Vermont’s Agricultural Hall of Fame inductees were celebrated today at the Champlain Valley Fair.
Five farmers and their families were highlighted, including the Chamberlin family, well known as dairy farmers in the region and Anne Brown, who is most known for her more than 30 years of work with the Morgan Horse Breed.
Inductees were selected based on their accomplishments and contributions to Vermont agriculture.
“There are few farmers but their importance is greater than ever.
They are the custodians of the landscape; they really embody the values
that a lot of us non-farmers aspire to,” Rep. Peter Welch said.
Since 2003, the event has honored over 70 farmers and more.
