Terrance Joseph Blanchard, 54, had spent more than two weeks in jail after his arrest July 19. With charges stemming from Blanchard allegedly becoming violent with police handling an accident scene, his stint in jail included an assessment of his mental health at the Waterford Hospital in St. John's before he was released Aug. 3.

Blanchard now has five more charges, including one count of driving dangerously and four court order breaches related to an incident in Corner Brook Saturday.

He appeared in provincial court in Corner Brook Monday and the Crown was not consenting to his release.

Defence counsel Bob Matthews said he needed some time to prepare for a bail hearing, which was set for Friday.

Blanchard has already entered not guilty pleas to the initial 10 charges and will be going to trial on them Oct. 31.
