week and a half ago. It smelled just AWFUL. I have since have away the backups. I still have a og bottle I'm my collection but I honestly think I'll let it go as well. It went from me rocking it to it being 😫

Final Sniffs=
1/10: This stuff is a headache inducing synthetic mess!

Be careful about loading up in cheapies. One day they may suddenly be absolutely atrocious to a changed olfactory system...

Shehran303

In my humble opinion -- this S
Smells unequivocally like fabric softener, dead on. It smells very cheap and synthetic and carries the same scent all throughout the time. Fabric softener smells good on washed clothes as a mild scent, but as a fragrance it's too potent for my nose and has been giving me headaches. I get no sandalwood at all like some YouTubers claim. This is my 2nd MB fragrance and I had high hopes for this too as the Legend EDP was simply a masterpiece. I'd give this 3/10

Somwls

I don’t know why I love this scent so much. It’s true that it smells like fresh laundry with raspberry, but it’s just so good. Such a pleasant scent. This is just amazing for the price and has good longevity and projection for me. I enjoy it a lot.

hommeLhomme

I don't know why, but this does not smell as polished as Original Santal. Similar raspberry woody opening but this one is just more synthetic. It also smells like generic laundry detergent to me. I would not say this is a mass appealing scent. Not a good blind buy.

Nice for a change… Clean Fruity Linen… Cheeky Sunny Summer feel but would be too sweet in the Sun… White shirt in a cooler summer evening… But I don't wear white shirts... If I was to pick the most synthetic scent i have this would be it... Much more interesting out there, but this is fair for what it does... I find i now wear Galloway Parfums de Marly where I would have had an option to wear this and Galloway is way better in heat too... Big difference in price... but think once you expand your collection you won't look back at this often...

Ed_Lanz

A fruity, fresh and slightly sweet fragrance. This is the kind of fragrance you can wear when you want something that doesn’t draw too much attention but it is still noticeable and pleasant. It has a high similarity to the smell of fresh clean linens, but in a better way, so it’s the kind of fragrance that will give you a clean vibe without trying too hard, perfect for the office or a very casual reunion. The note of raspberry is the most prominent, then the lavender, at least to my nose. Great versatility but I would avoid it when the weather is too hot. I get 10-12 hours duration on my skin, and 24+ hours on clothes, with good projection on the first 1-2 hours. I recommend it if you are looking for an affordable soap-like fragrance to get you feeling clean, versatile enough but perhaps not so much for very hot weather.

Yes it was meant to smell clean, simple and easy to wear. If you're expecting something mind blowing go buy top noch niche fragrance.

Steve907

This smells like an unused dryer sheet 😂 A severely overhyped unused dryer sheet.

Whateverwhocares

Complex synthesis. Like a super nuanced lavender. Deep and somewhat dense. Smells like Eau de Laundry Pod, but not in a bad way. This is a dressed up cheapie. If you like laundry type fragrances, you should have this in your collection.

Texas2021

This is an excellent scent for the gym. Because of its often compared similarities to fabric softener it enables someone to wear a scent that has nice sillage without appearing to try too hard by wearing a more distinctive fragrance.

Mystères du Château de Dé

Pierre Bourdon created a classy and perfect scent for teenagers, and that takes talent. Those still treasuring some youthful spirit can't help but like it.

razorsedge

This is an odd fragrance. First sprays I couldn't smell it on me at all, very slight "Clean sheets" kind of smell when burying my nose on the skin, but SO said it's "good". I was kind of disappointed thinking I got a dud and performance was awful. Gave it a few more "warning" sprays in the air and let it sit for a night.

It matured and showed it's colours in full brightness just overnight. It's a very clean smelling, fresh laundry like smell, with strong raspberry note. A clean-sweet combo of two. "Clean fresh laundry" note, which I award to Lavender, starts slightly chemically, like a laundry detergent, but not as bad as some people described. It settles down fast to powdery clean smell. Equally strong is the Raspberry note - those two are the main notes here. It's potent but inoffensive. Smooth powderiness of White Florals ties it all together, making for a pleasant smelling, inoffensive but good-performing fragrance. Sinking my nose into skin I get a hint of Vanilla, and a bit of Mint, but none of the other listed notes.

I definitely get the Joop! resemblance - it smells like a less potent and cloyingly sweet, but more fresh, mature, and office friendly version of it. Performance is similarly strong - it projects "average" for a couple of hours, and the sits close to skin for the rest of the day. Even after shower I can clearly smell it on my skin - it has some staying power!

Like the aforementioned Joop!, this does smell a bit out of fashion, but is a good fragrance overall. Definitely an easy and flexible wear. I'd pick it over Joop! as well. 50/50 for a blind buy - I'd lean towards safe but if you're unsure about if you like sweet fragrances, probably should sample it first.

Also love the tin bottle - saves so much space!

jjjooonnn

Wish this was cheaper and that my clothes smell like it all the time. The Powdery Raspberry is special. Can't go too heavy on this or it turns kinda feminine on me.

michaelwblevins

So i have mixed feelings on this guy. The opening is good for me with Raspberry and smells like clean linens. However, the dry down to me reminds of staying in a red roof inn. The hallways smelled of that generic laundry all the time and i couldnt get that out of my mind

Scentologist11

There simply comes a day some times in month-when i just feel a big NO for all very expensive finesse and heavy complex scents - That's when I apply this simple and cheap beauty...

Mont Blanc Individuel - Sweet and sour raspberry with many additives - the smell is simple and at the same time beautiful - there are no three-dimensional pictures and broad multi-layered representations... It just smells nice, clean, formal and ok!

And the bottle is soo cute!

You probably have a day like that yourself, but you get the point :)

@SenslessReviews What a story. Quite entertaining!

kaurg

First impressions. I have no problem with funky smells and I'm quite fond of animalic musks and all sorts of intrigues, but this one initially almost made me gag. The reason for it seems to be an overdose of a certain laundry musk. It's a clean musk, but comes with an overbearingly mineral chlorine note that smells like something straight from a chemist's lab. Underneath that, a cloyingly sweet, yet strangely flat pineapple smell. I get no raspberry, but there is some mint. It's vaguely similar to other Montblanc fragrances with the Aventus/Fierce-inspired pineapple theme. But this one is a scrubber for me, and I'm getting a mild headache now. It baffles me how this could be perceived as a dumb reach freshie. And no, it's not similar to Joop! Homme.

-----

Later impressions. It seems to be a fragrance that needs some acclimatization. After my nose got used to the chlorine note, it actually appears kind of wearable. It's still probably a fragrance that's not meant to be smelled up close. The sillage is mineralic musky clean and fruity, seems to work in the current summer heat at least. But up close, I still get an impression of a cleaning agent with bleach that's covering up a bluntly sour and weirdly sweet note... Not exactly vomit, but for some reason, this was the first association. It's probably a passing association anyway, but I stand by my claim that this is not a blind buy safe fragrance by today's standards or a good idea for a gift. There are much safer options for conveying this kind of intense freshness. But at least I'm beginning to get the idea behind this fragrance.

JusttheFactsMan

#115 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I like this. I'm used to being disappointed by the weakness of Mont Blanc formulations, but this is going 3+hours, and at this price respraying during the day is not a problem. There's enough powder here to keep the fruitiness from being too much. Combine fresh sheets at the Four Seasons with a fruit basket in the room. It's clean, and crisper than I was expecting. This is a no brainer blind buy, 100% office safe.

Afc_Croatian

This is a fantastic dumb-reach fragrance.
It is incredibly clean and inoffensive, imagine fresh sheets with a hint of raspberry and cinnamon.
This will become one of my office fragrances for sure.

8.2/10

justinmartini314

Even though I wouldn't say this is a masterpiece or even a personal favorite, for some this is still one of my most worn fragrances. I can't explain it but I just find this one to be super wearable, especially for the office. Again, it's not even that impressive of a fragrance, to be honest, but I still reach for it constantly. I don't know why. It's just a nice soft slightly sweet linen-like-smelling fragrance. Easy to wear, easy to like. 8.5/10

How did a common sexually transmitted disease rescue Montblanc's "Individuel" from discontinuation? The story is stranger than fiction!

Nobody had much faith in "Individuel" upon its 2003 release. Montblanc invested so little in development that even a spellchecker to fix the now-famous "e instead of a" problem was too pricy. It didn't help that Iraqi strongman Saddam Hussein, then on the cusp of war with the US, publicly stated that "Individuel" reminded him of his favorite camel. Though Hussein was sincere, he inadvertently caused Montblanc stock to collapse as already-weak "Individuel" sales plummeted further.

By 2007, four years after its release, "Individuel" was on life support. Its "musky Mr. Miyagi" vibe, though trendy at the time of release, seemed dated. Montblanc executives had begun to focus on their fledgling line of Steven Seagal date-night fragrances, notably "The World Through Yellow-Colored Glasses."

A conference call was scheduled to announce the discontinuation of "Individuel." Fate had other plans.

On the morning of August 4, 2007, Dr. Francois Charbonneau's voice bellowed throughout his Paris laboratory. "I do it! I do it!" he yelled triumphantly. What he had done was a marvel of medical research. Charbonneau had isolated the HSV-2 virus -- better known as genital herpes!

At 3 pm that afternoon, Charbonneau's beaming face appeared on screens across the globe. As cameras flashed, Charbonneau explained how his research had just changed the world. One reporter caught a whiff of Charbonneau's cologne and tossed the fine doctor a compliment.

"For those of you who wonder, I wear Individuel by Montblanc," Charbonneau said to laughter.

"So how's this for a headline: 'Dr. Herpes endorses Individuel'?" teased another reporter.

Charbonneau's face tightened. His gaze hardened. A hush fell over the room, over the world.

Finally, Carbonneau looked up from his notes.

"You know what? I like!"

The room erupted. So did Montblanc headquarters, where executives exchanged high-fives and shoulder slaps. "Individuel" sold 637 million bottles that day, a record that would not be broken until the 2012 debut of "Gary" by SpongeBob SquarePants.

"Individuel" continues to benefit from the beloved Dr. Herpes, not to mention a sweetly masculine scent profile. It's one contagion that will actually help your sex life!

LeatherCouch

I'm on the hunt for classy perfumes, and this is one of them. Smells like the classy man with the white shirt and the sunglasses.

Cholera

Laundry detergent with a hint of raspberry, that is pretty much it. It is pleasant but not mindblowing, very safe and versatile but for night outs or dates there are much better alternatives.

Scentinal 1971

A beautiful soft sandalwood fragrance very similar to Creed's Original Santal (except it's not really original as this came out first apparently!). Despite being described here as both 'sweet' and 'fruity' and I find neither of these accords to be particularly dominant, in fact I detest most sweet/fruity and gourmand fragrances. Instead I find this to be a soft woodsy fragrance and don't pick up most of the notes listed here, which seem rather too many for what is in fact a rather simple and uncomplicated scent profile. Its simplicity and linearity is its strength, it is very inoffensive and safe whilst also being unique enough to set you apart from the crowd. It certainly smells far more expensive than it is and is refined enough to be worn on a formal occasion as it is relaxed enough to wear day to day. It is also extremely affordable without smelling at all cheap, so that's always a bonus!

OggiNoggi

I really don't understand this fragrance. It's nice enough, but it's mostly just sweet cinnamon with a really synthetic edge. It's long lasting but moderate to intimate projecting. It original, but kinda dissapointing considering the hype.

Filosykos

I really don't get the reviews that say performance is bad. It lasts pretty much all day on me.

Nauticus9

Montblanc Individuel is sweet, fruity, and youthful.

When you catch a whiff, it smells like fabric softener with a hint of raspberry. I liked it at first, but over time I disliked how synthetic it was. Its pretty versatile and is something you can just throw on. A good scent, but nothing mindblowing.

Carlos The Don

If you want to smell like a raspberry laundry detergent, go for it.

Tonic

Below average longevity, above average projection. Smells like sweet raspberry along with the other notes included. I find this very reliable and use it as an after-shower fragrance.

BrianBloom

Love this fragrance. It’s good value and easy to wear day or night. Sweet and cinnamon accords make this a good spring / summer scent. Good value for money considering who created it. Won’t last all day but it’s good enough, a good one to have in your collection. 8 out of 10

dexilio

Quite an easy-going, fresh out of the shower scent. Nice and clean. Smells like laundry detergent and dryer sheet. Easy to wear and fits most occasions. There's definitely some sweetness to it, so stay clear of this one if you are into the ultra masculine type of fragrances.

Tre de Fill

A pleasant and safe fragrance, with no projection and durability. The price is low, but this money can be invested in better offers. Overall rating 6/10.

RECEP TULUMCU

Individuel by Montblanc is one of the most versatile fragrances in my collection. It's a fragrance that can be worn all year round and for any occasion. The opening notes are fresh and citrusy with a hint of mint, making it perfect for spring and summer. As it dries, it becomes warmer and woody, which makes it perfect for fall and winter.

One of the reasons why I love this fragrance is because of how well it works in different settings. It's suitable for both casual and formal settings, and it's also suitable for both day and night wear. It's a fragrance that's not too strong, but long-lasting enough to provide a light and pleasant scent throughout the day.

It's a fragrance that can be worn by anyone, regardless of age or style. Whether you are going to work or out on a date, this fragrance will always make you feel confident and good about yourself.

frankcoelho

Individuel has to be one of my favorite fragrance scent profiles. Such a delicious, juicy, masculine, and versatile cologne! The smell is its strongest characteristics, but it does not project for as long as I'd wish it did (probably lasting for about 1.5h and then it quiets down). An excellent after shower scent to throw around the house or go out basically year-round.
For the price, this is a great buy! Mont Blanc typically smells over its price, but perform right at it. I'd recommend this to men of every age, and even my 5yo gets a spray or two every now and then.
You can sure find it cheap (right around $25) at discounters, but anything over $35 becomes a push, especially for the smaller bottles - meaning the 2.5 fl.oz bottle is the go to at that price. Get yourself one!

Update: I grew so fond of it over the last few weeks that I ended up going through my 50mL bottle (probably had some 30mL already) in maybe two weeks. Heavily over sprayed and got compliments, good performance, but we may be talking about 20-25 sprays per use. Buy this and use it as an all around fragrance.

Michael.szzz

Amazing smell almost like clean laundry mixed with fruits and spices. Clean, fresh perfect for daily casual wear in spring. Performance could be better lasts for 6-7 hours but doesnt project as well as i was expecting. Overall a solid fragrance and an amzing price, only £26 👍

Fazh97

Despite all the notes you only get raspberry and a light touch of fresh spice. This resembles clothes that have been washed and dried. Although cashmere is not listed, it's the scent profile which this fragrance delivers, and a pleasant cozy version of it. Clean, professional, a modest amount of sweetness.

If you're looking for something simple and straightforward with complete versatility, this is worth trying. If you want something unique and attention grabbing, you might find this boring.

Performance is a little weak.

scrappycakes

I didn’t like it at first but I fell in love after a good while. Definitely try before you buy.

Sweetboy05

I tried to like this one, I really did. But in the end, it just ended up smelling like a less screechy version of Joop! Homme. I gave it to my dad. Considering I bought it for only $15, it wasn't a complete waste of money. Just wasn't for me.

Trendkill97

Nostalgia hits with this one, in a good way, sweet kind of sticky, clean laundry detergent that overall comes off as pleasant, it's white musky synthetic at the base with a touch of fruitiness from raspberry up top, quite linear, lasts for about 4-5 hours. There's a slight plastic type of nuance. All the other notes present have alot going on for sure but aren't differentiated, Jeremy Fragrance definitely boosted up the popularity of this one no arguments about that! In conclusion, slightly cooler temperatures (will get cloying in the heat), in work settings this could work, inoffensive but does have rough edges. If there are memories with this, it's worth repurchasing, a good scent but not a great one. Mont Blanc now are bringing in much more quality scents of late.

TRmen

This is good but very synthetic. If your looking for a clean, soapy fragrance without that synthetic notes then you definitely go Versace The Dreamer. MontBlanc is also nice but it has a very fabric softener vibes in there. Italians are the best when you're looking for a clean fragrance that's why you should go to Versace with the same price (maybe a bit expensive not sure).

Notmyfrag

The only fragrance that has ever made me nauseous. Definitely cloying as well as having a sickly sweet vibe to it, but if you look past that, its a good fresh fragrance for multiple occasions.

Wichiteka

I purchased this fragrance based on all the hype around it, I don't like it because after the opening is gone, I perceive an odor that makes me sick. I don't know if it is the violet note.

It's an amazing opening, for sure, and I do get the Raspberry and chocolate notes, it reminds me of those cherry filled chocolates....

it doesn't last on me very long, almost 1-2 hours, and since the only thing I enjoy is the opening , that's fine with me.

I have tried to like it, I can tolerate it a little bit more now, I had it since Nov, so 4 months, I'm waiting for spring to try it again and see whether I keep it or not.

MorallyGray

That classic fresh, laundry esque smelling spray you're all used to and perhaps even love. Very sweet at the opening, I'd argue a bit too much in some instances. I tend to steer away towards warm humid days as on my skin it becomes overtly cloying. Performance on my skin is average teetering on subpar. Around 4-6 hours

Like many before me have said, this is just a more mature, less potent form of joop homme that keeps itself reserved behind a smaller scent cloud and more fresh notes. Not for everyone but you can't complain for the price. More a spring scent to me than anything.

7.5/10

Scent_Freak

Bought it, and sold it within the same week. Very very very poor performance and projection. Too much going on in the notes.

FreewayFrags

Was definitely a bit disapointed with this one. Overall I don't generally like sandalwood based fragrances, but it's still a nice smelling frag. Smells exactly how everyone else describes it, but can be a bit headache inducing. Also the bottle shape is ridiculous and can barely stand on it's own. Not going to buy again that's for sure.

Angelbeast56

When I wear this fragrance I don’t have a lot of confidence because it smells very similar to joop homme with is not good I feel this fragrance is everything joop homme should have been it’s got the cough syrup smell but it’s very very toned downed I feel if you just were a couple sprays of it just to have a nice fruity warm scent You might actually enjoy this fragrance would I repurchase absolutely not is a bad fragrance not really it’s decent. It’s pretty good I guess.

scrappycakes

Definitely not my favourite and I don’t love it. It’s good for what it is, a synthetic (not in a good or bad way), fruity and spicy. The top notes are quite harsh, so if you want to wear it to an event, do it about a couple hours in advance. Projection isn’t the best, but if you aren’t looking for a fragrance that engulfs everyone around you then I recommend this (although Montblanc explorer is a better option IMO). Lasts quite a while, I sprayed it on me at 6pm one night and I woke up the next day at 9am and I could STILL get a good whiff of it. It may not last as king on your skin, but I got 14 hours longevity. Overall, I give this a 7/10. Good for teenagers and a good office/school fragrance.

Edit: it grew on me and now it’s one of my favourites. Best Montblanc fragrance by far.

8.9/10

samudex

It smells like wild berries fabric softener, I mean like clean clothes.
It's a complex fragrance.
Be careful spraying it, it lasts forever. You may have to take a shower to get rid of the smell.

CoachSutton

This is just ok to me. I have tried to like this once, but just cannot do so. It really lives up to the description when the first accord listed is sweet. For me it is so sweet that it is sometimes to the point of headache inducing. Strong note of artificial raspberry that lasts throughout the life of the scent, although it does become a little less prominent in the dry down, allowing the sandalwood to peek through some more. But all this is just my experience; I know many others love it.

Tony_Liberty

Man I love this. Today I sprayed it in and was wowed. Got sniffs of it throughout the night. Fairly casual imo. Very synthetic but it is meant to be. Reminds me of the raspberry filled chocolates a bit. Maybe a tad dated but still modern and not at all old fashioned.

Tacosalad

I’m not sure how I feel about this one. It’s got me thinking it’s more for a middle aged man who wants to smell sweet but not in a vibrant sexy way. It’s definitely office friendly because it’s within a small bubble and doesn’t really project far at all but I smell it on my chest under shirt for 10-12 hours. It is pretty unique and would not say it smells just like fabric softener because there is definitely a amber and wet wood in this mixed with the raspberry softener scent. Can’t say I have smelled a similar scent. Perhaps why the name Individual. Gives me Joop vibes as far as the time and trend it follows. Perhaps dated but still a quality fragrance. Don’t think it will get a lot of use from me but for the price a welcome addition I guess. Cool weather friendly, feel like it would announce BO in heat. I can see how many would enjoy but I give it 6 for scent 7 for performance.

Dreymon

Not good but not bad either. Smells synthetic. Has an above average longevity but has a weak projection.
Smells like a fabric conditioner. Good for a blind buy. But would not buy it again.

Sirmyth13

I like this fragrance. It is not perfect, but it is quiet nice and it DOES get compliments.
scent 8/10
longevity 6/10 (about 6 hr)
sillage 6/10 medium - strong enough for people to compliment

PerfuMartin

I don't like it. I do like Joop. Bench urban original 2 is better than both.

don00

For the price it's an alright fragrance, although quite basic but perfect for a teenager. Unsure if I had a bad batch but mine smelt quite sharp, as if there was too much alcohol in it.

MikeRauch

I got this after reading that it was similar to Joop Homme, which was my second ever purchased fragrance. It smells good for what it is. Unfortunately, I tire of it after a while and it becomes headache inducing. For people who like sweet, warm, fruity scents this one is worth a shot. It lasts quite a long time. I would get around 12 hours on skin, and several days on clothing. Definitely better during the colder months. I don't wear mine, but for those who don't get headaches it would be good.

3NO7

Got firewood smoke on my shirt and then put some of this on…. I swear it smells like Aventus when the smoke’s mixed in.

Tushar Kanti Mandal

I am wearing my Mont Blanc Individuel on 1.1..23 . The temperature of the early morning is cool. This is the golden hour when Mont Blanc Individuel shines a lot. It need cool temperature to shine. The raspberry notes are prominent. There is a hint of vanilla. The fruits are coming through. The harsh chemical note which comes through in the warm season is not there. I am liking it.

3NO7

Smells like……

wait for it……

Fabric softener with a touch of raspberry. BAM!

Theodore Trisveis

A more fruity joop homme and original santal. Overall a fresh fabric softener with a rasberry touch.

Invasionbg

If it wasn’t Jeremy Fragrance no one will like this fragrance. A matter of fact
Quite unique but without much character. Very ultra synthetic (shall say in a good way because I heard Jeremy saying it😄) NOT IN A GOOD WAY

I will not feel much of confidence wearing this one. But it’s okay when I run out of ideas what to wear.

Not_Morty

Very nice Rasbery scent. at first when you spray it it is very alcaholy and over time it developes into a rasberry vanilla chocolate scent but it is quite synthetic in a good way

JLockett1313

Anytime anywhere scent… this is the only scent I would tell u to apply if your not so fresh but need to be clean smelling… lol cover up scent … office scent … gym scent … people think it smells good but sometimes don’t release it’s a cologne they might think it’s a plug in … it’s a scent I think everyone should own

Kialonti84

Quite an enjoyable scent honestly. I prefer it for colder temperatures so that the chocolate, creamy sandalwood, delicious amber accord and vanilla can thrive against the cold air. Quite a compliment magnet as well, but be forewarned that this bay is quite synthetic.

freshlymaderaspberries

Smells like lotion honestly to me and i get about like 5-6 hours but it is a good cheap fragrance that not everyone likes but i do

silvs16

Smells like sweet tarts. So so so sweet and synthetic, and not in a good way. I’m almost upset I have it on my shelf lol.

PierreLouis

Maybe like me you have noticed the majority of reviewers refer to Individual repeating Father Jeremy's litany ad nauseam: synthetic mess, raspberries, "a hint of fabric softener", smells like Joop. Now like many of you I couldn't test this in any shop so I had to blind buy at the lowest possible price. I have no idea what kind of raspberries these people is used to, but certainly they must be very different from mine. Never in a million years I would think of raspberries smelling MI. Even all the different fabric softeners I bought in my life don't smell like this. And no, it doesn't smell like Joop. For $36 AUD I now know the truth. Unless there are different versions of this fragrance around or they just tell us lies about the references. If there is one thing, about clothes, that can remind you of is the smell you find in laundry shops, the ones making dry cleaning. So clean, or dry cleaned, clothes. Nothing to write home about. It's a perfume that you can completely pass, the positive side is that now that I have it I don't wonder anymore about it. It's in the same family of Le Male, Versace Dreamer and also something of Burberry Touch. The performance of my batch, I assume recent, is mediocre. It is just $36 but I wish I did not buy it.

puffinsauce

Does it smell clean? Yes! Does it smell sweet? Yes! However, it smells like the taste of raspberries mixed with dish soap. I like the frutiness but I hate the synthetic "clean"-ness.
Again, it's very synthetic. But I guess that's why it's so heavily discounted.
Gives me a headache. I don't mind synthetic-smelling fragrances, but this is just too much for me.

beorgesmells

This cologne is not bad, but it gives me a massive headache. Extremely synthetic, and while I got compliments wearing it, I cannot stand it. A good cologne folks, just warning you it is very VERY synthetic and sweet.

otteromkram

Mont Blanc Legend is the training-wheels version of this.

Both remind me of walking past a mall-based teen clothier and getting blasted with whatever unredolent cacophony they've conjured up (Abercrombie & Fitch, I'm looking at you).

It's not bad for what it is, but if you're over the age of 25, I'd suggest trying some adult perfumes on and see how they fit.

Scent of gentleman

MB Individuel is a good versatile fragrance for it's price. I wear it to office and anytime I want to smell airy good and fresh without offending anybody.

Performance wise is excellent, surprisingly. No need to over spray.

jchoi.07

Honestly expected better, just by the people who received it on YouTube.

This is a synthetic overload and if you overspray it is a headache inducer. However, around 2 to 3 sprays moderately should do the job.

The closest scent I could think of similar to this is fabric softener in a very heavy way.

During and after the drydown it smells more like spicebomb or a winter spice/chocolate reminiscent type of scent.

6/10 would not recommend to anyone who doesn't like synthetic fragrances, but for 15 to 20 bucks it's worth it for beginner collectors.

Imcheap17

Way overrated and over hyped by fragrance reviewers. Smells like raspberry baby powder. It's a safe office fragrance, but don't go overboard because it can become TOO powdery.

Halian

A very safe perfume for all age, gender and ocassion. Quite subtle in terms of projection, almost unnoticeable, but once you get a whiff of its delicate scent, you know for sure it is pleasant and comforting.

Can easily be mistaken as a cheap cologne or baby powder, but I don't think Mont Blanc Individuel was meant to be a stunning niche perfume anyway, rather just a good reliable clean-feeling freshner. Its plus point would be the inexpensive damage to your pocket.

nicki_san

Just buy Joop cuz after 2 minutes it smells like softer Joop! Pour Homme!

bollie619

This stuff is so overrated it's crazy. I'm into sexy smelling fragrances and this one just smells like a bathroom aerosol air freshener. Nothing about it is attractive, nothing about it is worth buying. I genuinely think you're better off wearing nothing than wearing this. It doesn't smell bad per-say but it definitely doesn't smell good.

Rob321x

There are fragrances worth hundreds that can’t touch this fragrance. This is such a damn good fragrance. And for dirt cheap!

Mohamed_1

Honest review its a good clean fragrance i use it before sleeping to be honest its nice reminds me of my washing detergent dont expect it to be like wow its a good, nice and sweet fragrance but i dont like the drydown overall
Smell 7.6/10
Bottle 6/10
Longevity- 7-9 hours very intimate when it dries down
uniqueness 8/10 you wont smell it anywhere exepct when you are in a cleaning stuff store
Overall 7.8/10

Edit:
Im starting to appreciate this fragrance the more i wear it, it is really nice not everyone will like for sure but for me i think its lovely because it grew on me alooot when i got i hated it but then now through half of me 75ml bottle i really love it when i shower and wanna smell clean i grab this and spray 2-4 sprays. One thing i like about is that its not that strong which most people complain about it but for me i get the same 7-9 hours with close to the skin

Monteeze

I reallllly want to love it but it's just not what I was expecting to be honest. It's not bad at all but it just smells like laundry detergent mixed with scented antiperspirant with a hint of berry and a touch of chocolate.
I do like it though, for the price it's a steal.
6.5/10

The Wolf

I tested this side by with Creed Original Santal and I encourage you to do the same. You will smell that they almost identical.

Scent: The only difference I can discern is when I push my nostril right up to my skin. Original Santal is a little more aromatic. I think original santal uses better herbs and juniper, and individual used raspberry. But I can't tell the difference in the air, only right up close.

Performance: Longevity is better on the Creed. About 4 hours with the Creed and about 2.5 with mont blanc. They both become a skin scent very quickly. They both have weak performance.

There's comparisons on YouTube where people can not tell them apart. It's worth noting that this came out before original santal. It's also worth noting that the perfumer is the same here as it is with the Creed; Pierre Bourdon.

I truly believe this is the same formula but slightly less aromatic, and not quite as strong as the Creed. I love Original Santal, but this is almost identical, and costs 1/10th of the price.

TripleA

For me, this was love at first sniff. Even though I enjoy the burst of bergamot when you first spray this, I do feel as if by now the note has actually faded quite a bit, as I can't pick it up anymore. It smells fresh on my skin and sweet on my clothes. I like to use this as my signature scent as many people have told me it fits my personality. I've been complimented for this 7 hours into wearing, which is just amazing, as the dry down is a basic sandalwood and vanilla, although the middle notes and the cinnamon are present throughout the entire time you are wearing it. Raspberry is definitely there but fades really quickly.
Love this fragrance.

Jerrett

On the first whiff, it does smell like laundry detergent or a dryer sheet. It doesn't smell bad by all means, but it also doesn't smell great. It's an ok scent

Christian e 16

Smells sweet powdery and clean. Smells like laundry in a good way. Its a 7 out of 10

RLB1979

Like most on here this was a blind buy for me as well, it does smell like a dryer sheet with some raspberry essence, I did not enjoy this at all, If I want to smell like a dryer sheet I will just wash my clothes

Michel Silencieux

My first impression was that this is similar to the pink version of Joop! After the opening it does change significantly though. It’s less sweet than Joop!, and less bubblegum like. To my nose I get a smell of cream and raspberries, in a good way. On my clothes it leaves a fresh clean smell. Some reviews likened it to clothes fresh out of the laundry, and I totally get that as well, but I actually like that smell. I get moderate wear from this (about 4-5 hours) on my skin and it projects well to a couple of metres. My wife really liked this one on me, probably more than I like it.

I don’t agree with comments that this is a younger guy fragrance. I’m in my 50s and feel comfortable with this. I do love Joop!, and thus this fragrance is appealing to me. The dry down is much fresher and lacks the strong sweet vanilla obvious in Joop! and is dominated by the raspberry and sandalwood notes. I feel this is a good fragrance for spring and it smells more like a daytime scent. Not a bad choice for the office in my view.

Nice style on the bottle, but not the easiest to grip, but it does look good on the shelf. Test before you buy, but I personally do like this fragrance.

Rip & Run

Mont Blanc Individuel is pleasant, innocuous, sporty, casual, warm yet fresh, and slightly sweet. This is an extremely versatile scent that can be found at a great price. Whether you are just beginning your fragrance journey or have been collecting for years, this is an easy reach that won't disappoint. In my experience, it performs well year round as well. It has moderate projection and won't punish you if you happen to over spray. It's ideal for the office, school, church, gym, casual, and even semi-formal settings. I very much enjoy the scent profile and believe it will complement any man's collection. If the note breakdown agrees with your taste, I vehemently recommend giving it a try.

redwzrd

Meh.. blind buy, its not horrible but defiantly on the synthetic side. i do smell the dryer sheet thing but has a freshness to it. it would be safe for office wear or if you dont want anything super strong as a daily wear. if i could rate it 1 - 10 id give it a 5.

Scentologist11

If you read the ingredients or the composition pyramid, it seems that we are in for a very nice refreshing fragrance..Most people bought it because of the Youtube Hype itself, and most of us are most likely bound by the same half-disappointment! The smell is fairly linear and of the good "22" notes, which are listed with so much effort I can't detect more than sour raspberry, lavender and maybe a bit of vanilla and sandalwood? It's worth the shower gel vibe and the raspberry and lavender give that soupy touch but that's where it all ends! The sillage is downright desperate and the longevity as well... Most of the time it's on a bigger discount, probably for a reason! I don't recommend it, because apart from the smell, unfortunately it turns out pretty bad!

Guest2563

Soapy. Somehow reminds me of English people lol.

Perfumelover2003

I like this fragrance but the performances of the last batches are bad, I got 3 hours :(
there is a review onayoutubechannel talking about this issue on
Marco 4 U Perfumes
I hate reformulations !

Arber Cami

Shower gel/detergent vibe, faint smell, longevity and sillage are bad. Hype beats (from Jeremy Fragrances). Not worth the hype, waste of money. Not even good as a room spray.

pabekam

I love it, longevity is good, sillage is not that good, you have to be close to smell this.

4dri3n

Smells kind of indefinite, the plus side of which is you could probably pull this off absolutely everywhere. For the money, why not, but I do believe there are many choices with a bit more personality that are still utterly safe.

AlexFab85

I don't get it. This is a shower gel scent to me. Got it as a blind buy but only use it to not feel stupid, lol.

Maybe it is a bad batch or my nose is wrong but it smells like Axe or Harley Davidson deo spray in the 90's. Really sharp and artificial top notes and the dry down is kind of okay but still quite unsatisfying and unbalanced. Would not recommend.

Syahril75

I love it

OversprayEverything

If Sauvage smells like spicy laundry detergent, this kind of smells like the laundry detergent part of that, without the spiciness.

Thevoiceofthesnake

All i smell is raspberry mixed with gasoline and a hay undertone.

cp4044404

I like it, don't love it. I just don't find myself reaching for this bc I can't figure out when/where to wear it. Is it a gym frag? Office/Work? Casual? Idk, still working on that.

But it smells good, it is what you hear people say about it - the dryer sheet kind of smell with some of that raspberry note. I think it smells a little dated and that there are more versatile options out there for the money, I'd say test it first if you can.

scentist82

It's like asking a child "What flavor would you like?" in front of a gelato stand. "Raspberry… and… and patchouli… and… and vetiver… and… and dark chocolate". Too many notes - especially base ones - with sandalwood overkilling it as usual. Still kinda stuck in the 90s - even if it's already 2003.

Opens with clear raspberry and pineapple making it almost bubblegum-y - with cardamom, coriander, rosemary, and sandalwood already in full blast. Then it calms down a little, and it transforms into some kind of masculine laundry smell. Sandal keeps it soapy and clean; but all the flowers really starts to kick in at this point - especially the violet. It then settles into this flowery-powdery background, where vanilla and sandalwood blend together for the remainder of the scent's life, with just a touch of the previous spiciness.

Sweet, spicy, and aromatic. Yet "freshie" somehow. Not my thing; but surely "individuel" in its own twisted way.

Mystères du Château de Dé

Wonderfully cheap and intoxicating. Optimistic, cheerful, and not so simple a blend. The spices at the top are kind of its signature yet maybe too basic. What fabric softener and dryer sheets are you using, and why? This smells like fragrance, not laundry. For teenagers or a "teen spirit for the day". Agree with some below. Individuel needs air in the bottle and several months of maceration. Individuel is linear and the dry down is permanent on fabric until washing.

Thesmallestaromaticfeline

I belive this is the only Montblanc fragrance that's worth it's price. Don't expect much from this scent though, It smells like a fabric softener with a good dose of sweet and fruity notes. It's very synthetic, therefore it gets a bit cloying and annoying throughout the day. I have an older batch, which has great performance, sillage is not that good, it's more of a skin scent.

EmilioAAJr

Smells like raspberries and vanilla with a creamy vibe. I got one 50ml for a trade. I'm looking to swap for one 50ml of the following Montblanc Starwalker or Azzaro Chrome Aqua or Abercrombie & Fitch First Instinct Together. Dm me a trade.

Old_SnakeTwitch

Wow it really does smell like dryer sheets. I'm not sure I get any raspberry, or anything else really. It's just straight up dryer sheets. I love the smell of dryer sheets, and I bought this to be a room / clothes freshener "gym bag" type of deal and so I'm totally happy with this.

I probably won't wear it much. It definatley smells cheap. But hey, people like the smell of laundry and its a cheapie. Great for what it is if you can find it on sale.
I also just really love that flask bottle design

Weedol1972

When I was a kid my mum had a perfume called 4711 cologne. She loved it even though in those days it was cheap as chips. This fragrance reminds me of it.
It’s not one I’d wear but it reminds me of nice times as a child.

12nmilnes

Price be damned, this is an excellent clean cool weather fragrance. I originally thought that it was too powdery, so I assumed that it was cheap quality because of the price, but I realized that I was trying to wear this in humid, warmer weather. I simply don't recommend that, as it doesn't work. Context and setting matters. Cooler air makes this fragrance pop and come alive. It's beautiful. I can smell the rich chocolate as it dries down, and the raspberry is wonderful and realistic.

In the heat this will just smell like synthetic raspberry powder or something, so avoid that. ABSOLUTELY worth the money.

Tropicat28

I actually find this sickening as well as JOOP. I mean it smells good but something about them makes me feel unease.

Daviako

I first heard about this from Jeremy Fragrance and ended up blind buying it. I’ve had it for 4 years and have managed to go through half the bottle, mainly due to just randomly spraying it around my room for that burst of fabric softener freshness. I can’t say I hate it, but I definitely don’t love it, even though it’s one of my fragrances that was able to garner unsolicited compliments from random people. It may have a similarity to Creed's Original Santal, but this just smells too artificially sweet for me to like wearing that often.

FloridaFragLover

I will always recommend this as an incredible fragrance in my honest opinion as long as it’s still good. It does come off as raspberry dryer sheets. The performance is there it lasts all day. It’s not as beastly as it once was and the raspberry note toned down a bit but this is one of the best fragrances out there without a doubt.

EauDeBaldy

This is a nice one one and enjoyable... fruity and great for the Spring ( could be even for the summer )
Daytime... and you really can't go wrong with the price for what you are getting.

I wish it did last longer though... after maybe 3-4 hours, it becomes a skin scent.

Jef Patat

Great scent, especially for its value. Fresh and sweet and I also think the "raspberry fabric softener" description fits well.
It smells synthetic of course, as is to be expected from a scent described as a fabric softener. Personally I have no issue with this. It makes you smell very clean, but not in the stereotypical "shower gel" kind of way, but like fresh sheets. Very likeable scent, but perhaps a little basic / cheap smelling.

Paid 30 euros for 100ml bottle and I do not regret it.

Perfect for everyday wear. Would recommend.

Splashyminion

Very surprising how close Creed's Original santal is to this one. What a gem. Sadly discontinued now

Bright, Fruity, warm, and clean. Unmistakably Raspberry detergent laundry smell. Stays linear but it's perfect. It would be perfect for the office or with a white tee in spring/Winter. Sure it's overhyped but it's worth it I think.

dialecticaldean

I am not a fan of this one. All I get is powdery raspberry fabric softener smell. No longevity whatsoever. Tailored toward an office scent and that's it. It's a cheapie for a reason.

Taylor Wagner

Opens like a smoother less intense and less sweet joop homme then transitions into a generic sweet laundry sheets scent. Ultra synthetic from start to finish. Not sure what kind of raspberries people are used to but this has ZERO resemblance to any kind of fruit or berry. It has an ultra synthetic sweetness but It doesn't smell at all like raspberries. 6/10

ZeroLeon

Raspberry fabric softener. 6 hours

Invasionbg

I can’t see why people like this. Is it Jeremy Fragrance who brainwashed you or it’s just me 😄😄

I’ve got a 65/75ml bottle before the reformulation. If someone is interested and live in UK, please just send me a message 👍

Kevin The Llama

Its exactly as many have described, a sweet raspberry dryer sheet smell. I get decent performance like around 6 hours. I don't see how anyone could complain about this fragrance for the price it cost, I think it's better than a lot of other fragrances that are under 30 usd but I wouldn't call it the best, but it's good.

Bigmike650

I’m sorry but this stuff smells terrible 😂 I have a 50ml bottle that I’d be down to swap for another cheapie. Send me a message if you’re interested

Traceur Nath

I basically use this as an air freshener, and I mean that in the best possible way. If I have someone coming over I will spray this around as if it were febreeze. I don't wear it often but if i want to smell fresh, clean, and completely inoffensive I will put it on. It's linear and a bit boring, and I don't think performance is too good these days, I've heard it was a lot better in the past, but it's still a wonderful scent for a cheap price.

kpeter45

It is not a clone of Original Santal because it came first and Santal years later. Altough it is very similar to Santal.

Very nice fragrance, it has a gentlemenly vibe. Not too sweet not too fresh, it is right int the middle of both. Smells very clean and demanding. Perfect for spring, early autumn, cooler summer days and office wear.

The only and biggest downside is that it does not projects and does not lasts. In the first hour it has some projection but after one hour it becomes a skin scent. Literally i can't smell it on myself after 2 hours.

The price/value is good for the scent.

btd069

It smells clean and safe. It smells like laundry detergent mixed with dryer sheets, so essentially smells like clean, recently washed clothes with a slight raspberry fruit nuance which is not that prominent but definitely there.

Easy to wear, but is it groundbreaking? No really. This was supposedly discontinued, but i run into it all the time at rack stores for under $20 for the 50ml. Have never seen the 100ml out in the wild in discount stores.

For large collectors, this probably won't do much for you. Good for people starting out or just like simple clean smelling fragrances. Apparently this has a significant similarity to Creed's Original Santal, which i find has terrible performance issues.

Pariah

Maybe it's the kitchen sink approach to notes going on here, but I don't know what to think about this one. When I smell Individuel, it's like my nose is trying to pick out some distinguishing characteristics, but instead just gets a mess of sweet soft fruity-floral goop. I usually have no problem with synthetic aromachemicals but this one might be a little TOO artificial for me even. I don't hate it, but I definitely don't enjoy wearing it.

I also think this is an incredibly unisex scent, it's very sweet and powdery. Light and fresh laundry-y, sure. You could do a lot worse for a $20 cologne, but this strikes me as a worse Diesel Fuel For Life. Average performance, seems to sit fairly close to skin and fades after a few hours.

hendrafellany

fruity, powdery, a bit of florals and fresh scent. MAY be a bit too feminine for some. sample first.

dsgnmind

I write my reviews for my own future reference.

More or less I got an alcoholic opening with a generic cologne note. I read other reviews this time before writing this (I usually don't) to see what I'm missing, and I don't get any of the raspberry note others mention, just a "scented detergent" smell, maybe lavender, as I use lavender dryer sheets... and yep, kinda smells like them. Given the ok-ness of the scent and the price point, I'm happy to spend more for something with more character, so general pass for me.

MTinNC

Hello everyone, I am new to this site and new to reviewing fragrances. That being said Montblanc Individual was one of my first blind buys about 2.5 years ago. I had a collection of around 12 scents while in highschool but got rid of them between college and getting married. Reset to late 2019 and I'm looking for more scents after getting Montblanc Legend for Father's day in 2017. For me Montblanc Individual is unique. I can't say if it's ground breaking because I'm limited in what fragrances I have smelled so far but I really enjoy it. It's a bit fruity/sweet but there is something else manly and different about it that I really like. Fragrances are hard to review because they are so dependent on what you like as an individual and what your nose and brain do with a specific scent. I would recommend this for a blind buy. I think it's just different enough to make you remember to use it and it's usually very well priced. I think I got mine for $30 on ebay.

My opinion is:

Any season wearable
Sillage is a few feet
Longevity is around 5-7 hours with a few sprays on my neck and a few on my shirt.
Value is good for the price

This is my first review on here so please don't judge me too hard! Thanks.

TheComedian

Sometimes I’ll read reviews and the accords people are describing are totally different than what I’m experiencing. You've probably had that happen too if you've been smelling things for awhile. Individuel is not one of those times. The “fabric softener and raspberries” vibe everybody mentions is 100% accurate here. The opening is very synthetic-smelling in the exact same way that fabric softener is. It’s really not unpleasant, though; I actually like it. However, this is going to be one of those things you either like or can’t stand, and you’re not going to know until you smell it.

Individuel can get a little sickly sweet in the first hour or two of wear and I’d be wary of wearing it in summer heat. Because of this, I enjoy the dry-down much more than the opening. Much of that initial synthetic sweetness fades and I get pleasant raspberry and herbal notes overtaking the dryer sheet accord. It’s still fresh and sweet but no so overwhelmingly synthetic-smelling after a couple of hours.

If you’re a woman and you like Individuel, you could probably wear it. It’s sweet and fresh and doesn’t really have heavy masculine accords that my nose can pick up so it could work as a unisex scent I think. I can’t speak to any reformulation but longevity is about average on my skin.

I bought Individuel blind because I like to collect frags and it’s only $20-25, but try it first if you can (just don’t pay $10-15 for a sample, this is a super-cheapie). I like it for when I’m lounging around the house but it’s not something I’d ever wear for social outings personally – there are much better grabs for that. I’m not huge on sweet smells, so I can see myself getting tired of this and handing the remainder of the bottle off to my younger brother eventually. We’ll see. But for 20-25 bones, this ain’t bad at all.

SmellsLikeIDontKnowWhat

It's very fresh, fruity, powdery and rather clinical. It's a sophisticated scent for how synthetic it smells.

I wear it to the dentist/doctors.

NoLongerAGuest

Got a sample years ago and fell in love with what I can best describe is the "heaviness" of the scent in the air above my skin, definitely the synthetically fresh laundry sheet smell that has been well documented. Grab and go dumb reach kind of scent that is magic when you get whiffs in the air around you.
SELLING MY BACKUP BOTTLE CHEAP ON EBAY/ looking to trade for another cheap beloved MB, Legend Spirit anyone??

Blizztee32

Great frag for me.

Prince P3

Interesting fragrance. Smells clean and fresh if you apply it normally but if you rub between both wrists will come out as a powdery/bubble gum type scent. I like it for going out at and attracting women. For the price point you can't go wrong unless you're not into synthetics/sweetness.

Crash000001

My wife’s favorite, and my most complimented scent.

I like this, smells like clean laundry 🧺

I spray 5-7 times and get 7-10 hours from my bottle.

When the rumors were going around regarding discontinuation, my wife picked me up an extra 3 bottles.

My wife’s not one to compliment a fragrance, so I tend to listen when she says something

Deliver

I still figuring this out…sometimes is ok, sometimes i hate it

Rob321x

Masterpiece at an affordable price. When people were going crazy a few months ag, talking about how this fragrance was going to be discontinued, I bought 6 bottles. This juice for the price is up there with Bentley intense as the best fragrances for under 30$. That could easily pass as a niche fragrance.
