Ink & Share Blog Hop Summer

It's time for the Ink & Share Blog Hop and this month we are celebrating Summer. You may have just visited Sandrine's blog or perhaps you are starting your blog hop journey here with me. Summer is officially here in Colorado and I hope the projects that we will be sharing with you today will help inspire you.

I had a difficult time deciding what to create as there are so many wonderful things that I love about Summer. After much thought I decided to use the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper to create a card that reminds me of the wildflowers that can be seen in the Rocky Mountains when we visit this time of year. I chose to use Mint Macaron cardstock for my card base and I added a layer of Rich Razzleberry cardstock as a matte to the layer of pretty designer series paper. Doesn't it remind you of a field of wildflowers? I used a piece of Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Velvet Ribbon (item #147016) to embellish the layer.

For the main focal point of the card, I die cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the largest oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies. I used the large background stamp from the Love What You Do stamp set (item #148042) to create the background with Mint Macaron Classic ink, first stamping off once on a scrap piece of paper before stamping onto the die cut oval. Using the large floral image, I stamped it with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Gold embossing powder. I colored the flowers using a Blender pen and Rich Razzleberry Classic ink. I adhered this oval to a scalloped oval that I die cut using the Layering Ovals Framelits dies and adhered it to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals, centering it over the ribbon.
To create the sentiment, I heat embossed it onto a thin strip of Whisper White cardstock using Gold embossing powder. I chose the Happy Birthday sentiment from the stamp set, You're Inspiring, because I thought the font fit the card perfectly. I used the Tailored Tag punch to flag the ends to create the look of a banner and attached it to the oval with Stampin' Dimensionals. To finish off the design, I added two Rich Razzleberry pearls from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls (item #146927) to embellish the sentiment.
I hope you have enjoyed my floral summer design and I hope it will inspire you to experiment with this amazing designer series paper to creat your own wonderful projects. There are so many beautiful designs in this paper pack that will provide you with so many possibilities.
