Frank Vincent, who played Phil Leotardo on The Sopranos, has died. He was 78.

Vincent died in New Jersey Wednesday following heart surgery complications, TMZ reported. The four-decade veteran film star was also known for his memorable appearances in multiple Martin Scorsese classics including Raging Bull, Goodfellas, and Casino.

During his appearance in Hype Williams' 1998 film Belly, Vincent provided acting coaching for stars DMX, Method Man, and Nas. Vincent's first credited role was in the 1976 drama The Death Collector alongside Joe Pesci. The role is said to have inspired Scorsese to cast Vincent in his 1980 film Raging Bull, starring Robert De Niro.

Vincent also appeared in Shark Tale, NYPD Blue, Law & Order, Night Falls on Manhattan, Gotti, She's the One, Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing, and the Grand Theft Auto video game series.

Rest in peace.
