Officials with Oregon State University have confirmed all members of the school's men's basketball team are safe following a terror attack in Spain.

Twelve people died when suspected terrorists drove a truck into a pedestrian walkway called "Las Ramblas" in the heart of Barcelona late Thursday evening.

The Beavers men's basketball team was staying at a hotel on Las Ramblas, and witnessed the attack first-hand while eating dinner outside.

Greg Gottlieb, the team's assistant coach, said the incident "happened right in front of us as our team just sat down for a pregame meal."

Head Coach Wayne Tinkle posted a video statement to his Twitter account, confirming everyone from the team is safe but they're not comfortable doing media interviews quite yet.

"I don't think people understand the gravity of what occurred here," he said. "All of our party and players are accounted for. Everything’s good with our guys, it’s obviously a tough thing to deal with moving forward."

The team was traveling throughout Spain this month, playing exhibition games. They were scheduled to leave Spain Aug. 25.
