The Nānākuli High and Intermediate School Performing Arts Center is open to any public school and public charter school students in grades 4 to 12. No private or homeschool students are eligible to register. Classes run from Monday to Friday from 4 to 6 pm and some Saturdays and evenings.
Students can select one of two programs:
Workshop: Students in this program will only meet on Tuesdays from 4 to 6 pm. This is an introduction level
to singing and dance with a focus on group dance and group vocals. This group will meet only on Tuesdays until a week before production opening night, then they will need to meet on other days.
Encore: This is for students who have the commitment and serious interest in the performing arts and are available all week. Students will meet on Tuesdays as well as the other days of the week and will include some weekends and evenings. Focus on group/ensemble dance and vocals and be considered for musical solo performances. Students will also qualify to be considered for casting in Musical Theatre productions and touring show cast. Also, Encore students in grades 7 to 12 may be eligible for a DOE elective credit in Play Production.
Please note that studentʻs schedule will also depend on what role student gets in a particular production. However, dress rehearsals are mandatory for all students.

-November 15 to 24, 2019: Broadway hit "Be More Chill" . . . students will audition for roles. For students in grades 7 to 12, the show does contain mature themes and language.
-February 21 to 23, 2020: "Timehop" musical revue show featuring song and dance numbers. All students will be in this show. Tentatively scheduled to perform at the Pearl City Cultural Center Auditorium.
-March 27 to April 5, 2020: Disneyʻs "Little Mermaid" . . . students will audition for roles but the expectation is all Encore students can be cast in this show.
-Touring Shows: September 2019 to May 2020: Various musical revue performances around the island for select cast.
